Haters gonna hate. That's what's happening here. We are a busy family, so sometimes we have to grab food on the way home from stuff (baseball, basketball, baseball, other stuff, baseball), you know how it is. Well, one day (apprx a couple of weeks ago), I stopped by the Del on the way home (from baseball) and picked up a family meal. My non-Mexican husband and less Mexican offspring cannot handle the spices, so we go green sauce on the burritos. Well, this place made our complete order wrong. You guessed it, they went red instead of green. Instead of just giving me the wrong order, they let me know about their mistake. They (manager named: Fifi) owned up to it. I wasn't in a huge hurry, so I was fine with waiting for the correct order. Not only did they make it right, they gave me the wrong order AND gave me a grip (accurate mathematical term for 4+) of free churros. It was awesome. I came home with double the burritos and sweet sweet churro goodness. Thank you Fifi. Thank you for not screwing me in the drive-thru and thanks for the extra grub. read more

Get the chicken soft tacos if you've never been because they are so good. I find they are better then Taco Bell. Its your classic Fast Food Mexican. I find that it has a great flavor. Nice varitey of thins in it. This tehachapi del taco can be a little slow mostly because they have all the highschoolers and very new to it. But the food is still tasty. I recommend the chicken soft tacos or macho nachos or taco salad these are all good choices. Though most everything they have is tasty. Though i am not a major fan of their shredded beef and chicken it can be a little stringy in the texture (like was frozen to long) read more

This place is horrible!!!! I live in TEHACHAPI and I've been here a handful of times only because I keep trying to convince myself that they can't really be that bad all the time...I tell myself that they must have just bad day and that's not normally how they run their business...but each time I quickly discover that I am painfully mistaken! I will NEVER go there again!!! TERRIBLE customer service, each time I go to the drive through it takes no less than 20 minutes even if I'm the only one in line, they can't seem to remember your order and make you repeat yourself multiple times, the list goes on and on! How are they still in business!?!?! I actually was asked to back up in the drive-through so the "drive-thru clock" wouldn't officially start because they knew they'd get in trouble for taking so long. I have to put my car in park each time I go there because it takes SO LONG! And I've been told multiple times that their soda machine doesn't work, they're out of cheese, they don't have large cups, etc. They never seem to be prepared. They are in desperate need of leadership. It's insulting how bad they are. Please do yourself a favor and keep on driving. read more

I ordered a spicy chicken burrito and I may as well have just ordered a been I. And cheese and rice burrito. The chicken was almost nonexistent! The place may have been under staffed because everyone looked busy but, the dining room was not clean. Restroom was okay. read more

Terrible! I am not one going into a fast food place expecting a 5 star chef to prepare my food but this place even killed it for a fast food- and by kill I do not mean it in a good way. My fries, which were ordered a size medium came out a size small and were cold and stale- not even warm from the warming tray. The street tacos were warm, but I ordered three of the same taco but would've never known that when you opened them- two had avocado, one didn't, all had pico but only one had cilantro, and all three were doused in their "hot sauce". To finish it up we got a large cherry coke that is so watered down it looks like weak ice tea, and full of soda water (I'm assuming the soda needed changed), either way it was nasty. Normally I don't bag on fast food, because it's fast food, but every time I go here it's gets worse. Will not return. You people need to try harder- I can't believe you are going to make $15 an hour read more

We came through Tehachapi with a group traveling from WA... This isn't the first time we've traveled with our group to this Del Taco. The other times we'd had come through during grave yard shifts. The graveyard service and food we had no problem with. I've gotta say I gave it a 1 star because the food was normal Del Taco food, with the exception of the under cooked French Fries. The reason for the bad review is for the shortness from the counter help. When I bring my family in I expect friendly service. I understand you may hate your jobs. But that's no reason to take it out on your customers. The language used by the employee was poor English, like she was a "gang member". She wasn't just rude to us Infront of our kids. She was very disrespectful and rude to the other employees as well. I usually will handle these kinds of complaints in person w a supervisor or manager. Unfortunately I couldn't do this in this circumstance. Because the female causing the negative vibes and using curse words at the employees was the GM or Manager. When I'd asked to speak w the manager, she said that she was. I hope who ever is above her reads this review and responds. As well as takes action against the GM/Manager we all watched curse and act with aggression towards the employees. I handed my Business card to one of the employees because I felt so bad for them, because I'm an attorney. I also hope the rest of my group leaves reviews as well. They all felt as uncomfortable as my family did. read more

Clean Del Taco. Employees are very friendly. They load up the tacos and buritos. Always generous with the condiments.

Visited this del taco on June 28th at around 130pm. It wasn't very busy inside the store, but drive thru was pretty busy which made a longer wait time in the dining area. I waited a good 15-20 minutes before I got my 2 #1s and 2 kids meals. The food was delicious, but wish it would have been a little quicker. read more

This Del Taco is super slow. It takes about 30-60 min to get your order and then the food is thrown together. The staff is rude and doesn't care about customers. read more

this is the worst del taco ever drive is real slow the workers and owners are rude.I wanted to add some cinnamon sticks and was told and go throught the drive through and they cant add anything on at the. like am going to wait twenty minues. maybe get some white popele hired and the new owners dont car. read more

This is the second time I have gotten a cold egg and cheese burrito . The tea was old, I had to ask for fresh (this is all at 8am in the morning). They got the order wrong and charged me 30 cents to much. Looks like they need to change to morning staff!!! read more

Almost every Del Taco I've gone to has been just great, until this one. I order my food no problem and go to get my drink I look over and notice that not one of the workers has any gloves on while handling the food. then if that wasn't bad enough they handed an order to a homeless man who ran his hand through the food and began eating it before they told him " oh wait that wasn't your order" and grabbed it and handed it off to the customer in the drive through. It took them an HOUR to make me two soft tacos, but that doesn't even matter since I was too disgusted to even try their food. This place should be shut down. read more

i love me some Del Taco! this one was way off the beaten path of HWY 58, but oh well. they made the best Del Taco quesadillas i've ever eaten! yummy yum yum. when we entered, my hubby felt uncomfortable because everyone stared at him like an alien from Oregon. they were slow, so i forgave them. read more

The food is good, the service is usually OK, but the timing is consistently horrible. They're always understaffed, which means the service is always Veeerrrrryyyyy ssslllloooooowwww... most of the time though, the food is worth the wait. read more

Went to eat there on 4/23 and have always loved the food as well as the staff. The tacos are to die for and are such a bang for your buck up until yesterday. Yesterday I went in and someone new was wearing the black manager shirt and was extremely rude to me. After finally being able to order (I was the only one in the room and no one was outside) she finally walked up and took my order. She didn't say a single word to me and once I asked what was wrong she told me it was none of my business. Honestly I don't care but that isn't how you act to you're customers. She then made my tacos as poorly as possible and set them on the counter. Rudest experience I've had and don't feel welcome like I once was. read more
