If I'm being honest, I not the biggest fan of Del Taco. I've tried quite a few things from there and nothing ever screams "amazing" to me. But at the same time, this is a fast food place so I shouldn't expect amazing. First, I'm not a big fan of their grilled chicken. It's way too peppery and tastes like rubber. Since I don't like the chicken, I don't get the chicken quesadilla anymore, I get the spicy jack quesadilla. This quesadilla is very basic, just tortilla and pepperjack cheese. I've had the spicy jack quesadilla quite a few times from different locations and this location for some reason always gives you the least amount of cheese. I swear, half the quesadilla always ends up being cheese less. The cheese dip is good though! It's a spicy cheese and instead of a nacho cheese it's more of like a spicy queso. I always dip the cheese in my spicy jack quesadilla. Overall, you came here expect anything amazing from fast food. Del Taco is okay in my opinion, but it's definitely not my first choice. read more

Who doesn't love Del Taco? Especially when you get some quick service during the business lunch rush and a decent meal! I come in here more often than I should while I'm working, but I love Del Taco's creative menu of not only getting some great tacos or quesadillas but you also get fries too. So after an underwhelming meal last time, the manager reached out and wanted a chance to make it up to me. So I took them up on their offer and they gave me 2 combo meals of my choice. So I decided to do the fish tacos like last time and the grilled chicken tacos, both orders came with fries and drink. I must say this meal was a vast improvement from last time. This place is great for fast food Mexican. My California hubby used to come here all the time back home and this is the only place in the area to feed his food cravings for fast food tacos. Now if they would build an El Pollo Loco and an In N Out out here he would be exponentially happier but this manages to soothe him somewhat. He is a spicy chicken burrito guy. It is his top item here. I prefer the crispy fish tacos with the crunchy cabbage, pico and secret sauce all wrapped up in corn tortillas with a wedge of lime, small size but lots of flavor. We also both like the big fat chicken tacos with the ancho chile sauce on pillowy flat bread but not as much. The tacos del carbon are decent but also small and street taco sized, if you get them though ask for some lime and extra cilantro. I've never been with James when he has eaten a burger here but he claims he does and that they are good. I skip the fries and get the chips with pico or guac instead if I am combo-ing but James loves the fries. You also might want to try the crispy fried jalapeno rings with the secret sauce for something different. James likes the steak burritos for breakfast and also recommends the bacon and egg quesadilla with his fave green sauce. James likes the strawberry shakes here but I never get any dessert. The new caramel cheesecake bites are tempting me though. All in all way better than Taco Bell and a nice surprise for fast food. read more

I like the cheaper items like 3 Tacos for $1.29 on Tuesdays or three chicken Tacos for $2.49 on Thursday as a start. I then add whatever they have on special like a delicious fish taco for free with purchase of a beverage if you like them on Facebook. I have had their fresh fries, nachos, and 5 layer burrito which were all good. Walk out satisfied for under $5. 2) Food is inexpensive - see point 1 3) Owners care about community and do a lot for several local charities! This is something that Lori the General Manager is passionate about - she lit up when talking to my about a animal shelter charity they were promoting. 4) Place is clean or being cleaned constantly. 5) Free wifi! Typically our food is fresh, hot, and tastes good. I've always had great service in the store and in drive thru. They are one of the few fast food places who don't screw up our order somehow. Prices are more than Taco Bell, but their menu items are fresher. The beans and fries are worth the extra price. I love their chicken, carnitas (when available), veggie burritos, and turkey meat. It doesn't matter if there are 20 people in line or if it's just me, they are always on their game. So as much as I love Del Taco, I only love them for their tacos. These are seriously some of the best tacos I've ever had. The shell is good and crunchy and I swear it has some sort of anti-soggy technology because they're still crunchy even after making the trip back home. And they are covered in cheese! When I say covered I mean covered. I'm not talking about just a sprinkle of cheese to garnish up top, these tacos are mostly/only cheese. It's like all the space you'd normally expect to be taken up by lettuce, is all cheese! The lettuce and tomato are there don't get me wrong but you don't even care (well I don't) because of the mountain of cheese that's just so graciously piled on. Being the only Del Taco in the area, it is always a treat when we are heading north on Telegraph. While it is your standard fast food Mexican type establishment, it is a step up from Taco Bell. The staff has always been friendly and overall the building is clean. They even play "Mexican" music in the background to add to the experience.
