Such a clean nail salon with a well-organized color coded nail polish rack. I wish more nail spas would take note of this since it's so much easier to select colors this way! Got a gel manicure ($30) and lavender pedicure ($30). It's about $15 more altogether than I normally pay at the other nail spa I frequent. However, this is much closer to home and I was too lazy to drive to San Jose today. Kelly helped me out and she was very sweet, offering me beverages and even providing a little plate of chocolates while she worked on my pedicure. She did a good job, but if I had to really critique the place, my cuticles were not as meticulously cleaned as what I'm accustomed to. What I loved was the huge selection of gel colors and the comfortable love seat chairs! Two hours of pampering later, since it took that long, I watched a Korean movie in its entirety and I left with pretty, glossy cherry red nails. Loved the color called "Keys to My Karma" on my toes! I hate writing this review, but my last visit here left a sour taste in my mouth. I used to come here years ago when the salon was half the size. I moved to another part of the bay and haven't been for a while. Decided to try again with a friend. We had a great visit and our nails were great. I went again by myself for the next visit. I paid with a credit card and unfortunately I had to tip on the card because I had my bank account hacked a few days before and had no cash until I got a new debit card to pull cash with. I served for years and ALWAYS tip cash, and I tip well. An employee of the salon (guessing owner? manager? I never see her doing nails) was sitting next to my nail tech checking me out, bluntly says in not the nicest tone, "tip cash here." I kindly explained that my bank account was shut down due to the fraudulent activity and that I usually tip cash, especially given my service background, but was unable this one time. She was still pretty rude and reiterated that they want a cash tip there. I left with SUCH a sour taste in my mouth, especially for the response after I told them I usually tip cash but was dealing with a fraud investigation and a frozen debit card to pull cash with that day. At least show a little sympathy, a softer response, and maybe something along the lines of, "sorry to hear that. If you can do cash next time, we would really appreciate that," instead of demanding a cash tip and making me feel awful in front of other people in the salon. I do like my nails when I get them done here, but not sure I can come back after the last experience. read more

I really enjoy the atmosphere of this place. The ladies are all very nice, and they really appreciate their clients. My first experience with De Paris was found through searching for a nail salon in the East Bay that did 3D nails. First visit: Called earlier in the week to schedule an appointment for that Saturday. Was able to schedule one with out any problems. Came in at my appointment time and was seen right away by Yvonne. She was such a sweetheart. I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she was able to replicate it perfectly. I also added a 3D Hello Kitty, and a 3D bow as decorations. I loved them! I spent a pretty penny on them, but I anticipated doing so as I wanted to go all out on them. They were definitely worth it though. Ever since, I schedule my appointments for my fills every 3 weeks to ensure I grab an appointment before they fill up. They tend to get very busy on the weekends, so I'd highly suggest calling ahead of time just on case. I've had the pleasure of having Kim do my fills, and she always does such a great job. I love my fun nails, and she's very helpful in my decision making to give me the best, glam nails I can. I can't complain about enjoying a mimosa while getting my nails done! They're such a nice addition to the experience. They also have water, sodas, teas - so if they offer you something to drink, or you would like something, you have plenty of options! Don't be afraid to ask in case they don't offer it right away - they're very nice and willing to make your experience enjoyable. Words can't describe the incredible experience I had here today! I'm someone who rarely gets her nails done, so it was a miracle I was able to get off work early enough to make it. They accommodated a last minute phone appointment for me. After looking at their menu, I was intrigued by their Lynth gel nail manicure. This is essentially a gel manicure with tips and the same fill in except it isn't acrylic. Lynth gel is much stronger and feels a lot lighter creating a more natural feel. It is a bit pricier but it is DEFINITELY worth the money! Especially if you're someone who rarely gets their nails done. The customer service and atmosphere is exceptional here - everyone is extremely friendly and accommodating and even if they're busy you won't feel neglected. They have mimosas, water, soda, tea; any beverage of your choice - complimentary! This is not your average nail salon. You walk in and immediately feel welcome. Do not go and waste your time this place is one of the worst I have ever been to. First of I want all you to know how dirty this place is I honestly don't know why I stuck around and proceeded with my service the only thing that looked clean was the bathroom everything else was dirty. Also along with the dirtiness I don't think they sanitize their equipment, the gloves they wear stay on through different clients I know this because the lady who was doing my pedi left me to start on another client and did not change her gloves! talk about the spread of germs and bacteria. Secondly on their customer service skills sucks I had made an appointment for my grandmother, sister, my daughter and I for 12 they told me they could take three first then the last one a little after which is fine my daughter only needed to paint her nails. So we get there at 12 we wait a good thirty min before they sat two of us (grandmother and sister) by 12:50 I get seated to start my acrylic set and my nerves start to shake she's using the drill on my natural nail (which is a big NO NO ) puts the tip on and uses the drill again! For some reason when I tell them my knowledge I learned in beauty school or tell them not to use it they don't like to listen ‍ anyways she's done with the application and the lady who is going to do my daughters nails sits her in her chair in the sofa room and try's to sit me on the opposite side leaving my baby to sit by herself and had the nerve to give me a look when I ask to sit by my daughter who is 3 years old. Now while I'm in the sofa room waiting for my pedi it took a good 15/20 min to get my pedi started. The lady who was doing my nails didn't come back to finish my nails until the end and only tried to finish because the lady who was doing my feet had left me with my feet in the wax to start on another client. Now I am the type of person who is very easy going and it takes a lot for me to get mad but leaving me again for 20 more min to work on someone else not being sanitary and just the all in all experience made me really mad I started taking off my towels to get ready to leave. at the end my toes are not painted my acrylics have one coat of paint she hurried to paint them and soaked my hands in cuticle oils and told me to run it in leaving me again. I'm cringing at the process she did to them I'm praying I don't get no infections or that my nail beds are ruined this is all in all was the worst experience I have ever had. Out the door for the four of us was over 300 my grandma has Knick's on almost all her fingers from them cutting her cuticles to short her feet weren't scrubbed they were rough on her hands which she has arthritis and you can definitely see that she dose they did some strange massage on her shoulder which was a knocking performance only on her right side which she had surgery on and is sensitive ‍ I mean that I know is something that they would not know but communication is key especially is the beauty industry. For both my sister and grandmother they were both left for a good 20 in the chair as well. Oh and to top it off they offered me water in the very beginning and I accepted the lady told me "it's over there" leaving me to get myself water from a styrofoam cup and it being warm as well. I am thrilled, thrilled, and oh yes - thrilled with my brand new full set of acrylics. Although I'm a nail art junkie, have a nail blog, and change my polish every day, I'd never gotten any nail "enhancements" before. I was impressed at De Paris' selection of colors - all brand name like CND, OPI, Zoya, etc. Seche, a high quality topcoat, was used on my nails as well. I've never seen Seche used in a nail salon (admittedly, I haven't been to a ton). My nail tech, Mye, raised her eyebrows at the piece of paper I brought in. It was practically an architectural rendering with a detailed list of exactly what I wanted, because I have trouble explaining what I want in salons! She was gracious, and admitted she'd rather have all this detail than a customer who walks away unhappy. Mye spent a lot of time making sure the length and thickness of my nails was perfectly even. I ended up getting a set of acrylic nails, using tips, not sculpted. Tips are stronger. I initially wanted to get a 3-D "Japanese Style" bow on my ring fingers, but what I didn't know is that these appliques are covered with a clear permanent gel and cured. So if you change your polish often, that's something to consider. I think I'll get one next time I need a fill. Enough about me - the salon is clean, the staff are personable and friendly, and yes - "Friends" is on an endless loop on their two TVs. This could be a positive or negative, depending on how you regard this show. The pedi chairs are Lazy-Boy style, with the techs bringing in big bowls of water instead of the "massage thrones" we all know and love (to varying degrees). This might seem like a cop-out, or being cheap, but it's so much more sanitary. People get fungus & infections from those whirlpool foot tubs! My set of standard acrylic nails was only $25! I thought I'd heard Mye wrong when she said the price. Tip these ladies well - they deserve it! I paid in all cash, but it looks like you're able to pay for your service with a card, but tips need to be in cash regardless. The only things I would change would be possibly more communication with the techs - it was nice not getting a hard upsell, but I would have gotten a few flowers, etc, painted on my nails if she'd asked. I'm most definitely going to come back to De Paris, for a fill and some 3-D nail art. This is only $5 per nail/$45 full set, by the way! read more

Called ahead on a Sunday afternoon and they were able to fit me in a few hours later. When I got there the decor was very tasteful and modern and I waited about ten minutes, which is fine because Friends was playing on the TV. My nail tech, Thi (or Tina) immediately asked me if I wanted something to drink: coffee, tea, mimosas... And of course I chose the mimosas. She was friendly but not overly chatty, which is exactly what I wanted. I got a full set of acrylics done with clear/light pink gel polish on top, and it was amazing--almost exactly like the reference picture I showed her. She also checked with me multiple times about the length of nail and the color of polish I wanted, which I appreciated since it was my first time getting acrylics. Yes, it was a little pricey ($45 for full set) but the level of service I got was worth it. The entire visit took around an hour and 45 minutes, and Thi took her time to check and make sure each nail was perfect. *This review is mainly about their pedicure service and a woman named Yen. However, I still don't see how this place has 4.5 stars...(most of the high reviews are from 1-3 years ago) The place itself: -This place is overpriced. $30 for a basic pedicure, $40 or $45 for a gel mani. if this place actually was luxurious or nice, then it's more justifiable but it's not. -The place is pretty old and demure, with a dead fish in dirty water and super gross old pedicure seats. does not fit the prices or the name of the salon. doesn't provide good vibes. the colors are dark and it overall, just feels a little old and creepy. The pedicure & Yen experience: -the pedicure is given in a silver wash basin, like the bowls you use to wash vegetables in. not kidding. and for $30? and there really is not much scrubbing or lotion or anything. even more horrifying, who knows if they even wash this vegetable bowl?? -again, no spa jets. like you could go to the closest 99 ranch and buy a crappy big bowl and throw some rocks in it and call it a day like what they did. -the pedicure chairs are old and cracked, there are old candy wrappers, and it just felt really dirty and gross. -My pedicurist (Yen) was very unfriendly. Would it hurt to smile once? -i was also very uncomfortable on the gross old chair. my legs couldn't reach Yen comfortably, so I had to literally hold my thigh stable with my arms. I was going here over a year ago then stopped because it was way to hard to get an appointment and understaffed. Now this place is really nice since the expansion and re-model. There are a least 5 more technicians and all nice ladies. Too many colors to choose from and the largest selection of gel colors in the area. The beat part is the cleanliness of the salon. You get your own set of manicure tools and foot bath. No ones feet junk in your water.... There is also a Ipad a every chair for pedicure. Came back a little close to a month since my last mani and walked away with no complaints. Yen (pedi) and Kelly (mani) took care of me this time and I could not have been more happier with the time and care they put into their work. With my pedi, I had some pain in my feet and Yen was very careful not to hurt me, but to do her best to do make sure she was able to cut and clean my nails properly. For my gel mani, Kelly took her time in applying generous coats of nail polish and especially in working on the intricate design I had requested. I can't emphasize enough how I love how thorough they are in the work they do, and that it's SO greatly appreciated. This is my regular go to place when I need a manicure and pedicure. I have tried so many nail salons in the area and I ended up with this one and become a regular customer! I love everything about Paris! Clean, everything is sanitized, staffs are very nice, friendly and patient. You will never feel rushed and they offer drinks/chocolate once you sit down. Did I mention they also offer mimosa other than water/tea? That's definitely a huge plus! They offer different kinds of pedicure here and I have tried the minty one (comes with scrub, hot stone massage, and paraffin wax) and lavender ones so far (without the paraffin wax). I love both of them! They also have extensive nail/gel nail color selection and I always get my get nail color done in here. For those who decided to get your nails done in here, make an appt in advance. This place does get very busy and they will turn down walk-ins when they get too busy so do call them before you come. I come here every 3-4 weeks for mani and pedi so I do make appt ahead of time. Pleased yet again! The entire staff is always very pleasant. My first time here was for my wedding trial last October 2014. Kim made my special day all the more special with her skill and vision. I've been coming here ever since. My manicurist (who's name I shall not mention) always does a great job with me. She always tries and always succeeds in making my design ideas come to life. I can count on her for a thorough manicure; from sculpting ugly and dead cuticles into perfectly shaped nails. Her paint jobs are pristine! 4 weeks later it still looks good! Grows out even and perfect. I've tried to fool myself in going to other places closer to home, but enough with the tomfoolery. Traveling 30-45 minutes to De Paris is well worth it. Never thought I would rate this place a 3/5, but Cathy takes the cake. Whatever you do avoid Cathy. I am not a difficult person to please. I want simple nails and normally one color. Cathy swatched a deep teal color, but I didn't like it on my skin tone. So we ended up switching to this pretty mauve, which was literally empty and she applied it after hitting the bottle multiple times. I would have been fine with keeping the color, but it had random specks of glitter in it from previous customers and it was applying horribly. I know that Cathy saw it, but she kept going. She applied one nail polish to one finger on one hand and made me go under the lamp and then she literally kept alternating my hands, one finger at a time. Who does that? She finally asked me if I liked it and I said I don't. She gets all huffy and rude with me. Starts cleaning and talking under her breath. She told me to wait for Amy and left me with acetone on my fingers for over 10 minutes. My hands were dried out and I spent over 2 hours for a simple gel manicure. I am so thankful for the other ladies at this salon. GOD BLESS AMY! She's literally one of my favorite girls there and she takes her time to make sure that you are satisfied. De Paris Nail Spa is definitely unique in the "extras" you receive while you are there. I visited the salon twice before giving a review because I wanted to give it another chance to move up in rating, but it was not to be. What are these extras? - Leather oversized recliners where you receive your pedicures - Refreshments (including champagne and candy/snack size candy bars) provided - Relatively relaxing environment - Friends on repeat on the 2 big screen tvs - IPads are available while you're getting your pedicure The other pluses? - Nail art and 3d designs - The basic pedi includes a hot stone massage and rose petals in your soaking water and a hot towel wrap - The take their time in providing the treatments - Technicians are friendly So why did I give this place 3 stars? - While the technicians take their time to do their work, they REALLY take their time if it's not all that busy, so plan to spend a good chunk of time there. Not an issue if you have a lazy day going on, but don't expect to necessarily be in and out of there - If you're looking for a place to get great nail art, including 3d nail art, you can get it here, but only if you have it done by the owner, Kim. Kim did my 3d nail art on my manicure, and it was beautiful. Don't hold your breath on the other technicians having a whole lot of skill (or any) in this area. I can't even count how many different nail salons I've been to around the country, and I would have thought that those simple flowers made with a dotting tool was standard....like nail art flowers 101. But the technicians almost seemed at a loss. They were definitely at a loss in trying to create a shamrock for my friend's and my St. Patrick's day themed nails. We even provided a picture of what they looked like, but at the end of the day they just ended up looking like green blobs. - I got a french pedicure and french shellac manicure both times here. The french shellac manicure was well done. The french pedicure was done well with one exception...the top coat. I don't know what kind of top coat they use here, but it's not one that dries fast. I got my pedicure done first and then had my manicure done...which took at least another 45 minutes to an hour. One would think (and has in the past at every other nail salon) that the pedicure would be dry enough to not have to worry about being tacky or smudging it at that point. Not the case here. Unfortunately I didn't notice it until I was halfway home, and at that point, I just decided to remedy the situation at home by touching up the french tip and topping with a coat of Seche Vite on all of my toes to provide a shiny topcoat and one that dries like it should. This happened on both of my visits. At the end of the day? I would go back when I have a chunk of time to kill, wanted something close to home and could get my appointment scheduled with Kim. Today was my 2nd time to visit this nail salon. The first time was an acrylic full set by Tina. It was my first time to have acrylic nails done so I wasn't really sure what the steps are and how the flow of the service should be. That particular visit didn't really leave me with a good impression as it felt like the whole thing g was rushed. Although it is understandable considering I got there an hour before the closing time with an appointment. Tina is a pro with acrylic nails but the problem was she was too fast and and not cautious in what she was doing. I ended up with a small cut after. Tina is great tho, she's very nice and chatted me and made me ginger tea which I thought was really nice. The nails lasted long and the shape, quality was very good. The second visit however was much better. I had fillers done by Lihn. She is so sweet and talked the whole time. She has an eye for detail and made sure the length, shape and look were to my liking. At first I was nervous of how it will end up looking like as she took her time in doing my nails but I guess she just wanted to perfect it and make sure they looked natural. First time at this place on a Saturday afternoon and they fit me and friend in right away! They are very busy l most people have appointments but we were just lucky that someone canceled and sat us down quickly. The atmosphere is very welcoming and more modern than most nail shops. We were greeted immediately as we came in the door and they even offered coffee, tea, and mimosas. I had a sore throat and my nail tech, Tina, made me a honey ginger tea, ugh, could they be any more perfect! I came in knowing what I wanted but wasn't sure if they could do it because I've gone to other nail shops asking for the same thing and they just didn't know what I was talking about. I was super lucky to get Tina because she had the secret recipe to get the exact same effect I wanted on my nails. She was really careful and completely transformed my previous set into something beautiful! I LOVE this place. I started coming here about a year ago but stopped because 1) my favorite manicurist ever (Ann) was only available once a week. I've never met anyone like Ann. She's honestly the sweetest person ever. The first time I got my nails done by her she finished both hands and I hated the color and she changed it! Didn't complain at all or make dirty faces at me. She's extremely patient, which is a plus for me because I'm SUPER picky. The second reason why I stopped coming here was because I feel that they over charge way too much for designs (Hence the 4 star review) Anyway, since Ann wasn't available today I tried Kelly out for my pedicure and OMG. she's just as sweet as Ann!!! This review is not so much based on the facility but moreso the service. Although I expected more than a silver mixing bowl with some mint leaves thrown in for a 45 pedi! The lady doing my pedi was Soo rude talking about me and my kids right in front of us in her foreign language!! She was throwing my feet around with absolutely no respect! Very very rough service. When she clipped and scrubbed it was so rough and forcefull as if she was working on a manequin.. then on her phone constantly with no customer service whatsover. I got 2 acrylic fills done by Mye. I love that she is gentle but meticulous with shaping my nails to a beautiful coffin shape. I'm not normally a talkative person, but Mye is incredibly easy to chat with and made me feel comfortable. This is the first salon where I walked out absolutely loving the shape of my nails! Absolutely love love love this place! Been coming here for a long time and am never dissatisfied. All the nail technicians are amazing! My feet are so spoiled and my hands aren't far behind. It's so clean and serene, and my best part is the pedi chair. With the standard chairs found on many other nail salons, I've caught fungal infections. Dr Paris Nail Spa uses stainless steel bowls which can be sanitized way better than the massage chairs with the foot bath attached. I usually get my nail done at the mall since it's convenient but I wanted to get it done at the real (professional) nail salon. This is the place I chose after yelping for couple hours. I made the right decision :) I was thinking to get glitter tip full set but I got acrylic pink & glitter. I didn't make it clear so it's part of my fault but I still love what was done. Their customer service is really good. I made an appt for 6 pm. When I got there they were busy. I was watching TV while I was waiting Kim came over and asked me if I want something to drink. They might have messed up the schedule or something I had to wait almost half an hour. They kept apologizing about the wait and offered me free design on my nail. I wanted to try 3D design so I got a bow. Overall I am pretty satisfied and recommend the place for everyone around Fremont & Newark area!!! read more

I got my nails done there the other day and they were horrible. My ring finger was sooo crooked and my nails on my thumbs were so uneven and they didn't even look like they were coffin like I wanted. Once they were done I had nails glue all over my hands. That same day ma thumb nail broke and I was just pulling up my pants and the next day 2 more nails broke. Never going back! read more
