Mmmm, very good! My husband liked their beer. We thought the menu inventive for "up north". We started with the chorizo stuffed mushrooms with a saffron cream sauce - excellent. I had the tomato-spinach stuffed chicken breast on polenta cakes. Nice presentation, plenty to eat. I really liked the flavor of the polenta cakes - not boring at all like most places that serve polenta. My wife and I went to the Grill on a Monday for lunch. We waited 25 minutes for two sandwiches and soup. No water was offered just our original drinks. The only thing worse that the food was the service. read more

I go to Ashland every year for the Whistlestop Marathon/Half Marathon and Sat. night is reserved for dinner at the Deep Water Grille. For the past 4-5 years we have had a great experience. But this year was extremely disappointing. My husband ordered the meatloaf and it was dry and tasteless. I ordered the broiled shrimp - received 6 shrimp that were also dried out. The kicker was that it cost $24.99 for these 6 shrimp! If the shrimp were cooked correctly the price wouldn't have mattered. We will not be going to the Deep Water Grille for dinner when in Ashland again. Our waitress was great and the atmosphere is very nice. And I'm sure the beer is good too. The food is subpar, not as good as it has been in the past. Hopefully things will improve. read more

We have been there several times and enjoyed our experience This time was different. My BFF and I went for lunch and a few cocktails on 3.12.16. The service in the bar was terrible. There were two bartenders and neither one acted like they wanted to be there. After lunch, our food sat on our table for about 15 minutes and we had to ask twice for our bill. Our bloody Mary's were terrible and she brought out this tray of seasonings and said we could fix our own the way we liked it. We will think twice before going again. read more

I wrote this same review for the South Shore Brewery. I am adding it here as well. there are 3 different sections to dine at in this place. I am not exactly sure where I should post my review so again here it is... The food is alright. Not as many options as I was hoping. The staff is friendly but unprofessional. I pulled up to find a group of employees hanging out back smoking. Also a lot of swearing and drinking behind the bar. The staff (mostly males) seem to cater to the younger more attractive crowd. I watched as some of the staff took shots with younger girls. Something I would expect to see in a dive bar, but not so much in a place like this read more

Eat here regularly! I like the Alley side more, because you can get pizza. However, my all time favorite dish there is the Brew House burger. Its a burger with Lettuce, Tomato, Cheddar, Smoked Bacon, Onion Straws, Grilled Pineapple, Fried Egg, & Bay City Sauce. Sounds scary, but when you order the egg over easy, and you bite into it, it is heaven! Some times you get a grouchy server, or subpar service, but the burger is worth going back for! read more

My wife and I had never had whitefish that wasn't smoked, so we tried that for dinner. We also ordered the full rack of ribs and then shared. EVERYTHING tasted wonderful, including the pilaf, coleslaw, vegetable medley, wonderful "loaded" mashed potatoes, and even the dinner rolls. The great ambiance and courteous staff and remarkably low prices made for a grand experience. For myself, the beer lover, their nut brown ale is excellent as well.
