Y'all know how much I love Seaqua. So now Patchogue has a Del Fuego... sweet. 4 stars! This time we got Pulled Pork Wontons as an appetizer and I got 2 shrimp soft tacos. My mom and Aunt got one shrimp taco and one beef taco each. As usual in typical DF fashion the chips and salsa came out. Believe it or not... either my tolerance for heat has grown but the salsa wasn't that hot. Get the Pulled Pork Wontons. They need a side of BBQ sauce but they were amaze. So so good. The slaw was also a solid with them. But definitely needed more BBQ sauce. My shrimp soft tacos were great but again needed more of that sauce that's in it. A few bites had it and other bites had none in it. Will I be back? You betcha. Congrats to our waitress Morgan who was an absolute doll and was just recently engaged. read more

Feel the heat at Del Fuego! Well, I mean maybe you'll feel some fire from this Mexican restaurant's selection of hot sauces, but otherwise you don't want to actually get burned. My dinner here a few weeks ago didn't leave me with any permanent scars, but my feelings were mixed. Vamos! DF is part of the ever-growing awesomeness that is Patchogue's Main Street, and you can't miss the black awnings with flaming letters when you're walking by. Inside it's like you fell into Tijuana, but with a little flare. It felt cozy, yet fun. Looking over the menu showed plenty of handheld Mexican delights as well as enchilada platters, a ton of quesadillas, and other Mexi-dishes. Chips and salsa on the table started us off. The salsa had a little zing to it so it gets my seal of approval. We decided some guacamole needed to join the salsa and so we dug in when it hit the table. It was seemingly-fresh guac, though lacked a little flavor. From there, it was main course time and I went for the Taqueria section of the menu and chose the taco trio (any three of their available taco types). Chicken, pulled pork, and shrimp lined my plate which came out with relative quickness. Though in the end, it's not about how fast the food's delivered to your table (sorry Speedy Gonzalez). It's about quality, and unfortunately this is where the stars started falling off. The shrimp taco tasted like mediocre seafood (that almost rancid fishy flavor filled most bites), and the pulled pork taco was drowned in overly sweet mango BBQ sauce. The only true winner was the pollo. It clucked down into my stomach with ease. Overall, Del Fuego's flame was a little weak for me, but I see potential here. The three stars I'm slapping on this review are mostly for my bleh tacos, and hopes that a return trip could be in order through menu intrigue. The staff and pricing were quality enough to warrant this too. Fingers crossed the caliber of my comida also improves. If not, I guess there's always hot sauce. read more

I really liked everything I've had here! The classic burrito is one of the better basic burritos I've had in the area as a vegetarian. The fuego salad is so so good and massive it lasts me two meals. Chili spiced onion rings are huge and really good. Yucca fries are decent not the best yucca fries I've had. read more

I'll start off by saying I really wish Yelp allowed half stars because this is 3.5/5 but not quite a 4. Having been to this location a few times I've never been really impressed, so I wasn't expecting to be blown away this time either. The free chips and salsa are always really good, and the food is usually ok as well just never anything spectacular. Shrimp Burrito: 3.5/5 the shrimp was a little fishier tasting than I would've liked but overall it was a decent burrito. It's served with a small salad with mango and jicama which was pretty good as well. Chicken Quesadilla: 2/5 this was very dry and bland, without the sour cream to dip in this would've been a chore to eat. I'd recommend getting some sort of sauce/dressing added to it This is definitely not my first choice for TexMex food in the area, but it's a mediocre choice and reasonably priced. It's nice to sit outside and people watch and the atmosphere here is always good vibes. Definitely not a spot I'll frequent but it's a place I'll come to again. Went here for lunch on a Saturday and came right when it opened. The host let me choose where to sit and gave me chips and salsa before anyone else arrived at my table. I ordered the lunch taco special (3 tacos and soft drink for $9) which was good. I also ordered the steak taco which was decent. We ordered the sangria which was $5 off but still feel like a pitcher shouldn't be $35 with the discount. All in all not a bad place to eat. Bumped up to 4 stars because of the service. When it comes to Tex Mex there are sooo many options here on LI but I think Del Fuego is at the top of my list now! The atmosphere is cozy and cute. You instantly get the Mexican fiesta vibe in the form of the party lanterns and bright theme colored walls. Can I just say how awesome the bar looks btw, really sets the place off. The place is clean and well-maintained. Our service was great. The waitress was very attentive, speedy & efficient. We continually got water delivered every few minutes which was great. I ordered the taco trio with 2 shrimp tacos and 1 carne asada taco. The tacos were phenominal! The shrimp were jumbo and juicy with a really sweet sauce that topped the cabbage and corn. The carne asada was seasoned well and tasted fab! At a price of $15, I couldn't have asked for a better meal or better price. We had plenty of time to look at the menu, we ordered and the food came out SO FAST! Alcoholic beverage was brought out the same time as the food, and it was the pineapple xpress. I heard from another review and some friends about that drink and it was DELISH! Worth it for $12. I like the pace of everything. I'm a server myself and I was really impressed. Based on all my experiences at Babylon I had high hopes that were shattered by my first few experiences at the patchogue location. Dismal flavor compared to Babylon and an abundance of food from Babylon made patchogue seem almost a joke. The tacos we would get would come half full. I've been back a few times over and they have really improved my views prior. I think the bar tending is still just alright, the service okay. I think the food has improved and perhaps they have progressed through those growing pains... We'll see! But as I pay 60 bux for our meals to go, I have yet a few more complaints: They have never once given us the rice n beans that come with the tacos according to the menu. The hard tacos still come half full more than half of the time. On the positive I will never be able to go to del fuego without ordering the shrimp and chorizo flautas, they are beyond belief good. You get two for 11 bux. I wish they were 3 for 13; I love them so much and I could probably make these at home for a fraction of the price, but I will live at del fuego for them. The food is good overall, some things really great. But the fact I've had so many imperfect experiences makes me an angry elf. If you decide to go, I'm sure you'll enjoy it, I'm a just stickler and enjoy it as well. Get those flautas though! The pork wontons are great as well. Sometimes they'll have a good tap beer or two, the margaritas still just taste like straight lime juice, I can just go to Gallo for those. I took a chance on ordering from here one time, I like to try ordering from new places from time to time, you win some, you lose some. Del Fuego in Patchogue was a BIG W. Now I order from this location off of Door Dash and Uber Eats quite often for lunch when working, I always get the Lone Star Fries with BBQ brisket, it is never a disappointment! The Lone Star Fries are such a good portion for the price, I always eat it all (Sometimes struggling toward the end because I'm so full) The chips and salsa they give you are always great, I love spicy and the salsa is spicy but also sweet at the same time, a great combination. I'll definitely be ordering again soon. I also plan to one day finally go inside the restaurant for some food and drinks. Could not recommend this place more! read more

I stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised how attentive the staff/manager was when I walked into this establishment and I felt very invited. The have Margarita Monday specials ... ehhh let's give a try OMG for $5 this drink was amazing. Some places make margaritas too sour and gives me heartburn. The bartender went through all the special ingredients of the mix that they use in substitution. A Must Try ! I ordered the steak Gordita tacos ... so full of flavor and melted in my mouth. We order from Del Fuego all the time. Their food is excellent and the people that work there are awesome. We usually use door dash and eat at home because their food is still amazing as take out. Last night we placed an order through door dash and the dasher actually stole our meal and cancelled the order after it was handed to him. This meant we got refunded - but the restaurant just handed him a free meal. So after an hour we had no meal, and were refunded, and the restaurant didn't get paid! So messed up all around right! Definitely a flaw in the DoorDash system! Of course we reported the incident to DoorDash. Janelle the manager was so lovely. She apologized and offered to make our order again so my husband could go and pick it up. Not only was the order ready immediately when my husband got there - but Janelle would not allow us to pay for the order. My husband was trying to pay for BOTH orders since the restaurant was out an entire meal, but Janelle would not let him give her a dime! It was absolutely not their fault we were in that situation but the restaurant still made it right for us. We've always been customers (since they opened) but now for sure we'll never stop going there! read more

I ordered my meal on Uber eats. I got a burrito lunch special. I got chips and salsa and it tasted pretty good, and I got a vegetable taco that had mushrooms and other veggies. However, When the food arrived my order was completely wrong. I did not order salsa and chips, and my vegan chorizo burrito has cheese and sour cream which I requested that not to be in there. The salad did not come with the lunch either, nor did the drink. Essentially, everything was wrong and the food was decent, but not good for me to come back. Del Fuego's, you are my person...here's why!!! I love coming to Del Fuegos, which I lovingly refer to as Dels. For example, Guys wanna grab Margs at Dels tonight? Usually response is Yes! That's the beauty of this spot. You can grab drinks that are delicious, creative, with fresh ingredients. For the sweet tooth, try the Bee's Knees topped with Honey Combs cereal. For a spicy soul, like myself, go with the Casa Del Fuego which uses house infused chili tequila. Or a wide selection of craft beers and ciders. If the crowd is feeling like more than a drink, the food won't disappoint! I have had snacks up at the bar or a three course meal at the table. My go to is the Honey Chipotle Wings with the Five Onion Dip. Life Hack: save some tortilla chips for the onion dip. It makes like a Mexican chips and dip! Their nachos are awesome, big enough to share. Their cheese quesadillas are well flavored with chives, too bad they are consistently soggy. One of the best parts of Dels is the Deals! Although the server kinda warned that a frozen margarita would taste watered down, I have had many frozen margaritas before that tasted just fine. This one didn't. They were quite good and the server was willing to customize them. Ordered the Yucatan Style Chicken Enchiladas. They were ok, not great. The "chicken" was so dark that it kinda looked like beef so I'm sure it wasn't chicken breast ... which I would have preferred. Once I got to the middle of the first enchilada, I noticed that the temperature was not hot and the cheese didn't really seem to be fully melted. A mediocre Enchilada. My friend and I were looking for a Mexican place to grab dinner somewhere in Patchogue. I've heard about Del Fuego and the name is pretty cool so we gave it a shot. It was a Friday night at 830 and the place was pretty empty. It was raining pretty bad so we figured that's why. They brought us chips and salsa. It was good. I ordered the skirt steak fajita, it was decent. The steak to pepper ratio was very imbalanced and bascially was a pepper dish with steak. I made 2 wraps and brought the rest home. I think it came with 4 total. ($21) My friend was undecided on what to order and our waitress suggested the chicken brisket, so she went with it. It came DROWNING in some type of BBQ sauce. My friend didn't enjoy it and had wished she knew about the sauce. I tried a small piece and the sauce was too flavorful for me too, that was all I tasted. ($19 plus $1 for sour cream) She order a strawberry margarita and I got a Pineapple Express margarita. They were both very basic. Not strong, not sweet - in the usually small glass you tend to get at Mexican restaurants with the blue rim (ya know?!!) Certainly made a point to finish them when the bill came and we saw they were $12/e !!! Between the 2 of us the bill was $70. Way more expensive than it was worth. My husband and I have been to this Del Fuego enough times that I cannot even try to remember the number. Excellent service at the bar and we have become regulars because of the service. Usually, I stick with the steak tacos, because they are quick and delicious. The toppings on the tacos are perfect and whenever we sit down, we are immediately given chips and salsa, which holds me over until my tacos arrive. I never leave without getting a house margarita on the rocks with salt, which is by far to this date, my favorite margarita. It's definitely one of my favorite restaurants for good reason. read more
