During these chaotic times, it is really nice to know that some things haven't changed. Back in the early' 90s when I lived here, this was one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the area. I just came back for a visit and decided to return for takeout. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken and my father ordered the Pork Egg Foo Young and we shared the Wontons with Sesame Sauce for an appetizer. Good for eating in, the restaurant is clean and not usually crowded, since most people order for delivery. I'm pretty sure we were eating to Lil John and the Eastside Boys on the radio. Complete with a little sushi bar.. although this facet of chinese take out restaurants in New York is still weird to me so I haven't tried it. Sushi should come from Japanese restaurants. This place is our go-to Chinese. It's reasonably priced, the food is really good (not too greasy!), and the delivery is SO FAST (we always use grubhub). We are fans of the general tso chicken, the crispy beef, the cold sesame noodles, and the sushi is good too (not the best, but definitely good!). But seriously, the delivery is so fast. One time it was literally 15 minutes after we ordered. They even delivered to us in a snowstorm, and fast. read more

The food here is alright, nothing special. The lunch meal is similar to all Asian restaurants in the area: soup or salad, spring or egg roll, and entree. The pricing is also similar. What this place has over a place like Haiku, other than the food, is that it's a lot more relaxed and less pretentious. My favorite aspect of this place was how incredibly friendly our waitress was. I've ordered delivery twice from here. I ordered from the college about 10 minutes from there. The first time they were two hours and totally forgot about my order I had to call. When the guy got here I didn't give a tip (of course) and he has the balls to be like no tip? How rude! The food was decent and nothing to get excited about. The second time I got delivery, the guy came in 45 minutes not that bad. But it was the same delivery guy as the last time and didn't even offer change just left with my money! Ugh I can't stand rude delivery people! This time the food was better I ordered the general tso chicken lunch with a soup and California roll. I order from this place every now and again because I am here in NY/CT area for a contract job and I don't have a car. If I don't go grocery shopping, I rely on food delivery. I use eat24 and I've noticed a lot of people on there suggest that their sushi is good and decently priced, but my experience is far from that... I might be spoiled because I am from Southern California, and out there, the food is EXCEPTIONAL AND the cost is WAY less than ordering food out here. I don't find the cost of their sushi reasonable ESPECIALLY considering the way it tastes. It's extremely mediocre food and it's price is greater than I think the food is worth. Although, that has been my general experience with most of the food in White Plains and Greenwich (aside from pizza... I will give you that...). Most of the food out here is ridiculously priced and the quality is very poor. Now, if the prices here are just indicative of the cost in this region of the country, then fine. It's "cheap" relative to the surrounding area, and if you're looking for your typical, mediocre take-out that is "cheap"... then this place is great for you. But aside from all of my spoiled brat complaining about the food quality, I think the thing I find the most offensive about this place is that every time I have ordered from here, the bag my food comes in smells like an ashtray. This may seem like a petty thing to complain about, but if you don't smoke, you know how nasty cigarette smoke smells... Being that the food is not that great in the first place, the intense smell of cigarettes on my food (which generally overwhelms the smell of the food in the first place) does not help my appetite. The first time we ordered delivery on grub hub, the delivery took about an hour and the food was alright. The second time was bad. The delivery took about an hour again, but they got our order wrong, as in they left 2 out of 4 entrees out. called back and they were going to send the rest of the order over, the problem was it took even longer to get the rest of our order, almost an hour and twenty minutes. the delivery guy asked for a second tip when we had already given him a tip the first time he came and was quite rude when we explained that our order was wrong the first time and that this was the restaurant fixing our order, and the rest of our order was smaller portions than should have been and also approaching cold. won't order from them again. read more

Not bad for $15 minimum order and free delivery. I ordered the chicken fried rice for $6 and specified all white meat chicken. It looked like they did use all white meat, but the amount of chicken in the dish was seriously lacking. The onions were just charred but not cooked through so we're very acidic. I was excited to see crab Rangoon on the menu because you don't see that often in New York, but theirs seemed like it was made with some type of puff pastry and the dough really took away from the flavor of the filling. read more

Good chinese takeout. Not too greasy (as far as chinese take out goes). They are very fast -I have never had an order take more than 10 minutes. The woman who answers the phone is super efficient. Orders come with a cup of canned pineapple which is odd, but overall very solid chinese take out. read more

I have been going to David King for about 20 years, first with my parents and then with my wife and daughter. We have always enjoyed the food and thought it was a step above the standard Chinese take out or small restaurant. The last time we went there, about two weeks ago, I found the food and the service was very different and not in a good way. Then my wife pointed out that the lady at the front desk (a fixture there for the last decade) was different, as were other staff members. The food was ok (shrimp with broccoli, crispy beef), nothing fantastic and when I asked for some of the food to be wrapped up to take with us, they proceeded to give us two take out contains and a brown paper bag. I went downstairs to collect my food and I wasn't able to give a big tip so the delivery guy got mad and threw my bag and guest check on the floor. I love the fact that you can get any fried rice here made white i.e. with less oil and soy sauce.

We had ordered food, and expected it to be delivered in about 30-45 minutes. An hour later, we got a call from the driver that he was on the right street, but in the wrong town. An hour and a half later, the restaurant then told us that the driver could not deliver our food, so two hours after we ordered, we found out our food was not coming. The whole process was a battle with them, so our customer service experience was, needless to say, awful, and we will not be ordering from them again. read more

I must say that I'm reviewing the EASTCHESTER, NY location, which does not seem to exist on Yelp. I hope this place is better for chinese food than it is for sushi, and I should have listened to previous reviews that said the sushi isn't good-it's not good at all. I'm an avid sushi fan but I went against my better judgement and ordered some delivery on Saturday for lunch. For starters, the food was late because the person who took my order misunderstood my address and she had to call me back to have me spell it. I ordered 2 simple rolls (the Yellowtail-scallion roll and something else I can't recall) and one "special" roll (the Red Dragon roll). The fish was not of a good quality (my main reason to order simple, unfussy rolls). I felt I could have gotten equal quality rolls from the grocery store counter. The fish had no smell and very little flavor, and pieces of it were chewy. I would not order sushi from this place again. I usually find higher quality fish has a fresh smell and subtle taste to it, but this did not. My fiancee ordered the negimaki bento box lunch, and the miso soup was clearly from a package, and the beef itself, although drowned in a sweet and reasonably tasty sauce, was not seasoned at all before cooking and was bland. I'll stick to Azuma and Nanase for sushi, and Jade Spoon for Chinese food. This place is not a repeat in my book. read more

David King is always our go-to for ordering delivery sushi. They have a buy 2 rolls, get 1 free deal- who can beat that?! Can't speak to the Chinese food, but the sushi is always excellent. They have a very extensive menu too, which is great if you have a big group. A couple times the delivery has taken long, up to an hour (they estimate 30-45 minutes) but otherwise, this is a solid sushi spot especially for delivery. read more

I'm a big fan of chinese delivery. Being new to White Plains I decided to ask a friend for a suggestion. Overall I learned to not ask friends. A huge disappontment as this friend is a restaurateur. Hot and spicy was bland and boring. I expect cheap cuts of meat with chinese but I expect the preparation and cut technique to make them tender, not the case here. read more

Pretty good food at reasonable prices at a time where (at least in my estimation) restaurant food prices are rising rapidly. I've been going to this place for years and have always found the food to be reliably good, though certainly not amazing. The sushi is not bad at all and the Maki special is a bargain.
