The absolute worst experience in my Life. First the wait for a grilled cheese sandwich and fries over 40 minutes and the bar had only three tables .. Second the owner I think her name is Shelia is apparently racists bitch she screamed at a 3-year-old black autistic child and humiliated the mother and told them to leave. I would outside to check on the m other and child who were both crying and the owner was nasty when she brought them their food. I was crying when I left and crying when I got home. NEVER again. My husband and I really wanted some beer and wings last Saturday, not at a chain restaurant, but at a homey little bar somewhere. But we still haven't lived in Lakeland long enough to find a place like that. A bunch of people had told me that Decisions, a small bar not too far from where we live, had awesome wings, so we decided to go check it out. Decisions is what I would best describe as a family bar. They've been in business for 27 years, serve beer and wine, and have lots of tv screens for sports. There is a long bar to sit at with a few tables in the first room, then a second room with a pool table and more tables (and more tv screens). It was quiet when we got there, but after a while, a multi-generational family showed up. I thought that was cool. The bartender/owner waited on us and I believed there was one more person working in the kitchen. They had a handful of beers on tap, but it was a decent selection, so hubby had a Yuengling and I had an Avalanche Amber with an order of jalapeño poppers while we waited for our wings. (BTW, they have a freezer by the taps that only holds glasses/mugs for the beer, so all glasses are nice and icy! YUM!) The jalapeño poppers were good. Now the wings? Cooked fresh to order, so they warn you there is a wait time. No worries! They are super customizable - mix & match. I love that. Naked or breaded. Tons of different kinds of dry rubs. Many different sauces. We chose naked wings, Cajun dry rub, and a combo garlic/hot sauce. When they arrived, we were impressed. Cooked perfectly, crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. The dry rub was tasty, the sauce was excellent. I really cannot wait to go back and try a different combo. We ordered 20 wings and between those, the poppers and 2 beers each, we were pretty full but enjoyed every bite. Good wings. We split 10, 5: sweet chili garlic and 5: extra hot. We asked for them to be 2x fried. They were quite tasty (maybe I'd ask for double sauced). I'd definitely go back. We ordered recently for the first time for carry out. We'd heard great things and thought we'd give it a shot. The gal that took the order was super friendly and said it'd be ready in about 20-25 minutes for pick up. Perfect! Except.... it wasn't. My husband showed up in 25 minutes and they hadn't even started it. Bummer. So, he had to wait. In what he described as a dark, dingy, loud bar. We sort of figured that's how it'd be inside, which is why we chose to pick up, as it's not really our thing. We don't fault them for that. Hey, bars sometimes have the best food! So he waited..... and waited... and waited... and finally it was done! They handed over the bagged up food and sent him on his way. Here's the verdict: Italian sausage sandwich with chips: Amazing sandwich!! So good!! But they forgot to give us the chips. Grilled chicken sandwich and chips: very tasty and large!! Great sandwich! But they forgot the chips. Again. Cheeseburger and chips: Excellent burger! But guess what!! No chips! We also did get an order of bacon cheese fries which were apparently fantastic as an order of fries pickles; they were fine. They were spears, which I'm a sucker for, but the batter slides right off of them. Kind of a bummer that they forgot parts of our order. We decided on this place for date night based on my boyfriend's recommendation (he's been here before). This place is definitely one of those hole in the walls. There's a pool table, dim lit bar, and 2 other dining areas. We decided to sit at the bar. My boyfriend had a Mich. Ultra (bottle) and then we placed an order for their special which was 25 pc wing + a picture of beer ($1 upcharge because pitcher of choose was Mich. Ultra). We ordered half garlic Parmesan and half garlic Cajun (recommended by the bartender) and a large order of curly fries. The wing and beer special was about $33. I felt like the wings could have been seasoned more. We order them naked. I thought the garlic parm was a dry rub until I saw a pool of butter at the bottom. The garlic Cajun was also a dry rub and I felt like it could've used an extra sprinkle of seasoning. Since I previously lived in New Orleans, these Cajun wings didn't really match what I had in mind but at least it wasn't overly salty. My boyfriend made a statement that he remembers the wings being a little more crispier. I agree with him as some pieces of wings felt a little more soggy while the smaller pieces were a bit over cooked. The curly fries were seasoned curly fries and just what you expect. Overall, we spent about $45 total (before tip) and our food took about 20 minutes to come out, which wasn't too bad but I don't think they had any orders before us (maybe 1 or 2). I went to decisions grill and bar because I am having a hard time finding good wings in Lakeland. I went in and I love hold in the wall bars. I was the only one there and got some time to talk to the bartender. He was so friendly. He had been there for many years and knows everyone. I ordered the wings, fried hard, and fries. The wings came out perfect. The flavor and heat were fantastic. The fries were nice and hot too. It is definitely a place to go if you like wings! I will definitely be back. read more

Been several times and love the food. Ive had the wongs and Chicago dog. Im stuck on those. After looking at the menu today i need to branch out. Though the chicago dog is absolutely amazing. Feels like I'm dowtown in the windy city. The relish peppers and the all beef frank hard to pass up. Not easy to find this far out of Chicago. There are plenty of tvs to catch a game with a pool table and dart board as well. Its beer and wine only but has a good selection of drafts and bottles. Highly reccomend checking this place out. Closed Monday's though but good eats and relaxed atmosphere. read more

I went based on a "great wings" recommendation and got the "lunch wings" (5 wings & fries under $7) Order them naked, breaded or double-breaded and there are several flavors including jerk, around the world spices and BBQ . They boast "never frozen". I chose naked BBQ, received 6 drummies in less than 15 minutes. While they tasted fine, they don't fall in my top 5 wing faves (including MJ's and 716). However, the speed on the cook, the bonus "wing", the smaller order and fabulous fries were all bonuses. Lunch bill was $10 plus tip, in/out under 35 minutes for a decent meal. A traditional dive bar of 3 rooms, pool darts, plywood floor, clean restrooms & tables, two friendly old codgers run the show. Two bag men type guys sat on benches outside drinking 11 am beers (one with all his belongings), so a little uncomfortable to enter. They change some of the Chicago décor by season (Bears, Sox, Cubs, Blackhawks). The menu was full of delicious options that may raise stars in the future. Heard raves about Italian beef, Italian homemade sausage & peppers, gyros, reuben, corn nuggets, burgers. They have a sign that wings take 20 minutes. Consistently good food, clean place, ok prices. 5/2018 update. The hot ham & cheese with shaved honey baked ham was wayyyy too salty for my tastes, with chips ($8). Been there three times while visiting Lakeland. Each time I got the Chicago Dog which is as good as any dog I got growing up on the south side of Chicago. Husband got wings that he said were very good. Another time he got the beef (sandwich) which was very authentically presented but way too salty - I tasted it too -it was too salty. They have a wine and beer license. Decor is like an old corner bar. They have outside seating on weather worn picnic tables with no umbrellas. Good Chicago sandwiches, etc. Beware our food took minimum of 20 minutes plus each time we went. Phone ahead or be prepared to wait. read more

The wings are outstanding. Plump, juicy and so crispy. Cajun garlic is flavorful and delicious. The Chicago dogs rival Mel's. Beer is nice and cold, and the server at the bar is friendly. Be prepared to wait... Depending on how busy they are, it could be a while. Either call ahead for takeout or plan on having a beer or two. My search is OVER.......I ordered mine teriyaki dry and extra crispy. They are possibly the very best wings I've ever had in my life and I'm no spring chicken. Thankfully, I only live a couple of miles from Decisions but I can assure you, they are definitely worth a drive! Moved here from Chicago several years ago and have missed the food ever since. I was driving to the local hardware store, when out of the corner of my eye I saw it. It was like a giant beacon of light for people from Chicago. Did I see this correctly?? It's large yellow and gives me hope. THE VIENNA BEEF sign on their storefront. After my hardware store run I pulled into the parking lot with a certain amount of doubt in my mind. After all, I've been in FL long enough to know how rare this sighting is and even more rare for it to be a true Chicago food joint. As I walked through the doors and bellied up to the bar and saw the Old Style sign, I knew I was in an authentic Chicago dive bar. I quickly found a menu on the bar and began to look for the almighty Italian Beef. Disappointment was beginning to take over when I didn't see it on the menu, but then I see the special board and there it is, the great Italian Beef sandwich written in neon pen glowing from the board. The owner/bartender was friendly and took the time to explain that they don't bother to put the Italian Beef on the menu because they were so tired of having to explain to non Chicagoians what this great sandwich is all about. They put it on the special board and those that know, know and those that don't will never understand. I completely get this because after years of asking places in FL if they had "Italian Beef" and being looked at like I had a third eye or something I had all but given up on my quest for a decent Beef in FL. I placed my order to go as I chatted with the owner/bartender about their establishment and how she couldn't believe how many people had seen their newer sign and come in because of the Vienna logo on the storefront. It just so happened I got to remissness with another patron sitting next to me, as he was from the Chicagoland area as well. He told me how he had seen the Vienna sign and came into the bar because of it as well. We chatted about home and how good Chicago food was next to impossible to find down here and we shared our local finds that passed the test. My order came out and I couldn't wait to get home to tear into it. My wife had her beef gone before I could even start on my combo beef and sausage. I took my first bite of their homemade sausage paired with the perfectly seasoned thin beef, surrounded by mozzarella and sweet peppers and I think I might have heard angels sing. I was home again. This is the real deal Chicago Beef and sausage!!! The sandwiches were excellent as well as the jumbo Chicago dogs. The only minor difference is the bread, but I can't really fault them for that because I've had this discussion with the owner of my other go to Chicago food place (Ikes Eat and Treats in Auburndale) and he has said how hard it is to get the proper roll down here. With all that being said, I would recommend this place to anybody who wants a taste of Chicago. I hear their other food is just as fresh and good as well, but I have a hard time ordering anything else other than my taste of home. I'm so very happy we found this place and the bonus is it's only a short distance from our home in SE Lakeland. P.S I don't mean to promote another establishment, but if you're looking for a great Chicago thin, cracker crust pizza you should check out J. Burns right up the street. I don't know the amount of business they get, so maybe it isn't an issue to them, but I believe if they want a good amount of business as a local restaurant and bar they should at least have the bar open until the said hour(and regular time for a bar and grille to close on the weekend) at twelve.
