We ran into a few unexpected issues during the project, but Young was always upfront about what was happening and communicated his solutions clearly. Jeremey came and did the test and right away, he was able to identify the leak. So we spent $2500 open up the concrete and replaced the skimmer. It took about 2 days. And he has someone else over to do the repair. Then he came back to retest it seems supposed was cleared. However, I noticed the water level dropped unusually fast so I know something is wrong and asked him to come check again. His policy was retest will be charged $150 instead of new test of $550. Anyway, he suspected another leaks on the return which will cost another $1000-2000 to open up to determine where the leaks were. I was concerned, because I didn't want to open up and turned out it may be somewhere else. He then did a dye test and was able to identify the leak and plugged it instead of open up and replace the leaks. Which worked and saved me $1500. Looking back, the original leak could be at the return. If he used dye test on all the return, we may have identify that leak and save a lot of money. Anyway, leak was fixed and he ended up didn't change me for the retest and plugging the leak. So that was nice.

I was surprised my call was answered & thrilled that Gerado said he would be in my area in an hour or so & could take a look. When he arrived he gave me a quote & said he could repair it now. Everything was in good repair & done at a very reasonable price. A week later late in the evening I noticed another section had begun showing some seeping at the popup heads & figured to check it in the morning. Next morning to my surprise I received a text from the water co that my smart meter had alerted them to a continuous flow. I went right to work & saw I had a valve problem. I thought I could handle the repair on my own following some you tube advice, I replaced the top of the valve body. Long story short I was unsuccessful & couldn't stop the ebb. I called Gerado who determined possibly because my original valve was over 16 years old there could be some minor variance to the molding process or I purchased a defective valve. We agreed to replace the entire valve assembly. Gerado who returned again on Sunday with a new valve installed the valve in short order. Immediately all was back to good working order. There were bare spots, as well as visible drip irrigation lines, and weeds sprouting up due to lack of mulch. I contacted two companies I had worked with before, but the cost was significantly more than expected, so I reached out to a couple of 4.8-5.0 star Yelp landscapers. One said they were out of state and no-serviced the request, but Maria of Sandoval Landscaping & Gardening got back to me the same evening that the bid request went out. She offered to meet me the next day to get an in-person look at the job and give me a quote. After looking at the backyard and seeing the mulch was actually pretty good there, I asked for her thoughts on only doing the front. Maria agreed the front definitely needed a new layer, but the back was in pretty good shape and didn't really need to be done right away or I could spot cover specific areas myself. The other two companies with higher prices quoted a new 1" layer, which seemed kind of thin - or at least would require another re-mulching sooner than what was ideal. But Maria and Armando said they'd apply 2-3", which seemed more in-line with what I was originally expecting in a re-mulch job. Even with that thicker coverage, their price was very reasonable, they could do the job the next day, and they'd also do a little bit of clearing of dead plant material as part of the job. Great! We agreed to move forward and she told me approximately when she and Armando would arrive the next day and roughly how long it would take. They showed up on time, got to work right away, and even did another mulch supply run when they realized the original load wouldn't be enough to cover the whole front yard. That impressed me - instead of just spreading out the original load thinner, they wanted to do the job to their high standards and just acquired more mulch. As you can see from the pics, they did a great job! Since I like to expose some of my more delicate tree trunk bases/root balls to the air (vs cover them in dirt or mulch), when I cleared the base area on those trees, I was able to see they did apply a nice thick layer all over the yard. This should last me at least a couple of years, maybe more. I couldn't be happier with the quality and value of their work. Both Maria and Armando are extremely friendly, flexible, and professional. Would love to use them on a future job when new landscaping is required.
