I wouldn't ordinarily review a fast food place, you get what you get and shouldn't expect more. However, this place took 40 minutes to get us our order and the worker was snarky when we asked about our food. Turns out they let another patron grab our order. Awkward and a total waste of time. Not what you're looking for from a quick stop. They service the drive thru quickly though. read more

When ever we travel we make sure we stop here because we don't have Del Taco in Montana. Love their tostadas and the double del burgers which are surprisingly delicious for a taco joint. If you haven't tried one I highly recommend them. The only negative is this Del taco is not the cleanest they can do better. read more

Waiting at the speaker in the drive through for over 10min, after they said one moment, so decided it was easier to park and go in (no hate really because it's only 2 employees) CORPORATE needs to update this restaurant in general. Definitely their appliances, give it a deep clean and probably give these 2 ladies raises for doing it themselves. Oh wait I think a manager (green shirt) just popped out of the side room laughing and pointing out an alarm thing that was beeping and went back into the side room, not being helpful what so ever to the rush of people. So these 2 ladies a blonde and an older brown haired woman that's the reason for the 5 star the lower ones are due to the neglect from CORPORATE and the lack of staff. Worst Del Taco I've ever been to. Slow service (waited 20 minutes behind 1 car over looking an empty dining room). I tried it a few times (I guess I'm a slow learner), food has either not been what I ordered, they forgot to give me something I've ordered or now, waited 20 minutes for 1 item. The staff left drinks out where multiple customers walked past and over them. Because of the uncleanness, I could not bring myself to eat most of the food or drink the soda. When we asked if we could take the drinks since they had been sitting there, the workers refused and were very rude. They also forgot to add the second taco to our order, and when we brought it up, they refused to correct it and insisted their count was right. Ive had zero issues with this del taco. The food is always hot and fresh. I've never had a bad order. The staff have always been friendly, never rude. The wait can be long, but as you should know, they cook as needed. They're not like McDonald's that stacks cooked pattie's that wait for hours on a hot rack to be used. The wait is still shorter than a sit down restaurant. Friends daughter used to work there and said they are not 24/7 because no one will work graveyard. I remember at one point they closed at 9. I know this fluctuates depending on staff. I see people taking away stars because the voice box is broken... it happens. They can't get it fixed the second it happens, they have to find some one to repair it. This town is becoming less compassionate by the minute. I wish I could give negative stars! I placed an online order, went inside to pick it up. The lady at the front, Jackie, told me that they were out of ground beef. How does that happen? She then tells me she can't give me chicken because it's more expensive and I didn't pay for that. She sure was willing to give me a cheaper bean burrito though. You would think the cost of chicken came out of her pocket! I told her I'm not taking beans in place of meat and she said "Well, I guess we're at an impasse". She also refused to refund my money because I paid on the app, as if the store doesn't receive the money from in app purchases. None of what happened was my fault but they will treat you as if it was. The only helpful person there was a younger guy, I didn't get his name. This place needs to be shut down and Jackie needs to not have interactions with customers. This isn't the first time they have been out of food when I ordered, Jackie admitted that the owner doesn't keep the supplies properly stocked and that they run out of food all the time. My review and tips are gone?? Not sure how that happened. Years ago we would eat here with little to no problems. As time went on this place became worse and worse. Which reflected the grade on the window. I do vividly remember the last time we ate here and we said that is it! We ordered chicken tacos and burritos and literally there was two pieces of dry leathered chicken in one of them. The others maybe 3-4 pieces. The tacos had a sour taste, not sure what was going on there. My ice tea also had a funky taste. It was old tasting and off. That was the last time we ate here. That was years ago. My tip that was removed said "listen to the reviews they are true" I am not sure what the grade on the window is today, I would check before you eat here, also take the time to read the reviews. read more

Just went through today, and had a good experience after a number of failures. If any of the franchise owners are taking note of these reviews: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, model your customer service given by your employees after Jackie. I pulled up to the drive-thru menu today, was greeted, given order taker's name, and asked what can be ordered/made to order. I gave my order, it was repeated, and closed with the total due at the window. From there, Jackie greeted me and asked how my day was going - which, for me prompts to ask the same in return typically. Of course before leaving, Jackie asked if hot sauce was needed, and if I wanted my receipt. Napkin(s) we're in the bag. Bam! That's how it should be done. All within less than five minutes. Not ten to fifteen, and not 20+ minutes to include waiting in line. By previous experiences, and similar reviews herein I would agree this is typically your average one star business. Simple the tortillas were stale and hard, the Tea was old and sour, the employee was even worse than the food. She was rude making up things calling them Health Laws, like I cant take the bad food and drinks back its against health law. NOT. But not washing your hands certainly is, maybe you need to wash everytime you leave the prep area when you return. Wash the Tea Container out between batches, throw away the old dried out tortillas. The girl who helped me was in the middle of changing the trash bags in the lobby and after she was done I watched her go back behind the counter to go bag a drive-through customers food with the same gloves she was wearing when changing the trash. Then she proceeded to help me with my transaction with the same gloves. Highly unsanitary, get it together. Thank God I only got a drink cuz otherwise I would have walked out. Ordered my food at 6:03. Arrived to the drive thru at 6:24. I was told that there is no cook working so they are not making food. Are you serious? They had my number from the mobile app so they could have let me know that their restaurant was unable to make food. I never had a problem with the food at this location. The reason why I give it three stars is because of the customer service. The customer service is hit or miss. Sometimes it's good, sometimes not; depending on who you are dealing with. I've also had issues with my orders not always being processed correctly. Recently ordered an epic loaded queso burrito and ended up with an epic fresh guacamole burrito. Also, wait times can be a bit long. I am a bit disappointed because other fast food locations in this town have better service. Also, I've had more pleasant experiences at other Del Taco locations like the ones in Ridgecrest and Simi Valley. I do hope they hire better quality employees in the future. read more

If the option existed to give 0 stars, I would... however, like the other 101 reviews ahead of mine, this place is the worst Del Taco in the state of California. The only thing fast about this place is the diarrhea you'll get after eating here. It took over 20 minutes to get the food that I ordered in the dining room. Silly me thought with zero cars in the drive thru, it would be fast to go in... wrong. I witnessed an employee lock the door and turn customers away from the dining room at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Upon my exit, there were 30 cars in the drive thru. I tried to warn drive thru patrons to go anywhere else, they didn't listen. Do yourself a favor..... drive to Barstow, or anywhere in the state of California before ordering food at the tehachapi del taco, you'll get your food faster. We came by for dinner and had some coupons to use. The coupons specify that you can only use one per order so we went inside to order separately. We were wearing our masks and standing there for a couple of minutes before somebody behind the counter said that we could only go through the drive-thru. No sign. No locked door. How were we supposed to know? Now we are stuck behind cars we would not have been stuck behind otherwise. And not sure about the coupons. Turns out they let us use the two coupons we had so we saved $6. Alright. I still had to get gas and get home so the food was not as hot and fresh as it could have been. Not terrible though. Juat awful!! Food and staff. Came here as we are travelling to visit family. The lady refused to come to the front to greet us just yelled from the register at the drive thru window. She was very condescending. We got our food and the nachos were missing all the toppings but cheese and beans. She apologized and they threw a few tomatoes and jalepenos and handed us a cup of sour cream. It was literally like 5 jalapeno slices and when we asked for a little more she said we had to pay for them. My daughter had hair in her food and the other had undercooked fries. Then as we sat there with our garbage food the lady yelled at the staff and there started complaining how other people make more money than her. I'm done with del taco. Loved their fish tacos but lately they are very hit and miss and mostly miss, either cold or overcooked. Went last night and ordered and we got fish taco and all it was was the breading, horrible. The other one was so tough could hardly bite into it.
