I can not begin to tell you how great the guys were at Davis towing. My great nephew car died on the road and they rescue him in no time. We had the car towed back to elkhart, in and the guys help make sure it was safe. I called to ensure our car was towed and told it was and they confirmed my car and where it was towed. They just asked about 5 times to leave a ten star review through my insurance company. The next day a cop showed up at my door. Our car apparently had not been towed. I called again to be told that they couldn't tow it because they couldn't find the keys. Never apologized for "the mix up." The whole phone call was gaslighting at its finest with no apology for not completing the job. My husband and I are still laughing about the phone call and how the lack of doing their job was our fault. Not one apology, just blaming us for not doing the job they told us they did. read more

I had the unfortunate experience with Davis being the tow company called by my insurance twice in 1 week. Next time I will pay out of pocket so I can call a company with good customer service. First time my daughter's car broke down on the highway while driving to work. When she called the man who answered was rude and did not want to tell her when the driver would be there. Then, yesterday I needed my other car towed to the shop as something broke and Davis sent a text that they would be 90 minutes. 2 hours later I called my insurance company and they told me a driver was on the way. Another hour later I called Davis x2 with no answer and then my insurance got me on a call with them. The man was super rude. First he did not tell me that he was putting me on hold while he called the driver. Then he proceeded to tell me they were super busy due to the rain and told me I was lucky they were helping me as the insurance doesn't pay enough and my car is older so it needs special equipment that not everyone has. He was so rude and condescending. So 4 hours later the driver came who was nice and professional. Told me his hydraulic line broke when loading the last customer and burned him. If they would have notified me I would not have been mad. It was the rude office worker and lack of letting me know. After waiting 3 hours the jerk said we can cancel the service if you want. After waiting twice the time, no that is not an option. Do the job you agreed to do sir or next time refuse it so the customer can go elsewhere. Dang! read more

I'm giving one star, thanks to the wrecker service. Used them several times, and they were always quick to respond and didn't mess around much. The repair shop - forget it. I have never encountered a worse attitude than there. They had my son's truck - which he bought from them - for close to 4 weeks for a new transmission. It is still not done! And when asking about it, the owner almost bit my head off, blamed my son for breaking the transmission (which they put in just a few months ago), saying he doesn't take any attitude and ended with a really nasty "Don't call us, we call you." And all for wondering why it takes 4-5 weeks to put a transmission in. read more

I am giving 2 stars. Mainly for the tow service because they were very kind and courteous. On January 2 we broke down pulling our camper home from Texas. We had 2 drivers one to pull the truck and one for the camper. Justin towed our truck, he was very nice, I was comfortable with him in his truck. Erik pulled our camper with his personal truck. We had our 2 large dogs with us neither of them had s problem with that . We were not given any receipts for the towing and we paid for the camper to be towed out of pocket. When I called later to get copies of both tow tickets . I found it upsetting that the front office could only find a ticket for towing in the truck ( the one payed by insurance). Why wasn't one turned in for the one we paid!? Our Very biggest complaint with Davis Auto Mart and the service on our truck is that not one person employed there cared about us as the customer. They apparently didn't think it was important to keep us informed about what was going on with the service on our vehicle. We lived 3.5 hours from Davis Auto Mart. We felt like they just decided oh well what are they going to do !? It's not like they can just pop in and check on it ! The part was on National back order so we understand that was out of there hands (10 days it took) . But when it did arrive we should have been a priority. But no ! Not a priority, they didn't even bother to tell us they didn't have the machine needed to actually finish the job . It was towed to a Dodge Dealership for them to do it. Of course we also had to pay there dealership cost! Davis reply to that was "we didn't charge you to tow it there" !! Oh well thanks for that ! Our truck was there 20 days and we received 2 phone calls. One was after I finally called and spoke to a person at the front office and requested someone in charge of Davis Auto Mart to call me . He did and was very nice & apologetic but it didn't move anything along . The 2nd call was after we picked the truck up . Justin called to make sure we made it home alright. Our truck is running absolutely great so the service department and the Dodge dealership did a good job getting it fix . The service writer or who ever is in charge of communication sucks . Customer service sucks ! If you need anything other then a tow I recommend going somewhere else for everything! It is really to bad the 2 businesses are together because I won't call Davis for wrecker service again if in that area and they were fine . read more

I have had a couple good transactions with Davis Auto Mart previously, so it is upsetting to say I will never use their services again. My vehicle broke down and needed a tow to a friend's mechanic shop. My insurance company arranged for Davis Auto Mart to tow my vehicle. When my wife talked to them about where the vehicle needed to be towed, the representative interrupted​ her, telling her that they refused to drop a vehicle off at that mechanic shop after hours. My wife wanted to cry after her conversation, saying she was treated rudely. We found another company to tow our vehicle, then I decided to call Davis Auto Mart to discuss what had transpired. I spoke with the same rep my wife spoke with. He told me he was not rude with my wife, and explained aggressively that they were not towing our vehicle. I expressed that this was fine, but I wanted to discuss how we were treated. I was hung up on. I called back and asked the rep if I could speak with someone higher up than him since customers should not be hung up on. After laughing about not hanging up on customers, he yelled "Okay! I don't want to talk to you either!" and transferred me. The next representative started speaking more professionally at first. He explained again why they were not towing. I explained again that it wasn't an issue, and that I was calling about how we were treated. The representative stated that he was sorry that my "feelings were hurt" and that he would speak with the other representative. After arguing over the sincerity of the apology and whether or not hanging up on a customer is acceptable, the representative screamed "F@#K OFF!" and hung up. I will admit that I was speaking heatedly with a raised voice, but I never screamed at these representatives. I felt ignored, and mistreated. I later was informed that one of these representatives was the owner of the business. If you have no one else to call for a tow in an emergency, then Davis Auto Mart will be acceptable in a pinch. Their drivers performed their duties adequately. I would strongly recommend finding service elsewhere if at all possible however since their customer service is nothing to be desired, and their management seems to not care for their customers. read more

Insurance fraud scammers. I had full coverage via roadside assistance and they still tried charging me (after waiting over 2 hours for them to get here). The minute I put the tow truck driver on the phone with my roadside, he agreed that everything was covered. Their game is to charge your insurance/roadside and double charge you. If I wouldn't have called and just paid him, there is no doubt in my mind they would've pocketed my funds and charged my insurance anyways. This company has no ethics, avoid it like the plague. read more

More than a towing company, this is a rescue team. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere New Year's Eve deep in a snow bank and on the verge of tipping into a ditch and while roadside assistance was a disaster and made me believe any tow company was going to charge me up the ass because of my predicament this guy came in and saved my whole day he worked extremely hard on this highway road to pull my car out in negative degree temperature and told me everything was covered under my chevy warranty I really thought this was some kind of angel in disguise and was near tears when he pulled me out because I had no cash or cards and an almost dead phone and I was back on the road home and safe in no time. Cannot thank that guy enough. Will always recommend this place to people if they have the option read more

This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with, and by far one of the worst experiences of my life. I called to get my car in because the brakes were bad, and Mike told us to bring it in the next day at 8am. I asked about payment arrangements, and he said we can talk about it. When I dropped it off, I asked Justin about payment arrangements and he said "I know we do them, but you will need to talk to Mike". When I went back to the shop to get my car, I asked for Mike and was told by a gentleman in the office to have a seat. I waited. And waited. I waited for 30 minutes before a lady came out of the office, identifying herself as the office manager and yelling at me and asking who authorized the charges on my car and who told me that I could have a payment plan because they haven't done payment plans in 2-3 years. I found that odd since two difference people under her supervision within the past 24 hours both told me that it would be possible to establish the payment plan on my repairs. The office manager continued to shout questions at me, in the waiting room in front of other employees. I was embarrassed and felt like I had done something wrong. Then, she told me she would not work with me on a payment arrangement and stormed out of the office. She returned with me keys and informed me I had a balance of $95. This was never brought to my attention. She informed me that my car was not safe to drive and she probably shouldn't even give it back to me. I paid the $95 and got out of there as fast as I could. To make matters worse, as she handed me my paperwork she had a smirk on her face and said "Sorry I couldn't help you". I don't think this lady was sorry, she had the chance to work with me and chose not to. I will never take my car to Davis Auto again. I had nothing but pleasant experiences 5-6 years ago when I had to use them quite a bit, but I have certainly learned my lesson. I truly hope this office manager is never in a position like I was, because no one deserves to be treated the way she treated me. read more

Absolutely the worst roadside assistance ever. I had a tire blow out while driving my motorhome. I was on 69. I was able to get off the expressway and pull into a parking lot of a service station. My first inclination was to go inside and ask for recommendation of a local company that was able to work on a motorhome. That is the company that I called. I thought further and realized I should have called my insurance company first so I then called and told them what my situation was. My insurance company called Davis and worked with them on approval. The first service provider from Davis Auto and towing was extremely knowledgeable and polite. The problem was that the bolt on the wheel cover was over tightened and in order to get it off he might damage it. It was a very minor decorative piece that had no operational impact and was also probably quite cheap.I told him to go ahead as long as it was that minor. His instructions were that he had to have a supervisor examine and approve that type of situation. The second man to arrive (after almost an hour) did not appear to have the knowledge to make the decision and had to call his supervisor. I later found out the the first "supervisor" was in training. He apparently did not like what ever he was told to do by his supervisor. He actually slammed his truck into a sign being a real hot head. I saw damage to his truck. I am not sure about the sign (which belonged to a business). The second "supervisor" to appear, spent most of his time on the phone talking to the insurance company never getting out of his car to even look at the tire. My insurance company then called me and told me that I did not have any out of pocket expense ( after the tow company told me I would have to pay them the difference). They also made me sign a hand written statement that released them from damage. After over 2 hours of standing around trying to get the approval that they "might" damage a decorative bolt, it took the original gentleman (who kept apologizing for the way the "supervisors were acting) about 30 minutes to get the tire off and changed with NO damage to the decorative bolt! The management of Davis Towing is unprofessional. I doubt it will be viable if this is a typical experience. The position that they put a woman alone on the road in a motorhome with a blown tire is inexcusable. This was a very frightening experience and one that I will not fail to share with everyone that I know. read more
