This was one course of seven with chive mousse and light seafood and edible flowers

Situated in a 17th century home along a canal, the prix fixe menu is one delightful dish after another, presented with color, flavor and creativity. Most importantly it's delicious. And the service was warm and the ambience welcoming.

A top notch, personal, wonderful experience. Food was utterly artful and delicious, service attentive, people warm. Atmosphere was classic and elegant, like going back in time while eating Michelin-level dishes. Very special. Would go back. Highly recommend!

Wanted to do at least one fine dining restaurant in Amsterdam. After doing lots of research, we picked De Silveren Spiegel as it looked like one of the best restaurants in the city! Can safely say that was the case. Decided to go with eight course tasting menu, as it offered the most variety. Came with North Sea Crab, Beetroot, Scallops, Trout, Veal, and Red-Legged Partridge as entrées, and Milk and Honey and an appropriately-named Dessert as desserts. Really enjoyed the food, the portions were pretty sizeable for a tasting menu and the presentation was very creative. For €145, this was well-worth the price. Service is great here! Everyone was extremely friendly. We were well taken care of. They carefully explained every dish so that we knew what we were eating. I am honestly bemused that De Silveren Spiegel only has a recommendation on Michelin, as I think that it is definitely worthy of one Michelin star. Really enjoyed my dinner here, would love to come back.

This was my second time dining here, this recent visit we got the 8 course menu with wine pairing and WOAW. Our waiter was phenomenal, such a treat. Each course arrived with a flourish of excitement, as they all held little bits of magic. The wines were excellent! The house that the restaurant is in dates to 1614. Sixteen fourteen! As an American, how impressive this is cannot be emphasized enough. Hope to bring my family here this summer. Geweldig!!!!!!!!!

We've eaten chef's tasting menu dinners at a number of restaurants in Europe and the US and I can state unambiguously that the 6-course with paired wines was the most exceptional experience ever. The beauty and intricacies of the items were actually exceeded by the complexity and delight of their taste. As mentioned in most reviews, the beautiful dining room in the 1614 building is all you could want for an Amsterdam experience.

Celebrated our anniversary at this lovely restaurant. The building is historic from 1600s, and very impressive. It's beautiful. On to the food. We had reservations for 8 courses + 8 wine pairings. Everything was delicious. I don't remember much of what i actually ate but rest assured, they were fantastic. Presentation was impeccable. The artistry of each dish was a sight to behold. The wine pairings were perfect as well. I'm glad I took pics because I need them in my life lol. Service was top notch, perfection. We truly felt special. What an amazing last night in Amsterdam. One of the greatest experiences ever!

This restaurant is a wonderful dining experience. Set in a 400 year old house, it is step back in time. The host is pleasant and welcoming. Our server, Harry Potter(yes that is his real name) along with his associates explained the delicious dishes they served. We chose the 8-course meal that started out with the chef's complimentary canapés that were a delight of surprising flavors. The scallops, langoustine, quail and lamb were prepared in unique, flavorful ways that makes me wonder why they don't have a Michelin star. And the two desserts at the end were fabulous. We would recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Amsterdam.

What an absolute surprise! fabulous find for fine diners without being over done and pretentious. This place has amazing food and wine pairing, great service and a fun quirky atmosphere. An ancient historic house with a tilt! total food porn! If your visiting Amsterdam and want a great experience-don't miss it. Definitely make a reservation in advance.

This evening in Amsterdam was not a dinner out for 6 friends...it was an EXPERIENCE! Yes, small plate size servings but by the end of the evening we were more than satisfied. Each dish is artistically presented and delicious. Make your reservations well in advance. You won't be disappointed!

Absolutely incredible meal last night! I had high hopes for this dinner but they were definitely exceeded. I can't say enough wonderful things about the waitstaff, the food and the overall experience. Our three and a half hour meal took us through six beautiful courses, each expertly prepared with local ingredients. The plating was phenomenal. If you are in Amsterdam, this is a must!

This place is a gem, and one that I think deserves a Michelin Star! So first of all, the chef is super young. He's 25 years old, and his father is actually a server there! Also this place used to be a home, turned into a restaurant! The decor is fancy, and they have beautiful silverware and plates. It looks nice and homey at the same time. The amuse bouche dishes were amazing and full of flavor. They set the bar real high with them. The beef tartare with caviar was amazing. Also set my expectations real high because of it. It is so flavorful, and one of the best beef tartares I've had! The vegetable dish next was also amazing. One of the most flavorful vegetable dishes I've had. I wish all veggie dishes tasted like this, because I would totally eat it every single day! Next was the sole with mushrooms. Very good and flavorful, and I love sole. There were a few other dishes that were alright. The dessert was also really solid. Overall a really good dinner. I do think that the service really slowed down though in the latter half, which I think was because it started getting busy. I think that if they hired more staff (maybe 1 or 2 more), the experience would be a little better. (It took over 3 hours for a 5 course meal).

So, I'm not a stranger to this restaurant. Found this place about 5-6 yrs ago and was and still is star struck! I LOVE this place! It is unique with its ambience and personal touches are everywhere. I especially love this place is bc it's consistent! the price point and the quality of food they served deserve to be in the Michelin star tier yet affordable. Harry, Jim and the young chef plus the crew really puts out the welcome mat to diners with unique and flavorful dishes. The 400 yrs old building with its history really adds more experience to the dinning here at the de Silveren. I love the 8-9 courses meals. You really have to check out the details and attentions of each courses. Each time I am here I feel like the dinning experience elevated even higher. It is truly a awesome place to be! Thank you to Jim and the crew

If you desire exquisite food and a five star meal this restaurant is not to be missed! The best meal you will have this year, and one of the most memorable and amazing meals of my life. We had the eight course meal with wine pairings and it was incredible! Every course a new surprise and delicacy! The chef is immensely talented and the wine was thoughtfully selected to accent the incredible food! Each physical plate is also thoughtful and selected to provide a wow factor hard to describe. To top it off the service is kind, friendly, warm and inviting. Do not miss your chance to dine at this exceptional restaurant fit for royalty! If you love food, and creativity this is the place for you!

If you are sharing a meal with someone, get items from a different prix-fixe menu and you can both try a variety of items. We enjoyed: * Charcuterie plate: sausages taste minimally processed and delicious * Beef and onion stew: taste slightly different than ones in America * Cauliflower and cheese oven bake: vegetarian's comfort food * Hutspot (mashed potatoes and carrots) and meatballs: non-vegetarian's comfort food * Pea soup with smoked ham For desserts, we had chocolate mousse and vlaflip (vanilla custard) and they were just okay. I'm not sure if desserts are the Dutch's strengths, except maybe the Dutch apple pie. They even bottle their own house beer. The restaurant is small. Try to make a reservation if you can. We didn't have a reservation, but went to the restaurant at around 5PM and were seated in about 15 minutes. At times, the line could get very long, but the staff is still welcoming and ensures that everyone gets served...eventually.

We ordered Menu 3 (pictured) which was excellent for comfort food: --Trio of Dutch sausages, bread, Amsterdam pickles, and mustard --Hachee served with red cabbage and mashed potatoes --Chocolate duo with advocaat (chocolate mousse and ice cream) To get the reservation, we had to wait at our computer on the day the reservations open, then book immediately. It was hard reservation to get, but very much worth it.

Located on the Rozengracht, it's super central and easy to get to from just about anywhere in the Jordaan or the Center. * The Atmosphere: It's dark, moody, and has a very cool "late-night" energy. Even if you aren't sure what it is from the street, the vibe inside is unmistakable. * The Food: If you like meat, this is your spot. The burgers are massive and juicy, and the ribs literally fall off the bone. * The Vibe: It's a bit louder and more energetic than a standard restaurant, making it perfect for a night out with a group or a casual date with great cocktails. It gets incredibly busy, so even though it feels like a "hidden" spot from the outside, you'll definitely want to book a table ahead of time. Overall: A total neighborhood win. We entered and seated ourselves, and within 5 minutes, a staff person greeted us, brought us a flask of tap water (tastes great and clean) and two glasses, and gave us menus. We ordered a short rib sandwich for him and a chicken Caesar sandwich for me. These come à la carte but you can add sides if you want. I was glad we didn't because the portion was generous. One thing I've noticed here is that the bread is always high quality--our sandwiches came in baguettes about 8 inches long --I had to cut mine in half to eat it lol. Both were savory and flavorful and satisfying. The meat was tender and well seasoned. We savored every bite! They both had crispy bacon in them as well. Very filling! Just what we needed to energize us after our morning at Keukenhof!

The staircase leading down is very steep, and I'm not sure if there's an elevator. That said, this is pretty common in Amsterdam's historic buildings and didn't take away from the overall experience.
