Hello, I had a disappointing experience during my first…read morevisit as an independent adult, and haven't been in years . At check-in, I gave my insurance details (I'm double-covered). The blonde woman at the front desk asked me to sign for an Optima eye exam without clearly explaining that it was optional, and I felt pressured because they highlighted their latest equipment, and I assumed it was standard. Five days later, I learned from a family member that my deductible/copay had already been met, so I shouldn't have owed anything. When I called to inquire, another staff member told me that "a copay and deductible are separate," which came across as dismissive and made me feel foolish for asking. In reality, once the deductible is met, additional copays for covered services shouldn't apply in this way. The lack of clear communication about the optional nature of the exam and the billing left a bad taste. If patients are going to be made to feel uninformed or stupid when they question charges, I won't be returning. P.S. As a 19-year-old, I also found it strange to be recommended (and charged for) this extra exam when I've had no prior eye issues. It left me wondering why it was pushed so strongly at my age.

I would have continued to get my eye care here but found out today that they are forcing patients to complete a, what use to be "optional eye exam". The reason why it's optional is because it's not covered by most insurances. The cost is $40. They will try to tell you the gloom and doom as to why you need this test. However, I trusted in their ability to detect any abnormalities in my eyes by using the "usual" manner in which they perform their exams. At the beginning of the year it was optional... with aggressive salesmanship... now they won't see you without you paying up for this extra exam. I understand that it's "an extra preventative measure", however that should be the patient's choice to make if they want to pay extra. Looks like I will be taking my business elsewhere.

After finding the glasses we both liked CeCe also very nice and helpful came over to assist us and everything went smoothly. We were able to both get the glasses we liked and Agnes help my husband with his old pair we purchased from them years ago. When it came time to check out, the total was just shy of $1200, but insurance brought it down to $600. The part that really irritates me is the fact that they screwed up my prescription. You'd think spending that much money on glasses, the least they could do was get your prescription correct. Both of my eyes had issues---one more major than the other. The eye with minor damage was given a lens that over-corrected it, giving me frequent headaches and eye strain. I purchased RayBan glasses, which come with their logo engraved on the lenses. When I received the glasses, the RayBan logo was not there, meaning that I was given something cheaper than what I purchased. Avoid this optometry. The ones in Target are 100x better.

The most uncomfortable part of my experience is how both the doctors and staff address gaps in care. If you haven't been seen in a few years, they bring it up sharply--almost like you're being scolded for not coming in sooner. It's awkward and unnecessary, and it comes across as if they assume they're the only optometry office in town. Our family has gone elsewhere and had far better experiences without the judgment. The sales staff is another issue. They are very rigid and come off as rude--no warmth, no smiles, just transactional and cold. As for service follow-through, it's been frustrating. When my recent glasses were ordered, I was never called to pick them up. They acknowledged that mistake, and I was understanding about it. However, this was also the first time I've ever had an issue with a prescription. I returned to explain the problem, and they sent the glasses out to be corrected. Again, I waited for a call--nothing. After about a month and a half, I finally called and was told the glasses had been ready for weeks. I'm still using my old prescription and technically need to go back again to get this resolved, but at this point, I'd rather start over somewhere else. Between the scolding tone, lack of communication, and overall unwelcoming environment, it's just not worth it. You can absolutely find a more professional, comfortable, and customer-focused experience elsewhere. I'd recommend avoiding this place.

The optometrist is very nice and gives you a very descriptive explanation of your eye exam. The price for a pair of glasses can get pricey depending on what you get.
