There's always a long line here at lunch and it's no surprise. The pizzas are delicious, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the price point is great. Be sure to try not just the red pies but also the white pies. I wish there was more indoor seating but there's ample outdoor seating when the weather is nice. read more

I went today just a few minutes after they had first opened. Nobody said hello, even though the place was empty when I walked in. I filled out the sheet with what I wanted on my create-your-own pizza and when I walked to give the employee my "ticket," she just stared at me and put her hand out. No words were exchanged. So I just waited for my pizza - which took an extra several minutes because there was a large catering order being put together. Nobody said sorry, nobody even acknowledged I was waiting. So eventually I got my pizza and left. For the pizza itself - it was okay. Better than your average pizza joint, probably, but the crust was a little too thin. I'd say go to &pizza if it's close enough to you. read more

The pizza here is delicious, and aside from the occasional snafu it comes out as ordered quickly. It is not New York pizza so if you are a pizza snob hop a train and go to NY. It is better than the chain places, but dominos did change their recipe which helped them out a lot...so it is still better than most delivery places. I am not a big fan if &pizza, but that place was ok. The folks who run the place are super friendly and there are a core set of 4/5 peeps that have been working there since opening so they have the process kinks pretty much ironed out. 5 Stars...some weeks I eat there 3 or more times if I am feeling like I need the comfy food. read more

Besides the fact that this place is pretty identical to another DC pizza chain that cleverly uses &'s, this place is great. I've been a handful of times for lunch; it's in a great location for the Farragut area workers (a bit of a walk for the foggy bottom workers like me, but a fun Friday treat). The lunch lines are generally long, but move fairly quickly. They guarantee your pizza will be ready in 3 minutes, and they've delivered on that every time. The pizzas are just the way I like them: crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. They also offer Coke products (brownie points from me) and freshly baked desserts. read more

I had a pepperoni pizza with sun dried tomorrows, basil, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, and garlic. I didn't expect much when I saw the pizza would come out as a rectangle. I was thoroughly impressed when I took my first bite. They have different styles of sauces so I tried the sweet sauce and it was delicious. Try different combinations whenever you come to pizza restaurants like this and it'll reward you in the long run. read more

Always spectacular pizza and service! If you like &pizza I think you will LOVE this place. I actually prefer DC Pizza over them if given the choice. The only bad thing about DC Pizza that I have to say is that it's a huge pity that they only have this one location. Hopefully they branch out! I also recently ordered a few of their bigger pizzas as I was hosting a sleepover and the pizza was the same amazing quality even in a bigger size. I love that while the crust is thin, it's not hard like a cracker the way some thin crust pizzas can be. I hope this review entices you to try this amazing pizza spot. The literal only con, as I said earlier, is the lack of more locations. And one of my favorite things about this place is that if you're an introvert like or better yet speaking to strangers give you anxiety, you can just fill out your order on the paper notepads they provide. You circle what you want on your pizza and hand it over! That way they can see what you want as opposed to mishearing you and messing up your order(which has happened to me at &pizza). read more

Amazing! Ordered pizza from here for our office holiday party. Pizza was delicious! Great prices. Everything I ordered was exactly what we wanted. Pizza got here on time and still hot. So I used to go to that @pizza place until I saw they beat a customer with a bat. And I was like no way am I going to that place. So I looked up reviews and talked to my friend on capital hill (Barbara) and she was like "you check out DCP and I'll meet you there". So I googled dc pizza and was like "those pizzas look goood" and met my friend there. But first I checked out the price because if I'm buying I want a good deal, and it's a good deal. So we met up and ate pizza. The whole time I was saying this pizza is so good and the whole time she was eating she was saying "omg there so much pizza I could almost just eat half" I was telling her just enjoy it, it's soooo good. Stop saying the pizzas are so big because we don't want them shrinking the pizza. But I don't think they will because there's a lot of boxes and they have to fill the boxes. And no one listens to my friend Barbara anyway. But I say this place is awesome!! I'd give it 6 stars if I could. But it will only allow me to give 5 stars so that's what I'll do. My 13 year old daughter came with us and she gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up when I asked her how the pizza was which was the most communication she's given me within a month so I think it's "teenager approved" also. I recomend dc pizza. read more

They were doing a free delivery promo with Postmates so I decided to give it a shot and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the pizza, especially for delivery! Their pizza comes with a thin crust and is oval in shape (think more a delicious &pizza) I did the build your own option but they also have a few nice sounding combos like pesto chicken or a spicy Italian one. read more

I went here for lunch last weekend and this place was fantastic. You walk in and create a pizza on how you want. You can manually create it or pick a favorite. I went with the Meat Likers and it was fantastic. The service is excellent and friendly, the are quick and efficient, and the pizza is great. I recommend this place if you are nearby and craving pizza. I will definitely be sure to come back the next time I visit DC again. read more

And here is the problem with Yelp... This place is okay, I guess. I have eaten here 2 times and ordered different pizzas each visit. I have been unimpressed by their offerings both times. It's not that the food is bad, it's fine for the average pallet I suppose, but the pizza is made is a toaster oven. It is the same type of conveyor belt oven a bagel place would use to brown your ET before a shmear (tho toasting bagels is for suckers). To me this creates a "pizza" that lacks any kind of authenticity or integrity. The fresh basil is a nice touch but the ingredients taste of rather low quality and they use cornmeal to keep the dough from sticking to the pan which is unappealing to me. Ok, I know. "It is what it is" but here's the problem. This place has an average rating of 4 stars on Yelp. This is the exact same rating as 2Amys and Pizzeria Paradiso. Comparing the products from said establishments to each other in person would yield extremely different outcomes. The fact that these can look equal to anyone searching Yelp for a pizza place is a disservice to the community. Lastly, I take issue with the name DC Pizza. As if this is representative of the DC pizza scene. It's not. Skip this place and go get some of the delicious offerings from the number of excellent pizza joints in the city and surrounding burbs. read more

Like many others I was lucky enough to try DC Pizza for free last week (very generous!!). The staff at DC pizza were very friendly and handled the humongo crowd like champs! The pizza was ready in 3 mins and was exactly what I wanted :) For toppings, since the pizza is at risk of getting soggy if you over-load, I would suggest sticking with 4 max and avoiding add-ons like wing sauce. While I normally prefer a crispy base, I would gladly sacrifice it to get in and out of there in 5 mins (especially during lunch hour). Unfortunately the spicy italian sauce isn't that spicy - but you can make up for it by adding jalapenos, hot sauce, and pepper flakes (at the end)! I'll be back to get my fresh pizza fix on-the-go! read more

Was skeptical about trying this place since Custom Fuel over on Pennsylvania, which runs in an almost identical fashion, was a bit of disappointment. Fortunately, this was a win for a lunch spot. Don't go here expecting pizzeria/fancy pizza. It's meant to be a quick and easy place! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the spicy sauce. It's not super hot, just the right bit of spicy to give a nice flavor punch. Service was great, staff was friendly. Ingredients were fresh, and you get to see the staff making it from start to finish as you walk down the line to the register. They aren't kidding around with the basil. It's not sprinkles of basil, it's LEAVES of basil. AWESOME. Overall taste of the pizza was excellent. Only thing I would recommend to the restaurant is to keep an eye on the extra stuff you put on the pizza yourself (Parmesan, hot pepper flakes, dressings, etc.). I grabbed the ranch dressing out of the bin it was in and ended up dripping water everywhere, almost ruining my pizza. I'm guessing it was in a bin of ice to keep it cold? read more

Great spot on those days when you've got about 10-15 minutes to grab some lunch and get back to the office or need to grab a quick bite before heading to an activity after work. The staff are friendly, the ingredients fresh, and the place is super clean. Oh, and if for some reason you aren't satisfied, they'll make you a new one on the spot, as my girlfriend learned when they mistakenly added spicy peppers to her order. In fact, in the time that Mr. Cheese "Bill H." took to take a picture of his dissatisfying pizza, and go across the street to wait 15-20 minutes in the ridiculously long line at the magnificent Greek deli (which he likes so much that he didn't review them), he could've asked the DC Pizza staff to make him a new pie. I know, right?! Shocking suggestion. Maybe he was just grumpy from his daily trip in from that hot-bed of pizza joints - Fairfax. read more

I was lucky enough to get a free pizza here on it's opening day. The service was super fast and friendly, and the pizza was solid. I ordered a pesto pie with a mixture of veggie toppings. I think it was better than &pizza although of course they are pretty much identical. Nice portion, good quality and fresh, diverse ingredients. It definitely fills the pizza void in the Faragut/Foggy Bottom area. read more

DC Pizza is AMAZING! Today they were giving away free pizza for their grand opening and I waited about 40 minutes in the cold and freezing rain for pizza. They had employees walking up and down the line handing out highlighters and ordering sheets. They were full of high energy and so nice which was amazing to see since the weather was crappy. Once I got to the door, there was a greeter who opened the door for everyone, walking in and out! I was beyond happy with the service they were providing. After we got inside, it looked like a very well oiled pizza factory. The best part is, EVERYONE was so happy and friendly. They all worked together as a team to make the best pizza I have had in DC. I was so happy and felt like I was in a warm place with all the smiling faces. Bottom line: Delicious Pizza, Perfect Customer Service and a Great Experience! Enjoy! read more

Visited DC Pizza to grab some lunch today and didn't really know what to expect. I had never been, and I was pleasantly surprised when there were clear instructions of how to order. You simply fill out an order form and hand it to the person making the pizza behind the counter. This makes the process way more efficient and the pizza is literally ready in minutes. There wasn't a hoard of people waiting for their food which I really appreciated. The service was great! Everyone who works there are super friendly and keep the line moving. You can tell they enjoy their jobs which always creates a a great environment. There is a ton of outdoor seating. If anything, I wish they had more space to eat inside for when it's raining/cold (but I know that's pretty hard for a lot of small DC restaurants). Definitely will be visiting here again. Great tasting pizza and large portions (I could only finish half of my pizza in one sitting). It's a nice casual spot with fast service. read more

I dig this place. I work on the same block as DC Pizza and we were sorely in need of a pizza place. I am originally from the NYC area, so I like to think I know a thing or two about pizza... I like the options at DC Pizza -- you can pick your sauce, your cheese, your toppings and your add-ons (like fresh basil or olive oil, added after your pizza is cooked). If you don't like the blotchy coverage of fresh mozzarella (like Bill H. below), no problem, they have a shredded mozzarella akin to what you'd find in most neighborhood pizza joints. Want half sausage and anchovies on the side? No problem. You get your choice of 4 toppings plus cheese for under $9. Pretty good deal, in my book. They'll even let you sample the sauces if you ask. Pizzas are cooked in a magic pizza oven -- they're done in 3 minutes! The crust is the right combo of crispy and chewy -- not that doughy stuff you get at chain delivery places. The line moves pretty quickly through the lunchtime rush -- even when the line is out the door, it takes no more than 15 minutes to get through. This is a great addition to the neighborhood, but not so great for my waistline. :-) read more

As you walk up to order, you'll see the huge variety of tasty, local ingredients that we will use to create your pizza. There's three steps to an amazing pizza. First, customize your pie by choosing from six options: Pick your crust (gluten free available), one of six savory sauces including classic tomato, Basil pesto, Creamy Alfredo, fresh cheeses, all the traditional proteins like pepperoni and sausage, tons of veggies, and then add a final finishing touch like fresh basil or our marvelous parmesan garlic & rosemary olive oil. Once you've designed your masterpiece, you're 2 minutes away from pizza paradise as we bake it in our ovens. Meet the Business Owner: Lisa L.

DC Pizza is the dream made reality for owners Bob Daly and Lisa Lakin. Bob and Lisa have been friends and business partners for over 30 years. Together, they've run successful restaurants, and hope to add DC Pizza to that list with your help! After selling the California Tortilla in Chinatown and then taking back the ownership of the California Tortilla in Rockville, MD they wanted to expand into something of their own. They decided that their shared love of pizza would be the perfect fit for them. After settling on a location, 1103 19th street NW DC, Bob and Lisa set to work on creating the menu. Never the "less is more" type of people, they put together a menu full of only the best variety, wanting their customers to have the freedom to mix and match. We know everyone has a favorite pizza. We ordered appetizers to include Taiwanese popcorn chicken, spicy wontons, and cucumber salad. We also ordered our meals, too. A beef lamen, pork soup dumplings, crab and pork soup dumplings, and I originally wanted the fried chicken curry lamen but he talked me against it due to spice level and I opted for the sake chicken, per his recommendation. The soup dumplings came out abt 15 min later at which I was told that the cucumber salad was sold out and asked if I wanted anything else. I passed since I had ordered the popcorn chicken already. My friend wasnt a fan of her pork soup dumplings and didnt finish them at all. She stated a severe lack of flavor. The crab/pork ones were a hit for the other friend. I cant eat pork nor beef, so I was still sitting and waiting for my popcorn chicken appetizer to hold me off a bit. About another 20 minutes passed then the beef lamen came out for one friend and then an order of the curry lamen. We were confused on if this was our actual order until he realized that he wrote down the wrong dish for me after I explained that he told me to get the sake chicken instead. He apoligized but by this point, I hadnt had food in roughly 6 hours, I was starving and asked to keep the wrong order, please. He refused and said he would get me the correct item because it's just in the back. Keep in mind that the spicy won tons were still missing and so was my popcorn chicken. About 10 minutes later, the spicy won tons finally made it and she enjoyed them more than her pork soup dumplings. Then the other server comes to tell me that there is more cucumber salad. Im not sure how we go from sold out to availability nearly an hour later but I still refused since I was ready for my main entree at this point. The other friend ended up ordering it instead. She said it was good. I didn't try out of frustration of how this experience was unfolding for me. My entree finally came out after another 15 or so minutes, which meant it acrually was NOT sitting in the back and ready. Im exhausted. Im starving. Ive sat here and watched my table eat while my orders were fumbled for some odd reason. The sake chicken was okay. Its really like katsu chicken with a ton of yum yum and eel sauce over a bed of rice. Best way to explain it. I probably would have enjoyed the original curry dish more. About another 10 minutes later, my popcorn chicken arrives, which beyond upset me because I asumed this order wasnt put in at this point. It had been over an hour! I gave it to my friend instead after trying one and not enjoying the flour-heavy taste. I'm not sure if this was an off night or what but I cant say that I will return just from the sheer time it took to get our orders! An hour and half was beyond ridiculous when the place wasnt even full. No one explained the delays nor came to give us updates while we were waiting, either. I gave them a star for the food being half enjoyed by some of my party and another for pricing because it really wasnt expensive, which was a plus. There were only a few other tables dining, so we had plenty of time to enjoy the dishes ordered. The Food Breakdown: Grandma's Style Pancake (4/5) - I was admittedly skeptical at first about the item, as the beef was presented wrap-style within the scallion pancake. However, it was actually a refreshing bite with a slight kick from the red pepper. It made for a filling starter. Pork Xiao Long Bao (5/5) - Very delicious and flavorful. There was a good amount of soup in each dumpling as well, properly wrapped so it was easy to pick up and add in the complimenting sauces. Steamed Vegetable Dumplings (4.5/5) - Unpictured, but I was pleasantly surprised by the seasoning in the veggies. They come with six per order, and I enjoyed alternatively between them with the soup dumplings. This was a great lunch stop in the heart of Georgetown, with a second, equally convenient location in Chinatown. The menu offers plenty of selections, and I'd be likely to revisit for its noodles and broth next.
