First: Competitors I got several estimates - My home warranty's contractor, Home Depot/ARS, a friend's husband, and Richmond's Air. Richmond's Air was the most reasonable price among all estimates, even the friend! He also took less than 30 minutes to take a look and give me an estimate. Home Depot was here for hours and gave me a presentation and ultimately an unbelievably high price which they later slashed by $4k when I said I wouldn't choose them. Still too high, also weird that they were gonna charge $4k extra? Second: Communication/Punctuality James told me a reasonable window of time that the team would arrive and also when they'd complete the job. They gave me a call beforehand to let me know they were running a little late, regardless the job was done on time (same day). They replaced everything but my furnace. Finally: Service The team was friendly and explained anything I asked about and even helped me install my new thermostat. They put a drop cloth down from the front door to the AC and left minimal dust or mess. They also gave me the manuals for the equipment as well as told me about the 10 year warranty. This was all a month ago and my AC has been working perfectly since and air quality reads way cleaner than when I moved in. Dealing with a broken AC in Houston is horrible and I highly recommend reaching out to Richmond's Air instead of wasting time shopping for multiple other quotes. Maybe get one other one and compare, you'll see the difference. Price, service, and quality were great. Would definitely call again for my next home.

Extremely disappointed with Aire Serv. I called them out for an A/C not cooling. They charged a $70…read moreservice call, which was communicated and I was fine with. What they don't tell you upfront is that the $70 gets you absolutely nothing of value. The technician came out, looked at the unit, confirmed it wasn't cooling (which I obviously already knew), and said it might be a leak. That'll be another $170 for a leak test, and then they'll come back again to give you a quote on repairs. So your $70 "service call" is just to have someone show up and state the obvious, with no diagnostics, no real troubleshooting -- just an upsell. Now you're at $240 before they've done anything to actually fix the problem. They are very deceptive and i would never call them out again and strongly suggest others stay away. There are honest HVAC companies out there, this is not one of them. You are left with the feeling that you just got scammed. Very dishonest company.

Get story in perspective: Sister-in-law is care giver for husband. Home was designed by him 45 years ago. Like us things fail , like our home furnace's. He said you really need to fix the furnace. The gas company had already turned off the gas to the unit in fear of a serious problem resulting. He wasn't allowed to turn it back on and said she had to have another furnace. We got wind of the entire situation here in Tulsa. OK, and reached out to Smart Air management. I was instructed to contact their individual in the field. After explaining who I was, he was very very helpful in working with me in getting a new furnace ordered and installed TODAY! Young mans name is Pete! I'll be forever appreciative of his professionalism. He handling all my calls and did exactly what was needed. Less than 24 hours after contacting Smart Air, they installed the furnace complete. "The triangle is a maxim that high-quality goods or services delivered quickly and efficiently to customers will always come at a higher price and vice versa." That is the cold, hard definition of the unattainable triangle. H-Town AC repair Air Conditioning and Heating seem to have attained the unattainable triangle. I wish I could type that in a bold font here. It is fall and time for our semi-annual furnace inspection from Absolute Comfort Air whom we had an annual service contract with. The technician arrived on time, began to inspect our furnace, shortly came down with the bad news. We had a unrepairable leaking gas valve, scorch marks on the control board, it was so bad he could not even run and test the unit. After all, the unit was 24 years old, parts would be hard to get but they could repair it for $1800 or replace it with a new high efficiency basic furnace for $4800. He even said that we were lucky not to have had a house fire scaring the begeezus out of my wife. I quickly went and yelp and got 4 bids from highly rated companies on Yelp. We almost instantaneously had 4 bids, three of which were significantly lower that the bid we had from the supposedly reputable Absolute Comfort Air. Enter, the heroes of the story, H-Town AC repair. They were the low bid literally saving us thousands (yes, thousands - plural) of our hard earned dollars on this project. This is part one of the unattainable triangle. They could arrive quickly and perform the work about 3-4 hours. As my wife runs a sensitive business from home this was very important. Part two of the triangle. Since we cannot have all three sides we were going to be doomed to a poor product, or so I thought. They arrived a bit late, however it was a cold rainy morning, traffic had been terrible. The technicians Elijah and another were well presented and professional. They laid down carpet covering, worked quickly and efficiently. Their first report was a shocker. Yes the unit was 24 years old, but there were no scorch marks on the control board and the gas valve was not leaking. The furnace ran fine and safely and apart from some rust on the heat exchanger should last us awhile. Elijah even showed us pictures of the suspect parts proving it. With the rust on the HE and the unit being aged we decided to replace it. Elijah and his team finished the job on time, doing some extra unit and site clean-up, on budget and voila, check mark on the third part of the unattainable triangle. In direct contrast to Absolute Comfort Air whom seem to lie to their customers and charge exorbitant amounts for their work, H-Town AC Repair is a fantastic, well run company whom I would highly recommend and will use again. I am cancelling my annual service contract with the other company and will be quickly running to Demitry, Andrew P, Mark, Elijah and the H-Town AC Repair team for a new annual service contract and all of my future HVAC work.
