This is going to become an annual stop for my family when visiting Ocean City. What a cool beach atmosphere, the type of place you want to hang out at when you're on vacation. We ate right along the water during sunset and enjoyed watching the boats come back and forth along the bay. Highly recommend the fish tacos. My wife got the crispy avocado tacos and I had the battered fish - both were outstanding and affordable. Started with some wings as well which were crispy and tasty. Food, views, atmosphere: 10/10. The drinks are not that creative and they are usually missing some ingredients though. They serve crushes in fish bowls which is good. Not inexpensive though. The menu is pretty limited. A group of friends and I came here after a long day on the beach from our day trip in Ocean City. I have to say the view of the sunset at the outdoor seating pier was beautiful and definitely created a great atmosphere for our dinner! The place is cool with good food but the service is horrible, horrible, horrible!!!!!!!!!! We arrived & asked for a table near the kids play center. There was a table close, but we could still see the kids. The table was outside, in between 2 covered canvases. It looked like rain and we asked the guy seating us what happens if it rains. He told us that he was going to go ask the hostess if she meant to seat us at the table, because it looked like rain, and he might move us. He came back and told us that they told him it was not going to rain. Apparently, someone on their staff is a meteorologist. The restaurant was slow and there were plenty of tables with overhangs, umbrellas, etc. We ordered drinks (adult & Childs) and an appetizer. They were very good. I then took my granddaughter to buy a couple of tee shirts. While there, the rain started and it started draining off of the canvas on to our table. My granddaughter's IPad was wet. Our phones were getting wet. Our remaining appetizer was getting wet. My wife asked to move one table over that had an umbrella, and was empty. In fact, there were 10 empty covered tables near us. We told the girl that our food would be soaked, when it arrived, but she was not budging to move us to a different table. This is what we asked for at the beginning, but someone inside who was playing weatherman made that decision to put us at an uncovered table. I returned with a couple of shirts and saw that my wife was wet and distraught. The girl that she was talking to turned her attention to me. I asked her if we could move to an empty table, and she smirked that it was against their policy. We could take our food to go if we didn't want to eat in the rain. This made me furious to be treated like this as a patron, and I then told her to cancel the food. They would lose more money by trashing our food (which had not been delivered yet). She did not care about losing a customer (a local at that), and again smirked, and said "just pay for your drinks and leave then). I was extremely close to walking out and not paying for anything because I was so angry!!!!! She said that it was a different server at the other table and it is not fair to the servers, if we were to move. I told her at this rate the server at our table was getting NO tip anyway!!! We are good tippers always, no matter where we go, so it made me feel bad to give no tip to our server, but I was mad at everything associated with De Lazy Lizard at that point. I paid the check and gave no tip, since we never received our meal anyway. I called her a few choice words on the way out, and she yelled to get out of her restaurant, although I seriously doubt that she has any ownership involvement. It's ok but going down hill from years past. First no prices on the menu, you have to go online for the prices. That's because it got way over priced. Like I got this chicken with crab dip and I think it was around 25 but it was a small piece of chicken with a half scoop of rice, it looked like a kids menu item. It was in the middle of the plate and was the size of a fist, so 75% of the plate was empty and it just look pathetic. I don't know how it's legal to tell people with allergies that you cannot make ANY modifications to ANY meals. When we asked what isn't pre-made, trying to be reasonable, the manager said menu items aren't pre-made, but they still couldn't make ANY modifications. Two staff said it was due to the kitchen being "too busy" but a third insisted they just don't do modifIcations at all. We were so excited to enjoy a special birthday dinner and thought we had found a new restaurant for our frequent trips to OC. Guess not. I guess if you don't have allergies you could still enjoy a dinner here, but I hope we all would prefer to support businesses with better business practices. read more

I recommend getting a table outside by the water, it's so relaxing. We came here for dinner and this place seems popular, I mean that view of the water is gorgeous. I got a mixed drink and the avocado tacos with the baja toppings. The avocado was perfect and crispy, but I wasn't a fan of all the salsa in the taco. All the salsas mixed was a bit of an odd taste, I think it would be better if there was just 1 salsa to put on top of the avocado. There's another style that comes with cheese, but I cannot eat cheese, but it might taste better with the crispy avocado. I forgot the name of the mixed drink, but it was strong and my boyfriend's drink was strong as well. Keep that in mind if you're a light weight and/or driving. Disappointed. Came with party of 5 for lunch at 1230 pm. Food is very overpriced even for ocean city. . $17 for 8 chicken wings. $22 for nachos. Almost $20 a burger. Sent it back and got new one Another member of our party then noticed a 1 inch worm or noodle floating in her water. Sent that back and waiter never returned with replacement. Crab cake was just fair but definitely had excessive amount of filler. Wouldn't order again. Shrimp wrap was good Burgers were ok however the bacon burger tasted like it had sand in it. Was gritty exactly like sand when chewing it. Hope it wasn't sand. They didn't have any coffee for some reason Waiter was slow to return and would literally walk up to our table and slam the drinks on the other end and walk away. Never handed them out. It was very awkward. He did same with the check. Set it on the far end of the table and without a word just walked away. We wouldn't come here for food again. I was shocked when we got the bill - $164. First, the menu had no prices which was odd to begin with for a casual eatery, so perhaps my fault for not questioning it. Next, the food. The crab dip (which had little to no crab) was a few small spoonfuls and $20. The crab entree was $30 for 1 crab and a few forkfulls of rice pilaf (nothing else on the plate). The trio entree was $60 for 1 crab cake, 1 steak skewer and a small chicken breast, with a few forkfulls of rice. The remainder of the bill was for 2 alcohol drinks, 1 soda and a kids chicken nugget dish (which my kid didn't care for). While good, the food was severely overpriced. Not even in NYC (where I'm from) would we get overcharged for this quality and quantity of food. While a great family atmosphere, doubtful we will return. read more

The restaurant was not accommodating to allergy requests for food modifications. They would not make any accommodations for food modifications for one of the guests at my table. They took everyone's order and delivered food, while my friend was still figuring out what she could eat here. She has no issues with other restaurants, because they will put cheese on the side, or swap buttered bread for non buttered bread. But this restaurant would not help her out at all. She ended up not being able to order anything but chips and salsa. For dinner. If you don't have any allergies, then you'll probably enjoy the restaurant. But my friends and I will not be returning because of their lack of care to people with food allergies. read more

On a bachelorette weekend , a Saturday night in May, the restaurant was EMPTY--wanted to seat a group of 10 and move 2 tables together--BIG BIG NO NO. Manager said tops get loose from moving them?!? I went with to this place during Labor Day weekend! I give this place a two star because I had made reservations for 7:30pm for three people. We had two additions and we called prior to and they were accommodating, BUT when we got there we were literally 5 minutes late to the hostess stand. Mind you, we had to wait in line. When we got to those hostess stand the manager had given up our table as she listed us as a "walk away". She would not give us a table even though we explained we had to wait in line. We felt she was very rude to us and said we'd have to wait another 20 minutes even though we saw many empty tables. Food was good, service was subpar. My girlfriend was denied alcohol because she had an old formatted license. She's 23, 24 in two months and it says right on the license under 21 until 2020. Waitress and manager both said it was due to them getting fined for serving underage kids 3 times this summer. Maybe invest in a license scanner or train the staff on how to do the math to see if people are underage or not. Also the music in the room we were seated was so loud the bass was shaking the windows and seat the entire time we could barely have a conversation. The location and service were 5 stars and the prices were 5 star dining prices (hence the 3 stars)! We went for a casual lunch, ordered an app, a wrap and a salad (no alcohol). I was amazed to see the bill come out +$90!!!. I understand these are hard times for businesses and prices of goods/services are increasing but we felt a little deceived with no prices on the menu and then the bill comes out and was pretty much the same price as a finer dining establishment we went to the next evening for dinner. I was unaware that there was a QR code (we eat out a lot and most places that use QR codes do not provide you with menus as you sit down so I wasn't even looking for a code). Will we come back again? Maybe for a drink. The location is really great and our server was really great (can't remember his name but he was from Bulgaria). Having worked in the industry, my friend and I had even said that management did a great job with training because he was so attentive and was knowledgeable. I would just feel bad for that family that comes in thinking it is a casual lunch spot and ends up spending hundreds of dollars. Came here while on vacation with family; everything went well, food was good, service was exceptional. My only issue with 'De Lazy Lizard' arose when I attempted to order a margarita which prompted our waitress to ask to see my ID. I obliged and handed her my ID(small crack in the bottom) at which point she informed me that her manager would have to take a look at it since it was a vertical ID. She then returned accompanied by her manager who told me they could not serve me since my ID was cracked. While explaining this he was bending my ID at the crack almost breaking it off. I told him not to do that as I needed it to fly back home to which he scoffed and said they would never accept that at an airport or anywhere at all. I tried explaining how I have been using it fine everywhere else including the airport with the small crack in it and he again scoffed and refused to serve me. In conclusion food and service was okay but manager was a complete uneducated moron. read more

Fun place with the perfect bayside view of the sunset. We were sure there would be a long wait based on the number of cars in the Lazy Lizards several parking lots, but we were seated almost immediately. There are signs posted saying how they are short staffed, and even though it did seem to take a little longer for our order to arrive the view made up for it, as well as the positive attitude of the wait staff. The decor is fun, with multi colored LED palm trees that light up in the evening. The booths outside right along the waters edge seem made for a romantic dinner. Covid has given them some staffing issues and some menu items are not available, but its still a great dining experience. read more

I got the Honey Do chicken wrap; it was absolutely delicious. The salmon avocado wrap was also delectable! The blackened salmon flavors paired well with the fresh avocado. Chuck Long, however, got the shrimp salad wrap and found it mediocre at best. The "shrimp salad" was missing key components: the Mayo and the chopped celery. I pictured the wrap to have actual shrimp salad instead of just shrimp. But that was our only major complaint. Overall, a really great experience! Great drinks, great atmosphere! When someone drops $200 on food you want the best dining experience. We have been here a couple times and kids love the park and that's why we came back down. We have a house at the end of ocean city and drove down for this 45 mins but Never every again. the Ropewalk as a play ground also and we can go there. The food took forever. When it came wasn't hot. Serve took forever to come and check on by the time you complain it wasn't going to fix anything. Food came out and it wasn't hot either. The servers name was Trevor. I had to get up to look for him to get my husband some water. The water taste like salt water. The ocean water. He was so worry about eating a cake from the table next to him. My brother tacos were hard as a rock the nachos cheese was hard and the kids chicken nuggets taste like card board. I spoke to a young lady who was very nice and pointed out the issue. She was manager on duty. Nothing was remove from the check after all the complaint the food. Then we see there was charge for $.25 for water cups for kids. Really. I had ask the server is they kids get the fish bowl and he told us it's .25 for those but I told him not worry about it. It was 8 of us and only 7 of us were able to enjoy our meals because they wouldn't accommodate my vegan friend.
