They called me back, explained the situation and took my feedback about Doordash operations, which did not include "no meat" for Thom Ka. I now see it in the options and ordered since. I've ordered here two different times the same thing, (pad See Ew with no meat 3 star-medium spicy) both times received an order with ZERO spice. My husband ordered the same thing on one of the occasions and his was PACKED with flavor. When I called and asked if I needed to order it differently, they said they already added spice and that I didn't order it correctly but you can tell from the picture there is no Chile sauce anywhere on the meal and I know I put "Medium spice/3 star" in the comments. Waited 25 min for owner to get off the phone so I could order. The swimming angel was horrible. Wide noodles over cooked. Peanut sauce was thick and lumpy with more flour than peanuts. Bad food bad service. read more

Horrible customer service. Went with my girlfriend for dinner. We sat at the table for 15 mins before they brought us a menu or water. We were the only people dining in but door dash people were constantly flowing in and out. When we were brought a menu and water we waited another 20 mins before they took our order. My girl ordered tea and that wasn't even delivered. After we ordered we waited another 25 mins, still no tea or appetiser or anything. then we just walked out. Crab Rangoon was cold as if they took it out of the fridge, it's not supposed to be cold. Panang Curry is listed as thick curry on the menu and it was more like a soup then a curry. The service was horrible and when I asked for a box for my leftovers she said too much soup and it wouldn't fit. I asked for her to put it in two containers then and I got one and most of the curry was not added to the one small Togo container. The place wasn't busy, maybe 3 tables full with a total of 10 people but the lady wasn't attentive or polite. I will not go back here ever again. read more

Burien needed a great Thai restaurant like this place! Dek's is the best in town. We tried two of our favorites - Panang Curry and Phad Thai. Both were excellent and some of the best we've had. They got the spice just right - some places give you a 3-star dish with no spice or a 2-star that knocks your socks off. Portions were great. Everything seemed fresh and was served hot. The atmosphere is inviting, interior is very well done and actually reminds me of nice restaurants we've been to in Thailand - the wood, the art, the music. Very cool. This is our new go-to Thai restaurant for sure. They don't have their liquor license yet and can't serve beer. When they do, I intend to bump this review up to 5 stars! read more

Probably one of the worst Thai restaurants I've tried so far. Ordered wonton soup, they used frozen pot stickers you'd buy from the grocery store for the wontons. The spring rolls are also frozen store bought nastiness. The crispy garlic chicken is an awful nasty mess of awful flavors. I don't know why this place is rated as high as it is on here. Absolutely excellent! The family running the place are extremely friendly and down to earth, and the prices are very standard for Thai restaurants. But the quality is top notch. The wide noodles aren't all torn into little bits, and the dish is presented in an attractive manner. Their spice boat/plate has some great quality spices on it as well. The flavor was just right. First time we've eaten at this new restaurant and definitely the last. We were disappointed with the service and food. We've eaten and have cooked Thai cuisine for many years and know what decent Thai food should taste like. Unfortunately, our meal at Deks was just bad. The chicken satay was extremely tough and dry. The cucumber salad had no acidic balance or spice. It was pure sugar water. The red curry consisted of coconut milk with very little flavor. Food took a long time to reach our table and when the appetizer arrived we waited even longer for plates and utensils to teach our table. We didn't have one dedicated wait person so no one asked if we needed water or beverage refills. Extremely sorry we tried this place. read more

Easily the worst food delivery experience we have had in Burien. For starters, prices were insane, about 2x the average. We are willing to pay for quality and wanted to try somewhere new so we went for it. The food took an hour and a half to arrive. After an hour, I called the restaurant and inquired on the ETA. The woman on the phone told me it would "be there soon" and hung up-no apology, no nothing. When the driver finally arrived, he was surly and unfriendly, again, no apology. And to to top it all off, the food was subpar. The crab wantons looked like they had the filling surgically sucked out of them. Who even knew it was possible to mess up crab wantons? We will be adding this next to Royal Everest on our list of hugely overpriced, terrible food. read more

I understand if this happens randomly...but EVERY time we order take out, even on a Saturday at noon, we show up 30 minutes after our order is placed only to sit and wait for another 30-40 minutes. Dishonest! I came in for lunch at 1 on a weekday and ordered beef broccoli off the lunch special menu I saw posted on the window. The lady behind the counter charged me $17. I paid for it thinking maybe I miss read it but then after looking at it again it clearly says lunch special combination beef broccoli $12. I asked the lady and she seemed flustered when she tells me she thought I was ordering off the quote big menu. I told her no I'm here for lunch. The cook came out and asked me if I wanted the combination and I told the cook I just want what I paid for. Keep in mind I'm very polite and not angry at all and I can tell to her body language I caught her in a lie and she overcharged me on purpose. She brings out the food and I asked her again how is this different then the dinner beef broccoli and she just tells me next time I need to be clear. I'm confident that she was trying to get an extra five bucks for nothing. I don't like the feeling of being taken advantage of. Not smart for a restaurant that's only been open 3 months. I would do 0 Stars because that's unacceptable but maybe one star because the food was actually pretty good. read more

I ordered phad Thai after I left highline medical. The longest 7 hours of my life. The order was via phone, and I think there was some miscommunication with the person who picked up. I asked for extra sprouts and w/shrimp. She didn't say that there be extra for the shrimp. I arrive 10 minutes later and I think they were just starting it. :/ they were nice, but i was kinda annoyed. After she came out...I go home. ..start to eat. WHEEEEEEWWWW! This was too spicy of a 4 star phad thai. I literally was eating pure flaming paste. I had to stop eating. I look at my becu app, they charged me 16 for it. OK so the shrimp add extra. Why didn't she say that. No offense, but I think they need the young girl from the back needs to be on the phone. I won't come here unless I have to. read more

Review is based solely on one dish. I ordered my papaya salad through Grubhub. I was highly disappointed in the taste. All I could taste was fish sauce, that's not how papaya salad is supposed to taste. I couldn't even eat it after two bites..It was the worst I've ever had, and $20+ wasted.... sad. read more

One of the best Thai restaurants I've eaten at outside of Thailand. And the staff are very friendly and the service very good. The entree they call "Sweet Basil" I got with pork and this is what's called Krapow Moo in Thailand. They were happy to top it with a fried egg, which is standard over there but rare here and makes the dish. This was the best version I've had locally. Also had green papaya salad (som tam) which had 4 big juicy shrimp and great flavor. Green curry with beef was tasty, phad thai with chicken was good too and not overly sweet like it often can be in Western Thai joints. I'll definitely be back to feed my next Thai food craving. read more

Been here a couple of times and both times Dek Thai has been a good experience. I'm not sure why people have rated this good restaurant the way they have, and I think it's a shame because their food is solid. It's a very cleanly arranged and well kept location, clearly operated by a local family who doing well at focusing on the thing that matters most - the food. I'm sure that the biggest issue is that they are new to the neighborhood and Seattleites are not an adventurous lot. I hope people overcome their predispositions and give Dek Thai a try. The way to keep good restaurants in the neighborhood is to be a good patron. read more
