Went there two weeks ago for a full set. Paid $58 just to have them crumble and fall apart in a span of ten days. I wanted shorter nails and the tech insisted on making them longer. I was here tonight and the service was HORRIBLE. The techs were rude. One even got up halfway through doing my nails without saying anything!? The tech that sat down to finish tried to lie for her and say she wasn't feeling good. Ummm she was speaking good English the rest of the time and couldn't say that???? After I left I realized they left polish on the sides of my fingers and the finish is sloppy. Bumps and bubbles in the coat. I was desperate to get my nails done before the holiday rush. I had been going to this salon for a few years now. I liked getting my eyebrows done by Mi. Recently I went and I had been growing my eyebrows out for a long time so that they could be waxed evenly the next go around. Mi was on the phone the entire time from when I walked in to when she got done waxing my eyebrows. I tried to explain to her several times how I liked my eyebrows but she was too busy on the phone to listen to what I was saying. Ultimately she waxed my eyebrows too short and thin. This could have been prevented if she provided adequate customer service and actually cared to listen to what I was saying instead of being on the phone. These nail technicians do not take pride in their work. For a pedi, they're over priced. My toes look like I did them myself. I have gone to this place several times over the last couple of years for pedis, but I've never been really impressed by the customer service. Like other reviews, I've experienced the technicians answering the phone, and waiting around at the front to be acknowledged, but my most recent trip for a pedicure was by far the worst I've ever experienced. It was a Tuesday at 11:30am, and the place was basically empty with the exception of me and three other customers. They took me right away and my technician seemed nice enough. They usually try to do a hard upsell, while you're sitting in the pedicure chair with your feet in the tub, and in front of everyone. My technician asked if I wanted the spa pedicure which also came with paraffin wax, and a massage and I said no, I didn't have time for all of that, and I just wanted the regular pedicure. I've had the spa pedicure here several times and it takes FOREVER!!! I've literally had it take almost an hour and 15 min for a pedicure before. They use the time when you have paraffin wax and hot towels all over you, to go to the bathroom, talk on the phone, talk to each other, and EAT! It's just gross. There isn't an 'employee room' where they eat lunch... They just sit out in front of customers eating. It's disgusting. I swear, this time because I was there around lunch time, there was a female employee sitting across from me at a manicure station, that faces the pedicure chairs, eating a full EAR OF CORN!!! WHAT THE!?! Really, an ear of corn in the middle of a place of business? Is there a manager here?? Oh god, are YOU the manager?? Ok, so I ignore the woman chomping on corn and focus back on my pedicure, which was ok. Not great. If you don't do the up sell on your services, they give you no attention and rush you through. Ugh. No matter the shade of polish I choose, my nails are consistently uneven. Also, there isn't an obvious price menu so you have to ask the price for any service. I don't understand these negative reviews! The prices are plainly posted, and they are less than the average for the area. Yes, they will ask if you want more than a plain mani or pedi. So what? Say no if you done want the many other services they offer. I've been coming here since the new ownership took over. There several signs stating that they don't allow tips to be charged. Tips are paid in cash only. Signs are all around the register. You why they do this? It's for the benefit of the nail technician. If tips are charged it can take over a week, sometimes two, for them to receive their tips. They have a manager that appreciates that! I usually get a mani-pedi with the extra massage. I'm usually done in 60-70 minutes. read more

I came here when they first opened. I brought my sister and grandmother. The place was fresh, clean and nice. So today I just stopped in for a quick mani because my cuticles were desperate. Gross, I know! The place looked very run down and messy. None of the nail polished on the polish rack were organized. There was a ziplock bag of wafers on the waiting table. The manicure stations looked slightly below average. But as I was looking around when getting my mani, the shelves behind the manicurist were full of random nail stuff. You can tell they don't take the time to organize or clean. The hot towels werent rolled nicely like other salons do. And there were bottles of fabuloso (floor cleaning product) filled with water to pour into the hot towel machine (I saw the front desk lady/nail tech pour water in the machine). I feel like if they don't take the time to appear presentable, organized and clean to the customers, why would they take the extra time and be clean with their tools, supplies and all. I don't think I'll be coming back just because there are other options around the area. 12$ for a mani is okay. I just didn't like the vibe I was getting from the place. The man that did my mani was nice. His hand massage was kind of short. He didn't paint my nails all that great. I feel like sisters would have done a better job. Worst Mani/pedi I've ever had by that guy that works there. He was goofing off and annoying the other employees as well as me. He took like 3 smoke breaks and cut my big toe. I forgot a jacket cause I wanted to leave so fast. Returned the next day to retrieve it and was given the worst stank eye yet. Worst customer service! Strange interrelationships going on here. The boss and an employee augured over several issues why I was here and it was very uncomfortable. The boss has no control over this employee. They accept walk in's but when we ask how long it will take they kept saying you will be the next person. 45 minutes go by and there was no progress to when they will take me and my group. I understand that we came without an appointment but to some point I believe they should tell us how long it might take for us to wait. This used to be a nice place to go for a pedicure. It's unfortunate that I went here last week and felt really uncomfortable. The woman rushed my pedicure, kept asking which one I wanted and was chit chatty with the employee next to her and kept stating at us the whole time. My daughter asked for a manicure and pedicure, someone else came over and did the manicure while she got her pedicure instead of taking her to the table. That was rushed as well. We were not happy. I've been to this place a couple times in the past, but this past week I went and got a pedicure and a gel manicure for a total of 70 dollars, not including tip (which is expensive but I thought it would be worth it), only to have my gel nails start chipping not even a week later, and my pedicure chipped as well. The nail salon I normally go to is located off route 1 in Laurel, and for the same thing it only costs 45 bucks, and a pedicure can last me up to a month, and gel nails will last for over 2 weeks. I have continued to get my mani Pedi's here sometimes. The management has changed and my technician moved to Frederick. I now see Amy when I go here. I have had other technicians help me when she has not been available and was not happy with the results so I only see Amy. They don't offer drinks anymore and although it is clean in the areas where they work on you, the shelves that line the wall are in need of dusting and organization. I recently made an appointment for a gel manicure. When I arrived I signed in and stated I made an appointment to get a gel manicure. When I sat down, Cindy the nail technician, only showed me SNS colors and did not explain well at all what she was trying to sell me. She was extremely hard to understand. Needless to say I left with a service I did not request and of course it cost more than I planned to pay. She also filed my nails in a shape I've never seen before and they are so short and completely ruined. Praying they grow out to my old length and shape. I complained when I went to pay and the lady working the cash register assured me she would tell the manager. I paid full price but did not leave a tip. It was the worst manicure I've ever gotten. I'm absolutely disappointed with Deja Vu! I got a mani and gel nail polish that were said to last 10-15 days for $30. 5 days later the polish was chipping off my nails. I returned to Deja Vu asking for a repair on my polish and also decided to get my cuticles cleaned up with absolute intend to pay for the mani. I explained everything to the supervisor and she agreed that it was fair to get my nails repolished. Now she walks up to the nail technicians and in their native language started to explain what was happening, I suppose that's what she was doing. First she sits me at a chair says someone was going to help me, one of the girls comes and starts to work on my hands and asked me what I needed so I asked her if she was not informed she was like yeah my supervisor told me what happened so I began to tell her that nothing had changed I continued to want what her supervisor had instructed her to have done on me. So she leaves and starts talking in their native language again and all the employees started to stare at me and then another guy comes to me and asked me to sit in his cubicle that he was going to do it for me. He begins to ask me the same thing, what did I want and what happened and who did my nails 5 days ago. I had had enough by then, the lady getting her nails done next to me came into my defense because it was totally uncomfortable having all of them staring at me and speaking their language. I called the supervisor up and expressed to her that whatever was happening was unnecessary and lack of customer service. She said she understood but did nothing to change the situation. Then the guy who was doing my nails asked me what color I used before and I honestly didn't remember, I chose another color which was white toned and he says to me you had pink color on, I told he well I decided to change colors. He walks up to the supervisor and talks to her then she comes to me and says you had a pink color on right so pick a pink color. I was in disbelief, at that point I said to them listen pick whatever color you want just finish what you started so I can leave. When I was done I walked up to the front desk and paid my bill she said sorry and I let her know that what they had done was considered terrible customer service and she should not allow that to continue. All she could say was she keeps telling the employees not to speak in their language in front of customers. My advice would be to take your money else where. If they treat their customers like that, imagine how they treat their equipments to service their customers?!?! read more

After having used an acrylic overlay for years, I'd noticed the quality of my natural nail deteriorated; there were visible engraved lines where the buffing machines had been used during fill-ins. I tried another nail technician in another location, aside my regular that coerced me into getting gel manicures, by the second day, my nail polish was chipped and nails so fragile they broke. A dear friend referred me to Déjà vu in 2010, after complimenting her on her nails. I made an appointment that weekend and have been a customer ever since. Kevin (no longer there) was my first technician, he was very thorough with his massages and for the all the perks included in the spa pedicure, I was absolutely in heaven. I also got the gel manicure, which lasted well beyond two days more like TWO WEEKS. Helen is currently my nail technician and has been for a year, I normally see her every other Saturday at 9AM. She is definitely a godsend, gentle around your cuticle to ensure you don't get cut or bleed and very particular about presentation, she wants your nails to look flawless. You don't need to point out she forgot to paint or remove nail polish from a certain spot, she's got everything covered. The atmosphere is very relaxing, you can be served wine, soda, coffee, tea, or water and snack on chips, pretzels, or candy that's available free of charge. The staff is very friendly and helpful, I love this place. I live nearby Greenbelt so it's a good distance from my house but the quality I can never replace. Back in my acrylic days, the location may have been close, cost may have been cheap for a fill-in, design, & pedicure but the quality of service was horrible at times, as there'd be long waits, cost increases/changes for certain services that were once all inclusive of a particular service, etc. With Déjà vu the price is worth the service, I spend $75 for a gel manicure and spa pedicure every other weekend and I can tell you the extra gas and cost for services are well worth it. I like this place. I've 2 favorite techs for eyebrow waxing & pedicure. No problem with the technicians. However, the management is changed & they are not friendly. One time, i didn't have cash with me & asked the Mgr to give me a cash back for tips. She was a little upset & asked me to go to the bank... ATM across the salon. Once you are done they rush you to leave the salon. The other concern I have is, the wax heater has been there for a while. I'm not sure with the double dip when they do bikini, armpit & eyebrow. I 'm scratching my head right now where to go as this is the closest to my house. After watching all those scary fungal infections, I'm having some type of reservations. So disappointed. My younger daughter just got her eyebrows waxed here prior to her dance. This was not her first time waxing but first time getting it done at this salon. For days after, there were dark red lines along her brow bone. Now the skin is peeling! I have never seen this happen. Looked terrible for her dance & I'm hoping her skin will heal.
