First of all- apologies there are no food pics! The portions are average but filling. We had Andrej as our server and truly made our first visit special. The atmosphere is tropical with lot of seats, not too loud. Good for kids and adults. We were lucky to have awesome weather. Our drinks and food arrived promptly. Even the extra dish we ordered. Very happy and will be back!

De Lazy Lizard seems like an exciting place when the weather is great and you can sit outdoors. Unfortunately for us we went later after a huge rainstorm. I do think that may have impacted our experience. The drinks were delicious, but most of them were "ready made". We did order drinks in a collectors fish bowl and tiki mug, which was fun. We only ordered the cream of crab. While the flavor was there, it was too thick and gloopy as though it had been sitting for a while. Ultimately we'd go back for a drink and to experience the outdoor options but most likely skip the food.

$29 double burger with cheese and crab dip. Couldn't taste the crab dip. Up charge for mayo

Subpar food! See my photo to decide for yourself if this is a $29 burger. Came with a 4 bite salad. Requested mayo and our server brought us some for free but told us that he was supposed to charge us for mayo. Who charges for mayo on a plain burger? There was also a 3% charge added to our bill (just 2 people). I asked if it was for a credit card. He said no and pointed to the explanation on the menu which said it's to keep the lights on. I guess $29 for a basic burger isn't enough to keep the lights on. They need to pad the bill too. We definitely won't be back. My generous 2 points is for the pretty view and friendly server. The food gets a 1.

This place is exactly what you expect. It has nice seating near the water, a great sunset view. You're not coming here for delicious and innovative. It's basic, pre-prepped beachside food that is similar to what you'd get at a theme park or something. Cocktails are ultra sweet, burgers are frozen patties, buns come untoasted, sauce comes in a plastic condiment container. Crab cake was really fishy. No fries, just a bag of potato chips. Kind of disappointing given the price you pay. It was fine, it wasn't great and was around $80 for one cocktail and two sandwiches after tip. The servers were nice and service was really fast though, which was great. Also dog friendly so that was a huge plus!

First and FINAL visit to this place...one "bad apple" CAN spoil the bunch for sure. The food was actually decent; drink was pretty "watered down". Just like any other typical bar that offers food service...but had food, lacked service! Walked in, all booth seating along window side, narrow walk between those and the bar. All tables were full except 2 and those two were still littered with the last party's empties and things. Asked if we could sit at one; said they'd clear the table; grabbed about 4 of 11 items; never returned...... Asked a passing employee she started to grab the original person but did it herself instead (kudos to her, should've gotten her name). "Flip the tab to red if you need service, green if your good"...red red red until we had to ASK for menus and to have the table actually cleaned/wiped down. Drinks came in decent time after being warned they may not since the service bar's a little slower. Apps came in decent time. Food came in decent time. Requested additional side items were forgotten and asked server dropping food about them (sour cream, salsa, dressing), response was basically "ask your server". Think we did that already but thanks. When we finally figured out our server hadn't left for the day, we asked for the check and to split the bill. We were told it could only be split evenly, not per person, which was fine with us for the moment. Then every card declined on the handheld device the server was using. I let her know it HAD TO BE her machine and that was when she said "it actually may be my machine...I can do it at the bar". Probably should have started with that! I ended up using the same card to pay the full bill myself just so we could get out of there! From the time we walked in to paying the bill, took entirely too long! It took up most of the beginning of our afternoon and we didn't order anything overly complicated. Like I said...WON'T be back!

Food, drinks, and service aren't anything great, but they're able to accommodate large groups and have "beach playgrounds" for both big and little kids, which is what drew us there! Drinks were your typical beach drinks, and I had the fish tacos and chips. They were just okay and chips were too spicy to enjoy. We also ordered a kids meal to come out before our meals, and it was never brought out. The best thing about De Lazy Lizard is the ability to sit at your table while you watch your kids play on the playground. For that reason alone, we'd come back next time we're in town! It's also nice that you can make reservations online, and they could easily seat our group of 30ish, split between a few picnic tables.

    Beautiful bayfront view

Beautiful location with even better drinks, loved relaxing by the water and all the tiny attention to detail this place brings that really makes it a must hit spot in OC.

Dockside Bar Turned Tourist Trap - End of an Era Don't believe the 5-star ratings that are likely paid for by some third-party advertising agency. As OC locals, we were unpleasantly surprised during our recent visit to De Lazy Lizard. What used to be one of Ocean City's best dockside atmospheres with genuinely good food has turned into a total tourist trap after being bought out by another local restaurant chain. De Lazy Lizard used to serve a variety of good appetizers, light fare, and drinks, albeit at somewhat high prices. The seafood nachos were amazing...but they are no longer on the menu, vanished with many other favorites. Instead, they have been replaced with a new slimmed-down menu featuring typical and tired bar food designed to maximize profits, not customer satisfaction. It gets worse. You cannot change or alter ANYTHING on the menu. My son tried to order the JuJu Burger but asked to hold the mango salsa. Nope - that is an unallowable "menu item change" and required him to build a "custom burger" at a higher price...just to eliminate a topping he didn't want. I tried to order a bacon cheeseburger with fries...no again. If you want fries with an adult meal, you have to order a whole basket of them separately. Instead, my burger was supposed to come with gourmet "chips made fresh in the restaurant." However, when it showed up, the chips were bagged, and the burger patty was tiny and overcooked. It looked like a frozen ¼ pound patty that would be served at a school cafeteria. No burgers are cooked to temp, they all come like this. The rest of my family's food was equally disappointing. We also had to sit at separate tables. We were a party of 10 and were seated at two separate tables, each with its own server, as each physical table has its own assigned check that cannot be changed. Want to combine tables to suit a larger party - not happening. Want to split your check between families, not happening. It doesn't sound like a big deal except that half our party's food came out 10 minutes before the rest. They had finished eating before our meals arrived at the table. Long story short, what used to be an excellent dockside bar with great food and fun atmosphere has been bought out and turned into a typical tourist trap trying to squeeze every penny of profit from your wallet.

We usually stop by here to kill some time before heading out on the Sea Rocket boat ride. The view of the bay and the Harry W. Kelley Memorial Bridge is always a highlight. Seating is great--especially if you're lucky enough to snag a spot near the water dock. Watching all the boats go by adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The food was decent--not amazing, but definitely not bad. We tried the Crab Cake Sandwich with fries and the Chicken Sandwich with cheese and bacon. Both were satisfying. The drinks were solid, and we even kept the cups and shot glasses as souvenirs, which was a fun touch. Staff was friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. A great place to unwind and enjoy the view!

We dined with friends who had some issues with their food, but to keep things fair, I'm scoring this strictly from my own experience. We arrived at 5pm and were able to take advantage of the happy hour menu. The food came out fast and had great flavor. The mussels were my favorite dish of the night. The white wine garlic butter gave them an amazing taste that left me wanting more, and they were only $11 for Happy Hour instead of the regular $15. We also ordered the crab dip for $11, normally priced at $15. I loved the dip itself, but the Old Bay toast wasn't my favorite. I enjoy Old Bay, but it didn't feel necessary here. The Baha Mahi‑Mahi was fresh, and my wife's Angus New York strip was cooked exactly how she likes it. Somehow I forgot to take a picture of her dish. I would personally come back, but my friends said they wouldn't, which is a bummer. With a score of 24 out of 25, I'm giving this restaurant an A.

The restaurant was mostly empty so this was a mostly locals happy hour crowd for sure. Regular customer next to me pronounced the seasoned bartender the greatest of all time. We ordered a couple of house margaritas ($6.50) which came in a pint glass and were plenty strong. Only needed one of those! First up, crab dip. It came in a massive vessel, bubbling hot and lots of bread. This dish was so large I ate the leftovers three times. Big chunks of crab in a standard rich base. I brought rice crackers, but husband liked this plain bread better than the oily garlic toast that accompanied the mussels. Mussels were a big pile, with toast, in a mild broth. Not spectacular but a solid presentation. And finally, the boiled shrimp with old bay. Burning our fingers in our eagerness to peel and eat these babies, we got our fill for $10. Their cocktail sauce had an excellent texture, better than just ketchup and horseradish like some bars. Anyway, nice job and very economical! Bartender seemed disappointed we didn't need refills on drinks, but tomorrow is another day! Thanks for the hospitality, Coins!

Our bartender, Jon L., served us very well throughout the visit. The total bill was $128 excluding gratuity, which featured a 3% credit card surcharge of $3.57. After applying a $50 gift letter discount, the final bill was reduced down to $81. We all agreed that we will certainly return to visit Jordan and Cowan again.
