We stopped in last Thursday night around 9pm and had a delicious diner. I had the burger with cheese, crisp bacon and waffle fries and my wife had a very good shrimp diner. Staff was very nice and treated us well. The dining room was near empty but we were treated very nice and not rushed at all. The bar area was busier. They always have an excellent assortment of beers with one for everyone's tastes. We had not eaten out for nearly three weeks as we were on an island in the Apostle Islands as National Park volunteers. We have been here before and are never disappointed. When we get off the island in another several weeks we may be back! read more

My husband and I were in Ashland last Wednesday visiting their new patient-based clinIc. We found this place after entering 2 other establishments and winding our way through was a bit like being in an escape room. We high-fived when we were led to our table. I was impressed with the menu and my craving for fish was thee deciding factor! We came for the fish fry on Friday night. The restaurant was quite busy but we were able to be seated party of six right away. The baked white fish with the specialty mashed potatoes and cole slaw was great. Very good service and ambiance. Will be back next time in the area. read more

Beer is good. Food is ok. Service, while everyone was very nice, was terrible. Food took a long time. When we finally inquired about our appetizer- it arrived a minute later. Sadly then our food arrived. Obviously not ideal timing. Not sure what went wrong. The host has taken our order and not sure if she caused the issue. (Maybe forgot to put in the order?) Our server, Hannah (I believe) was SO nice (keep smiling! You were great!!) but was busy trying to fix all the mistakes/oversights happening throughout many tables. We mostly decided to try this because it was next door to our hotel & we didn't feel like driving any more. But it turned out to be a great choice! Excellent! We had the cajun seasoned whitefish, friends had beer battered whitefish, both meals were excellent. They have a broad variety of on-site brewed beers. Cost was reasonable, kid friendly, good place to eat in Ashland--and there are not a lot of places in town. read more

For a small town like Ashland, I'm glad they have a fine dining like this. I ordered Kebabs. We went there to celebrate my friends birthday and they provided him with a lava cake and vanilla ice cream. Staff is friendly. We went there on a Tuesday but still we need to wait around 35 minutes for our table. So suggest to make a reservation ahead.Will definitely eat here again if I get a chance to visit Ashland or Bayfield. read more

We stopped here out of desperation after a long day of driving and being in the middle of nowhere needed a place to eat. Parking at 8:30 on a Friday night was a nightmare, there was no clear indication where to park just where you can't. The restaurant was in a beautiful old building that looked like it was a bank in a previous life. Our waitress was friendly, kind and prompt. For being a mostly vegetarian celiac it's not always easy finding a place to eat, this place seemed to fit the bill. My husband and I got the fish special. His was breaded and mine was broiled. He commented that the breading was a bit much for the fish and tasted ok. My broiled fish had no seasoning whatsover and needed lots of lemon and a little salt to be palatable but was at least cooked well. My family came here for dinner, and I think we left very happy and very full. The waitress was very nice and treated us with nice smiles. We ordered the trout, salmon, the special (pork tenderloin), ribs, beer cheese soup, and soup of the day (clam chowder). The soups were both really good, but slightly on the salty side. The pork was very tender, and the cheese sauce tasted great. There were so many large pieces of gnocchi that I thought it was a bit overwhelming. Overall, the taste was good. The trout was very tender and flavorful. The ribs were saucy and tender and came with a LOT of barbecue sauce. I had the salmon. It was tender, but slightly dry. The mango chili sauce it came with was delicious. The broccolini was cooked well and crunchy/crisp. They let me switch out the sweet potato and black bean "mash" for dirty rice, and overall I thought the plate was flavorful. I also appreciated their accommodation of the slight change in my order. Finally, I thought all the portions were great. There was a good amount of sauce that accommodated the entree, definitely enough food to fill you up and take home for leftovers, and priced well. read more

The Banh Mi sandwich is excellent with great flavor and so was the special, a Prime rib fajita bowl with lots of great spices and flavors added to it. So I came back again and again, but nothing was as good as the first time. It just got worse. This last time I was served burnt food and was never checked on or asked how my food was. Eventually I pointed it out since it was so bad. Yuck! :( Why serve food that was so obviously burned. Maybe it's the off season but to be a great restaurant you've got to be consistent and put a bit more love in your food and care more about your customers. Decreased stars to 2 overall. This place was totally worth it, I got the Creole Whitefish and Shrimp, amazing! Flavors were awesome, shrimp and fish moist and full of fresh herbs and spices. My husband got the king cut Prime Rib special with a baked potato and veggies, he enjoyed his meal and just like mine lots of flavor. My little girl got the kids fried whitefish and fries, she ate it right up, and she is a fussy fish eater. Highly recommend! If we are ever in the area again, this is our choice. read more
