MOST Del Tacos have lousy employees and/or lousy food preps, but NOT THIS location. Because of this I haven't eaten Del Taco in about a year. Some visiting relatives wanted Del Taco, so despite my personal disinterest, I stopped here with my wife on our way home. Luckily Ricardo was working that night. Ricardo (aka Richard) is a pro at working the register. He employs good customer service skills, showing that he recognizes that it is the customers that keep a business profitable (and its employees working). Ricardo is friendly, courteous, and KNOWLEDGEABLE about the menu. He demonstrated this to us when he made a few recommendations on a medium sized order we were placing. He pointed out that there were a few combos that would save us a few $. Del Taco may not appreciate an employee saving the customer money, but because we saved a little, we spent MORE that we saved by buying additional items from the menu. When we got the food to our destination, all of us agreed that the food was well made and tasty. I apologize that we not aware of who specifically made our food that night, but we do appreciate their good work. I came here at least once last year where they were closed despite listing as being "open 24 hours," but I chalked up the being closed thing to COVID. Tonight, though, was a bit worse: I drove all the way to this restaurant, pulled around to pull into the drive thru, and an employee was putting up the caution stands/cones that the store was now closed. At 11PM on a FRIDAY NIGHT. I ultimately ended up rolling down my window and pointing out that the store says "open 24 hours," and she just shrugged and said something about a shift ending and someone needing their 30 minute break. This is one of my favorite chains for very nostalgic reasons. This location is a little bit of a trek but the food is worth it for the nostalgic feel. The deals on the app also make meals here a pretty good deal :) The location however is lacking. There are numerous flies by the drink dispenser and the lids for fountain drinks are uncovered.. that can't be hygienic... Also the condiments were so messy and sloppy. They were out of straws. I rarely review of place, but this Del Taco is one of the best Del Tacos I've been to. The manager is one of the best managers I've seen at a fast food place. Donay is one of the best managers, she's friendly, her people are very attentive, and she is one of the hardest-working managers I've seen at any fast food restaurant. In a rare instance, a very angry customer challenged her, he know he was wrong but did it anyways intimidating her, I watched as she was cordial but firm. He left in a huff but Donay was up for the task! A week later she had her staff working hard and helped out by cleaning the dining area herself! My roommate and I were craving a cone. We have gone to different locations that serve vanilla cones and so we just thought that all locations sell them. So we decided to go to this location and the guy working late at night has a dry ass attitude. I told him I would like a vanilla cone and he said "you're going to have to go to McDonalds for that because we don't sell vanilla cones. We don't sell ice cream". He said it with such attitude and it left a bad taste mouth. He repeated that twice almost like in a mocking manner. He could have said "I'm sorry but we don't sell cones." That's it. This Del Taco used to be my go to location in Burbank but after yet another bad experience (my fourth in as many times), I wont be going to this one anymore. Iusually have to order EVERYTHING on the menu with extra cheese because they barely put any cheese on anything especially their "Cheese Quesadillas", i got home from hitting the drive thru after work and there was NO extra cheese in my tacos as I order and was charged $0.50 per each taco for extra cheese and even worst my Nacho "CHEESE" Fries (which cost $3.09) had only small drizzles of cheese on them. I got in at 10:50pm, starving. Del Taco next to the Burbank Airport is listed as open 24 hrs. Placed and paid for an order, which I was told would be ready at 11pm. Problem? THE RESTAURANT IS F-ING CLOSED. The sign says open 24 hours, yet there was a yellow come blocking the drive-through and the lace was locked up tight. Called the "call for help" number; no one answered. So I called when they opened just now. The person answering the phone said, "it wasn't open?" Then she kept me waiting on the phone 20 minutes only to tell me all she could do was "remake" my order. Tacos at 7am? No. Are you kidding me? Then she refused to refund my money. The Del Taco was by far our favorite....So simple, yet so scrumptious. The taco-layering/presentation was pure perfection - neat & organized. A rare find at a fast food spot. We couldn't believe how much ground beef was in each taco. The portion was very generous. The quality was impressive too. The beef had actual crumbles in it. It wasn't meat paste. Everything tasted fresh and delicious - the crunchy shell, the cheese, the crisp lettuce, the plump tomatoes. We ate our order in the parking lot and had to drive back through for a second round. Obviously, it was a hit with our group. Also, shout-out to the drive-thru employee who helped us because we were so disorganized since it was our first time visiting a Del Taco. I used the drive thru here today and as soon as I parked to eat my lunch it was all half wrapped with the ingredients spilling into the bag . Every single item as if it was intentional. This Del Taco is awesome. I usually go drive thru and they are very quick with their service and the food comes out great for such an affordable option. The employees are usually great and i haven't had much complaints. They have free wifi when you dine in, which is awesome. Its at a great location, especially for those at the airport. But, its great for those passing by as well. I usually go for the dollar and under value menu which is filling for affordability. They always have some sort of special and deals going on so make sure you ask what they are. I've never had issues but I usually buy their chicken soft taco combo. Drinks are usually carbonated with plenty of syrup. PROPERTY Usually clean and organized (in & outside), especially the woman's bathroom. Except it omits a sewage smell that they haven't really fixed all these years. Ever since they took my Del Taco away on Verdugo I've had to come here. I've had, for the most part, good experiences here. However, tonight? Not so much. I'm in the middle of packing and moving during a very stressful time in my life. I drove 10+ minutes to get there and get myself something quick to eat. I ordered my usual, a Chicken Spicy Jack Quesadilla. We even confirmed my order a couple times over. I hadn't had one in forever so I was stoked to get one. I pay for my food & drink ($8 and some change) and drove 10+ minutes home. Now, I trust that most times people will get my order correct. Every now and then there is a slip up and I can look past it but nah, not tonight. Tonight I get home, excited to eat my quesadilla and upon opening it was a nightmare. My quesadilla was OPENED because it wouldn't even stick together. They literally threw in cheddar cheese, shit ton of dry chicken, and jalapeños to call it a spicy jack chicken quesadilla. Of course I'm also PMSing and want to cry because it's just awful. So there goes my food, and my $8, to waste. So now I'm starving and decided to order another one off of GrubHub and spent another $8. Like ya girl is moving, I can't be spending all this money. Still waiting for my new quesadilla. I've worked in drive thru... no reason for for them to have taken so long. It's appalling I love del taco but won't be coming to this location any time soon. Today I called the girl who works there and she said they are changing the French fry grease and that they will open at 2:30am. After waiting an hour I went and they were closed.
