We were there last night, had reservations for a larger group. We were given two tables, not even close to each other. When I asked about a circular table,we were told that it was not available as it was reserved. We waited 1 1/2 hour to receive our food. I've been in Sparks for 4 years now and I'm sorry but the service sucks. The last 2 times I've been there. I sat at the bar and played the poker machines. It took 20 minutes to get a drink. I did order food when the bartender handed me my only drink. The food is good. I didn't get any utensils and used bar napkins until the bar back gave them to me. Bartender never came down to the area where I was. I finally threw $40 on the bar and left. I don't know if it was enough or too much. read more

My family and l just moved to the Wingfield neighborhood and saw that there was a nearby restaurant called "David's Bar and Grill" and they exceeded our expectations! When my family and l walked into the restaurant, this lovely girl named "Kay" greeted us promptly with her smile. She brings a positive atmosphere into the restaurant that my family and l appreciated, being new. Moments later we were greeted by a server named "Katrina." She was able to describe her favorite menu items, which helped my family and I to decide on what to eat. I had a Baja Wrap and my husband got a smash burger. My two kids had chicken tenders and mac & cheese. Everything went well including the kids, free dessert. We also greatly appreciated our server telling us about the community. Can someone get the chef a meat thermometer? Even a burger can be rare one day, and well done the next. For $48 my Filet was cooked to the point of beef jerky. My baked potato was like a potato chip, and the vegetables were slimy and smelled odd. If you're going to charge $48 for a steak, it better be perfect. But a sizzler quality steak should come with a sizzler price. So I just learned again...David's is good for a cocktail and a salad. I had really high hopes for this restaurant but I was unfortunately disappointed. We came tonight for our anniversary dinner, we added that it was our anniversary to our reservation and when the waitress asked if we were celebrating anything we said it was our anniversary! She didn't bring us anything to celebrate which is ok not every restaurant does that but she didn't even offer us a dessert menu just brought the bill like it was time to leave. The entire experience felt super rushed, she asked us for drinks the moment we sat down before we could even pick up the menu and then came back 3 times within the first 10 minutes. When we ordered drinks she was like ok and for food and then seemed frustrated when we didn't know what we wanted yet. While we were eating she came to check on us probably 10-12 times. I do appreciate an attentive wait staff but this was excessive and honestly interrupted our dinner to where we didn't even enjoy it. We live just up the street so I wanted to love it but I don't think we'll be coming back! I really like David's. Is the food the best in Reno? Nope. But they have live music many nights and the ambience is always great. Even on hot days there is a breeze on the patio. I dined with my hubby for brunch earlier this week! We were celebrating, cue the Jameson, and mimosas! We arrived right at the cusp of breakfast and lunch starting; so we ordered lunch! I ordered the French dip, and the hubby ordered the David's burger med. We ordered: lemon pepper wings, fries, and chicken tenders to take back home to our kiddos. Maria was our server, and she was very sweet. She took great care of us! We would love to come back and sit with her; next time, we'll order breakfast. I loved our view of the Red Hawk Golf course. Every time I come here I love it more. It's a great place to come in the winter.. the bar is first come first serve & the bar tenders are super friendly and will know you by name if you come often enough. The dining room is cozy with fireplaces. In the summer I love sitting on the patio. Live music on Thursday nights too. As for the food... I've never had a bad meal. All their breakfast dishes are great and my favorites for dinner are Chicken Piccata or the David's Burger. If you are looking for a fun friendly environment with great food this is the place! read more

Our friends took us to this restaurant for dinner on Friday, 12/6. We had reservations which was smart as this golf clubhouse was very busy. The wood flooring, the wood tables and chairs and high ceiling made it VERY noisy. We were seated and given menus. The busboy got us water and 2 Arnold Palmers. Waitress was friendly. All four of us ordered salads and my hubby also ordered a cup of soup. We also ordered entrees right then and asked that we get our salads and soup first. It was awhile, but here came salads and soup. The Blue cheese dressing was thin and had no chunks of blue cheese in it and wasn't good. Hubby's cup of clam chowder came in a small bowl and it too, was very thin and watery and lukewarm. It came with a regular spoon, no soup spoon. After about 5 minutes here came our entrees! Yikes! We were scrambling to push salads aside and stack what we could to make room. The waitress just commented that "these tables are too small" and carefully shoved the dinner plates onto the corners of the table. Every square inch was covered with dishes and I was even holding one! Finally, the waitress realized that we were completely tied up and started taking a few empty salad plates and the soup bowl off. I asked if she'd take our hot entrees back to the kitchen to keep under the warmer until we could finish our salads, so she did. Then, once we were ready for the entrees, we couldn't find our waitress anywhere! Finally we sent the busboy to the kitchen and here came our waitress out with them. Hubby said his fish and chips tasted blah and overcooked. Our French Dips were very good. The "snakebite fries" were good too. We had trouble getting water refills. Busboy finally came and filled mine and hubby's, but didn't fill our friend's glasses while he was there. Overall, our friends were embarrassed that the meal was so unorganized and sorry they'd brought us there. It seemed they had many new servers who didn't get proper training. At the end, the manager ( I think) came by to see if we needed anything else. No..we just wanted to get outta there! Won't be back! read more

I recently visited this spot for breakfast which is located on a good course. The food was decent and price was good. I would say this a good spot to take your family or friends out on a chill lunch on the green. Nothing really jumped out as super special or delicious. I ordered the eggs benedict , which came with hash browns. Others at the table order French toast, egg omelette, eggs and toast breakfast. The food tasted good, looked good and was plentiful amount to eat. Again, nothing jumped out as super amazing or must have. But with that being said, food wasn't bad also. It was just an average place to go. The staff were very pleasant and very attentive. They were immediate to bring out our beverages, take our order, bring out food and bring out condiments. First time to David's Grill for my birthday dinner. First time drive out to Spanish Springs and this beautiful golf resort! It was a 40 minute drive from northwest Reno but very scenic views on the way. The dinner experience from hostess Sierra, to server Caro, was very attentive and classy. Caro made sure our guest with dietary restrictions was attended to. I had the orange roughy, my friend enjoyed the gnocchi with chicken sausage and my other friend ordered the black bean burger. We also enjoyed the hummus platter. Everything was delish! Notice the size of the tiramisu and whipped cream. Heavenly. As was my birthday brownie; very moist. There's a lovely outdoor patio facing west with gorgeous views to enjoy. Last eve it was too hot for us to have dinner outside, but next time..... I also noticed the nice set up at the bar. We had a wonderful meal here a couple of weeks ago. It was our first time in - and our server and the hostess were extremely friendly and attentive. We started with the arinchini and Brussel sprouts - both were delicious and came out piping hot from the kitchen. I had the chicken picatta florentine - chicken picatta is one of my favorite dishes - and this was a fun spin on it that included charred tomatoes and basil along with the traditional linguine, capers and lemon sauce. All around today our experience wasn't the best. We booked the 90s and Nine for my husband's birthday. When we went to check in we were told it had been canceled, but not given an explanation as to why and they didn't know why people weren't notified. They did however, say they would reimburse us our money and let us play 9 holes free of charge. That was a great make up for the inconvenience. So, we decided to play and agreed to have dinner at Dave's Grill after since our event had been canceled. We made a reservation and we're sat outside. The service was not great. Server greeted me and my girl-friend right away while we waited for our husband's to return the carts and we said we'd wait sisince we just sat down. He didn't return for probably 15 minutes when our husband's joined us just a few minutes after sitting down. Moving on through dinner, we placed our orders which I was torn between two items. The Santa Fe Burger and the Chicken Sausage with Gnocchi. Chance recommended the burger, so that's what I ordered. We received our food and my burger was so burnt, all I was able to taste was the char. I took 2 bites, but couldn't get past how burnt it was. I had my burger flipped over out of the bun sitting on my plate and the plate pushed to the side. Bus boy nor the server ever acknowledged this and several employees stood around in a circle outside socializing while the patio was full of tables. Our server came and asked about boxes when the other people in our party were done eating and I had to tell them I was not eating the burger and showed the reason why, but wasn't going to order anything else at that point since the other 3 people were completely done eating and it was probably 15 minutes to closing. He removed the plate and offerres dessert. We told him it was my husband's birthday and we ordered a cheesecake. Cheesecake and check were dropped at the same time. My husband decided he was too full so he asked for a box for the dessert then he and my friends husband went to go move the cars closer to the grill. My girl-friend and I looked at the bill and I was shocked that we were charged for both the burger and the dessert. Our bill was $258. Anyways, my girl-friend and I put our cards out and it was about 10 minutes before Chance came back to get the payment. Hr was inside leaning up against the var talking. When he came to get the cards, it took about another 10 to get the cards back and without the box we asked for nor did we get pens to sign the check. I am a food and beverage manage at a local bar and grill. I cannot believe that nothing on our check was taken care of for not touching a meal or a birthday. I still tipped 20% because that is the nature in me of being in this industry for 13 years. For a $258 dinner the service did nit reflect that at all. I recommend a serving refresher for those who interacted with our table. After what we experienced tonight, I'm not sure we'd be back. read more

I had no idea what a big beautiful place this restaurant was a part of. In trying to plan a special family member event, and thinking of places nearby this came to mind. I knew it sat on a golf course but did not know the extent of it's beauty. It was everything in terms of background that I would have hoped for. There was a party of 7 of us, and customer service was quick and attentive. There was quite a few appetizers ordered, steak nachos, fries, and the portions were enormous. I ordered the chicken tacos with the choice of sides- either chips and salsa or beans and rice. I prefer my chicken shredded but all in all everything tasted good. For cocktail I ordered a valentine Themed martini which was really good. The best part was the brownie dessert it was a long tray enough to feed 5-6 so it served its purpose. So glad I went with my instinct to try David's Grill. It was a great experience and hope to come back for more. read more

We went to David's for Thanksgiving this year. Because of the weather, family visit was cancelled, so we found ourselves alone and didn't want to make a whole dinner just for us. So, off to David's we went. The buffet was nice. Not Toucan's size, but just what we needed. The food was pretty good. Turkey and Prime Rib, Salmon, Cold Seafood Display and all the fixings. By the time we got there, all the pumpkin pie was gone - sadly - but the desserts were just fine, bread pudding, pecan pie and cheesecake. We brought our own wine and were charged the corkage fee - which is fine. We were also charged a 20% service fee for the dinner. Still a good deal for such a good meal. read more

She was so attentive and did an awesome job, and they comped our dessert as it was our 36th wedding anniversary.
