The only reason we came to this beach is to reminisce our wedding after 1 year. We found a great little picnic bench but sadly the bartender was very rude. It was our first time buying some drinks here and if most definitely be our last, the Surf Bar bartender made sure of that. Not worth it. I got the Island Breeze cocktail and it was overly sweet while also having an unpleasant alcohol taste at the end (aka the combination of the fruitiness and the alcohol just didn't go well together). What's more, the drink costed $22. Although drinking cocktails on the beach seemed ideal and the picture that I took looks beautiful, it was a horrible experience; i.e. sand got in the drink, the drink itself was unpleasant to down, and it was expensive. Very quick and attentive. 3). Atmosphere. Beach vibe. You will get the vacation feel while chilling out. This is what makes this location very good. 4). Others. Unless you are staying in the hotel, there is very limited parking. You can use their beach tables and chairs with your order. Can get cold when the wind is howling. Good vibe. Solid beach bar/shack that's literally a step away from the beach. Very laid back, good amount of seats, and amazing vibe. Limited selection of wine, but a decent cocktail and beer menu. Nice views, and even better, they offer tacos! The mahi mahi taco was a little too fishy for me, but slathered with whatever green sauce they use, it completely made up for it. It was a little chilly the night I went- they could use more heaters in the seating area. Absolutely rude! Martin and Tyler gave poor service with a bad attitude. Not accommodating in any way. When we went back to the bar 10 minutes after ordering a couple drinks, waiting in line again, Martin's response was "What? I did not take your order man!" Go somewhere else. Closet bar to the beach. The bartender over poured patron into my cup..... Complaints? I think not. The bar has multiple tables and chairs for your sitting pleasures. I did not pay close attention to the drink availability, but they seem to have a multitude of drink options. Full bar with yummy specialty cocktails available plus a limited beach menu (see pic). You can choose the "bed" half-moon canopy or the two single lounge chair canopy. Loved the bed! My friend had recommended getting a cocktail at Del Beach Bar during my first time visit to Coronado, so we stopped by on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Only three people in line and one bartender working - not bad, we didn't mind waiting. Finally it was our turn! Only problem: the customers who had already been served and wanted second rounds suddenly formed a new line on the other side. The bartender literally ran over there to cater to them first. Huh?! The growing line behind us were just as confused. As far as I knew, these line-cutters were neither the president nor royalty who deserved special treatment. When the bartender finally came back to us, no greeting whatsoever. He also spoke on a whisper level and gave me an attitude when I told him I couldn't hear him. If you're going to be a jerk, then I'm going to order a difficult blended frozen drink. The drinks were pricey too, $15-20. Love the Del, but they missed the mark on the taco shack. They advertise "Taco Tuesdays".....and anyone in San Diego knows this means special priced taco night. NOT at the Del, all tacos are still overpriced at $7-8. Yes, it is "the" Del, but don't call it Taco Tuesday when it is the same priced tacos as every other time the taco shack is open (and it is open late a couple other times, too, so no big deal about Tuesday). Decent place to get a drink on the beach. Ok, it's right at the Hotel Del Coronado, so it's not going to be cheap. Wifey and I parked our bikes and stopped to have a nice drink in the shade after walking in the surf for a bit. I had a manhattan and she had a nice tropical drink. The drinks set us back about $40 including tip, but that's what you'd have to expect. The drinks were good, we had a nice moment there on the beach. Totally worth it. Saw this place the other day and thought it looked cute with a great view. Seemed like a great place to grab a drink. I went there this weekend with some friends. I used to be a bartender in my younger days and honestly was blown away by the rudeness of these bartenders. They are all guys and are so rude. Almost like an entitled feeling. I thought maybe I did something wrong or someone in my group maybe said something stupid but then I watched them do it to other guests. I've never seen such a thing. The location is out of this world....at the Hotel del Coronado, with gorgeous views of the beach and the roar of the crashing waves. This is an outdoor beach deck with patio furniture type of restaurant. We enjoyed a delicious late afternoon snack of guacamole and salsa with chips. Fun beach to go for a good walk and even scramble over some of the rocks to get closer to the ocean with the picturesque hotel del Coronado in the background. There's also some amazing sand castles and sand sculpture there too and people just enjoying the sun. When you go over the rocks though, realize you are on a public beach and that other people want to see from the vantage point you're at too. Don't just stand there, let people by and be courteous. When I was there this girl was just standing not moving for about 20 minutes not letting anyone by. It's plain rude. Everyone wants to enjoy and we can all easily share. Also the nearby ritzy apartments do not have an exit or entrance back easily accessible to the beach. Finding a restroom I also soon found was a chore so those with tiny bladders be forewarned. read more

Really, really bad service. We ordered the double bed on the beach and the teenagers working the cabana forgot to set up our seat. After 15 minutes I had to walk back to the desk to remind the employees that we were there. Our umbrella continued to blow away in the wind and the teenager we asked to reattach the umbrella could not figure out what to do to help and eventually never came back. After receiving no service from the server on staff I again walked to find someone that could at the very least bring us water. He forgot about us and I finally walked to the bar to serve myself where I had to wait in line. We finally purchased a $30 frozen fruit tray which ended up being fruit that had almost gone bad that they'd frozen so they wouldn't have to throw it out. Everything was mushy and terrible. We waited 45 minutes for the fruit tray to arrive (after I'd once again reminded someone that we were waiting) which ended up being served in a takeout container. We finally fed the $30 fruit to the seagulls. By the end of the day we were laying in a bed of our own trash because the server was clearly not interested in bussing. The only person that was helpful was someone named Davie who was clearly doing all of the work on the beach. read more

Jay Clayton is a fantastic manager. Our stay at Hotel Del Corona started yesterday, kind of clumsy, as the hotel is adjusting to all the regulations due to COVID. It's hard for the hotel. Today, Jay Clayton treated my family w/ such respect and kindness. While the regulations make it hard to enjoy a vacation, Jay created a beach experience for my kids and I so we could enjoy our day.
