Okay, I want to make it clear that I am not her to frivolously review a neighborhood restaurant…read more Small businesses are the backbone of our country, specially important and black, woman and minority owned. So here's my good and not so good. Good: the service here is amazing, friendly attentive and I watched every dine in customer receive extraordinary care. The portion sizes are huge and the whole restaurant felt like you were in someone's own kitchen on a weekend morning with all of the right smells in the air for a great brunch. Here's the not so good: it took 4 minutes shy of an hour to get lunch for 2 (2 order of chicken tenders, side of red beans and rice and an order of hush puppies ) prepared. Although the booths were full, most of the tables had their food, so it didn't appear to be a lot of tickets stacked up. When my order was finally delivered, and I took the10 minute drive back home, I opened the bag to fund 3 brown paper bags, wet, soggy and soaking in grease. Because the food hadn't been allowed to cool a bit and it was placed in a plastic bag with no way to vent out steam, every item was soggy and falling apart. The fries were wet and soggy, the chicken had all of the dry coat falling off and most the seasoning was pulled off of the batter that was left because of the water and steam. Additionally, the red beans and rice were so wet, they were almost soup. One of the orders had potato salad as a side, but to received overcooked soggy fries instead. The hush puppies were way over cooked, they had passed the golden brown cook level and were a black brown color and were sort of flavorless and really soggy from the heat of the plastic bag. I'm sure that most of this could have been avoided if I hadn't placed a to go order. But I'm leaving this review so that when you order from this little gem, you consider dining in or asking for the foot with plenty of lead time so that they don't rush, improperly pack the food for transit (let it cool off a bit) and have the time to make sure the order is correct, and cooked to a standard that best represents the business. Pomona needs Day-Days as a locally owned, black owned soul food restaurant. Switching from plastic to paper bags and giving the food time to vent will go a long way with quality for the customer. In the end the food tasked good, I'm sure was prepared with love, but fell flat on the delivery. All of that said, patronize this restaurant!!!!

The gumbo was easily the star of the meal. The sauce itself was incredibly rich, deeply savory, and immediately reminded me of the food I've had in New Orleans. I honestly don't have an elaborate critique of it. It was simply delicious. My only thought was that I wanted even more seafood in every spoonful, so next time I'm adding extra crab or shrimp. I wasn't sure what to expect from the frog legs, but they ended up being one of my favorite dishes. The batter was light and crispy, while the meat was delicate and mild, somewhere between chicken and fish, without much gaminess. I could have easily eaten an entire plate of them. We finished the meal with the croissant beignets and bread pudding. The beignets were crisp, dusted with powdered sugar, and served with a berry purée that balanced the sweetness nicely. As good as they were, the bread pudding blew them away for me. The warm bread pudding with bourbon sauce, ice cream, and strawberries was easily my favorite dessert of the night. Our waiter also overheard that it was my birthday and surprised me with complimentary ice cream, which was a thoughtful touch. Probably the best compliment I can give The Quarter is this. I'm willing to drive an hour to Claremont on a Saturday night, hunt for parking, and deal with the crowds of college kids just to come back for another bowl of that gumbo.

I originally popped in just to pick up a house salad to go to pair with my leftover pastas at Home, but I ended up dining in thanks to the terrific Gourmet Hospitality displayed by Server Carlos and the new Manager Evan! While waiting for my To Go Salad I was so mesmerized by all the fun and flirty Visual Communications like their Dessert Menu and Happy Hour Specials like the $4.50 Beers and $9 Half Cajun Pasta Specials :0) I initially decided to just stay at Georgia's and try their Sweet Potato Pie along with a Hot Tea instead of moseying over to Starbucks like my original afternoon Game Plan. Carlos took the time to make my Sweet Potato Pie look extra elegant and fancy and the Black Lemon Tea he served me had such a unique and refreshing elegant flavor! I felt like a British Barbie having the most heavenly Afternoon Tea Time Recovery massage after enjoying that incredible Artful Genius Pairing ;0) After the Manager Evan stopped by to follow up on the satisfaction of my food he encouraged me to capitalize on the Afternoon Happy Hour Specials on the Weekdays too from 3-6pm. I saw that my favorite Cajun Pasta was on the Happy Hour Menu and decided to order it with Shrimp along with a glass of Kona Big Wave to celebrate the theme of my Moana Movie Day :0) My Cajun Pasta tasted just as amazing as I remembered it to be and I ended up returning last night to order the full size on the weekend to enjoy outside on their beautiful Patio! I also tried their Fried Green Tomatoes Appetizer which was so good and a personal recommendation from my Coworker Bartender who raves endlessly about it. The Lemon Aioli sauce included with the Fried Green Tomatoes is so good and I LOVE their Seasonal Green Apple Sangria which is an absolute must try too!! Thank you to the whole Georgia's Team for going out of your way to make me feel so comfortable, relaxed, and at Home with great Food, Beverages, and fabulously cozy Company! I really admire the Company for consistently adapting to professional challenges by investing in smart and speedy technology and coming up with better Service Systems to help Guests relax and get settled in faster. The new Happy Hour, Cocktail, and Mocktails specials are so romantically charming and gives me lots of reasons to come back and along with the vibrantly fun and interesting personalities that make up the Service Staff!

I came for lunch and was offered complimentary cornbread, which was soft, buttery, warm, and so delicious. The fried shrimp basket and Southwestern salad were fresh, yummy, and well-portioned. The French fries that came with the shrimp basket were perfectly fried and delicious. There was a great balance between crispy and soft. There was also a generous amount of shrimp in the basket, and the breading was so flavorful. The Southwestern chicken salad had a good amount of chicken and perfectly complemented the shrimp basket. The servers here are friendly and help maintain such a bright and relaxing environment. After just one visit, my group and I decided that we would have to make weekly visits to Georgia's and try all of the amazing dishes on the menu! Although there are other locations, I plan on returning to this one because of my fantastic experience in Eastvale. Overall, I highly recommend Georgia's Restaurant and can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

I used to come here all the time when my family lived nearby, so I was genuinely happy to see that they survived COVID and are still going strong. The layout inside is a little different now. There are no longer tables for dining in, just chairs near the entrance where you can wait for your order. They still have bench-style tables outside though. Street parking was easy to find, even easier than I remember, probably because the surrounding area is more deserted than it used to be. Most importantly, the fish was just as good as I remembered. My order took around 35 minutes - I completely forgot that you can call ahead, which is definitely the move here. I ate a few pieces fresh in the car, and they were SO hot and tender inside while still perfectly crunchy on the outside. The tartar sauce and vinegar paired great with everything. Highly recommend ordering extra tartar sauce! The prices honestly shocked me in the best way. It felt like I was looking at pre-2016 pricing. Between the flavor, quality, portion size, and overall value, Pomona Fish Market is still unbeatable. So happy I made my way back and found it every bit as good as I remembered.

The guy was not very customer service forward. He was like a robot. Not very emotional. Just going through the motions. While waiting, I struck up a conversations with other customers waiting. They love the food. There's only the man and I assume his wife cooking the food. My food was finally ready. No inside seating so I went outside where there are two picnic benches with umbrellas. My food was not hot. Like it was sitting there a bit. The food was still delicious. I guess sorta glad it wasn't hot as I had to scarf down my food since my lunch is only 30 minutes. I did put it in the toaster oven when I got home later for dinner. The place was busy. Lots of people coming in. One of the other customers told me to call it in next time so I didn't have to wait so long. Go in for the food, not the service.

Hands down the best soul food within an hour's drive…read more My son and I went in a week after they opened their location on account of my son asked me whether "soul food" was the same as "southern food." I said, "I can tell you, but I think it's best I show you." My son and I walked into what seemed like an old Chinese food buffet not too far from the new Tower Buzzers stadium. It was larger than I imagined, but it needed to be. You could smell the flavors right from the front door. I tried to order based on what I had seen on their website, but it turns out their options have changed a bit, so we went with the party wings and the dozen shrimp plate. Shrimp Plate: For the first time in a loooooong time, I had juicy shrimp. I had long lost hope of finding a juicy shrimp on account of most places will overcook them and give you what amounts to breading shells with empty space where the shrimp used to be. The shrimp at NYMK is juicy and the breading has to be a family secret. Party Wings: My son swears by these. He can't have any other wings, now. He loved the mac and cheese - especially when you add a little of the hot sauce to the mac and cheese. After his meal, I told him, "This is your first taste of Soul Food. It can be considered Southern food, but it has its own spices. It has its own history. It's own heart and soul. It stands on its own." I can't recommend this place enough for those folks looking to enjoy something way different than what the IE provides.
