Friendly people here. De Los Altos was the only eatery open before 11 a.m. so i tried .them. taqueria menu looks typical.. pricing is higher than oaktown, probably similar to the mission, s.f. Burritos 8ish.. eats: fish/lengua taco(2.29) -double layer of tortillas, may have been flour, was so soft. -tender small cubes of juicy lenguq, some veggies. -fish gently griilled/fried? not sure which. no breading lots of veggies. tasted fresh -minimal salsa used. fab fresh taste. crumbs: -didn't see salsa bar, didn't really look. -food cooked to order from kitchen, not scooped from prepared trays in front. -fresh food, portions not small, so good value given. -no chips given, don't really care about chips anyways. read more

This is our go-to spot for simple, yet good Mexican food. We haven't gone into some of the larger plates, but as far as the tacos, tacos w/ cheese, Cali Burrito and Shrimp Tostadas - we will continue to reorder them! They are all great. For those, they are 5/5. We usually order pick-up, and the staff is always nice whether eating in, or for pickup. The Carne Asada fries are pretty good too, though I think they could be better. Everything that goes ON the fries, is great! I think the fries could use some work though - perhaps something to make them a little crisper. They seem to be a little too mushy, and get soggy to easily under the goodness of toppings they add. All in all, we'll keep ordering the Asada fries, and we'll hope they find a new frying technique for the fries to raise the review to an overall 5/5. Agreed, 3.5 stars. It's biggest plus is the location, it's pretty centrally located for the area and was the closest Mexican food place to my old job. Carna Asada fries were good in terms of ingredients/qualities, but they were just plopped on top of the fries in gloppy lines - it made it hard to get an even amount of everything in each bite. i actually was planning to try out the noodle hut place next door, but since they only take cash even though on yelp, it said they take credit/debit card too, i ended up eating here instead. I always wanted to try the menudo, but they said they don't have it, big disapointment, but then I ended up with the only soup that they have which was the posole. It look good when it came out and all, but it was fcking plain in taste, even after i added 2 pieces of lime, the dice onion, and cabbage that came as a condiments for the soup, still plain, and let just say it was missing a good taste lol. The posole did have a lot of meat in it, and the portion did made me really full though. overall it wasn't a horrible meal, just not a very tasty meal that all. read more

Their portions are generous and prices are reasonable. One burrito feeds me for 2 to 3 meals. I regularly order the shrimp burrito and it never disappoints. Breakfast burritos are good too. I gave this place 4 tries and every time the customer service is horrible. I try to give restaurants multiple attempts to make a legit review. The food here is average at best so I would recommend that they really coach their employees. I would recommend Las Vegas taqueria down the street because they're service always comes with a smile. I really wanted to like this place. Story: I ordered a melon aqua fresca. When I finally reminded the girl about my drink she served it to me with an upset face. The cup was full of seeds but she told me that it's just the pulp so I proceeded to take a big sip and had a mouth full of shredded seeds from the cantaloupe. The seed were very visible in the cup so when I asked her if I could exchange it for horchata because of the seeds and she gave told me I was wrong and it's pulp. I drank it in front of her. I then had to tell her that if I choked on all these seeds then it would be potentially a choking hazard. Instead of saying anything to me, she just spoke Spanish to her coworker and gave me an angry look. I really hope that the management takes a look to improve their customer service because this restaurant has potential but so sad to see that their employees can cause their downfall read more

I've been here a couple of times and the place isn't that bad, but it's not great either. The decor is average, spacious and dirty. The menu is big so there's lots of options. I do like that the food is not oily at all. The chips are really good and I love the soft chicken tacos. The beans are okay, rice is pretty dry. Also you might want to ask if something is spicy or not. My dad ordered one of their shrimp dishes, it did not indicate that the shrimp would be spicy but ended up being too spicy for him. Their burritos are pretty good too. Overall, the food's not too bad but it's not the best Mexican food I've ever had. But if you need a fix on Mexican food, it's not a bad option. read more

Definitely wouldn't recommend this place if you believe in good customer service. We ordered over the phone and when we arrived at the restaurant, everything was all wrong. But instead of complying with their customers they argued instead. The lady at the register wasn't any help, so the manager had came over hostile as well. Claiming WE placed the wrong order. This place is yummy! As a Mexican, I am very critical of Mexican cuisine. The chicken flautas are my fave! My other half has tried a variety of dishes and all of them are tasty! The place is big and looks clean. The staff is friendly and quick. The agua frescas are good and not overly sweet. They also have a location in Mountain View which I used to go years ago cause I worked a few blocks away. That location is great too! I'm a regular here and I would recommend this place. read more

I happened to be in the area and this little take out restaurant was open with a few tables outdoors. Given the reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. However, I ordered a taco salad with pinto beans and a carne asada quesadilla. Boy I was blown out of the water. The carne asada quesadilla was filled with meat, cheese guacamole and sour cream. The flavors were very delicious. The guacamole was fresh and had a nice lime essence, the carne asada was seasoned well and packed in the quesadilla. The taco salad was very large and filled with grilled chicken, lots of sour cream, guacamole and plenty of fluffy rice and warm pinto beans. We got 2 free bags of tortilla chips with salsa. The chips are thin and crispy and fresh. The salsa was pleasantly mild and a little lackluster but still good and I drizzled it in my salad. Overall, a solid a 4 stars and affordable for what you get. I will definitely be back. read more

Just had a scrumptious breakfast burrito here. They had two options: chorizo or jamon. I picked jamon. Went here around 11am... very nice staff and got my food fairly quick. I love the flautas and the CRUNCHY not CRISPY tacos,(take notes on that)! The woman who took my order gave me a stern talking to about that. I may even write it down for future reference. She was seriously ticked off. I feel the service is one of the worst I've experienced. I come here a couple of times weekly because it's close to my office. Today I was prepared and was extra friendly because this woman seems to be trying to break a bad mood record. Maybe she needs a hug because my smile and polite demeanor did nothing to improve her attitude and tone. I think I'll spread my joy elsewhere from now on.
