Great donuts! I was pleasantly surprised with how much my family and I loved these donuts. They are fresh, tasty, authentic, yummy, and not overly sweet which I greatly appreciate. They also have such a huge selection of great quality pastries. My mom absolutely loved the cake donuts with the blueberries and I loved all the glazed donuts + pastries. The location is very simple, small, and plain with lots of parking available. I was very happy with the kind and helpful service that I received. The lady was so polite, helpful, and fast + efficient. I would highly recommend this place to get classic donuts + pastries. I'm so glad we decided to try this place! I assume the owner as it seemed like a small mom and pop place. While I was still thinking of what to get, they helped some other customers who seemed like regulars. I got an apple fritter, and he threw in an extra donut - chocolate raised in my bag. Very nice of him. The apple fritter was crispy/crunchy on the outside, while the inside was soft and moist. I was hosting an early work event for about 65 people and long story short -- the ball was dropped on ordering breakfast. I thought to myself, 'where could I pick up something within the next 30 minutes and be on my way to fight the merry experience of Friday morning traffic to make it on time to the event I was hosting?' I knew Dawn Donuts would save the day, and they did! I gave them a ring and told them I needed 3 boxes of assorted bagels and one box of assorted donuts. I knew some people at my event are on diets so I figured those people could split a bagel with someone -- that's why I ordered 4 dozen boxes and not 5. Anyway, when I arrived -- per usual, there was a line out the door. It's a given because this shop offers donuts of every kind, croissant sandwiches, bagels with cream cheese, coffee, smoothies, lattes, etc. It really is the ideal neighborhood shop to pick up all things sweet and savory for a quick breakfast. Considering how long the line was and with two ladies in the front running the house (and they were hustling with a great sense of urgency!) -- a young man ended up assisting me with my big phone order. He had everything boxed with 3 cream cheese spreads on the side and ready to go within 30 minutes of my putting the phone order in. He even put everything on a cart and walked me to my car so I didn't have to juggle the boxes on my own. Awesome service I must say. I've ordered donuts through DoorDash from here twice already & both times the donuts are BOMB! Good for simple donuts. Super fluffy, airy, perfect amount of icing/sweetness. The strawberry coconut donut, BOMB, the chocolate glaze, BOMB, the donut holes, BOMB. I have yet to go inside as it's literally down the street from where I live. I've been a long-time customer of Dawn's Donuts, but a recent incident this morning left me deeply disappointed. During my visit, I witnessed the owner an Asian woman yelling at an older Hispanic man and telling him to "speak English", which he was trying to. Watching someone speak to an elder in our community that way felt extremely disrespectful, especially here on the East Side of San José, where the majority of us are Hispanic and where diversity and mutual respect are part of daily life. I approached her afterward and told her directly that everyone deserves respect, regardless of the language they speak. No one should be spoken to like that, especially in a neighborhood built on multicultural roots and immigrant families. This experience made me rethink whether I can continue supporting this business. I hope the owner reflects on how she treats customers and understands the importance of kindness and cultural respect in our community. read more

My husband & I needed a quick brunch before a long drive! We came across this business on yelp nearby, so we decided to try it out. We ordered 2 croissant sandwiches and 2 iced coffees. The croissant sandwiches were delicious & portions were quite huge!! Iced coffees were good aswell but tasted ordinary. Total spent was around $17 - which is amazing for the quality & portions that they give. My husband was also the one who picked up our order and he mentions the employees were very sweet!
