I went here with my wife and another couple. We had an 8:15 reservation. We got there at 7:30 and checked in with the hostess downstairs. We informed the hostess we were going to have a drink at the bar, we went to the bar upstairs and had a drink. That's when the confusion started the waitress took my card and started a tab. When I went to close out to go to be seated I asked for th check it took them about 15 minutes to find my check. I then went down to the hostess at our reservation time and checked in. She said they would seat me momentarily. 15 min while still standing at the hostess stand downstairs my cell phone rings and the voice on the other end asks if I am still in the restaurant. It was the hostess upstairs. Obviously there's a break down in communication here, we sat upstairs in a booth overlooking the street outside. It was a night seat with the exception that a party of five decided to stand beside our table spilling their cocktails on the floor beside us. The waiter was ok but not what I expected. The best service was from the female sommelier who was very pleasant and good at her job. We had three apps two steaks, two lamb chops and three sides all washed down with three bottles of wine. The meat portion was excellent and they lived up to their name. The sides were ok but I believe capital grill have better tasting sides. I am giving Del Friscos 3 stars and not two because they are still new. Even though they are a well established chain, it's a new spot and a very large restaurant at that. The service needs to be addressed but the meat quality is superb. I will recommend people to go here as it is a beautiful spot and I am sure their service flaws will get ironed out. read more

We went out last night to celebrate a 30 year wedding anniversary with friends and just being out of the house. We saw a hamburger on a plate being served and asked our server if we could order one. He told us that we could NOT and it was only on the kids menu. We asked to speak with a manager who was happy to place that order for us. I appreciated that. We waited for our food for OVER an hour. As we waited, we were hungry and asked for some hot bread. I look forward to HOT bread that the butter melts easily on. The first batch was warm and the next three batches were COLD. When bread is hot, butter melts and you should not be able to see it. All you could see was white butter sitting on top of the bread each time. We gave up on the bread and stopped asking for it. When our food finally came, the salad we ordered had wilted lettuce, the steak was not hot, and neither was the burger. I really cannot believe this was the type of food that we were receiving from this type of restaurant. I saw the manager walk through out the restaurant during the evening and expected him to come over to see how our food was. He never came back to our table. We paid for our food and left feeling pretty awful about our experience. Our friends had gone to another steakhouse in the area this week and had exceptional service with delicious hot food. Unfortunately, this happened the night before daylight savings time. The timing of the service pushed us out later than we wanted to be on an important night to us to get to bed early. We are all very disappointed and exhausted. read more

NIGHTMARE!!!!!! Go to MASTROS!! Racist!!! NASTY FOOD!!! Waited for 2 hrs to over hear the staff making racist comments about the patrons. Sat caucasian couples before us and then told us "You'll should leave because, it doesnt look like y'all are going to get served" after we told them that we knew the couples came after us and didnt have reservations and was seated. They then sat us and didnt serve us and then a staff member accused us of smelling like drugs. I am an attorney and never used drugs in my life, then a cop come over and I asked him if he smelled drugs and he said "NO" this establishment is very racist and have no respect for the people of the community and the police officer was laughing while vulgar words was used by the staff such as "Nigga" "I will be glad when these mofos leave and we close" said by Dionne who was a trouble making Bartender. I use to host business meetings here and saw colleagues tonight who was disgusted the waitress was apologetic and ask the very nasty Manager if they could comp our meal because of all the poor treatment and they made us pay anyway and when I had questions he walked away and brought the Police back, I am going to continue this with the BBB, DCPD and if we have to protest this establishment we will, the food is mediocre and this restaurant is out of control and has very ghetto employees and racist Managers. I hope they close and we get another Mastros or a restaurant with class that deserves to be in a prime location instead of this place with food that is low grade. read more

Look, I had friends from Houston in town last weekend (April 15-17)...a few of the guys wanted a good steak so we were lead here. Omg, hands down the best environment to show them a good time. We made reservations and some of our group was stuck in traffic. The nice hostesses guided us to the bar to allow us to wait and things started there. We ordered drinks and by far the best crab cake I've ever eaten. I don't even eat crab much but I couldn't help myself. It was cooked to perfection. When the rest (minus 1) of our party arrived, they allowed us to get seated while we waited for the last person to arrive. Apps and drinks were ordered and as everything continued to come out, we received amazing service. If I hadn't had so many drinks I would have remembered our server's name but I can't....Anyway, my friends had an amazing time and Del Frisco's was a great decision. For my main course, I ordered the seabass, served over a delicious fried rice. Let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing! If you enjoy fish and are looking for something lighter, this dish is a must-try. I know it's a steakhouse, but the seabass truly is the steak of fish--flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. i dont usualy leave a 2 star but man... we didnt have the best experiance. It was my bestfriends birthday so me and the boys took him out. they said they had to split our party becayse we had 7 guest. i get it its the rules. so to avoid that we got a private room.. to have to sign a contract for a room you would think they would clean it. there were clam shells and a bunch of other trash scattered around the room. Our server would stop in every 15-20 min to get our drinks n food. it took about 30 mins to get our first drinks. over all the food was very average. my steak was over done but i just delt with it. we dropped over 2 g and for that i feel we should have had a better experiance. place does have potential tho. read more

Horrible experience! Made a reservation for a dear friend's birthday, she ordered a drink but never received it. It took 2 hours to get our meal------a $605 meal. We did not receive bread until almost an hour after we arrived. It was busy this evening no doubt but service was extremely horrible. I am very angry that my friends birthday was ruined, we had to order her complimentary birthday cake to go because it was taking so long. I would not recommend and I will not return. I have been here three times all because I thought the previous visits were aberrations. The first time I went, they served me the wrong steak - NY Strip instead of Ribeye. They fixed the error but the Ribeye they brought out was tough and sinewy. Second time, no better - tough and sinewy again with no redeeming flavor. Third and last time, same result. Dels has the best Lobster Mac & Cheese‼The Del's salad is a great starter to a hearty meal. If you want a premium steakhouse this is this spot.
