We've been fans of Déjà Vu since it opened a long time ago and we keep coming back for more. The staff is exceptional, the food (some call it "comfort-style" food) is outstanding. From the fantastic omelettes to the eggs Benedict that people drive many miles to experience, to some of the best Bloody Mary's to be found, Déjà Vu Restaurant and Espresso Bar is a can't miss anytime you visit Redding. I've only mentioned breakfast but their lunches are right on par as well. I especially enjoy their Rueben sandwich which I ask to be served on a French roll instead of rye bread; add curly fries and a Bloody Mary and your afternoon has been made. They're open from 7:00 AM until 2:00 PM, so don't miss out on your chance to experience what the locals already know, once you've been there you'll have to return! This place is a great place for brunch. It is quite a wait, but well worth it! My cousins and I are were in Redding for our cousins wedding and we wanted to grab brunch before we headed back home! Our service was really good. The server was great;however, our food was horrible. I asked for extra crispy hash-browns, but they were barely crispy and very oily. My hollandaise sauce on my benedict just didn't taste right, like it wasnt made fresh. On top of that I think it had been sitting for a bit. All that was our experience with Staff. It was almost unbelievable how prompt they were! Adela was our main server although others checked on us right away once we sat down. Hey there, this is the first time I visited their new location today for brunch. We were greeted promptly and politely with only a five minute wait for our table. We were seated at a nice sized table and our server was prompt and patient. The casual atmosphere is comforting. My family tried to go to breakfast on the 16th of March to celebrate my 15 years old birthday. She was excited, since we loved that restaurant and had been going to it for over 14 years. I was very disappointed when the owner who was also out hostess, made a scene when she confronted my wife after my wife asked why 4 parties where seated before us. The owner told my wife it was my wife's responsibility to tell her we had one child in our party of 6 and that was why we couldn't be seated. That is insane, we are the customer, it's not our job, we are paying for service and food. The way she treated my wife was disgusting, disrespectful and unacceptable. We will never again go to that restaurant. She has lost a loyal customer. We both work for major companies and have a deep network of clients and we will no longer recommend this establishment. It is a shame that people have lost what customer service is, what it means to me kind and to simply treat people with respect. The 1 Star is because it was required, it really is a Zero. Response: My wife was not rude I was there she was very calm, she had to respond to you when you told her it was her responsibility to tell you. If you did not notice the rest of the other families that were waiting saw you come around your greeting stand to confront my wife who was sitting down, they were amazed at your attitude and lack of professionalism. Good and trusty is the best way I can describe this place. Personally, I am not a huge breakfast person. For that reason, I am not in love with their breakfast options. They are good but just not my thing. For lunch options, they have a great French dip and their curly fries are so good. Portion sizes are fairly large, so you will never leave hungry. Oh and if you like mimosas, perfect because those suckers are HUGE! This isn't a greasy spoon place but don't expect kale infused options. It's a nice diner with a very-Redding vibe - which I really enjoy. It is also a great place to bring in friends or family from out of town for breakfast. Plenty of pastry and specialty coffee options for everyone. Coffee snob, do not expect a lot - Very milk and syrup forward but perfect for those who like it like that way. One important tip - if you want to beat the crowd, get there before 9AM. Once 9 hits, you can expect a 20-30 (or longer) minute wait. Stopped here for a nice lunch on our way to see Blink-182 and were very happy with our decision. Debbie was our waitress and she did such a great job! She was very attentive to our needs and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The food was excellent and bountiful. My wife and I shared a bacon avocado burger and salad. They split the order and it was still plenty of food to appease our ferocious appetite. She even gave us "to-go" soda and water cups for the road.
