    My masterpiece of a taco
    Monster X.

Good fast affordable with good customer service. Don't know if I'll ever go back to the area but if I do and I want a taco, I'll go here.

Waiting at the speaker in the drive through for over 10min, after they said one moment, so decided it was easier to park and go in (no hate really because it's only 2 employees) CORPORATE needs to update this restaurant in general. Definitely their appliances, give it a deep clean and probably give these 2 ladies raises for doing it themselves. Oh wait I think a manager (green shirt) just popped out of the side room laughing and pointing out an alarm thing that was beeping and went back into the side room, not being helpful what so ever to the rush of people. So these 2 ladies a blonde and an older brown haired woman that's the reason for the 5 star the lower ones are due to the neglect from CORPORATE and the lack of staff. When 2/3 people are busting their butts off and another employee is chilling in another room not being helpful is ridiculous. Food was a 2/5 on being okay.

Simple the tortillas were stale and hard, the Tea was old and sour, the employee was even worse than the food. She was rude making up things calling them Health Laws, like I cant take the bad food and drinks back its against health law. NOT. But not washing your hands certainly is, maybe you need to wash everytime you leave the prep area when you return. Wash the Tea Container out between batches, throw away the old dried out tortillas. Our whole breakfast ended up in the trash at McDonalds.

Go anywhere else... unless you like waiting 45 minutes for subpar food. Avoid at all cost. Taco Bell is better

Tuesday, March 10th, we traveled to Bakersfield to pick up a vehicle I had purchased, and of course had to stop by Kohnen's. My wife and I split a Tuna and Cheddar Panini, and a loaded Turkey (we arrived too late for Sourdough!!). It is difficult to walk away without a mini-pie (try them all, but blackberry is freaking amazing!!). As always, Danelle was there with her typical congeniality and work ethic! We love her!! And I got to tell her about her doppelgänger in a restaurant in Yucaipa!! They do exist!! In summary, eat at Kohnen's!! Say hi to Danelle!

I visited Kohnen's Bakery Tehachapi yesterday with my family, and this was honestly one of the…read moreworst customer service experiences I've ever had. I only purchased two items -- one cream puff and one slice of cheesecake -- but the cashier charged my card THREE times due to repeated mistakes. Here's exactly what happened: 1) My first card (Card A) was charged $11.20. The cashier asked me if I wanted a receipt, and I said yes. Then she told me the receipt didn't come out because the transaction "didn't go through," and asked me to provide my card again. 2) I gave the same card again, and this time she charged $11.69. 3) Then again, she told me that it didn't go through, so I used a different debit card (Card B), which was charged $11.20. While sitting at the table with my family, I immediately checked my bank account and thought I had only been charged twice. I spoke to a staff member at the store and requested a refund for one of the $11.20 charges, which was processed. However, today I realized I had actually been charged three times, meaning there was still another $11.20 that needed to be refunded. So I called the bakery and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with someone named Danielle. I calmly explained the entire situation and told her I would send all my receipts and bank transaction records by email so they could double-check and confirm everything. She said ok and gave me their email address, but it was very long, and I was concerned about making a mistake while writing it down. So I politely asked if she could text me the email address instead. Her response was extremely rude -- she said, "I'm not required to do that," and told me to just write it down myself if I had a pen and paper. Although I was already uncomfortable with her attitude, I carefully wrote it down and sent the email. However, the email bounced back as invalid, even though I had confirmed the spelling with her multiple times over the phone. When I called again, Danielle answered and said, "Ma'am," in a very dismissive tone, and told me that they had found the three charges and had already processed refunds for both $11.20 transactions. I tried to confirm which card the refund was going to, since I used two different cards, but after putting me on hold for a long time, she read off a card number that was not mine. When I told her that wasn't my card, she insisted those were the only transactions for $11.20 yesterday and told me to "check my bank in a few days" and call back if the refund doesn't show up. And, she didn't apologize for the mistake, even though they charged my cards three times and wasted a significant amount of my time. Even yesterday, when I asked for an apology, I only received one reluctantly after I pointed out that they had made a mistake -- and even then, the response was dismissive, as if I should just accept it because they were "taking care of it." The attitude throughout this entire situation was rude, unprofessional, and extremely frustrating. The cheesecake was very good. But because of this experience, I would never come back. We drove all the way from Los Angeles to Tehachapi with my family, expecting a pleasant visit, but this bakery completely ruined the day. Being charged a total of $34.09 for just two small items due to repeated errors is unacceptable. If your staff cannot properly process payments, they should not be working as cashiers. Situations like this should never happen. What's even worse is that after making multiple mistakes, there was not a single sincere apology -- only attitude, dismissiveness, and instructions for me to keep checking my bank and call back again. My time is valuable. This entire situation could have been avoided if things were handled properly from the beginning. This was an extremely unpleasant experience, and I am very disappointed. Cf) For reference, the other $16.05 receipt is for bread that my brother purchased.

Finding truly great street tacos in a small town can be like spotting Bigfoot... everyone swears…read morethey exist, but you don't always believe it until you see them. Tacos La Villa proved me wrong. My wife and I have been here twice now, and every taco has been outstanding. The lengua is the star of the show--and as someone who orders lengua every chance I get, that's saying something. It's incredibly tender, packed with flavor, and easily the best I've had in the area. Bonus points for being the only place in town that even offers it. The buche is rich and delicious, the carnitas are juicy with just the right amount of crisp, and the fish tacos are so good they deserve their own fan club. No gimmicks. No over-the-top Instagram food. Just authentic, flavorful tacos that keep you thinking about your next visit before you've even finished the last one. Tehachapi keeps surprising me with hidden culinary gems, and Tacos La Villa has absolutely earned its place on that list.

My daughter ordered the carnitas combo burrito. Her only complaint was that she prefers a little more meat, but she added their habanero salsa and definitely felt the heat! She rated the spice level about an 8/10, and the flavor was excellent. I can't wait to go back and try their Flamin' Hot Burrito. Anything with Hot Cheetos, I'm in! It's also really important to me that a restaurant is clean, and this one definitely was. We will definitely be coming back.
