That said, I LOVE THE SPINACH RAVIOLIS FROM DE VINCI! They are so freakin good! Get that with some Focaccia Bread and your in carb heaven! They even catered an event at my kids' school. Stick with the ravioli, tortellini alfredo, and green beans (seriously, they're bathing in butter and bacon, absolutely delish) - YUMMO! as Rachael would say. Because of gluten allergy I only eat stuffed pasta and that only occasionally (you see, these are so good, I cheat on them!), however my friends and family like the spaghetti too, and it does look good. Ditto for the focaccia bread. The pesto/alfredo fettuccine and chicken is not good; don't bother. Be warned, if you tried to "hold" the tortelini for longer than it takes to pick it up, bring it home, and put it on the table for dinner, the tortelini absorbs the alfredo sauce and the whole thing becomes an Elmer's gluey and surprisingly flavorless mess. This might have something to do with why the fettuccine alfredo is not so great too. Be warned that some items, like the tortelini for example, are only available on certain days of the week. However, the ravs are on the menu every day. De Vinci's will take pre-orders for your parties too and the bulk pricing is very good... a great way to go if you're looking for good buffet food for your gathering. Ownership does seem to have changed hands a few times over the past few years, and both the ownership and the food quality is not consistent across locations, so caveat emptor. Recently, I had some really disappointing ravioli from the previously excellent Manteca location, for example. I was debating between 2 & 3 stars, but the workers were friendly and place was clean, so I was nice. Could this place be so highly reviewed due to the large portions? I got the $4.99 lunch special, which included bread, salad, alfredo noodles with parm. - The bread was awful...i ordered butter on the side, but even the actual bread felt hard and greasy. - The alfredo gets 0 stars from me. ZERO taste....I know they're bad for you with all that oil, so if I'm going to gain weight, at least make them tasty. - The salad. The only good thing. Crispy ice-berg lettuce with homemade dressing, garbanzo and kidney beans. A+ Again, 2/3 of the meal wasn't appealing, but for $4.99 I got a meal that could have EASILY fed 3 people big portions. -Summary: Overall, I was dissappointed with their customer service and chicken. If their was an option to give 2.5 stars, that would've been my verdict. -Customer Service: I feel that as a customer; if you are not sure about the menu, it is helpful when an employee offers their assistance. This was not the case. One person in particular was very dismissive and unhelpful. I had simply asked the difference between their two choices of pesto pasta and this employee looked at me like i shouldve known. I apologize that i didnt, as the pasta was covered in sauce where i could not see the pasta. Also, if they are particular about what types a chicken you can receive from one of their options menu, it is good to make that stated on the menu. -Food Quality: As far is the food is concerned, their tortellini pasta was good and their bread was delicious. Ordered a lasagna tray from this restaurant. First time trying them out. The lasagna was so watery it had no taste. The cheese was soggy and watery too. It was aweful. My daughter loves this place, so I end up here from time to time. I think it is pretty good, too. I do recommend the ravioli and the focaccia bread, as it appears many others do, as well. One peeve: the last two times I went (both times about 7 pm,) it seemed like they mis-planned and/or anticipated closing too early. The first of these two times, they were out of raviolis--had to wait for more to come out. Honestly, the wait was very short, and I would/should have forgotten about it except that the second time, they were out of focaccia bread--had to wait over 5 minutes for it, and, more importantly, when it came, it was not as good as usual, seemed flat. This place use to be a family favorite, but lately they have gotten real skimpy on the food. I order a pasta meal #7 spaghetti and the two girls working literally gave me 2 bites of spaghetti!! I told them what is that they said if you want more order a #1 which was an additional 2 bites. Like seriously why are the being so skimpy if there is room in the measured container. I've been going to De Vinci's on and off for years. The ravioli there used to be part of my ritual before going to the football games in high school. I think they've changed their recipe a little over the years, and their ravioli just isn't as good as it used to be. Every time I go here, I order what they're famous for: the ravioli in red sauce with buttered focaccia bread and salad. The ravioli, I believe, are made of beef and spinach. They used to be little plump explosions of flavor, but these days they aren't as tasty. The sauce tastes strongly of herb and is made at a perfect, light consistency. The focaccia bread is really good. Not always fresh, but with the butter and sauce to dip in, very tasty. Unlike the focaccia served at many other places, the one here isn't terribly salty. Service is usually quick and friendly. When you take into consideration the quantity which they produce this stuff, it's really good, but I think it's gotten worse over the years. Overall, De Vinci's is a place I know I could get a decent meal from in a pinch, but these days, I wouldn't go out of my way to go back unless invited. read more

It gross' me out to think that they might not wash their hands before preparing my food... but, I like coming here because it's close to work ... There are often times where i get cold raviolis and the service is slow or they are not prepared. The salad is to die for, with either thousand island or italian dressing. I've always been in love with the Raviolis since I first tried them in 2005. I always imagined someone's little old grandma in the back making them, because they were so delicious and moist and tasted homemade. Hands down the best raviolis I've ever experienced. Just went in to get food, and was met by the RUDEST girl behind the counter. She repeatedly made comments with very rude and sarcastic undertones. Argued with me and my fiancée, and, worst of all, scratched her butt with her gloves on and then went back to preparing food! Eww! This girl started making our food on a plate and we asked for to go and she proceeded to roll her eyes and say "I asked and you said for here." (Which we did not). Then, she asked about butter for bread and my fiancée answered "yes" and this girl snaps back with "that was for him"... I have come here for years. My mom was born and raised in Stockton. If you know anything about the city, once a restaurant is loved, is usually stay forever. This is one of them. I usually do the 1 quart of ravioli, a 1/2 loaf of ficassia bread and a small salad. They've raised their prices a buck or two, but it's really worth it. De Vinci's catered my daughter's college graduation party this past weekend. They were prompt and fully set up and delivered the food for my event. In addition they were very flexible and patient despite my many changes in my order and lots of questions. We planned way in advance of the party and were not initially sure how many people we needed to feed. My guests raved about the delicious chicken dinners and there was plenty of food for all! The portions were quite generous which even gave us some leftovers. It was a nice surprise and I would recommend De Vinci's for any group event or function. read more

I love their ravioli! We always order the combination which includes a GIANT serving of your choice of pasta (we almost always get the ravioli), a side of pasta (ranch dressing is great!) and your choice of genova rolll or foccacia bread. My hubby and i always order just one meal and tell the server that we're sharing. They ususally hook it up a lot when we tell them that!!! And, we're always full and satisfied afterwards! I looked forward to eat at this location because I have had food togo from here; no da vinci I have gone to except getting food from this location comes close to delucchi. The rest of the da vincis suck. The chicken is made the best of all the da vinci franchises here and the ravioli although way off is better than the other da vincis. Tuesday chicken tacos are probably good when picked up fresh but the latest ones I have had are dry, tough and low on taste. Go next door or search for the artery clogging american style tacos from jimboys instead. One of the biggest turnoffs is seeing the pasta taking on a brown hue from sitting in the warmers for so long. Perhaps I should visited Fats instead. I went to L&L in the next building. I got off work at 7:30 last night and went to get my kids some raviolis at this Pershing location. I was nicely greeted by the young girl behind the counter who asked for my order. I asked for 1 quart of raviolis. While she was scooping it in the container another young girl was cleaning the glass shelf above the food (where they normally put the focaccia bread). She used a spray bottle to spray chemical on the class and then proceeded to clean. While she sprayed she had no concern for the spray or stuff that went into the open food beneath the shelf. This wasn't just one spray either this was multiple times. I asked if she realized that spraying directly on the shelf was actually getting chemical in the food. She said, "That's why I do it like this" and she sprayed the exact same way and I said, "yep see it got on my food." I told her both of them that now I wasn't interested in buying the food with chemical on them it could make people sick. They said "well good" and I left and went next door to Carolina's. I hope that the manager/owner finds realizes soon that his employees are careless and rude and will ruin a business or harm people with their food. I almost fed my kids this contaminated food. Shame on those girls! What else could they be careless about working around the food their. I am considering reporting then to the dept of health...researching it more now. read more

Being born and raised in stockton this has always been the familia place to go for the Ravioli's and everything else. This is always a tradition each year in my household. But last year I got to use them for catering at my work. I have to say that i was impressed, the lady who assisted me was awesome she told me how much for the number of people that we had, assisted me in referring what sauces woudl go well with that, and followed up a week prior to verify head count. Also the staff was on time with the food, it was fresh and ready for our shifts. We run three shifts. They could deliver to the two but brought out the food for our third shift along side but it was still very good. I had used them for my wedding back in 2003 and i will say that the food the service and the cost have not changed nor has the quality of the food. I will use them time and time again. Hands down. This place has some pretty good ravioli most of the time and some damn good foccacia. The one thing that is always good though is the salad. I don't know what it is but it is just great. On the 3 occasions we stopped in the ravioli's were so soggy they were falling apart as if they sat out a long time. One time they brought some out "fresh" but we thought they may have been overcooking in the back. Personally the taste remind me of chef boyardee. We recently purchased food vouchers through a school fundraiser for a dinner of pasta, salad and bread. On the day we decided to use them we called the restaurant to place our orders for pickup and were told we could not order over the phone and had to come in. No big deal. However, upon our arrival, two of the items we wanted to order were not available. On top of this, to say the customer service was a bit lacking would be an understatement. It wasn't a huge deal however it was a bit of a disappointment. Once we got home we realized they had not given us the bread for our meals. The best thing on earth.... RAVIOLI from De Vinci's! I can't describe how good it is... whether is it filled with meat or spinach... its AMAZING! And their bread is also yummy and delish as well. And no mater how simple their salad is (which is salad mix and marinated beans) I could eat that for days!. The combination of all three can put you in carb heaven!
