WHAT OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We have used Chris before at our home and oddly, one of the outlets in our garage just stopped working? Being an Electrical Engineer (educationally only), I thought, of course, "OKAY, I can try to fix it!" I read all the articles on what to do when an outlet goes bad and things to check, I even replaced the outlet and it still did not work. I noticed that one of the breakers was switching oddly, so maybe it was the breaker? So, we called Chris. On the phone, Chris took me through some possible sources of the problem to check. The last check involved the GCI outlets in the house, kitchen, bathrooms, and guess what, . . . . . . . the GCI outlet in the master bathroom had accidentally had the TEST button pushed when I was cleaning the bathroom walls. He arrived at my house in less than one hour and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem of my circuit breaker tripping frequently when my Tesla charger was running. Very disappointing. Initially, Chris is a nice guy came out to our house and did a bunch of lighting work at a very fair price. Unfortunately, when we tried to reach him to come out to finish one of the projects he had started he was impossible to reach. My wife tried to contact him repeatedly and he refused to communicate. Then I attempted, he responded one time said he would come out but then never did and never got back to me and totally ignored my follow up calls and texts. Chris was recommended by a friend when we needed a switch and ceiling box installed for a ceiling fan and to install a new interior entry light above our front door. He showed up right on time, discussed some options with us and then got right to work. He was very careful to cover our furniture to protect it from plaster dust, and to clean up when the job was done. Chris clearly understood what we wanted and helped us understand what he planned to do to get us that. He was very patient as we needed to spray paint the ceiling cover for the entry light after he had removed it with the old light. In January of 2020 my tenant contacted me about one of the smoke detectors located in the kitchen making chirping noises. I contacted Del Mar Electric to make the necessary repairs. The smoke detectors are hard wired. Someone from the company went out and did the installation. I received a bill for $225.00 labor only and $65.0O for the new detector. I was shocked at the labor cost and contacted them asking why so expensive. I never did receive any type of satisfactory response. I went ahead and paid the bill figuring it was my fault for not checking on their rates. Last week my tenant called again with the smoke detector in the master bedroom chirping. I called a local handiman who went out that day, replaced the unit and checked all the others (3) in the house. All of them needed new batteries and one had the wires cut. His total bill including supplies was $255.00. Del Mar Electric never even looked at the other smoke detectors. They are a total trip off not to mention unprofessional. This is my second experience working with Chris at Del Mar Electric. The first time I called him regarding a malfunctioning plug at a vacation rental I manage. He was on time, neat, and did the work for a fair price. So when all new appliances were being delivered to my home today and I was missing a plug for the range, I contacted Chris. He was at my house quickly. After installing a 220v plug, he finished setting my range in place and even leveled the feet. I cannot praise Chris enough! Giving a HUGE thanks to Del Mar electric on behalf of our animals!! Our animal hospital lost power with a patient under anesthesia (ie. A true 'life or death' situation), and Del Mar dropped everything to come out asap and help, as our property management company told us it was our responsibility to find an electrician in our circumstance.
