Worst service ever! Our waiter did not come back one time. Almost 2 full hours for the full unacceptable experience. I even had to go to the bar to get my own refill of iced tea, asked for another cup of ice and the waitress set the glass down next to the iced tea. (for me to fill it). No apologies, no "sorry the food is taking so long" by the way, it was cold when we got it. No concessions until we told them we weren't paying for the sandwich (BLT) with BLACK bacon. I live a couple of blocks away and come here often. The food is hit or miss, and unfortunately usually a miss. Well tonight was a total whiff. I ordered my go to dish (chicken piccata), which 90% of the time, pretty good. However, tonight it flat out sucked! It came out more like a noodle Caesar salad with chicken breast jerky atop. Seriously, it was pretty bad (see attached pic). However, the service was great (as usual). It's because of the service that I keep returning. Hopefully there will be more hits in the future, because I do like the location and bar staff (Judy, Courtney and Kelsey rock). The one weird thing they have started doing is pouring the wine into little shot glass type things, then dumping that into the wine glass.. kind of cheesy and "chain restaurant" like. I consider this place more of a neighborhood bar/restaurant, so pour your customers a healthy glass of wine and stop being cheap! That's all I have to say about this place. read more

Never had a problem with the food or service. The place is very nicely decorated and looks more upscale than it actually is. The outside patio is a great place for outdoor dinning. Well let me start by saying that the bus girl who was the highlight of the evening with her attention to details despite the fact she was smacking her gum is the only reason I'm giving this disaster of a experience 2 stars. The manager that allowed our untrained waiter to serve us should be slapped on the paws and I say paws because he/she runs a dog of a restaurant. An untrained waiter made the experience worse when my simple request of blue cheese crumbles on the side were delivered with a "by the way those are 50 cents extra" wow on a golf course please. Moving on to the main course/disaster, 2 of my guests ordered the filet 1 mid rare 1 mid. When our waiter presented our entries to the table 1 had a red pick in it indicating It to be the more rare of the two. Our waiter presented the wrong dishes to each party resisting my subtle suggestion as to the of the meaning of the picks. Both were cooked wrong and the insultls doesn't stop there to sear a filet to the point of crustiness is a crime in its own "hello chef wake the u know what up" really what it boils down to is laziness of upper management I can't blame this on the staff I start from the top. read more

We had just finished playing golf and most of the time nice resort golf courses have good food. Well, this was not the case. First we stood there for a while before someone acknowledged us to be seated. The food sounds great on the menu. However, it does live up to the wonderful descriptions. The service is not good. My husband went into David's Grill yesterday and he wasn't wearing a mask (he forgot it...it was his birthday and was excited to have food in his belly). Some lady who was waiting in line looks at him and starts saying "aren't you suppose to wear a mask" so he proceeds to pull his shirt over his face. They seat him and the manager comes over and tells him he has to wear a mask even at the table. My husband said how can you do that when you are eating and drinking but the manager insisted even though there were people sitting at tables in the restaurant not wearing masks. So they left and as they were walking out the lady who spoke her peace in line was hugging on a friend so of course my husband yelled at her to social distance. Now the last time we were there we never wore a mask and sat outside and ate. Nor did anyone else sitting outside wear a mask. You can't pick and choose who wears a mask, how long they can wear it, whether they need to wear it while eating and drinking. And other people need to mind there own business. read more

Went on Sunday afternoon. Lots of golfers beautiful surroundings. Service horrible. People had to "flag" down servers who stayed up at podium talking to each other. We love the ambience of David's Grill, we sat by the fireplace on a spring(winter feeling day). The food is delicious! We are still sad they took the beef skewers and the chorizo burger off the menu which is why we come less frequently than we used to. We too live close and have ride our bikes down for breakfast on numerous weekends. Even though not many customers outside on the patio, it takes a long time to be greeted by anyone, much less asking for coffee and drinks. They will try to take your orders all at once. I was so upset with the terrible service we had two years ago by a waitress during breakfast, I cam back later in the week to complain to the manager. No consistency or willingness to help each other out. A waitress will walk fight by you with a full pit of coffee and not ask if you would like more coffee unless you are seated in their section. Dinner service isn't much better. Slow to take drink orders and food comes out slow and wrong. The bar is your best choice for a nice local bar, but until management implements an overall of its servers and consistency, we will not be back and it is too bad, because it has potential to be a top notch restaurant. read more

I've always had great food at David's. I have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I've always had great service and food. I really like it when I can sit out on the patio and look/listen to the golf course. Very nice. If you like a glass of wine then you should know that the wine selection is good but moderately priced. Last summer they had movies on the golf hole right outside projected on a big screen with popcorn. Very cool. read more

Several years ago, we enjoyed visits to David's at Redhawk. Over the last few years, we have been disappointed with each visit, whether it be a full dinner or just appetizer and drinks. We've given it several chances over the last two years, but after today's visit, we won't be back due to the lack of customer service and low quality meals at inflated prices. Our watery margarita at happy hour was a whopping $12! Our happy hour nachos arrived with unmelted bagged cheese that was cold. It's just a thumbnail of the lack of quality we've received over the last couple of years. It's disappointing because it used to be much better and was really fun! Autumn Berry Salad & the Cobb Salad is highly recommended. The Rueben sandwich was flavorful, but the meat was a little too tough. The burgers scored. They serve an AMAZING generous Bread pudding with vanilla ice cream & whipped cream. The whipped cream was a surprise, but my crew are whipped cream aficionados. Sad little old restaurant trapped in the eighties Chairs peeling apart, my chair actually had a sink hole in the middle! Dark and dreary dining area. Lunch very disappointing, slow service though we were only one table out of about three with customers. Server was very nice, tried, but did not even know the specials of the day. Salad was nasty, drenched in dressing, soggy and wilted lettuce. This place has such a nice location, the course deserves an eating place more upbeat, light, airy. Yes, this place needs to be brought into the 21st century! As for now I will pass, just keep driving to something more worthy of my dining dollars. read more

My wife and I decided to celebrate our 24th anniversary by going out to dinner. The closest place to get a filet was at David's. I've never left a restaurant before, but after 20 minutes of being ignored by multiple servers and not even placing a drink order, we left and went to BJ' instead where we were seated immediately, given an excellent drink suggestion by our server and ordered our food within 5 minutes. The best part when we left David's was that the manager thanked us for coming and I said, "the water was delicious." Clueless! read more

I went to go eat at David's last night for dinner. The service was good, the waitress rarely checked on us and I believe she only checked on us once. I ordered the New York style steak and it was great. The flavor was all there and the meat was cooked well. After dinner we decided to order dessert and we got tiramisu. When the waitress brought it, the dessert looked like it was a day old and looked not that well. I went to go eat it, and it was the worst tiramisu I have ever tasted. The espresso soaked lady fingers on the bottom were not good, and as I said before the cake tasted like it was a day old. read more

Food was cold and the service was horrible. Staff were very unfriendly!!!!!!!!! One of our friends came in a few minutes late and she NEVER got a menu. We waited and waited just to see if they'll offer something to her but no one did and we just decided to leave. My family went to David's Grill today to celebrate Mother's Day. We were seated on the patio and I believe we were the only table that did not have a sun shade. I choose to order off the menu since the brunch menu didn't interest me that much. I ordered the Eggs Benedict - this is typically my test of any restaurant. If you cannot serve a decent eggs benny then I will never be back again. Well, my order arrived and then I had to sit for almost 10 minutes (after asking 2 waiters) for silverware. Good thing i was sitting in the direct sun (actually not), since it took so long to bring me tools to eat with, but it did keep my food warm. We asked for another umbrella but none was ever set up and I was so uncomfortably warm I was barely able to eat any of my food. As for the food, it had no flavor. Last I checked, Hollandaise sauce was to be made with lemon juice as one of the main ingredients - I couldn't taste any lemon. Also, the hash browns had ZERO flavor. Listen people, salt and pepper go a long way to making food palatable. The next time I'm looking for a good breakfast restaurant I'll go to Peg's Glorified Ham and Eggs, they make a much better Eggs Benedict and they aren't 10 miles out of my way. read more

Had dinner here last night for Italian night. My $25 prawn with risotto dinner was AWFUL!!! There was only 4 small prawns amidst a big bowl of undercooked risotto. Now i would expect this from Dennys but not a nice place like this and for the price of the food i'd expect real potatoes. The service can be very iffy too. Valentine's Day, nice dinner, let's go to David's. BIG mistake Will never go back!! We decided to have dinner at the bar, the bartender was rude, slow and her lack of customer service should of been our first clue. We finally got a drink and ordered the Valentine's Day special. Hour later, no soup or salad and no bartender in site. Dinner shows up with the soup and salad and entrée! The bartender who is our server starts to blame everyone else because she was too busy!! The poor kid delivering the mess apologized and was so embarrassed by her actions Needless to say we waited 2hrs for a fatty unseasoned steak and shrimp dinner McDonald's would of been better food and service One star is too much for this place!!!! read more

I can't agree more with all of the other negative reviews. I also live just around the corner from the place and would love to go more often but it is just bad. The food ranges from bad to O.K. I always hold out hope that the service and the food will improve but much to my disappointment it never does. I thought the Peppermill could turn this place around but that also has not happened. It is a shame they are letting such a beautiful place go down in the dumps. read more
