Service at De Lazy Lizard was superior to local restaurants. We came in with a big party of 11 people and got seated instantly for dinner! I got the Honey Do chicken wrap; it was absolutely delicious. The salmon avocado wrap was also delectable! The blackened salmon flavors paired well with the fresh avocado. Chuck Long, however, got the shrimp salad wrap and found it mediocre at best. The "shrimp salad" was missing key components: the Mayo and the chopped celery. I pictured the wrap to have actual shrimp salad instead of just shrimp. But that was our only major complaint. Overall, a really great experience! Great drinks, great atmosphere! Fun place with the perfect bayside view of the sunset. We were sure there would be a long wait based on the number of cars in the Lazy Lizards several parking lots, but we were seated almost immediately. There are signs posted saying how they are short staffed, and even though it did seem to take a little longer for our order to arrive the view made up for it, as well as the positive attitude of the wait staff. The decor is fun, with multi colored LED palm trees that light up in the evening. The booths outside right along the waters edge seem made for a romantic dinner. Covid has given them some staffing issues and some menu items are not available, but its still a great dining experience. read more

Food was good, service was subpar. My girlfriend was denied alcohol because she had an old formatted license. She's 23, 24 in two months and it says right on the license under 21 until 2020. Waitress and manager both said it was due to them getting fined for serving underage kids 3 times this summer. Maybe invest in a license scanner or train the staff on how to do the math to see if people are underage or not. Also the music in the room we were seated was so loud the bass was shaking the windows and seat the entire time we could barely have a conversation. Omg I don't know where to begin with this night. Came in with a family of 9. I wish I could give this a zero. Services started very slow and everything went down hill from there. When someone drops $200 on food you want the best dining experience. We have been here a couple times and kids love the park and that's why we came back down. We have a house at the end of ocean city and drove down for this 45 mins but Never every again. the Ropewalk as a play ground also and we can go there. The food took forever. When it came wasn't hot. Serve took forever to come and check on by the time you complain it wasn't going to fix anything. Food came out and it wasn't hot either. The servers name was Trevor. I had to get up to look for him to get my husband some water. The water taste like salt water. The ocean water. He was so worry about eating a cake from the table next to him. My brother tacos were hard as a rock the nachos cheese was hard and the kids chicken nuggets taste like card board. I spoke to a young lady who was very nice and pointed out the issue. She was manager on duty. Nothing was remove from the check after all the complaint the food. Then we see there was charge for $.25 for water cups for kids. Really. I had ask the server is they kids get the fish bowl and he told us it's .25 for those but I told him not worry about it. It was 8 of us and only 7 of us were able to enjoy our meals because they wouldn't accommodate my vegan friend. Came here while on vacation with family; everything went well, food was good, service was exceptional. My only issue with 'De Lazy Lizard' arose when I attempted to order a margarita which prompted our waitress to ask to see my ID. I obliged and handed her my ID(small crack in the bottom) at which point she informed me that her manager would have to take a look at it since it was a vertical ID. She then returned accompanied by her manager who told me they could not serve me since my ID was cracked. While explaining this he was bending my ID at the crack almost breaking it off. I told him not to do that as I needed it to fly back home to which he scoffed and said they would never accept that at an airport or anywhere at all. I tried explaining how I have been using it fine everywhere else including the airport with the small crack in it and he again scoffed and refused to serve me. The food was solid but the service was terrible. I went here after a flag football tournament in ocean city. We had a party of 5 that spilt our checks 3 ways. The waiter took my card and divided the bill with a pen. Magically they came back and I was charged the entire bill which was 314.88 on my debit card. What made it even worse was the waiter had the audacity to lie and say they didn't charge me but it's a hood when i had the receipt of 314.88 in my hard. They tried to give me a bullshit answer of how it's some hold and it will come off. It gets worse. They charged the other people at the table as well so it would Of been easier for those folks to give me money. This is one of my favorite places to eat in the area. I found it a couple of years ago and couldn't wait to go back this year to eat there again. But I saw the mixed reviews and was concerned they wouldn't be as good the second time around. The location is great, right on the water with it's own mini dock. There is indoor (air-conditioned) seating, outdoor seating, and an outdoor bar area. The view is great, facing the sunset. The staff was friendly both times- they greeted us immediately and we barely waited both times (2-top and 5-top). They came right away to take our drink orders, and we didn't have to wait long to have our food orders taken. They offer my favorite version of the crab-burger thus far (their crabby patty burger) but my second time around, one of the ladies I was with said it was too salty for her taste. I'd still eat it again, though, and I cook most of my food at home without any salt. We had an order of fish and chips, and the fries that came with were amazing. I'd order that by itself if I could. I stopped by their t-shirt shop both times and picked up their women's tank tops (updated each season, I think) and I love them- they have cute designs from their colorful lizard logos to low-key prints. We ventured here from our hotel. Nice little stroll before sunset. The set up here is awesome indoor, partially covered and outdoor seating. We opted for outdoor sunset on the bay. Tables placed in the sand., keep your feet warm. And your mind even happier. The sunset view is one of the best in Ocean city. The service was surprisingly solid. Our server made sure to check on us just enough. Kept our drinks full and perfect. The food was 8/10, could of came out sooner. But hey sunset, bayside, and great drinks. Worst experience ever. We've been coming here for years and it has been going downhill. We couldn't order a plain cheeseburger because we had to order it they way it came which was with bacon. We could build our own but it would cost more. Dumbest thing I've ever heard. We wanted less food but we would be charged more! So we ordered a grilled cheese but it came out the same way as their Shorebelly Grilled Cheese (which we also ordered). We were told after it was served that the plain grilled cheese is reserved for kids 12 and under. Seriously??? The server could have told us that before trying to deliberately upcharge us. We (a group of nine) arrived shortly before 7 pm on August 25th. We were seated at the outer bar area -- before you walk outside. We had a female waitress. Since most items were Market Price we proceeded to ask her for prices. She could not give us any, nor did she offer to find out! It should be noted that the restaurant was not extremely busy. The drinks were weak; the beer was warm. The waitress-- totally inattentive. There are no signs on the walls or in the menu that state checks couldn't be split. When we asked, she said they can only split 4 ways, because the credit card system takes 2 minutes to process. She was rather rude to us. We told her most of us were paying with cash, so four ways would work. She came back, threw the bill on the table-- not split at all! She walked away and never returned to the table. Wow! Checked this place out for the first time on a recommendation from OC moms. This place was great fun; fenced in kids play area, decent kids menu, and fabulous adult food. Had the two jumbo lump crab cake entrée and a bacon cheeseburger. The lump crab cakes were broiled and fantastic mostly lump, little filler. I ordered my burger well done and it was cooked to order without being charred to a crisp. With the views of the bay (complete with dolphin sightings), way better than expected food, and spacious kids' play area, this is our new fav kiddie location in OC. read more

I think the restaurants in ocean city will be good or bad to to the staff since most are foreign temps on that our experience at the lizard was great besides it was 110 degrees out side but the service was awesome the waiter and seating crew were American and great they gave my 3 year old a couple ok frozen drink to keep her occupied and he suggested the blackened fish tacos that were awesome and the wife got shrimp nachos they were also good the daughter loved this place due to they have a playground in sand where you eat so she was excited about that so if you have kids this is a great place to eat I would def come back read more

Ultimately we enjoyed this place and will likely return on future trips to OC. Good: -Atmosphere is great - outdoors around a dock, good view of the Bay (although the bridge takes away from the view a bit). Casual beachy atmosphere with tables in the sand. -Food is super tasty and reasonably priced. The grilled cheese with crab dip and bacon (sandbilly maybe??) was aaaamazing. Other members of my party enjoyed a salad and some flatbread and were happy with their food. Pretty wide selection of sandwiches, salads, appetizers, baskets, etc. Great selection of fruity frou-frou drinks, too! -Employees were friendly and helpful. Not so good: -They won't seat you without your full party. Even if that last member is just parking the car. -Some concern about safety for children. While we were there, two children were injured - one stepped on something that cut their foot, the other hit their face on the metal of the sandy play structure. Accidents do happen with kids, but that seemed excessive. The dock drop off is somewhat concerning for kids, too. -Service was inconsistent. Started out great, but our server seemed overwhelmed by her table load and visited us less and less. -Boat exhaust - because the restaurant is on a dock, boats and jet skis actually pull in and out.
