My son went and waited in the drive thru line to grab us some food on opening weekend. The chicken tenders were delicious. My wife who is picky with chicken said this was her favorite of the fast food places in town which is a compliment. We did medium heat which was a perfect balance of spicy but not so much spice that is destroyed your taste buds. My son got one of his sliders HOT spice which was still good. Its probably more spice than I wanted but still good.. I hate to think what the REAPER spice level is like!!! My son said the line was long (to be expected on opening weekend) but he said the staff were well organized and friendly. They were also knowledgeable on the products. We got the slaw and sauce on the side since it was a to go order which I would recommend to keep your bread from going soggy. The fries were good, they come with a good seasoning. The sauce is also good. We also liked the slaw. The slaw and sauce are not so overpowering that it hides the chicken taste. Actually compliments it nicely. The chicken tenders themselves are a nice size and did not taste or feel oily. taste My son already wants to go back.. lol. I wouldn't mind eating there again in the near future. First time having Dave's Hot Chicken. I went through the drive thru and was assisted by Maria. She was incredibly sweet and walked me through the process of ordering. I received my meal within minutes and drove away. The food smelled sooooooo good I could not stop myself from opening up the box. I started with a cheese fry. I'm biased. I love cheese. I love fries. Hard to disappoint me with either of these. The flavor of the fries were great and I love the consistency of the fries (not too mushy not too crispy) the cheese sauce was colder then I generally like. So a bit of a ding there. After driving another block my stomach requested more substance so I decided to take a bite out of a slider. I ordered medium spice. To me, the spice was more mild then medium. I barely got a tingle. I would hope medium would have a bit more kick (seeing as the hottest needs a waiver). I also highly recommend not eating these while driving. It's not a clean sandwich. Fortunately the taste was great so I wasn't that upset about the coleslaw in my lap. Warmer cheese sauce and spicier "medium" would have put me at 5/5. I went with 2 other people and it had cost the 3 of us a combined total of $40 for 5 pieces of chicken, 1 side of fries, 2 sides of kale slow & 1 small drink. Not just that but the chicken tasted a little over cooked. For the 3 of us it would have been cheaper to go to raising canines. Definitely one of the better tasting fast food chicken spots out here in visalia. Only giving 2 stars because I went back a few days later and they gave me someone else's order at the drive thru window. As an advocate for hot chicken, I was really excited to try this place. Looking for something spicy I ordered a number 3 with the reaper spice level. The chicken lived up to the hype and was very spicy as hoped for! The one knock I do have on this place is the wait time. I came into the restaurant at 5:30 pm and did not leave until about 7:00 pm. Despite the slow service, the employees were very nice. Although I would not wish this wait time on my worst enemy, I do plan on coming back in hopes that the wait is quicker because the food was very appetizing. read more
