I can only speak to the cake I ordered. The cake was $7.50 which is a fair price for a good slice of cake. This piece was stale and hard. I came over over with a group of photography friends after our sunrise shoot over Deerfield Beach. The first plan was to go JB's on the beach but the didn't open until ten and it was nine. They kindly directed us over to Deerfield Beach Cafe and we ended up having a lovely breakfast. We were immediately greeted by the manager and requested to sit outside because the view is beautiful, you are right on the ocean with the pier to your left. They didn't have a table large enough to seat us all but they found us two tables next to each other which worked out perfectly. The waitress took our order and promptly served coffee which we enjoyed while we waited for our food. I had the brioche French toast with strawberries and blueberries and bacon. It was a large portion and I don't usually eat that much but I finished every bite. I guess I worked up an appetite walking all over the beach this morning. Also my breakfast was delicious. Other people in my group had omelettes and pancakes. While we wait the manager came over to make sure everything was fine and the waitress checked on us several times to see if we needed more coffee. On and in Deerfield beach, there isn't more than a few places you can grab brunch on the beach. The Deerfield Beach Cafe is one of the most convenient of them and great food too. I ride bike along A1A on the weekends and the people I ride with are always talking about where to eat after or grab a cup of coffee. Myself, i usually vote for here. They have quick service, the coffee is solid and I haven't had a bad plate yet. In fact I always ask for a basic made to order plate and they have made whatever asked without blinking. And did I not mention the view? By far what pushes this cafe to a fifth star is location. You just can't beat it. The best thing about this restaurant is the waterfront location! This is definitely the spot to come to if you are here in South Florida escaping the freezing cold winter. You will certainly feel like you are on vacation with the beautiful views this establishment offers. We popped in here around 2:00 PM, hubby and I were in a brunch mood since we skipped breakfast. We were very happy to see that the breakfast menu was still an option. I felt like the menu did have a good selection of choices. We had hoped to sit outside on the patio since it was a nice day, but those seats were all taken. We ended up in a booth, but we still had an outstanding view of the beautiful beach and ocean. It was a place where you can people watch too. We only ordered 2 waters and 2 brunch entrees. Our waitress was efficient, I would give her 5 out of 5 stars. No complaints on that end. Also, our food came out in a very reasonable time frame. Why the 4 stars? The food was just average, not AMAZING and not bad either. I had a waffle with fruit and a small scoop of ice cream (yogurt was the other choice), I would give it about 7.5 out of 10. What a nice little spot this is! Located on Deerfield beach, this place has a wonderful outside seating that lets you enjoy the best of the area... beach view, the pier, people watching and a relaxing atmosphere. Came here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Even though it was hot we still sat outside. It was a beautiful, blue sky, perfect beach weather day, with an occasional breeze. How could we not take advantage of that and enjoy it. Yes, it would be nicer if they had a covered outside but you can't always have everything. Our server, aware of the weather, brought us ice waters, and a pitcher for refill. He was quick taking our orders and bringing the food out, so we could enjoy a walk on the beach as soon as possible. The menu has a lot to offer, egg dishes, waffles, pancakes, burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, hummus, salads, steak, fish, and more. We figured the portions would be big (diner style) so we shared an Omelet. Glad we did. This was a 4-5 eggs omelet (Western) filled with ham, mushrooms, pepper and onions. We added cheese and instead of toast and potatoes we got tomato slices and avocado, and this was no issue at all. The dish, as I mentioned was huge and delicious! The tomatoes and avocado on the side where enough to share too and they did not charge extra. While we enjoyed our food, we had a great view of the beach, and felt like we were on vacation. Again, acknowledging the hot weather, the server offered ice cream to the kids to our party, his treat. How nice was that? Thanks to their quick service, we had time to spare and were able to take a stroll on the beach, before parking meters expire. The location was great, right on the water. It was beautiful to look at as we ate. We sat at the little eating bar inside since it was windy out, or we would have been outside. They weren't very willing to accommodate in terms of sitting where you'd like since there was quite a waitlist, but due to our flexibility in where we'd like to sit, we were directed to our table in 5-10 minutes. If you're looking for a view though, be sure to ask for it! There's probably about 4 tables inside where you cannot see the ocean. We were seated at one of those & we had visitors from the west so we asked to be moved to the eating bar where you can see the ocean. It was a little strange and awkward when you first walked in because there isn't a hostess desk, so you have to wait for her to see you and then she takes you outside where you give her your name. Our hostess was a little stressed and not very friendly So, that experience left a bad taste in our mouth. But the waitresses were great and friendly. We were all starving, and ready for brunch. We had the eggs Benedict, Triple Combo meal (eggs, bacon & pancake) and the Mahi Mahi Sandwich. The food was good. I ordered the Triple Combo and was encouraged to get the pancakes... they were SO good. Sweet and tasted amazing with butter and whip cream. My bacon and eggs were also delicious. The Mahi Mahi sandwich was excellently prepared, but there is a lot of bun so if you're watching the carbs I'd forget the bun! Our server seemed to be having a bad day or something of the sort. She was not friendly at all and was extremely rude when we asked to have the table umbrella adjusted. I went here for breakfast with a friend. What we loved what dining outside facing the ocean. What we didn't like was our server, Marvin. Not sure why he was in such a sour mood on a beautiful day but no matter what we did and how nice we said it, he was sour. We both asked for the breakfast special - though I didn't want potatoes so I asked for lettuce and tomato to go with my two eggs over easy. He told me they couldn't exchange the potatoes and but would charge me which I said was fine. I also had a side of fruit. My friend wanted bacon and potatoes. We also wanted coffee - so no matter what we did or said, we could not get him to be chipper. The coffee cups were small so we had to keep asking for more coffee. We had to ask for salt and pepper and straws. He couldn't wait to take the check but we wanted to gab. There hardly was anyone else outside - mind you. I'm giving it 3-starts because I really do like the breakfast here & the view, but our server Brad on this occasion was completely rude and frustrated ... we had not been sitting for more than 2-3mims. After eating here for 2 years I cannot believe that a cool place like this would have this type of service. I have food and gluten allergies, so I always have to ask a few questions about ingredients to make sure I can have that dish (honestly I mostly experience that people that dine with me ask more questions about the food ingredients then I do and they do not have allergies, asking what's in a dish is a daily scenario for all places that serve food). I asked Brad what was in a certain dish written on the specials board, and he was very frustrated and didn't know pretty much any of the ingredients that where in it, because it was an omelette he knew there was eggs in it and that was all he knew. Seeing his frustration I wanted to make the process simple and I at this point told Brad that I had gluten allergies and that's why I was asking him. They must have just hired Brad, the frustrated waiter because he was sure that everything in the place had gluten ... I told him that I've been eating here for 2yrs and everyone is always helpful w the ingredients I just needed to know what was in the dish as I needed to eat #glutenfree and then I can order. I asked if he was willing to work with me and if he could ask the kitchen what the ingredients were as every other person has done before when I've eaten here. Brad absolutely did not like this & was very rude to me and my mother and told me that he was sure that everything in the restaurant had gluten. He then decided to ask me if it was an eating preference or was it really "allergies", because "I had never gotten sick from eating there before" and everything in the place had gluten according to him!! I asked if I should leave and he said yes, he was sure everything in the restaurant had glutens. {which by the way it's completely not true, they have many wonderful salad's and fruit juices and omelettes that don't have a stitch of gluten in them} I found out one minute later that Brad didn't have a single clue what gluten was when Crystal arrived to help the situation as she noticed Brad behavior towards us. She had to tell him what gluten was. Unfortunately for me, I wanted to have an item one on the daily specials board versus on the menu where I could read every single ingredient and I didn't have to ask the server. WOW! I came here to bring my mom to have breakfast at my favorite local breakfast place and was so embarrassed by this craziness. I would have left if I did not want to make my mom more uncomfortable and if I did not believe In the character of the rest of the staff and management. I have never seen such a terrible attitude towards a client. Thank God for Crystal which saved the day with her sweetness and professionalism. I'm just perplexed how can this person work here being so unpleasant, unknowledgeable, ignorant, rude and looks like he'd rather be anywhere else but here. How does this cool beach local spot tolerate that??? Mind you i was not asking to alter anything nor eliminate, I simply wanted to know the ingredients to make sure if I could order or not. Even though places don't cater to allergies, there are all types of #allergies and restaurants should be in the least knowledgeable for people suffering from allergies, so they are able to order within their menu. I have never seen such a terrible human display of service in all my years dining and in the service industry. As I asked the manager for a different server {lovely Crystal} Brad follows me and proceeds to tell me "thanks for the compliment". {On top of it all this "person" whom is so incompetent with the knowledge of food, making a living in the food industry, also showed no respect for the people which help put food on his table} Makes me sad! The food is undeniably good breakfast/brunch fare in my opinion, so I cannot knock my favorite local spot and the manger on duty Megan is the real deal, the Cafe is lucky to have her. But Brad having a bad day, should not be a part of anyone else's bad breakfast experience {not a great way to start the day} and going by the comments from other employees to me as they where trying to smooth the situation out, this is Brad's usual vibe .... so, as for me, on my next visit, if I ever walk in and see Brad I will immediately turn around and walk out with everyone I'm with. Greek salad had the lowest quality ingredients possible. Feta cheese was terrible. Greens straight from a bag, not washed and full of rot. Chicken sandwich had small sliver of chicken breast. Think it was cooked last week. Kids burger was so gamey that my dog would have refused it. They probably serve this to kids thinking they won't know any better. Really? Absolutely nothing redeeming about this visit, aside from the waiter who was nice (and seemed to know how bad things really are). I've been coming here a few times every year for many years. A group of 8 came in an hour after our party of four. They received their food at the same time ad we did! When we finally got our food, it wad obvious it had sat in the kitchen for a significant amount of time. Eggs were cold. This place is very inconsistent. Between the Greek-owned diners of my old Queens neighborhood and then access to the Route 3 diners of NJ, well... it's hard to find anything comparable... BUT. Yes, that's a big but. I have found a suitable subsitute... on the beach. And going along with the signs of the times, a much healthier menu, with a friendly staff and great location. The choices are many, the food is fresh, the kitchen is open, AND there's a bar. All this while sitting either in a booth outside, or by the window looking out to the beach or the pier. What more can you ask for? The hardest thing about eating at the Deerfield Beach Cafe may be finding parking. There's a lot in front, but it is public, so on a busy beach day be prepared to drive around for a bit. Can't wait to go back! read more

My boyfriend felt the same about his bacon and cheese omelette. The home fries were awful - very mushy and bland tasting. I should have gotten the side of fruit instead. Also, the waiters do not show you your check unless you ask for it which I found to be very odd (they just show up to your table and tell you your total and ask for your credit card). I live literally across the street from the restaurants by the pier and for me, going to the Cafe is like going home for breakfast.. whether it is the yummy cookies that they make, a simple bagel, a lavish omelette (custom ordered), oatmeal... or even when meeting a friend for a cup of plain old fashioned coffee. My husband and I decided to do a random midweek beach day. We dropped our daughter off at school and headed right to Deerfield Beach. We love this beach because it is super clean and gorgeous, but it also tons of restaurants and shops. We got hungry around 11:30 and my husband wanted breakfast and I wanted lunch so we chose the Deerfield Beach Cafe. They have a pretty extensive menu. It is located right next to the pier and has both indoor and outside dining. We sat inside. I got a Bloody Mary to start. It was garnished with a huge piece of celery, olive, and a pickle spear right on top. The actual drink had the perfect amount of spice, tomato juice, and alcohol ratio. Cheers! I ordered the tuna melt. The actual bread must have been toasted with butter. It was so crispy and flavorful. The tuna salad was really yummy. My husband got the Floridian omelette. He raved and said it was the best omelette he has had in a long time. The pricing is pretty fair for oceanfront dining. It was the perfect place for both of us to get what we wanted, the service was good, great view, and awesome food. It's a win! read more

Wow, the service here is absolutely atrocious. Especially after a pandemic where they should be welcoming business. My husband and I tried to come in a few weeks ago for a coffee after we walked on the beach but they wouldn't let us sit outside because we didn't have masks to walk through the restaurant with. I understand that it's part of the new regulations but the attitude of the employees was unnecessary so we decided to go home without the coffee. Yesterday's visit was no exception. This time I brought my best friend who's in town visiting and just wanted a regular breakfast. We came prepared with masks. You literally wear the mask for the two feet it takes you to walk to your table and sit down. As I joked about how much that didn't make sense to one of the servers, we got a nasty attitude. We made sure she was waiting our table. After this little experience, I decided not to order food and just let my friend get her eggs Benedict, which she said was actually pretty good. I tried some of her home fries and they were pretty tasty but I just can't get over the poor service. Told me to get my name on a list - yet we were told at the front door to seat ourselves at any open table. I told her that and she told me I was wrong and to move cause someone else wanted the table. Another customer backed up my response about sitting at any open table and she scoffed at him and told us to leave. So rude I had other customers telling me I was right. She is awful.
