I really appreciate how late this location stays open, including their diningroom! The team is friendly and the food is consistently prepared to order. The dining area is not the cleanest, with uncleaned tables usually around, but you can usually find a clean table. I've been to this location several times and generally have enjoyed a good meal. And this most recent occasion I tried to place an order through the app and I couldn't get it to go through. I wasn't far so I just hit the drive-through and placed my order quickly And then drove up to pay for it. They had it completely ready by the time I got to the window so I paid and they had me on my way. I was better than halfway to my destination when I realized I didn't get any hot sauce with my order. I hadn't asked for any, but they failed to ask if I wanted any. I'm used to always being asked when I go to their restaurants. I've even had them put stuff in without my asking. This made for a very disappointing meal for me. I had gotten a big box with the beef and bean burrito, no beans, a chicken taco with no special sauce and a snack taco and small quesadilla. Generally, it's a pretty good deal for the price. Without any hot sauce, it turned into a very disappointing meal. both tacos were very majorly filled which surprised me as I have had this box before a couple of times and they were more generous with the fillings. The burrito and quesadilla were as expected. My biggest complaint I guess is that it was all pretty flavorless without any salsa I have pretty much always enjoyed Del Taco over other fast food Mexican places. I'm a bit disappointed that I'm learning that what I like most about. It is the hot sauce. I will still eat their food, but I will have to be more careful when I order as ever since they went more AI and with the kiosks to order inside it's now much more difficult to customize orders and you can't always get a human being to help you. They are not the only place to put AI first and customers second. If you just want a generic as it comes meal, then it probably doesn't matter but if you like anything a certain way, it's not a chore to get it done the way you want it. And now apparently their customer service is lagging a bit. Hopefully they will work to improve thingsor I will have to find someplace else to get my tacos. read more

I love del taco and this on colonial is in this one is in the perfect location for me i always pass it. I hadn't been able to stop it until now since they opened. I got the two crunchy tacos and fries its my goto and hasn't let me down yet. But no del taco has so far lol its clean and very chill for a fast food taco place . Could not believe the poor customer service here. Never have I been to such a terrible Del Taco joint! I ordered online with my Del Taco app and I walked in with no one in line ready to pick up my order. Waited a good few minutes before someone working there was near me, thinking I would get some service or acknowledgement of my presence there - NOPE. I was standing in front of hot sauce station right by the registers and the woman working was more concerned about stuffing the already full hot sauce container with more hot sauce! So I had to say something because she never ever acknowledged me even with me standing there quietly. I asked to pick up my online order and she told me that I could pick it up in their outside locker. I don't know about what this outside locker was all about and was already inside the building before even seeing any email about this locker to pick up my food so I asked if she could just pass me my food since I was already standing right in front of her inside the building already. She was standing right next to locker and asked for my name, I gave it to her and she opened the locker, looked at the bag with my name on it and closed the locker door. I was thinking it was mine since it was the only one in there. She asked my name again and she opened the locker again, got my order and finally passed it to me. This all took way longer than the necessary time that has passed I left, drove away and then checked my order and saw that they didn't even give me any napkins for my handheld items so I had to drive all the way back, go back inside and had to grab them by the drinks station. Why wouldn't they pack my order with napkins? I get it if they're trying to be cheap and not pass out napkins with an order but omg, I got a messy taco and a tostada. I think it's just basic knowledge that if I have food that requires my hands to touch it and the food item is bigger than my mouth where I need to take bites and wipe my mouth afterwards that it should require some darn napkins automatically... or am I asking for too much?!? The food tasted like it should have and was the expected standard level but the level of customer service from this place was disgusting! read more

Says it opens at 7:00am everyday, 7:50am, not open, workers inside, no acknowledgement to say "we have an issue", if that was the case. Poorly run. No sign on the door to say something is special or wrong. Terrible, drove 20 minutes to get here because I am a fan from SoCal who lives here now. read more

I really enjoyed a bean burrito with green sauce. I found a few whole beans. Their beans are fresh, made daily. Green sauce is best I think. Got my dog I ordered a mini cheddar quesadilla. Their prices are great. The outside is really cute with hanging lights. read more

5 Stars for one of my favorite fast food chains! First, the staff was friendly and welcoming. None of that "Oh, you're bothering me" attitude that you see at some places. The chicken soft tacos were made nicely with the ingredients evenly dispersed throughout. And no big mouthfuls of sauce on one end and nothing on the other end. I wish everyone would make it like they're going to eat it! And the Thursday evening deal makes them just over a buck a piece when you buy 3. The 3 Layer Nachos I ordered were loaded with delicious beans that were the perfect consistency. Nothing worse that beans that are dry AF or runny AF. These were baby bear beans - just right! The new store was clean and everything was great. I just wish they'd wrap their cutlery in plastic wrap. Loose unwrapped forks seem a bit sketchy! That's more of a corporate thing though than this location! Keep up the good work and I hope not to be disappointed on my next 57 visits! read more

Happy to have this chain on our side of town. They opened not too long ago now and stay relatively busy. It's a standard energy for a fast food place. Think booths and tables for self seating, order at counter, bus your own table. I love being able to get fries with tacos and the fried caramel cheesecake bites are a must. I've enjoyed Del Taco since we first discovered it in Yermo, CA. Even though they have numerous locations throughout the USA, I've never been disappointed with the quality of food and taste. Some locations have slow service, but nothing to worry about. We love the combination burritos! I usually ask for one with red sauce, and one with green sauce. Delicious! And those two fill me up with no room to spare. If I'm not looking for a big meal, I'll order a bean and cheese burrito with green sauce, and add a Del Taco. I love their tacos, but I think they add too much cheese--my wife disagrees. I'm always delighted when I'm traveling and see a Del Taco at the next exit. Absolutely an amazing fast food Mexican place. 100% better than Taco Bell. I love the green burritos and the double del cheeseburger is an experience!!! The crinkle cut fries are top notch the hot sauce packets are also a game changer from mild to del schorcho the del beef combo burritos were great. Service is fast friendly and the place is clean. If you enjoy tacos go ahead and get the"Del Taco" it's loaded with meat and lettuce cheese and topped with diced tomatoes. Try it you'll thank yourself. read more

While the food and service at Del Taco, Colonialtown has always been above average for fast food, tonight's dining experience was probably the worst I had. There was only one table available for paying customers tonight because the others were taken up by homeless people using the outlets to charge their electronic devices. Staff didnt seem to even care. One homeless person appeared to have a small animal, like possibly a ferret or bunny in its backpack. I think management needs to nip this in the bud before it gets completely out of hand. read more

It is sent to E colonial...more than a 30 minute and has now taken 90 minutes to still not be delivered. So both Uber Eats and Del Taco policies suck and I am going to be late to a chemo appointment. They were great & seemed promising the first month after opening, but quality has nosedived -- the last few times i've gone, the burritos were half cold -- not room temperature, but cold, as if they only bothered reheating half of it. If you're going for fast food anyway, you may as well save your disappointment and continue down the road to the nearby Taco Bell. read more

This is a great fast food place. We ate here the first time on 9/2/24 and everything was delicious. The restaurant was clean, the employees very friendly, I even saw an employee helping a wheelchair bound customer fill their drink cup and assist them in retrieving their order. Ordered online. Said ready in 4 minutes. Arrive 10 minutes later. 6 employees. Nobody in the drive through only three persons already eating in store. I stand for 4 minutes by register as employees walk past, look at cell phone, even talk about how boring it can be there "especially" when there is nothing to do. Finally what I presume was the manager turns around and greets me. Very pleasant and says it'll be ready soon. After he talks to me then the other employees start to talk to me. Every single one of the could hear our conversation. I tell the first girl no I'm just waiting for an online order. The second girl I told the same. She heard me say the same thing 3 times? Is this the twilight zone? Is everyone on cannabis? Everyone seems nice and pleasant but just do not give a shot and no sense of urgency. The nachos were clumped together. About 7"Packages" of nachos burned on the outside uncooked in the middle covered in toppings is what i got. You are supposed to break up the raw nachos BEFORE they go in the fryer. 2 of the The corn tortillas were undercooked and crumbled when you try to pick them up. Completely uselessly as a hand held taco and just ate the filling w. A fork because, again, the tortilla was raw. Shame el pastor was good. Fish taco was soggy not crispy. This was in no way due to the time it stayed wrapped. Just made by someone who doesn't care. Or the temp on that fryer was low. 0/10. Will not be back.
