The place is pretty good, but they treat their customers like sh*t. When it gets close to closing time (we started trying to place a to go order at 15 min til) or when they just don't want to take any more to go orders, they just take the phone off the hook. This, of course, leaves the potential customer to just keep calling back because you don't know if they're just busy or if they don't want to sell you food. Dee Willies: Look, I get it. Last minute orders when you're trying to close can be a pain, but you set your own hours. Either do your customers the courtesy of abiding by the hours you set, or change the hours. I still go there occasionally, but not nearly as much as I would they hadn't screwed me over a few times with this same issue. read more

I'm a returning customer of Dee Willie's BBQ, it would a very cold day in hell for me to return if the food was anything but excellent. I highly recommend the Sweet Potato Casserole and the Cream Corn my favorites. Our server is fantastic and very good natured. I gave her a ribbing as a joke and she just rolled with the punches. Bar-b-que was great! However, I'm deducting 4 stars for the fact that they charge a "service fee" to use a card. This is ridiculous and bogus. In today's world, very few people pay cash. Too charge 3.5% bogus fee is unacceptable. We've been searching for some great barbeque and thought we found it. Because of this "service fee", we will not be back. Visited O'Connor location and Zarzamora and liked O'Connor better. They had everything we ordered. Zarzamora was out of ribs.

It's a good thing that my I recieved a large ice tea with my meal because that was all I was offered. No one stopped to ask me how my food was I noticed others at adjacent tables being asked. I wasn't offered or asked if I needed more to drink or anything else. Now on an up side. I ordered a 3 meat plate. Brisket sausage and chicken with beans and mac and cheese. The meats were all very good. There's no question that the smoke house crew knows their job. The mac and cheese was pretty good, but the beans were a bit too salty for my taste. Just ate at the zarzamora location and it is the best bar b que I have had so far . That includes my own bar bar b que . Creamed corn and mac and cheese are a absolutely a must try . If you cant come by I just found out they are on door dash . I heard about this place on the news and was passing by today and decided to check this place out. I ordered the 1/3 lb brisket sandwich, potato salad and sweet tea. Pros: - The bun was buttered, toasted and held up well to the hearty amount of meat. - Thick cut slices of brisket (none of that chopped stuff). - Tea had perfect sweetness. - Service was great from the waitress to the cashier. Cons: - The brisket was bland. I found myself having to add salt to kick up the seasoning. - The brisket didn't have a noticeable smoke flavor or a visible smoke ring. It had a pot roast flavor. - The potato salad was ok at best. So in all, not a great eating experience but because of the great service I will give this place another chance. read more

I know I have five star reviews a lot but I want to highlight places I love first. Dee Willie's is hands down the best BBQ in Texas I have had so far. It just is and it is great because unlike all the snob restaurants in the Quarry this one isn't constantly out of food at noon. The inside of the place isn't super modern but the ribs practically melt off the bones. All the sides are homemade and are divine. BBQ is top-notch! Whomever made the decision to start adding pepper to the creamed corn and mac and cheese, is misguided.. when this location first opened these sides did not have pepper. Great BBQ!!! I have been here a few times, and they do not disappoint. Ribs always slide off of the bone, brisket is soft and delicious, chicken is always good. BBQ sauce goes very well with all the meats. You get a very good amount of food on your plate for the price. The sides are delicious as well. My son had the bbq brisket sandwich and I was surprised to hear him talk about how much he liked it. He rarely comments on quality of food. He already wants to go back. Kind of hidden away from the highway but worth the visit. Staff is always friendly. Tables are spread apart for distancing and all staff wears masks. I recommend you try it. Went to this location for some Brisket and a couple of sausage links to go. Got to the counter and saw menu and realized that this location is pretty pricey, $26lb for Brisket and $8 for a Sausage link. Anyway, went ahead and ordered a pound of brisket and two sausage links. When I got my order, it seemed light, so I opened up the sack. There were tow small packs. Opened first one and it was sliced brisket. I buy a lot of brisket and sausage from BBQ locations all over the city, so I kind of know how much is a pound, and this one looked light, but I didn't know for sure. I opened up the other package and inside was a bunch of sausage pieces. I said this is no way two links...maybe one small one. So, I showed it to the lady at the register and she said that their links are 'BUN LENGTH' sausage and not the typical hanging style links. I told her that you are charging $8 bucks for a piece of sausage that is maybe 6 inches long. She said that she has not control of pricing. I told her Dee must be insane and smoking more than meat. However, probably enjoying himself on his yacht. Got home and pulled out my Sunbeam Digital scale, put in a fresh battery. The Brisket weighed 13.5 ounces. Well short of a pound. And the cut up sausage weighed 10.5 ounces. Now I know that Dee Willie Yacht is anchored off a Greek island. The Brisket was good, but the sausage was tough as a boot as you could hardly bite through the casing. This place is really a consumer ripoff. read more

The BEST BBQ I've had in a very long time. The turkey is tender and moist, brisket is fall apart tender and tasty, ribs fell off the bone like meaty marshmallows and sausage was toothsome. Mac and cheese is creamy and decadent, sweet potato casserole was the best I've ever had. Banana pudding was the perfect end to it all and pecan cobbler was like sweet ambrosia from a southern angel. Nice atmosphere. The service was good but let's discuss the food, the reason we came on the first place. The ribs tasted good but were over cooked. The brisket tasted good but was chewy because it wasn't sliced correctly. The sausage , in my opinion, was just nasty! Now for the sides.... potato salad is just store bought, probably Sysco, the Mac and cheese taste like Kraft ( come on guys, it's not that hard to make good mac & cheese). The beans taste exactly like Ranch Style, which I like but could have stayed home and opened a can myself. I came in on a Friday around 6pm after working in the sun all day. I hadn't eaten anything so I was starving...well...fat boy starving...I was in the mood for bbq that day so I googled for bbq places near me. I stumbled upon DeeWillies and noticed the reviews seemed good. Plus it was very close to my house which was a big plus. I decided to call them just to make sure they weren't sold out of anything. The girl who picked up the phone was proffesional, however her tone was that of someone who just wasn't in the mood to be at work. She confirmed that they had plenty of everything so I hopped in my car and drove that direction. When I got there I was greeted at the door by another young lady. I am thinking it was the same girl I had spoke to on the phone, because it was the same "personality". Proffesional but unmotivated. Thats really my only gripe about the place. The staff seemed like they were all pretty frustrated with their day. I ordered the 2 meat plate. I got moist brisket and sausage, with mac n cheese and cream corn as my sides. The dish came with a slice of bread and a sweet tea. It came to $16.40. Actually I lied, I have two issues with the place....I think $16.40 was rather steep for the amount of food I got. Now, the reason for the 4 star review...DeeWillies saving grace....THAT FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING!!! The brisket was juicy and tender, seasoned well and just plain yummy. The sausage was just straight delicious. The cream corn was sweet but not too sweet, creamy and just the right consistency. The mac and cheese was thick and flavorful. The bbq sauce was outstanding! I am still craving it and definetly plan to be back. So aside from the lackluster greeting and the slightly overpriced menu, all in all I believe DeeWillies is a solid bbq spot!!! We've ordered from here on numerous occasions and have always been pleased with the food. It's nothing fancy, your typical BBQ joint. The 1st time during the height of the pandemic we placed an order for pickup and the chicken plate came with Mac n cheese and green beans...all of it was a huge hit! Chicken was moist n tender and the Mac n cheese so creamy and cheesy, one of the better ones I've had! The 2nd time we just picked up a quart of every side to bring to a party, again everything was on point, the only thing I wasn't impressed with were the pinto beans, I felt they lacked flavor. 3rd time was recently and 4 of us came in and placed orders....again all of the meats were on point, plentiful and all of the sides were great! They have a full bar next door, so you can also order drinks but you have to to thru the swing doors and get them yourself. The place is nothing fancy but it sure does have good food and the service was good as well! We will definitely be back again....especially for their Mac n cheese! read more

Flat out awesome BBQ judged by many years of tasting most of the TX top 50 BBQ places. Both lean & moist brisket portions were smoked to perfection. The bark, bite, and tender consistency was spot on with both cuts. My smoked Ribs at home have very few rivals, but as much as it humbles me, Dee's are better, which means likely the best baby back's available in terms of proper smoke, flavor and gentle bite from the rib. The regular sausage is on par with City Market in Luling and Louie Muellers in Taylor, and I believe it fits in line with the Yoakum area blend. In other words, real gosh durn good. The sides (creamed corn, beans, slaw & potato salad) are all very well prepared, but the baked potato salad is something special not found in the BBQ circuit. My 5 stars are based on the food and friendly folks that served the 3 times Ive been able to enjoy the past two months. If you're a TX BBQ fan, try it and you will understand great BBQ from all the good BBQ we are privileged to partake in. Tom R. read more

I called on 08/26 for a copy of my receipt from my favor order (which should've been provided with my order). My calls were repeatedly routed to voice mail and it took about 11 calls before someone answered. Spoke to an unnamed female who put me on hold for the manager. The call was 'disconnected' and all calls thereafter resulted in a busy signal. It was really close to closing time; I guess they did not want to deal with the issue. While I understand they might have been busy, there is no excuse for hanging up on a customer. All they had to do is take my information and call me back when things slowed down. Today (09/02) Favor refunded over $20 for overcharges on my order. Our order was incorrect, over-charged, and no itemized receipt to show what I paid for.
