Excellent Marg on the beach to top off a short day of work. Where else can coworkers enjoy a drink w feet in the sand. Pricey yes, and expected due to the location outdoors of the Hotel Del Coronado. Perfect place to grab a drink in a more laid back setting than the formal hotel property.

I really like this place. It's at the Del down by the beach past the lawn. Great service by Jeffrey today. Ordered the fish taco and a tequila and soda. Both on point. You also can't beat the view of Coronado beach. Don't miss. Highly recommended!

Great location for a taco stand at The Del- perfect view of the ocean and they have a cute Tiki Bar setup with seating on the beach. I came on a late Friday afternoon and they had live music playing. The line to order was very long so my friend and I opted to order online. The order took about 10 minutes to be ready and we picked it up behind the bar. By the time we picked up our food, the line at the bar was shorter so I also picked up a margarita, which was well made. I had the Surf & Birria Taco which was just ok. The flavor was kinda bland - the beef was dry and the shrimp was not spicy at all. This taco definitely needed hot sauce. Overall, this place is overpriced for what it is but it's at The Del with an amazing location so...

Well it's a taco truck on the beach in front of The Del so I should have expected that sort of pricing for a simple taco and drink... but $50 for 2 tacos and 2 drinks? Insane. Food was okay... hubs ordered a spicy shrimp taco which he said had no hint of spice and I had the fish taco which lacked flavor but was okay. Glass of wine and a beer each $17 and $14... insane to me. I will say the location is key. Our kids could play on the beach right in front of us while we sat at a picnic table to eat and drink. The beach was trashed with people's garbage which makes me so angry, but they do try to keep up with cleaning the area around the tables. Would I go back? Probably not. But I do see the appeal given the location and ease of it.

Great drinks and nice bartenders! Cool vibe right on the beach. There are plenty of tables with umbrellas on the sand to relax and enjoy the sun.

Not our order - long story.

Am being generous on the rating because location, location, location. First of all, it's at "The Del", right on the sand. What's not to like about that? Live music was a plus. As far as ordering and food, don't expect to be pleasantly surprised - instead, plan to go with the flow. I stood in line with Sweet Granddaughter while Dear Hubby searched for a table with an umbrella for shade. The menu is tacos or tacos. I picked Barbacoa Beef for DH, and a fish taco for me. Found out that they have kids quesadilla, which wasn't on the menu. Though families eat here, the bartenders are all about making alcoholic drinks; the food is secondary to them. In an unpractical fashion, the drinks are served in plastic cups with no lids, so good luck getting them to your table without spilling. I asked SG to help me carry a cup of water, and much of that ended up sprinkling the ground. I had my hands full with a beer for DH and a virgin pina colada for me. Meanwhile, I also paid for our tacos at the same time, but they tell you to come back in about 10 minutes and they'll have the order ready in the back of the building where the kitchen is, not up front where the bar holds center stage. DH goes to get the order, and gives them my name. They hand him my Lianne order, but it really was for Lucas. Lucas had a similar order to ours, but not the exact order. Thus I paid $50+ for 3 tacos, a beer, and a virgin drink, and didn't even get what I ordered. Awkward. The setting of being on the sand with the bay in the distance, the Del over our shoulders, and live music being played made for a relaxing time. If we go back, I will hover by the kitchen and make sure that I get the correct order!

Order from this side then pick up is to the north.

At Hotel Del near beach chair rentals. We weren't too hungry and appreciated the reasonable cost here. Around $9 per shrimp or fish taco, come with corn tortillas, generous toppings with avocado and slightly spicy chipotle crema and pico de gallo, with slaw. If you rent loungers or above, you can order from beach service. We decided to order directly at the stand so it didn't have time to get cold. Recommended.

The steak taco was really good in my opinion! They're not shy about the serving on mine. I also got a Piña Colada and that was super refreshing on a hot day. Prices are steep but makes sense cause it's right by the beach.

I know people have said it before, but the location of the Beach & Taco Shack is fantastic. The ocean, live music, cocktails and taco, what's not to love?! We got the Beef Barbacoa Taco and Surf & Birria Taco and damn they were good. Two of us got the sunset beach and neither of us were fans. The whiskey point and peachy bottom were very tasty. The guys mixing and taking orders were super friendly and very welcoming.

    Mahi-mahi and shrimp tacos

The sand is perfect, and the view the same. Couple that with great service and live music for a really nice day. That about sums it up. Jaime was a great server - very friendly and attentive - we felt like it was important to him we were happy. We began with the Windandsea and Pipeline cocktails. The Windandsea was ok, but I would not order again. My wife enjoyed the Pipeline. Food was a big disappointment. After looking at the menu (and the ridiculous prices!) we decided to go for street tacos for lunch. The tacos were not cheap ($8 per street taco), but we were not that hungry and a better option. We had the shrimp and grilled Mahi Mahi tacos. The shrimp were ok, but the Mahi Mahi were dry, overcooked, and not much flavor. Maybe the steak taco is the way to go, but we did not try it. Each taco came topped with slaw, pico, and guacamole. We also ordered the Smashed Avocado (guacamole) with chips for $21. It truly was only one avocado's worth of guacamole at best and only a few chips - just enough for 1 person. To come up with the 4 overall, I rate the view and experience a 5, the service a 5 and the food a 1.

This was my first time dining at Coronado Brewing and besides having a blast with my buddies, my son and nephew joined us for blessed quality family time. My buddies are into breweries and drinking flights of the breweries' craft beer, so I know why my best friend of more than 5 decades chose this restaurant. I enjoyed my first time here because of the yummy food, having an excuse to visit Coronado, and our young Asian waitress Drea provided friendly and outstanding customer service. Coronado Brewing is located in beautiful, coastal Coronado, CA. It can be found on the far north end of Orange Avenue. The easiest way to get there would be to take the Coronado Bay Bridge or you can drive the Silver Strand. The restaurant is a short walk from Nicky Rottens, several steps from Saiko Sushi, it's just down from Coronado Hardware and Fire Station Venue, it's across from the Coronado Southern Baptist Church, and it's directly across from a market. Parking could be challenging because it's street parking, but Coronado is a safe neighborhood, so a short walk shouldn't be a problem. It's a popular eatery, which means you might have to wait to be seated. As you enter Coronado Brewing, you'll see how spacious it is with booth seating, bartop seating, and tabletop seating. There are framed pics of florals, booths decorated with coastal fauna, decorative lighting, ceiling fans, and a brick fire pit. I didn't think there were enough televisions to cheer on our Padres. Our waitress Drea was stellar, she had a vibrant personality, and she provided notable customer service. Unlike my buddies, I couldn't tell you the difference between craft beer or store bought beer, but my pals are craft beer aficionados. I can tell that my buddies really enjoyed the flights of craft beer they ordered from Coronado Brewing. If you're like my buddies, then I recommend you try out this restaurant. I joined my friends to catch up with them, support our Padres, bond with my family, and to try Coronado Brewing's food. Looking at their menu, pricing is reasonable and they serve the following: Pub Favorites, Tacos, Burgers & Sandwiches, Salads, Wood-Fired Pizzas, Main Courses, and Desserts. I had eaten a filling lunch, so I wasn't too hungry, but I did share a Nachos Borrachos, Fish & Chips, Meat Lover's Pizza, MooTime Ice Cream Cake, and a Brownie Sundae. The nachos borrachos were satisfying with its carnitas pulled pork over fresh tortilla chips, finger licking delish with its jalapeño beer-cheese, and just a tasty starter. I shared the fish and chips with my son, which had a tasty batter and I enjoyed the accompanying garlic fries. The meat lover's pizza had a good amount of protein, but I thought the crust could have been more firm. The ice cream cake and brownie sundae are must orders because they were decadent, there was an abundant amount of chocolate, and they were rich in flavor. I had a blessed time experiencing Coronado Brewing Company for the first time with some of my closest friends and my family. I really enjoyed what I ate, but I definitely need to experience their other entrees the next time we visit.

That said, the space can feel a bit chaotic, especially given its size. What you can typically expect is that this isn't the kind of bar where you go to quietly relax. Most of the time it's better suited for a festive mood. It gets packed, movement around the bar can be tight, and finding a stool or seat isn't always easy if you're hoping to sit back and unwind. The house rules--such as the "no phones at the bar" policy--can also feel more like part of the spectacle than a charming quirk, depending on your mood. For example, the bartender may hand you drinks, a bill to sign, a receipt, a clipboard, a pen, and your phone after grabbing it to tap the register for payment--all while you're squeezed between seated patrons, processing your order. In moments like that, it can almost feel like part of the act because it can be quite difficult to keep that phone or any of the other items off of the limited bar space: the chaos fuels the energy of the crowd and the hope for a free round of drinks. If that's the kind of atmosphere you're in the mood for, you'll likely have a great time. The décor, however, is outstanding. The model planes are impressive, and the historic aviation vibe adds a lot to the experience. The Maverick "Hard Deck Bar" from the film was modeled after the I Bar, and there's an enduring urban legend that some people hoped the movie prop would remain as a real bar on base after filming--though it was dismantled. That connection probably drives additional curiosity and visits to the original I Bar, even though it's a different place. Because it's located on a military base, the crowd tends to include regulars passing through on assignment rather than tourists. In fact, it isn't really set up for tourist traffic. So if you happen to get access with someone who has a military ID--and you arrive while the bar is actually open--you'll likely enjoy the experience. But if you're simply looking for a relaxed place to sit and have a drink, you may prefer one of the bars off base where there's a bit more room to breathe.
