This review is based on two separate visits on two different days. Pictures attached were taken on opening night. We went opening day, wait was about an hour but once we got inside the time for food was not bad! I got the slider and tender option no kale slaw and pickles. Food was delicious, flavorful, and hot (I could go up one). The fries were great and crispy. The Dave's sauce was not my favorite which is why I was so glad the slider wasn't drenched it it! Opening night staff was amazing! Second part of the review, I was so amazed I went the next day Saturday for lunch. The gal up front got my order right but when I got home to eat the order was not correct for a moment I thought I grabbed the incorrect one, but I checked the bag and nope. I got the same thing slider and tender no kale sale and pickles with regular fries and Mac and cheese. I got kale slaw on my slider and I got cheese fries. The slider was also drenched in Dave's sauce which like I mentioned before it's not my favorite. The mac and cheese was okay, no wow factor for me but needed more cheese. The cheese on the cheese fries was actually good, not sure if they used the same cheese for the Mac and cheese. I love the location and the decor/wall were pretty and modern. read more

Got the #4, 1 slider and fries. Got the mild because I wasn't sure what they considered mild. Definitely shouldn't gotten at least medium to get some sort of kick to it. Still good though! Big fan of the crinkle fries and the seasoning! Only thing I didn't really enjoy was the dipping sauce. Will definitely eat here again ! Service was quick, just be ready for a possible long line. Every time I've been here the line has been to the door. Inside has a good amount of seating. The decor was colorful and has a lot going on which was cool! My husband brought me home a sandwich and fries and it was just as good as I had seen the reviews raving! With a good skin to chicken ration, the breast is juicy and tender, and the crispy skin adds a great flavor. I am sucker for all the toppings on the sandwich I could double that for me. These were less sliders and more full sized chicken sandwiches. The fries were still perfectly crisp, even after the travel time. The side of Dave's sauce was perfect for dipping. Now onto the sandwiches. I have never had such perfectly seasoned chicken. The breading was so flavorful and crisp, and it was drizzled with a tasty sauce. They included honey packets on the side, which added an extra delicious element. However, what is the most important part of a chicken sandwich? If you didn't say the pickles, you're wrong. I got the lite mild as I am not a fan of spicy. While the first bite had me questioning my choice it was better as I got further in. I also wondered about the kale slaw but it was very good. I've been waiting to try this place since they opened. Every time I drove by it was insanely busy. Yesterday I had to take a day off with my 3 year old son and he wanted chicken strips so we went pretty close to opening time. When I walked I. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The dining area was clean and the decor is awesome! I love hot things and have completed nearly all of our local restaurants spicy challenges and have done the one chip challenge so I'm no novice. However I told the staff I wanted it super hot but enjoyable so they recommended the extra spicy. I got two tenders and fries. My son got the plain chicken and fries. The food was soooo good! I wish I had read reviews before wasting $13. The chicken is average with added spice levels. I wish the spice/heat blend had a balance. It's just how much chili powder do you want piled on the thick breading. This is a chicken place and the chicken inside is just ok. The sauce is bland and heavy on the mayo. It's not worth a calorie to eat this. The bread is the saddest piece of square white sandwich bread. Just depressing when the competition has the BEST-you know who I'm talking about. I have mixed feelings about this place, and maybe it's because I'm in my 40s, the food was fine, but I found the in person restaurant experience pretty obnoxious. I went to Dave's one night recently by myself because there was a lot of hype around the place and I figured I'd have to wait since it was still fairly new. It was very busy (as anticipated), so the 25 minute wait wasn't really the issue, the issue in my personal experience was the service. I've never seen a place with a business model like this before, there were probably 15-20 people working in the place. Half of those were back in the kitchen, and it looked like they were really busting their asses trying to push orders out, the other half were bored not very helpful counter service that didn't seem like they wanted to be bothered. I can get that anywhere, and pay a hell of a lot less. The food was good, not great, but solid. I actually liked the fries better than the chicken, they were perfectly crisp and seasoned well. The chicken tenders were good, the heat was just about what I thought it would be for the medium that I ordered. I would recommend menu item #3, and you get to try both the slider and the chicken tender. Btw the chicken tender is like a chicken breast. There is so much chicken for the price, totally worth it. 2. I like spicy but wished I went with the medium level. Hot is hot! I could tolerate the heat, just brought a few tears. 3. Welcome to Omaha, Dave's Hot Chicken! It was a delight to get to try out this spot on it's official opening day. The line was wrapped around the building outside- but we were inside and food in hand within 35 minutes thanks to the great staff working! It was like a well oiled machine. The service was fast and they were so kind. I ordered the #3 with hot level spice- it comes with 1 tender, 1 slider and fries. I would not consider what I received as a slider- it was much larger! I was very satisfied and was able to save the other tender for later. The spice was PERFECT and the sweetness of the Dave's sauce definitely cut through. I was very impressed. Chicken 10000/10 - sides were not worth it to me. Looking forward to being back and trying a higher spice level + milkshake. A few of my coworkers got the reaper spice level (which you have to sign a waiver for) which was a fun experience for all. I am so happy about the location- the urban vibe fits perfectly for that midtown area of Omaha and I love to see more food infused in that area. read more

Chicken and fries were crispy and well seasoned. When they say hot, they mean hot - which is a pleasant change from some restaurants. I got hot and my husband got extra-hot. Our lips were burning (which is a good thing!) and we would order the same spice level again. The slider was served with a stack of tasty pickles. The "slaw" comes on top of the slider, instead of as a side dish. Service was prompt and friendly. Parking and access are atrocious! Very poor design! We ended up parking on the nearby street. Just do that at first and don't even try to fight through the parking lot. read more

This is my favorite middle-of-the-road restaurant! The service won't be as quick as a drive-through, but they are pretty efficient at getting their food out. I love spicy food, so being able to decide what level of spice my food is an incredible plus for me! The menu is relatively simple. They sell chicken. . . you can choose between large sliders or chicken tenders. I love both, but I'm a sucker for the sauce, pickles, and coleslaw that come on the sandwich! The toppings probably also dilute the heat just a little bit so I can brag that I ordered extra hot when it's probably not as bad as a tender! I'll typically do a #4 which is a slider with fries and I'll add cheese to my slider and get extra Dave's sauce. It's probably about $12 and I love it! Customer service was great and so fast which I appreciated because I was nervous about there being to many people. I ordered the Dave's #3 which was a tender and a tender sandwich with coleslaw and a side of fries and of course a side of Dave's famous sauce and pickles. The Tenders are a nice size and seasoned well. I wished a drink came with it but we did get a milkshake which was SO GOOD. They have vanilla, strawberry and chocolate you can even ask for them to make it a Neapolitan and they'll make it no problem. My daughter ordered the same but instead of fries she got the Mac and cheese. The fries were Seasoned perfectly. The Mac n cheese is decent with good flavor but not as cheesy as I'd hoped for but still tasty. Dave's sauce is a sweet mayo based sauce takes your food up slightly a notch. It's good with or without but it just gives you that feeling of completion to your meal and if you know then you know! Haha! The slider was absolutely great. It had a very large piece of breaded, tender, juicy, chicken on it. It came with Dave's sauce, pickles and kale slaw on it. The Dave's sauce reminds me of a creamy, sweet thousand island flavor. I liked it very much. My tender was also large, tender and juicy. It came with a pretty good piece of bread too. The spice level of both was very good for me. I will try the higher levels on my next visits. My fries were perfectly done. They were coated with a slightly spicy seasoning and I devoured them. My wife ordered a slider and kale slaw. She ordered her slider with no spice. She loved the mild flavor. Both of us wished that the kale slaw would have a sweeter dressing on it. Getting in and parking is difficult, to say the least. It is painfully - and I do mean EXCRUCIATINGLY - LOUD inside. Polished concrete floor, all hard surface walls, steel chairs & tables, and music playing loudly. On the plus side, the employees were competent and friendly. And even though it's not my favorite style of chicken, it was done well and there were ample portions. If I ever get DHC again I will definitely get it to go, and avoid the painful dining area. read more
