The Vibe: This spot sits in a strip center near the airport, so there's not a ton of atmosphere -- it does feel a little sterile, to be honest. That said, it was spotless, which I really appreciate when traveling. Service: Service was exactly what I expected: friendly, efficient, and no fuss. You order at the counter, grab a number, and they bring the food out to your table. Nothing particularly memorable, but also nothing to complain about -- just smooth and easy, which was exactly what I wanted after a flight. Food & Drinks: I went with the Salmon Bowl over brown rice and added the Sumi Salad on the side. The presentation was clean, and everything tasted fresh, though the flavors were pretty mild. The teriyaki sauce was standard, and the Sumi Salad -- while crisp -- didn't have much personality beyond the crunch. (It's cabbage, carrots, green onions, almonds, sesame seeds, and crispy noodles with their house dressing.) The brown rice was fine, and I stuck with water since I was rehydrating post-flight. I've been here a few times for a quick lunch. I had a decent meal at SanSai Japanese Grill and would rate it a solid 4/5. I ordered the Chicken Bowl with a Kale Salad, and while the salad was fresh, crunchy, and had a nice balance of flavors, the chicken left a bit to be desired. It was tender but lacked seasoning, making it feel a little bland. A bit more sauce or spice would've made a big difference. I also tried the California Roll, which was fresh but unfortunately pretty dull. It didn't have much flavor and felt like it was missing that extra something to make it stand out. This SanSai location is right beside Burbank Airport. Literally the next lot, so be mindful when driving here because you might pass it or make a mistake driving into the Airport traffic. Plenty of free parking here shared with several restaurants & businesses. Service was friendly when ordering at the counter. But really no interaction after that. Only when your order is ready, you get your food from the them. Plenty of seating, although our table we chose was a tad sticky & bench seating had a slight stench. Other than that... I give them 3 1/2 Stars, rounded up to 4. It was nice to have a quick dinner here w/ my +1 before my flight on a Friday night. It's a convenient location overall & other places nearby. But the rest was absolutely- meh I got the steak yakisoba noodles with the oriental salad; the steak was overcooked & the yakisoba noodles had a spice I didn't particularly like & it overpowered the dish, then the oriental salad had zero flavor! How can something that supposedly has sesame oil in it be flavorless? But it was. I paid over $25 (including a $2 tip) for completely less than mediocre food, I'm so bummed! read more

I'm familiar with the San Sai on Rosecrans near El Segundo/Manhattan Beach. Their menu has a lot more variety & better selection of salads IYKYY.Honestly the food lacked flavor. I ordered a crispy rice and then two sushi rolls. They were just average not anything special honestly just wasn't that good I probably won't be back but at least now I know that all of these are not the same. Came back for more before heading to the City that never sleeps...Love this place. We had the Steak plate, the Chicken plate and a Cheeto roll and Tiger roll. Update a year later! Back here for another conference and came back here for lunch...happy to report they have reusable plates & bowls, yay! Tried out the salmon bowl Cajun style, so it wasn't saucy, so not recommended if you like sauce on your food! Great service. I was at a convention at the LA Marriot Burbank airport and afterwards, my friends wanted to eat somewhere walking distance. This came up as an option, and we all walked over. It was near closing (which I didn't realize until later), but they didn't treat us any differently, and they didn't rush us at all. Even at the end, when they were closed, they let me use the bathroom right before we left. I'm not sure if it's because it was near closing or not, or they always do this, but we ordered multiple of the Family Packs so that all of us would have enough food. The portion sizes were large and I'm pretty sure they gave us a lot of extra rice. They even let us eat there, even though these are typically take-out orders only. The Potstickers were good, and it seemed like everyone liked them. The chicken and veggies were alright. They had a nice variety of chicken and veggies included. The California roll was just okay. A cute spot to grab lunch or an easy dinner. I ordered on the self service kiosk i which was nice since I was able to look through all the options and take my time. The staff seemed nice and my food didn't take long to come out. The pork potstickers have a nice crunch on the exterior and have a gentle spice to them that's very subtle but noticeable enough to add a depth of flavor. The Red Bull roll had carrot which I thought was an interesting and added a harder crunch factor. I did end up taking the carrot out of most of the roll. The three types of protein, shrimp, crab, and spicy tuna make a a mouth full of fun flavors. Something creamy like avocado or cream cheese would have been a nice addition. I'm convinced they started only because I went up there. The poke nacho could have been delicious but the they seriously ruined it with far too much aioli and eel sauce. It was so salty, half the chips were inedible. It would have been great because the 'chips' were fried wonton skins that created a light and airy but very crispy texture. If this place wasn't so far I'd eat here way more frequently! This was convenient when we flew out of the Burbank airport and we're hungry. Being that Burbank is a smaller airport there isn't restaurants like the ones they have in LAX. But if you have time before or even after you land I'd walk (if you can) towards the front of the airport and you'll see different restaurants in a lot. We chose this place because I'm familiar with their menu and I prefer real food than McDonald's (sorry not sorry)m Anyways! The staff was awesome and the place was so clean! I can honestly say that I am not a fan of SanSai, but my recent visit was a pleasant one. My mother knew that I was watching my food intake and she suggested that we go out and have something healthy. I asked her what she had in mind. My initial thought was a no, but at the same time, she doesn't go out much so we went. While browsing the menu she wanted the sushi & roll combo while I picked their spicy sashimi salad. The sushi and roll combo was perfect for her as it came with soup and a small salad. I do like the options of fish they offer. This combo comes with four nigiri and gives you five choices to choose from. My spicy sashimi salad was huge! My brother wanted to eat at the fish location next door, but the menu for this place sounded more appealing. They had kiosks (a.k.a big iPad looking tablets) to order food from inside and some tables outside for outdoor dining. The interface for the kiosk was pretty nice and most of the food listed on the menu had pictures, which helped with ordering compared to the paper menu we were looking at outside the restaurant. We can need up splitting the poke nachos, spicy tempura roll, and spring rolls. We sat at a table next to the restaurant and did not have to wait too long. All the food looked really good when opening up the different containers and definitely was enough food for the both of us. My favorite was the poke nachos between the three.
