Excellent pizza experience. Many restaurants in the area do a great job. They kind of have to given the amount of tourists and money that flows through this town. The crust, sauce, toppings, etc. were all very good. Give them a try if you are in town and looking for good local pizza. read more

This review is specifically for Jordan, Victor, Amanda, Eli and the kitchen staff. They are all so hardworking and always give us the best service. Both times we have come, Jordan has been so helpful and always hooks it up! He even remembered us even though the last time we came was about 2 months ago. Del Mar Pizza really does feel like a family. They care about their customers, and food quality more than anything. Besides the great customer service, the food is incredible. Pizzas, wings, garlic bread, salad, etc. it's all amazing. This is a great family place with great food!! They don't have restrooms or indoor seating right now with COVID. They have nice ambient lighting outside and lots of seating. Great place!! read more

Minus one star because there was a piece of hair in my pizza. I didn't notice it until my very last bite. It could not have been mine because as I tried pulling the hair off and it was baked into the cheese itself. Otherwise, a great place for lunch. Two slices and a drink for 7 bucks and some change. Seating can be limited both inside and out. Or you should order your food and take it down the street to Seagrove Park and enjoy the views of the beach. read more

Googled best pizza Del Mar- was not let down!!! Wonderful thin crust pizza- only one size -8 generous slices. A bit pricey but worth it. I believe I paid about $33.00 for extra sauce and 4 toppings. Very tasty and no skimping on toppings! I'll be back! read more

Just stopped in for to go of pasta dinner of penne (sauce choices were marinara, bolognese, butter and pesto) with garlic bread & salad (choice of cesare or chopped italian) and a chicken club sandwich. Service was super good, pasta was good sized and tasty according to our daughter. Chicken club was one of the best I've ever had with awesome toasted bread. Had a draft pint of lager while waiting, total was $32.00. read more

Terrible experience at Del Mar Pizza today - ordered just two slices of pizza and when asked how long it'd take, I was told just a few minutes. Fast forward 45 minutes and after multiple unsuccessful attempts at trying to get an honest answer out of the cashier, I was told the two slices still hadn't even been put in the oven. I left the restaurant empty handed and thoroughly disappointed. I understand if a restaurant is busy and food takes longer than anticipated, but at least be honest and don't blatantly lie about it "just being a few more minutes" over and over again. A true example of how not to operate a business! read more

Del Mar Pizza is by far the best pizza I have ever had. I have been to all parts of Italy and Del Mar Pizza wins! I live in San Francisco and can't find anything that compares to Del Mar Pizza. It's a little place, but pizza is great and staff is friendly! There's an outside patio, but not much shade. Still, I got the 2 slice and drink special, upgraded to a glass of Rose! Not a bad place to sit for a bit feeling the cool ocean breezes and watching the world go by! read more

Solid pizza joint in the Del Mar area. If you're headed to the beach around lunchtime, this is as convenient as you're going to get. It's not a far walk from the beach so if you don't park by it, you can just walk up the street. It's decent NY style pizza and relative to what we can get in the San Diego area, it's a good option. As others have mentioned, the prices are a bit pricey which is why most, like myself, have dropped it one star down to 4. Staff is super friendly so tip them well! read more

We are staying at L'Auberge and we went to this place twice. The guys couldn't be nicer and the pizza was delish! I am trying to do more gluten free and not always crazy about it. This is by far the best quick, post-surf food option in this part of Del Mar. I'm always craving pizza when I get out of the water, and DMP usually satiates me with a slice or two. The dough is nice and thin with a pleasant balance of crispy crust and flavorful sauce. They're also actually one pizza joint I'd recommend dabbling in the specialty pies. Particularly the buffalo chicken which comes topped with avocado and cilantro. It's different, but definitely delicious. Their salads are also a great option if you want something a little lighter. They're served as a really large portion and the homemade Italian dressing on top is a notable highlight. It's a little pricey for what it is, but you can't really complain about that from a place that's this close to Powerhouse Park. Service is always fast and friendly so if you decide to do a Del Mar picnic, but forget your supplies, Del Mar Pizza will have you covered. read more

DO NOT GET SLICES here. Holy Moly what a rip off. I just got a slice of cheese here. 5 bucks. It was the size of my hand and barely any cheese or sauce. Stunningly lacking. I haven't had pizza here in years. I grew up on pizza from Del Mar pizza during my years growing up in Del Mar. It had always been a slice of heaven after a long day at the beach. This past week however I was house sitting in Del Mar and decided to order some. I asked for extra pizza sauce which was 3 dollars in addition to the pizza price. When it arrived it was beyond greasy and had almost half the sauce of what typically comes on a Del Mar pizza. Not sure why I was charged 3 dollars more for something that I never received, but to say the least it was a let down. read more

I work across the street and this is one of my go-to's for lunch! The Pizza is always nice and crisp, and the combo of 2 slices and a drink for 10 bucks isn't tooo bad either considering the quality and it does fill ya! It can get pretty busy during lunchtime during summer and especially on weekends but the wait is never too long and the guys workin upfront are always super chill. Whenever I have tourists ask me where is a good place to eat I always recommend this place read more

Had a late night White Pizza and it was ok...nothing special. This isn't New York however so i lowered my expectations beforehand. The crust/base of the pie was a little too dense for my liking but the ricotta was good. It's a fairly popular spot, I think because of its location and the outside seating. Again, it isn't great pizza but it's good enough and it fulfills that late night need. read more

I have lived in San Diego for about 7 years and Del Mar Pizza is hands down the best pizza in San Diego. My boyfriend and I order here once a week because we have never found a pizza place with fresher ingredients, tastier crust or a more savory sauce. In fact, Del Mar Pizza has ruined almost every other pizza place for me. If you do anything in San Diego at all, please stop here! You can have a beer on the patio, look out at the ocean and down some perfect pizza pie! Recommendations: Aloha Tony, Veggie (add Pepperoni and Sausage) There are gluten-free options. I have been to this amazing pizza place two times now. The pizza mouth watering. I am getting hungry right now while writing this review. So I will have to go get lunch today here. This second time I went I had a little friend come and eat with me check it out in my pics. If you want delicious mouth watering and satisfying pizza this is the place to go. It was good but the toppings were sparsely placed mostly on one side and it was a bit too much crust for me. I also tried bites of a chicken parm plate which was decent but nothing out of this world. It's fine for them to learn on the job, but there should be ONE experienced person around to teach them, and that didn't seem to be the case when we came on a Sunday evening. There were only two other tables eating when we came in and asked to be seated. The hostess said she would go check on a table and never came back. Ten minutes later someone else wandered by and we asked them and they seated us. The food quality seems to have gone downhill with the service. I ordered chicken parm and the chicken was tough and unappetizing and the sauce was watery and flavorless. The pizza that my husband ordered was pretty good though, seemed like their old recipe at least. I should try the bolognese that I used to like a lot to see if it's still good, but honestly the whole experience was so disappointing that I'm not in a hurry to go back and give them a second chance.

We have been fortunate enough to visit exceptional restaurants in several countries, including throughout Europe, as well as renowned five-star restaurants in Mexico. However, the service we received last night deserves special recognition. Our server, Brian O'Malley, executed every stage of service with a level of excellence that is difficult to find today. His attention was impeccable, professional, warm, and perfectly coordinated. He was always present at exactly the right moment without ever being intrusive, carefully attending to every detail and making us feel genuinely well cared for. The quality of the food was extraordinary, but Brian's hospitality elevated the entire experience to another level. At a time when people often speak only about the establishments themselves, I believe it is equally important to recognize the individuals who make it possible for an evening to become an unforgettable memory. Not complaining however, since it was a little chilly at buggy and our view was great. In one shot, we could get a super closeup view of the water, the Del Mar fair, the race track and a train going through! Where else are you going to see that? All in all an enjoyable time with good friends and good food. Valet parking only it seems. I parked on the street which is basically the same or more, so valet is worth it.

Despite their over-the-phone assurance prior to that visit that a particular menu item, Crab Stuffed Tiger Shrimp, was available, it was not. I wrote a Yelp review describing our experience that day and quickly got a very nice message (I assumed from management) expressing their desire to make things right but that response was taken down in less than 24 hours before I had a chance to reply. Fast forward to a couple days ago, August 3rd. A much-cherished friend and I had to be in the Del Mar area on 8/3, so a week before, I called them and asked if the stuffed shrimp shown on their menu was available and, if so, were there any time restrictions. The person I spoke to stated that it was available and could be ordered any time we came in. I was so happy to hear that after not being able to get it at the IB location. When we went to the Del Mar location on 8/3 in the afternoon, I tried to order it and was told by the server, who was not at all friendly, that the kitchen was closed until 5:00pm and that we could only order off the Oyster Bar menu. Note that the online hours don't state that the "kitchen" hours are different than the "Oyster Bar" hours. Perhaps that explains why the woman over the phone stated that the stuffed shrimp can be ordered at any time. If this is true, I respectfully suggest they update the hours shown online. Quite disappointing that once again despite reassurances, I was not able to order my favorite thing on the menu that's always available at the La Mesa and downtown San Diego locations (regardless of the time) AND is also on the IB and Del Mar menus. Our server on 8/3 was not the least bit welcoming but everyone else was nice. He came by quickly enough upon us selecting our table but didn't bother to welcome us even or introduce himself and after 15-20 seconds of uncomfortable silence, he finally just asked if we wanted something. To his credit he did bring us what we ordered (except the shrimp of course!) fast enough but after that walked by our table many times and only stopped by once when we flagged him down and once after that to tell us he was leaving and that Gabby would be taking over....maybe hoping that we would close out right then so as not needing to share his tip with her. We were not done yet, so Gabby did take over and she was terrific; and quite a contrast to the original server whose name I never got. I'm a South County resident so not at all likely to return to the Del Mar Brigantine in the future especially knowing the shrimp might not be available. My final comments...and sorry for being so "wordy" here is that the doors facing the racetrack were wide open which let in the very warm and humid air so the ambiance was not comfortable. The restaurant itself is pleasantly clean and beautifully decorated.
