Another local spot that we have never tried before. Upfront, the place look small but when you get in it is pretty decent size. It was past midday when we got here and we decided to get some light food but I ended up craving for some noodles, ordered the tempura one while my wife had the sushi. I also got some sparkling water and didn't expect they serve pellegrino. I was really thinking of a simpler one. The food was served I believe within 15 minutes of "window of good mood" and we were delighted on the food. The sushi were prepared good and fresh which is the standard way and my tempura was crunchy and served on the side and my bowl has good amount of noodles has lots of chicken meat. That's a two thumbs up! This place is situated on the busy four corners and if you are driving there is a public parking spot nearby. I believe its 50 cents per 30 minutes. Check left and right when crossing the street. I highly recommend you guys to visit this place either dine in or order to go. read more

My new favorite sushi place. Sushi is well prepared and each roll has its own distinctive taste. I find that at lots of other places, somehow all the rolls seem to taste the same. This small shop is minimally decorated and unassuming, but the service and the rolls are anything but simple! The staff is quick and kind and extremely helpful. The rolls were phenomenal. We got Volcano, Inferno, Kyo maki, yellowtail jalapeno, and Toro signature roll. These were all fantastic. The smoked salmon in the inferno roll really makes that roll stand out, followed closely by the fresh citrusy spice of that yellowtail jalapeno roll with the ponzu! The Toro signature roll was really good, but in my opinion, not special enough to warrant being the highest priced roll. Being new Westchester residents, we've found our sushi spot! read more

I really hate giving a bad review, unfortunately we found Kyo to be lackluster at best. After reading the previous reviews I thought this would be a good option after shopping in the nearby Organic Market (a Hartsdale gem btw). Upon ordering after coming in from the cold, we welcomed the starters of hot Miso soup, steamed shrimp Shui Mai & green tea which warmed us well, sadly it was all downhill from there... My sushi & sashimi were definitely fresh, but on the dry side and served in a very miniscule portion. Hmmmm... He ordered the Teriyaki chicken, and informed me, it was bland, dry and rubbery. Not fresh. He ate a third and did not take home leftovers. (When the food is good, we take home leftovers). Maybe Kyo has seen better days before tonight. The place felt a bit dusty and old, it could use a fresh coat of paint and cleaning. I've ordered a few times now and am always impressed - quick delivery and quality sushi. I don't love their carrot ginger dressing or salads, but the sushi and Japanese dishes are great. The chicken in the chicken katsu is really good quality. The service was lacking a tad bit but I don't blame them. They had a lot of takeout orders and people just kept on calling, which is a sign that people enjoy this place as much as I do. They definitely need to set the fan on in the front door to stop the cold from getting in during the wintertime, the cold creeps in and you can feel it. Came here after searching for restaurants in the area. This spot came up as a 4.5 stars which honestly surprised me. This could be a case of the people in town being very kind. I hope that doesn't come off as negative but I have this place as more of a 3 or 4 and not in the 4.5-5 range. First off it is very hot in there. I dont know if they crank the heat during the day but it is borderline uncomfortable. The server was extremely nice but I was a little worried that it was lunch time and no one was there. Nevertheless, we ordered some food since we were hungry. We tried a few different rolls. All were pretty solid but I cannot remember the names. I remember the special california roll which was good but not my favorite. The sushi rolls tasted fresh and they had a lot of different options depending on your mood. As you know if you have read my review I love when places have great easily accessible wifi. This place is one of them. There are two Sushi restaurants, literally on opposite ends of the Hartsdale strip: Azuma, closer to the Hartsdale train station that's very nice on the eyes but expensive and on top of that, my Sushi rolls were overwhelmed with mayonnaise. However, in my experience, Kyo's sushi- closer to Central Avenue, has been flavorful. Kyo, short for kyodai, is owned by two brothers from Queens and make sure Kyo runs like a well-oiled machine. You can't go wrong with their dishes and sushi, that are precisely made. And when I ask, "does it have a lot of mayonnaise?", I don't get the run around and will not be surprise with mayo-drenched sushi. No gimmicks here! Be cognizant, this is a non-reservation spot; and prepare to wait 15-20 minutes to just sit on a Friday night 9pm rush hour. People have chosen Kyo, because of its quality and reasonable price. I had some light shopping to do with one of my colleagues in the area and I remembered how much I enjoyed Kyo Sushi last time I ate here. Since she lives in the area and is a fan of it as well, we decided to stop here for dinner. Kyo's decor and layout is simple - sushi bar to the left, tables lining the wall to the right. Mostly light wood tones throughout with adult contemporary music softly playing in the background. It's not a big restaurant, but it feels very open. I felt the need to update my review to a 5 because tonight I was reminded how well Kyo executes two hallmarks of a good restaurant: the food and customer service. Their rolls are awesome - tonight we shared the Midori roll, special California roll, shrimp tempura roll, and spicy tuna roll. They were all totally delicious and super fresh. We also ordered something called the Chelsea roll - an off-menu item which is basically a spicy tuna roll topped with shrimp tempura - really good. The service here is awesome - our waiter was super friendly without being clingy; it was totally refreshing to see - even if the food wasn't as good as it is the service would still make this place a go-to for me. This place sadly has seemed to turn into a mostly take out place (probably following Covid I'm guessing). We ate here and the place was empty on a Saturday night the entire time (well over an hour). It was very cold inside and only delivery people were coming in and out. We waited quite a while for our sushi and I believe it's because the one sushi chef was making all the take out orders which we saw being boxed up right in front of us. The sushi did not taste super fresh and oddly, my husband and I both had some stomach issues the following morning (which has literally never happened to us after having sushi, which we have almost every week from another place). It could have been unrelated but it's a bit suspicious. Won't be returning here unfortunately. read more

We both had Sashimi lunch box which was okay - good cut size of fish, but nothing to write home about. We were looking for something spicy, so our waiter recommended Yellow Tail Jalapeño roll - this roll was absolutely bland, and a tiny sliver of jalapeño was not helping at all. The place is small and unassuming, but that sushi roll was one of the most delicious and freshest rolls I've ever had. It's called a Kotto roll.
