Depending on what you are looking for this may or may not be the store for you. The selection for prom and Homecoming is just ok. Not a very large selection and not where we wound up buying. There are other stores that are actually tailored to Homecoming and Prom that is a much better option. I have been here with a friend wedding dress shopping and that did not turn out well either. A lot of the wedding dresses are cheaper made but not less expensive. We wound up finding a dress elsewhere. Now that's not to say David's Bridal is not an option for people. It is. It just depends on what you are looking for if you will find what you want or not..... read more

I made an appointment a week in advance to get my bridesmaids fitted for their wedding dresses so they knew their measurements. I drove an hour out to this store just to be told "I was put down for alterations" instead of fittings. The employee also turned us away by saying we don't do any fittings unless you buy from us. The employee refused to get measurements on my girls for my wedding and now I have to find another place to get that done. Definitely don't recommend wasting your time making an appointment here. I came with my mom just to try a few wedding dresses on. I made the mistake of not making an appointment, and even though the website says you don't need to make one, apparently you do. The manager said I couldn't try on dresses without a consultant, which didn't make any sense to me. After complaining, (not my finest moment), she politely offered to help me. I cannot remember her name, but she was fabulous. Very attentive, (even though I was totally fine just finding things on my own because I didn't make an appointment ), and she ended up pulling dresses that I would have never tried on. I fell in love with one that she pulled for me and said yes to the dress. 100% recommended the Hagerstown David's Bridal. Made an appointment for my 3 bridesmaids to find dresses. When we arrived, the two women at the door asked one of the consultants if she was busy with anyone, and she wasn't (which right away made it seem like they were unprepared for our arrival even though the appointment was made a month prior). The consultant we were given asked if the girls had any styles they wanted to try on, and they said no but were open to trying on anything. One of my bridesmaids asked if they could be measured, and the consultant then measured them. After that, she disappeared and we had to go through the racks ourselves to pick our whatever we could find in those sizes and carry arm-fulls of dresses over to the dressing room area. At this point, the store was empty. There were no other appointments going on at this time. When we went back to the fitting rooms, we saw there were only 2 dressing rooms assigned for my 3 bridesmaids. Since no one else was in the store and each wall was lined with dressing rooms, I tracked down our consultant to ask if they could open one more dressing room for us. She said she wasn't allowed to have any more than the 2 rooms for her appointments "and also because there are other appointments coming." (Side note: the store was still just as empty when we left as when we were there--the "other appointments" never happened during our one hour time window.) While my bridesmaids were taking turns in the fitting rooms, our consultant was nowhere to be found. I was helping them in and out of the dresses, giving them feedback, pulling additional dresses, and basically doing the consultant's job for her. At one point she actually did return to ask how everything was going. One of my bridesmaids replied by saying the process was very overwhelming. The consultant agreed: "It can be very overwhelming..." THEN WHY WON'T YOU HELP US?! It's very clear that the staff at David's Bridal are undertrained or just completely incapable of providing quality customer service. Unless we can't find dresses elsewhere, I doubt we'll be back. read more

Bought a dress in afternoon, left it for alterations to be done the following day, phoned to return dress when store opened and was told too late that it was already cut. Now, I purchased this dress late in the day, I think they cut it as soon as I walked out to force a sale. Plus, the alteration fees were excessive, in my opinion. The local manager was helpful and refunded the dress, but the alteration fees were still billed (tacking the straps which came apart when touched and the cut off the bottom and hem). I was charged a huge rush fee. Again, because if their quick cutting, I am stuck. I phoned at store open and was told the seamstress was not there and the manager would call back. I phoned a half hour later and was told the dress was cut. Now I wonder if they didn't take that time to cut the dress to force me to keep it. UDATE: Oct. 22... I normally go to this store once a year to purchase my low heels bling bling sandals. I purchased my wedding shoes from them almost 11 years ago. They never speak or greet me. The young lady look over at me and gave me eye contact, but she looked and walked past me. I notice each and every time I go here- they only speak and greet certain people. I took a pair of really nice bling sandals with a heel up to purchase, I stood there a few minutes but the 2 ladies walked up to the counter and didn't say anything.i have given them so many chances to get it right I would love to chat with the owner of this location and I will never go here ever again!!! read more

I ordered a dress from this location for my daughter for prom. The lady called me last week and said the dress has came in but I need to pick it up by april 2nd. If not they can SHIP IT to me. Guess who has to pay 15 for shipping. So that was a NO. I called them today, to inform them I will not be able to get there till Friday. I don't live there. The person on the phone ask me why I will not be able to pick it up. Where do I live? Then I hear her on the phone really thinking hard in the background. I just say, what is the problem!!! ‍‍Can I not come get it Friday, I don't understand what the big deal is about the pick up day. Her comment, was I dont make the rules I just try to follow them. I had to SWITCH UP!! My comment was, is the manager available because it shouldn't be this serious to change my pick up date. You asking inappropriate questions about where I live and it seems your having a difficult time with the date change. Tuesday to Friday of the same week. I guess my daughter's dress, that I paid money for ALREADY is going to make david bridal have to rent a storage unit because they will not be able to store her dress with all the other dresses they have there.‍ Extremely disappointed in your service and when I pick up the dress, I will let you know. Just ridiculous!! Bad Customer Service at this location. I should have picked up on that since our first visit, we signed in and the lady was speaking to us. Then someone else in the store came over and needed help. The girl told us to wait a second as she went to help this other customer, after she was working with us. I told her if she was not available is their someone else who could help us because we were here before that lady came over. Now she want to dismiss us!! Stay away! My sister and I had a horrible experience with this store, its management and Marion, who is some kind of regional customer service manager (sp) both during the ordering of a bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses. My sister, the bride, and a few of her bridesmaids went in to try on and order the bridesmaid dresses. All went well. After the appointment, however, we called to check in on our bridesmaid dresses and were told they'd arrive on July 8th (two days after the wedding!). Obviously, that's not going to work! We were never told about the ridiculously long shipping period for dresses ordered in-store. We thought it would be similar to online -- two of the bridesmaids had already ordered in store and the dresses were shipped within a week. Why is there such a huge difference?! It makes no sense. The worst part was, during the whole ordeal of trying to get someone to find our dresses somewhere to ship in time for the wedding, we contacted their corporate offices to complain about the customer service frustration we were experiencing. Well, even after we thought the ordeal was finally over, Marion, who is some kind of regional manager for the company, made a harassing phone call to the bride when she found out we had contacted corporate with our concerns. Is this is the kind of person you want fielding customer complaints and service issues? We were shocked by how hostile and combative she was. We also had several issues with the bridal gown ordering earlier in the year -- including them ordering the gown in the wrong size. Luckily, we had time to get that fixed. We should have taken that as a hint of more problems to come. My recommendation would be to take your bridal business elsewhere if you want to stay stress-free during your wedding planning! read more

David's bridal gave us an appointment time of 2:00. At 2:30 a consultant came to us. We helped her pull the dresses that we had thirty minutes to choose. She then came back forth to "help" us. There was a wide selection of dresses and sizes (I needed a very small size). With the help of my friends we decided on one after the consultant went to lunch. We also felt rushed from her asking which we liked best. Another consultant helped us more towards the end. read more

We had an appointment and were assigned to Ruth. Ruth took the time to listen to my daughter (the Bride) and then took great measurements. She found dresses that my daughter liked, and kept building upon the feedback that my daughter gave her. She really took the time to listen and pick up on the cues that my daughter gave her. The seamstress came over and explained the alteration process. Ruth gave us excellent customer service. We were surrounded by other brides, and felt like they were all receiving personal and excellent care and attention, as well. At the end, we left after saying "yes to the dress!" read more

You would think that after spending almost 1600.00 on a wedding dress that they would at least put it in a garment bag instead of a "trashbag" when the dress comes in. Now I have to go out and buy one so my daughters dress is protected until her wedding day. UPDATE: my sister purchased her wedding dress and her dress, infact came with a garment bag so if you have company wide "policies" make sure everyone is doing it. I have another daughter as well as my nephews finance looking for wedding dresses and I will be telling them about my experience with this company and will refer them to another local business who infact DOES give garment bags for ALL of their wedding dresses when purchased. It only cost me 14.00 for the bag, which isn't a lot BUT that's not my point. 1600.00 for a dress I'm pretty sure a company like David's bridal could at least through in a bag to protect the investment like many other companies already do. read more

On Saturday 9/16/2017 I visited the Hagestown, MD location for my FIRST experience trying on wedding dresses. My experience was absolutely horrifying and made me feel less than important on a day which should have been amazing. Prior to coming to the store, I called and spoke with Katie, to discuss the process, and to ensure that dresses in my size would be available to try on as I was traveling a distance to try on - she was successful in letting me know from my favorite list what was available and that the consultant would have my list ready and would be able to clip/pin/pull the dress to ensure I would be able to see the figure of the dress to determine if I would like to purchase. On the day of my appointment, we were greeted by Jordan who assumed my friend was the bride. She let us know who our consultant was and was very friendly at first. Once she realized that I was the bride ( I am plus-size and black ) her entire attitude changed. She switched my consultant to the only black person on staff that day, and began being VERY disrespectful and dismissive. We waited about 15 minutes to meet our consultant, so we perused the racks to find dresses in my size I might like to try on. Jordan walked past and aggressively told us there was a limit to 4 at a time - which we told her was not a problem. We were met by Chardonnay who did not have my favorite list in hand, but ensured us that she would get it. She took my measurements and asked what sizes I typically wear, and then left to find the dresses. My friend offered to help me in and out of dresses. Chardonnay was of very little assistance as my friend had to do the holding/clipping of the dress since Chardonnay was not around. When she finally showed up, I asked for assistance and she said she couldn't do much of anything and just awkwardly stood behind me - which did nothing to assist me in seeing the dress more clearly. She brought out a dress that was not on my list - i asked to see which dress it was and she insisted that it was on the list i asked to see where, and she said " oh well the top is kinda similar to this dress"---- so not it was not a dress on my list. She brought a size 20 dress, it did not fit at ALL. We nicely asked that the next dresses be 22 and up so it would be easier to see. She brought out only 1 dress from my favorite list - in a size 16 --- obviously would not fit. At this point - it was evident that this store and these consultants did not want my business and treated me like the scum of the earth. I am incredibly mortified, feel worthless, and cannot believe that the manager could offer nothing but " i'm sorry". I opened a credit card with this company to purchase my dress, and i now feel that my money is not welcomed at David's Bridal. read more

I actually dread giving a 3 star review. But here is why. I recently went with my soon to be sister-in-law and some others to go all around dress shopping. The consultants were extremely nice and polite. For our first visit we were going to find THE dress. Our consultant was very nice and was upfront about trying dresses on out of the price range which I respected. We found an amazing dress but we were a little frustrated because in the beginning she said to pull out the dresses that we wanted to start with and after we asked several times about a certain dress and she kept saying she would bring, she never did. Again, we did find a dress but it would be nice to see what we liked considering it was a style super similar to the one we got. I did try on a bridesmaid dress and the consultant was just as encouraging to me. The reason for the 3 stars, is the very unfortunate and annoying pick up policy. I realize this is a company policy but for people who live far away, it is very inconvenient that you only have a week to pick it up. And then say we'll we can ship it for $15 after already spending thousands on the dress, etc. When we went back the second time, the consultants were not as nice. There was a particular lady from the previous time who was as bubbly as the first but the ladies at the front entrance were not very welcoming (maybe because we were picking up and not buying?), I don't know. We tried the dress on and after waiting for 5 minutes to ask whether we can leave or not we were met with a rather sharp "why couldn't you?" So overall, not too bad but not what I was expecting either. It would be nice to feel welcome at all times considering the money being dumped into the place and for the reason you're there. read more

First off, I don't think David's Bridal should make appointments for the SAME TIME when they open. For those of us who are early, if not on time, I think its a little ridiculous to wait outside the store. Maybe start appointments about 15-30 minutes after the store opens so you're prepared. Anyway, the girl who helped me was very nice. I just gotten engaged about a month prior and really had no idea what I wanted, but I knew what I didn't want. She was very helpful, did a bunch of running around. The part that really turned me off, from the very beginning, was that they didn't have chairs for families to sit in. The girl informed us that they decided to remove the chairs because larger families were fighting over chairs. Ok, I get that. But when I was there...it was my mother and my sister. If I would have brought my elderly grandparents, the store would need to provide us a chair or we would have left immediately. This is absolutely ridiculous. Regional needs to correct this right away. You will lose business over this. You either need to limit the guests that people are allowed to bring, or limit the chairs each family gets. If there are any problems, ask them to leave. Seriously, that's ridiculous. I purposefully did not stay as long because I knew my mom and sister were getting tired of standing. read more

New review. What happened to the customer service? This location went from 5 stars to 2. I've been a customer for almost 5 years for military functions my daughters proms. Today was just horrible. I was greeted immediately when I walked in, which is nice but that's where cs stopped. I was looking for a mother of the bride dress. I looked and selected dresses for about 15 minutes. Not one person asked to start a room for me. Granted, it was busy but I passed 3 or 4 different associates not one asked if I needed help. Finally someone notice my arms were full. I got a room and started the task of trying and photographing (my daughter lives out of state). In the 30 minutes I was in the change room no one asked if I need help with sizes, zippers, nothing. There were two associates right out my door neither asked anything (even though their clients had already chosen their dresses and only taking pics). I realize I am not as important as a bride or prom girl but I'm not invisible. It's bad enough I have to do this without my daughter but I left feeling horrible. A few months ago, my Daughter and her bridesmaids scheduled a dress appointment to find bridesmaids dresses. An attendant there spent many hours with them. As we had to hurry to attend another function, we were going to purchase the dresses later. Not to worry she assured us because she had all of the measurements as well as their different dress likes and would put them into the computer-just call to order. One of the bridesmaids had already called and ordered her dress. When I called, to order the others, we discovered that the employee who helped us was no longer employed there (ok we understand) but while she did enter measurements, she didn't enter the dresses they wanted. Christie, the MGR, and her Assistant MGR, helped me and let me tell you this-they know their inventory and dresses! I texted photos from the fitting and they worked their magic! They even identified that the one bridesmaid-who already ordered and received her dress-ordered the wrong one (order number off by one digit)(not sure if a store order error in trying to identify the dress she wanted). They offered to exchange it for the correct dress! All dresses have been correctly identified and ordered with plenty of time before the wedding! I had a great experience at the Hagerstown David's Bridal. I arrived with 8 people and myself -- Carol was my consultant and she was great from start to finish. She listened to what I wanted and didn't allow the other voices in my crowd to talk over me. It was Carol who found a dress that I hadn't seen before. One of the best experiences I've had when it comes to finding bridesmaids dresses. My sister's soon-to-be sister-in-law asked her to be in her wedding this coming winter and Hagerstown's DB was the closest place we could get to. They promptly greeted us at the door, where our helper, Kat, attended to us. Now, my sister is expecting, so she definitely needed a dress that could be altered depending on how much she's showing during the wedding. Kat went above and beyond, showing us great, accessible dresses, as well as offered to contact my sister's soon-to-be sister-in-law to let her know the information on the different dresses we picked. Myself, another bridesmaid and the bride all went to look at bridesmaids dresses Walking in the women that greeted us/ checked us in was very nice and welcoming but that's as far as the good customer service goes Our consultant was late ( we get it happens we weren't mad) She get us one dress and then is whisked away for her bridal appointment She was double booked so we now go and find dresses ourselves only to have her return maybe every 15 minutes She never pulls a dress for us other than the first one we had to do the rest We found a dress thankfully but then had to wait for her to come back to ask her to find out for us how long it would take for each size to be shipped which takes another 10 minutes We eventually leave with a sticky note telling us what size we are and the color and item number of the dress All in all very disappointed with the costumer service and will not be taking my bridesmaids there to look for a dress And never ever do in during the bridal Christmas read more

We visited the Hagerstown md David's bridal. My daughter fell in love with a dress. After much persisting from us they found a small. We asked if it came any smaller and was told no without even going to go check. We got home and my daughter found the dress on David's bridal website and it actually came two sizes smaller. We ordered it and we have been checking our email everyday to check status. Well up until 4/4/16 it was suppose to ship from 4/7 to 4/11 but today 4/5/16 I receive an email stating my order has been cancelled. I call the 1800 number and finally get to talk to someone and am told they r out of the size I ordered. I have ordered the shoes from there to to match dress and can't return them. So for my daughters senior year she is devastated that she does not have a dress now. read more

As a mother of the bride you want to be a part of every little detail of your daughters wedding, even going back to the shop to pick up the wedding gown. We arrived at the Hagerstown David's Bridal and after waiting several minutes before we were ever acknowledged, finally a store employee asked if we could be helped. My daughter answered: I am here to pick up my wedding dress. Much to our utter surprise and shock the employee comes out with the dress draped across her arm in a clear plastic bag!!!! Now $1400.00 may not seem like a lot of money to some, but surely a wedding gown deserves a little more than a plastic bag!!! I asked that my daughter try her dress on and we were taken back (placed a sticky note with my daughters name on the door) of the dressing room and left. NEVER once did anyone check to see if any help was needed. Then is when I asked for a garment bag and was told they didn't have any, but I could purchase one for $10.95. Now I have just given them $1400.00 and they wouldn't give me one!!! I can go to Belk (my store of choice) and purchase a dress for $50.00 and get a least a white garment bag that no one can see thru. Now you tell me is this customer service???? I THINK NOT!!!! After speaking with "the manager" and told again we could purchase a bag, I was a little more than irate!!!! We left the store with the manager, asst. managers business card AND A GARMENT BAG FOR MY DAUGHTERS WEDDING DRESS, THAT I DID NOT PAY FOR!!! Finally given to us!!! A call to David's Bridal Corporate office was made and a complaint registered. We were told the dress should have NEVER been delivered in a CLEAR PLASTIC BAG to begin with!!! We were assured we would hear back from the corporate office within 48 hours with some sort of restitution What should have been a pleasant, no fuss, delivery of my daughters wedding dress, turned into an unpleasant, non caring, emotional disaster!!!! Sooooooooo............I GIVE DAVIDS BRIDAL A BIG THUMBS DOWN!!!! They take your money, then could care less about customer service or satisfaction!!! I am the absolute furthest thing from Bridezilla and am understanding about mistakes and sometimes bad apples working in customer service and they shouldn't reflect as a whole the company itself. But I absolutely have to post a review on this store to warn every bride who is looking: DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT GOOD PRICES, GOOD SERVICE OR FRIENDLY PEOPLE. In this case, Davids Bridal is the absolute WORST place to go for ANYTHING, let alone to go to find dresses for one of your most important days of your life. Since day one, this store has been absolutely rude and inefficient to both me and my bridal party, as well as my close friends who I have mistakenly referred there, including the district manager who even called me after I filed a formal complaint. Incident #1: I have 7 bridesmaids, and for their dress fitting, the woman helping us stated repeatedly that we could get the same dresses and sizes. It took us 4 hours to decide on one. I felt uncomfortable working with her because it was apparent that since it was her last day (she said she was quitting), she was attempting to collect on money and go home. We needed efficiency and accuracy for this large group of ladies. After this long, we went to pay and she said 'well, I didn't check before, but actually I don't have all the right dresses in their size. ONE of your bridesmaids will have to get a larger size and then pay to have it altered.' So because this employee refused to put in the time and no one was there to ensure she was doing her job properly, she was going to ask my bridesmaid to pay 150+ plus for a dress that was 4 SIZES TOO BIG and then ask her to pay to have it taken down to the right size or start over. WAIT, WHAT?! Incident #2: My fiance's niece went in to dress shop and wasn't sure if she wanted to buy her wedding dress without her fiances permission and while she was attempting to call him, the woman fitting her at Davids said "I think you should just get the dress. I think I should be paid for my time here today." She should have been terminated on the spot for pressuring a customer to buy a dress by guilting them into thinking they OWE her commission. How despicably unprofessional. Incident #3: My bridesmaid called the store during business hours to simply ask if her dress had arrived, and the woman placed her on hold and then came back and told her that they were busy and it would be best for her to call back later. I'm sorry, but in retail, I have NEVER heard of a store employee answering the store phone and telling the client on the line that for their questions 'they were just TOO busy' to answer them. Incident #4: I bought 7 pairs of wedding shoes from the store and paid to have them dyed like they are displayed in the store. Not only did it take over a month to dye 7 pairs of shoes, but no one even bothered to let me know they were ready. Better yet, they look NOTHING like the displayed color. And due to their no-return policy and my wedding in 60 days, I am screwed with messed up shoes. Fast forward a few weeks, I contacted Davids Bridal customer service number to file a complaint on the store and the district manager called me within an hour to apologize and she offered to 'comp' the bridesmaids alterations that they messed up in incident #1, and said she could schedule an appointment free of charge and they would take care of it 100%. She seemed really kind and apologetic. Incident #5: My bridesmaid went in for her alterations appointment this morning, and first, the store manager tried to tell her that the DM made NO note of the alterations being free. Then she rudely stated that they would comp the alterations but she would still have to pay $60 for the hem, because "everyone needs a hem" which wasn't approved to be comped by the DM. 5 incidents and they can't comp a $60 dollar hem? So now my bridesmaid will be taking it to another seamstress for the hem, who will be doing it for much cheaper. That same bridesmaid had an appointment October 8th for dress shopping for her OWN wedding, and per her experience, she is taking her business elsewhere. Furthermore, I regret spending over $4000.00 at your store and I will never, ever refer anyone else there as long as I live. I felt unwelcome, manipulated, frustrated, angry and literally disregarded. I've been in a customer service industry for 10 years and would never DREAM of allowing people run my company the way this store is being run. In fact, my recommendation to Davids Bridal is to fire every employee in that store and those running it, and hire my 4 year old as the district manager. He would do a much better job running that store than your current employees are. read more

I am writing this review in regards to the David's Bridal Photography Service. They sent a photographer for my son and daughter-in-laws wedding who had obviously never done a wedding before, tried to cancel the photos due to lack of payment (we paid in full two months in advance), then when we received the photos, all but 10 were unusable. They offered us little comfort and only offered a refund of a fourth of the cost of the service. read more

I attended an appointment today at David's Bridal in Hagerstown with my sister (the bride) and our mom. We made our appointment a couple weeks ago here and at one other bridal shop so I could come along while in town. I got my wedding dress at this David's about 5 years ago and had a great experience. I was so disappointed that this was not my sister's experience today. The first thing we noticed was that there were no chairs other than a single chair in each dressing room. So, my mom and I alternated between standing and sitting on the floor during the hour and a half that my sister tried on dresses. We asked where the chairs had gone and were told that they were removed because families fought over them. This hardly seems a way to run a bridal shop. If it really was such a problem wouldn't benches that aren't easily moved be a solution? But no chairs... Then, two dresses into my sister's appointment the consultant mentioned she had another bride showing up that she would be helping at the same time. We spent the rest of the appointment helping my sister into most of her dresses because the consultant was missing. Eventually, my sister requested that my mom and I started perusing the racks because the consultant had nearly stopped. She was fortunate to find one dress that is a contender and the consultant did find a fantastic veil to match. We didn't mention any of these issues to my sister because we hoped she hadn't noticed in the excitement. Once we were in the parking lot she confirmed that she had noticed it all and the experience made it too difficult to decide if the dress might be the right one (especially when they started rushing her along). And it all stood in such stark contrast to our experience at another shop just days before. If she decides today's dress is worth another look, I think we'll be looking to visit a another David's Bridal. read more

My daughter & her bridesmaids had an appointment at 1:00 @ Davids Bridal in Hagerstown Md to look for bridesmaid dresses. We arrived early & checked in with the front desk. The lady at the front desk told the girls to go pick out dresses. Our consultant Kelsey came over to the girls & told them they should not be picking dresses out off the rack. Very rudely!! The girls were only doing what they were told to do. Kelsey was very short & rude through the whole process. Kelsey then 30 min into the appointment disappears, so we go back to the front , to purchase the dresses.Thank goodness my daughter already had a vision of the style she wanted her bridesmaids to wear. My daughter appointment was cut short by 30 min!! Not the experience we were expecting!! read more

I had a much better experience at this David's Bridal. I went to the store about 20 minutes before close and they were so accommodating and I did not feel rushed. I went to try on a specific gown that they had pulled and had ready for me. When I tried it on, all the employees gathered around me and made me feel so special. Even though I was the last customer, after I "said yes to the dress," (I knew it was the one, just needed to try it on), they had me ring the bell and make a wish for my wedding and for my marriage. It was really nice. I know this was somewhat of a unique experience with me just going to try on one gown, but it was so much better than my experience at the Rockville location. read more

Took my daughter to shop for prom dresses. What a horrible experience the staff wasn't helpful at all. They stuck her name on a dressing room and pointed her in a direction of dresses. This is her first prom shopping experience. After about 5 dresses and some tears we drove to Chambersburg to J&B Bridal and had an amazing experience she found a beautiful dress and had a one on one stylelest help her every step of the way read more

I had a horrible experience with David's Bridal. I went to David's bridal to buy a tea length wedding dress that I had seen online. I was going to get married in three months and this was the only local store that I knew I could get a dress from in a short period of time. I brought my mother, sister, and maid of honor. I had already set an appointment in advance. When we first walked into the store, two associates were arguing over who had which client. We waited patiently and a male staff asked us if we had an appointment and asked us if we want to look around to see if I could find any dresses that I like to try on. An associate came up to me and asked me what my name was and then asked if I was there to buy a quinceanera dress (a quinceanera is a party for 15 year old Latin American girls). I am 24 years old and caucasian. I did laugh, but this should have been the indication that I should've just walked out the door. The associate that helped me find dresses was not helpful at all. I am a size 12 in dresses and was not having luck when I came to zipping up my size 14 dress. Instead of being polite and encouraging that we would find a dress that would fit, it felt like the associate gave up on me. My maid of honor and my sister went around and found a dress and asked if I could try it on. Though it was not tea length and did not fully zip up, I tried it on and loved it. The seamstress came out and told me that the dress could be made into a tea length and that she could let out the fabric for it to fit. I bought the dress that day. The next time I went to my fitting and hemming appointment, the dress did fit and zipped up. When a different seamstress asked about how many inches I wanted to take off from the dress, she said that there was no way that the dress to be made into a tea length. I started to cry and she went to go get the other seamstress that I had originally talked to. The seamstress that told me that I could have the dress to tea length denied ever saying that she could. I didn't have it in writing about it being made into a tea length so I couldn't fight back about it. The shortest they could get it was so my wedding shoes barely showed. I was not happy because I had spent money and couldn't get the money back since it already had work done to it. When I went back to get my dress, it was as good as it was going to get. The seamstress that hemmed my dress would not stop talking about how I was crying the last time I was there and how she had done everything to my liking. It made me feel like a horrible person. I did not have the bridal experience that I thought I would have like most girls dream of. I would not recommend the store for any brides. read more

We have been told that there are other fish in the sea. Yet there seems to always be that one ex that we run back to a few times, as if they didn't break our hearts enough the first time. Eventually, when we meet our life-partner, we realize that we were just biding our time until we found our forever-person. I'm here to tell you that you don't need to make that same mistake when shopping for your wedding formalwear. Allow me to explain to you why after taking them back too many times, I am dumping #DavidsBridal. My first bad experience came in 2013 at the Rockville, MD store when I (and the bride-to-be) were shopping for my bridesmaids dress. When it was time to check out, there was a woman posted at the "check-in desk" on her personal cell phone. We waited, alone, at the checkout counter for several minutes until whispering and motioning to her (so as not to verbally interrupt her obviously personal call) at which point she said into the phone, "These fuckin' bitches." I immediately requested to speak with the manager who apologized for her employee's behavior, discounted my dress, and sent us on our way. I was satisfied (enough) with the result, although two years later I am still in disbelief at the audacity of that woman to speak to/about me in such a way. Moving on to my own "Say Yes" experience. In every effort to avoid store #47, I made an appointment at the Hagerstown, MD store first thing on a Saturday morning. The week before my appointment, I received a voicemail from one of the store employees warning me that due to a new company policy, the store would no longer be providing chairs to my guests and to please limit the number of people I bring with me to the store. In spite of a plea from my mother and my sister (the mother of a newborn), the store would not budge on the issue. We were told that ultimately people were getting too comfortable and partying in the store. I can see why they would be worried about a 54 year old woman and a new/breast-feeding mother boozing and carrying on in the store. What I do find ironic is that they hired a DJ to play party music. Sort of seems like the perfect time to pop some bottles, eh? Needless to say I bought my dress from a fabulous bridal salon (Posh in Urbana, MD), but remembered that David's had a veil that I really did... love. Against my better judgement, I went to my home store. That's right. This fuckin' bitch went into Store #47. I asked them to look up the veil that I tried on in Hagerstown. Now, I realize that I didn't have an appointment, but the woman at the desk was very accommodating (she and three others were sitting around chatting and playing with each other's hair). She looked up my veil, showed it to me, and after a few minutes said she would be right back. Well, she was, but she brought several customers back with her. I assume that this was her actual appointment, but at this time and over the next 10 minutes or so, about four employees walked around and over me and I struggled with cathedral-length veils in the middle of the store before I decided to drop everything and walk out, nobody stopping me in my tracks. It was that moment that I reminded myself that I don't shop at David's Bridal! We go to David's because it is convenient. They have good lead times on dresses, their catalogs are online, clearance sales come often, and they have every size you can imagine including a line of women's sizes which are often hard to find at other bridal salons. But like the ex, why would we put up with them? Their service is terrible, and their quality isn't that great either. So if all is said and done why write this review? I hope that everyone in search of formalwear for their event will remember that you can support small businesses (while paying very reasonable prices), find amazingly stunning ensembles, and have a great experience doing it. My consultant was FABULOUS I love her i was not rushed and she was helping me and another bride but she gave us equal help because of the other bride running over her appointment time.....as I loved a few dresses as I narrowed it down and explained what I liked and didn't like she pulled me a beautiful A frame ball gown that I fell in love with and she let me talk with family and decide if it was the dress for me (but I knew it was) she came over because she seen I was crying and asked if I liked or disliked it and I stated she pulled my perfect dress and I thanked her for understanding and paying attention to my likes and wants in a dress and I have used her 3 times since for brides maid dresses she's so great!!!!! She had red long curly hair I can't remember what her name was!!!! For those who had a horrible experience with them in so sorry but mine was fantastic I recommend them and the girl I delt with....ringing the bell and saying yes to the dress was the best experience and I instantly cried even harder read more
