On the hottest day in recorded Houston history, I woke up to my AC not working. My place was 80 F and rapidly climbing before I had been up an hour. To top it off, it was a Sunday. I frantically searched online for any service technicians nearby who could come at the drop of a hat on a Sunday. Jason not only came and replaced the capacitor while I was at a previous engagement planned that day, but he left his son's birthday party to make sure I had it fixed as soon as possible. I told him he didn't have to but he insisted on doing it anyway. It was so hot that day (109 F), it took until midnight for the place to cool down again. I don't even want to think about what it could have been like for us if Jason hadn't helped. What a great company! Very reasonable price as well. read more

Total crooks. I thought they were honest but unfortunately I found out the hard way that they are not. I purchased a unit and they installed it and have had nothing but problems. I was also supposed to have a warranty which I have now found out I do not because they did not register it. They do not stand behind their work. Horrible experience. Should be illegal for people to take advantage of other people like this. Unfortunately I can't leave a review without adding a star but consider it a negative star reading. read more

We had an excellent experience with Jack at AC Repair Houston. Our main A/C unit went out over the weekend (of course) and Jack came by on Sunday morning as promised without charging us a call-out fee. He explained our options and given the old age and condition of our unit, we opted to buy a new one. At no time did he ever pressure us or try to make the situation sound more dire than it was. Within 24 hours, the new A/C unit was installed and working great. He sent us an invoice afterwards by email and we paid by PayPal using our credit card. It could not have been any easier. This is a review of Jack Jensen d.b.a. Sierra Services listed as AC Repair Houston on Yelp (TACLA13221E). My A/C blower fan failed. Two service men came quickly and confirmed this was the problem. They indicated that a name-brand blower motor (Trane) would be expensive, $650, but that they could find a generic Genteq motor for about $100 cheaper. I agreed to go with the generic. After installation I was told that the price for the generic was the same. Next the service man promised to install an inline fuse for free to protect the blower motor from power spikes in the future (the motor went out during a power outage). When he tried to install the fuse he found it had the wrong connection. He then promised that he would get the right part and bring it by so that I could install it myself. That was over one month ago. The workmanship was excellent; however, I'm "old school" in that I believe a person's or business' word is sacrosanct. Once I'm lied to or a promise is broken, I will not do business with that person again. That happened twice in this case, and, therefore, I cannot recommend anyone use this business. read more

Jack, who runs and works this business, is good. He's fast and won't charge you an arm and a leg. Some places might want to replace the whole unit but he'll replace the faulty part which will save you hundreds or even a couple of thousand bucks. He's a real personable guy and actually uses his iPhone as his secretary. The invoice was sent from his iPhone to my email account. I was able to use PayPal which was quick and painless. He also accepts credit cards and checks. So yeah, I would definitely call Jack from here on out for any AC problems at my condo. read more

Jason came out and replaced the evaporator coil on my unit. Another company had just replaced the evaporator coil last summer and obviously did a terrible job installing it - it was leaking lots of oil. Some people want to leave things unfinished so they can come back and charge you twice for the same job, but these guys get it done right the first time so they don't have to ever come back. Jason did this on a Saturday morning and was finished by noon. Good family business, highly recommend these guys. read more

Jack is a straight-shooter. He was the third company I contacted about replacing the evaporator coils for both of our AC units. Our usual company flaked on us and refused to do the work they'd agreed to do unless we had structural changes made in the attic. I was getting desperate when I talked to Jack. He came by the same day to take a look and told me it wouldn't be a problem. His bid was $3k lower than our other quote. He sent his best guys a couple days later and fixed us up. AC went out in the middle of the night in August. I call AC Repair Houston on a Sunday morning at 8 am. Jason, the technician, arrives within 3 hours. He calls me on the way over and asks me what happened. I explained the issue on the phone and he immediately thinks he knows the solution. Jason says he will stop by a gas station on his way and pick up a fuse as he thinks that's the issue. Upon arrival, he has the AC up and running within 10 minutes. Couldn't ask for better service. Jack came out on the weekend when my outside unit stopped functioning. He quickly and efficiently determined that the motor was busted and replaced it with a new one. He checked all the other components to make sure we actually needed a new motor and not a simpler fix. He was very friendly and professional and didn't try to sell us something we didn't need. Very happy with my new air conditioning system. The crew was here a little ahead of time. All worked in a prompt and professional manner. Care was taken to protect the area where workers would be installing the air handler. All areas were cleaned up after work completed. Cost was fair and more reasonable than most other quotes I had gotten (all but one). Jack has been our AC guy for five years and we can't imagine trying to survive a summer in Houston without him! My husband likes to keep the house rather cold year round so our AC units get a lot of use. Jack not only keeps them running smoothly, but when we do have an issue he responds right away. We have never felt overcharged and we don't have to wait for days for him to come out to the house-it's usually within 12 hours of my initial panicky text that he arrives. I read the review below about the Allied Home Warranty AC repair through NRG Home Services and I can tell you I got the same exact story from them. By the time the serviceman walked out, I was $300 poorer and he claimed I needed an $8000 complete replacement of my AC system. I read the reviews on Jack here and gave him a call. He came out the following morning and diagnosed my problem as a condensor failure. Rather than replacing the core, he suggested I purchase a new "Goodman" unit with a 10 year warranty for $2700. Contrary to what NRG said, all I needed was the condensor and not a complete AC/Furnace. He even suggested how I could balance my air between rooms by rerouting the air vents, then he came out with two helpers and did all the work for less than $300. Don't fall for the "you must replace everything" sales pitch. Call Jack and he will fix it and save you money! read more

One year later I had a another company check it when it stopped working and he stated the same problem except after he replace the parts we did not have any further problems. I have use this last company Moreland A/C since. No complaints. read more

Like previous posts, I have a warranty company that uses NRG services. Our A/C went out on a Sunday night as a tropical storm was approaching. Was told it would be $120 for emergency services and that it would be 48hrs before anyone could come out...and they wouldn't work in the rain. Surely thought we were going to sweat it out all week but found these reviews and called Jack- best decision I made.
