I came here on a day it was just starting to snow. I had errands to do in the area and had been in the mood for Indian food to take home and eat during my snow days. They greeted me upon walking in and took my order. I sat in the waiting area. No one else was there besides a couple that arrived a few minutes after me that was dining in. It only took about 10-15 minutes for my order. I got the Lamb Saag at a level 2 and Chicken Tikka Masala at Level 3, plus both garlic and paneer naan. I enjoy spicy food, but opted for the low end because this was a new place for me and I was going off of the reviews I saw. The lamb had nice flavor but wasn't spicy at all. I would prefer a 3-4. I let my mother have the rest because she was very fond of it even though she's not as open to different cultures cuisines as I am. I preferred the chicken. Very tasty to me. Again, level 3 did have a bit more spice but I would go even higher next time. Both types of naan were great. I would have liked if the paneer naan had more cheese though. When I'm in the mood for Indian and in the area again as I often am, I'd surely go back. read more

Building could use some work, and the pick up area is dated. Service was a bit awkward. Ordered the chicken saag and rav korma at level 1. Both were flavorful and not spicy at all (which is ok because I have GERD). Seekh kabob and chicken biriyani at level 2. It had a healthy hint of spice and was also flavorful. Level 1 and 2 are very different on spice. The order came with 3 containers of rice. Chicken nan and plain nan both good. Not greasy. Overall it was a good meal but nothing we ate rushing back to. I went to Delhi Palace expecting to dine in, but discovered they were only doing carry-out. They stated they may begin dine-in soon, which I hope they do because the art on the walls was really nice. The people working were pleasant. I ordered the chicken tikka masala & my husband has the lamb vindaloo, both at a spice level of four. We also shared an order of garlic naan. I have to say, this chicken tikka masala reminded me of the first time I fell in love with Indian food, which was also the first time I tried it. It was packed full of super tender chicken & the sauce was absolutely perfect. The lamb vindaloo my husband had was seasoned excellently & also had very tender lamb. I called in for takeout here for the first time, and discovered that all the positive reviews were accurate. The waitress was very helpful and efficient over the phone, and equally pleasant once I arrived to pick up my meal. The restaurant was clean and beautiful, though the waitress told me (despite the Yelp review to the contrary), that they are still take-out only, and there are no plans to return to dining in in the near future (a little disappointed here). But the food did not disappoint. The Saag Paneer was fresh and flavorful, the Lamb Saji was very tender, the plain paratha was made the old-fashioned way, with soft flaky layers, and the mango lassi was sweet and tart in all the right places. I continue to be disappointed and sad that Delhi Palace never reopened for dine-in after patiently waiting three years for it to do so. The furnishings were updated so beautifully, and we often are tantalized by comments from those like us picking up our dinner that it indeed will reopen. My parents have been ordering from here for many years and they have really great food! This is also one of my go tos when I'm craving Indian. I almost exclusively get chicken tikka masala no matter what restaurant I go to, and theirs is great. Creamy, saucy, full of flavor. I also enjoy their garlic naan - it has lots of garlic and is not too oily unlike some places. The chicken tikka had a bit of a bbq flavor which was unexpected. The chicken was very tender. I probably wouldn't get this myself (my mom got it) but it is good if you like bbq. Mango lassi! One of my favorite drinks. Mango mixed with creamy yogurt and spices - I think cardamom and Rosewater? - amazing. I highly recommend getting this if you like smoothies! read more

Delhi Palace is our favorite place for Indian takeout in Cincinnati! We order frequently via DoorDash. I'm vegetarian, and our go to orders are Channa Masala and Saag Choley. Both are so flavorful. The garlic naan and paneer naan are always fresh. We recently tried the vegetable samosa and that was crisp on the outside but soft and moist inside. Oooohhh my gosh my husband and I love this place. We just moved from Dallas and order here all the time. He loves the chicken tikka with garlic naan, my 3 year old eats the chicken tikka app (which is not chicken tikka?? We don't actually know what it is but it's delicious), and I get the vegan options (they have several). So disappointing! We ordered dinner from here tonight and it was so bland that had we been blindfolded and not told what we're eating we'd have no clue that it had been Indian food. This was the blandest food I've had in a long time and definitely the blandest Indian food I've ever had. No discernible spices at all. I had Mushroom Matar, my husband had the Lamb Vindaloo. The Vegetable Pakoras were heavy, bland doughy lumps. We've been customers since they first opened. We came back after the fire and it was still pretty good, although slightly different. Like they had a new cook. It has consistently gotten blander over the last 2 years and tonight was the last time we will be customers. Easy to find with the parking lot right in front of the building; we found Delhi palace here on Yelp. We stopped in with intentions of eating in, but as of now (7/14/24) they are currently carry out only. I ordered the lamb vindaloo with a spice level 4 of 6. I usually prefer spicier dishes, and on the one to six scale, I usually order 5. However being vindaloo, and a little spicier in the sauce in general, I went with the 4 and it was perfect. My wife's tikka masala was also a 4, and had the perfect amount of kick. Slightly less spicy tasting because of the creamy yogurt, it was very good. The garlic naan was just ok, and in my opinion smelled better than it tasted. The portion sizes were large and we were both blown away by the sheer amount of meat in each of our dishes. They definitely do not skimp on the ingredients!! Very good, we will DEFINITELY add this to our rotation of top notch Indian restaurants! read more

Sitting here eating leftovers and realized I've never left a review! After several visits including takeout and third-party delivery, we have never had a bad meal. It's one of the few things we'll have delivered because it's just as good! The orders are always quick and they pay attention to make your order exactly how you ask for it. As someone who is finally coming around to a small amount of spice, the 2 is perfect - not too spicy and doesn't build too much as you eat (with rice). Had the Lamb Sabji for dinner last night and it was killer. I got the level 2 spice and might try level 3 next time. It was just enough to add solid flavor to the curry with a slow stable burn that added to the flavor of the dish. The rice was cooked perfectly as well. A nice balance of serving between the rice and curry. My only knock on the place is not knowing ahead of time that they were carry out only. Maybe I missed it when looking through their website or online, but we arrived expecting to sit down and ordered it to go. However, they still managed to get our food out in less than 15 minutes. It didn't take long for Delhi Palace to become our go-to spot. They were closed for a few months due to a fire in their building, but I am relieved to hear that they are currently back in business. For entrees, we would typically order the creamy Chicken Makhani and pair it with some cheese-stuffed Paneer Naan. Both of these options are so savory and packed with flavor. At times, it can prove to be a challenge to keep our portions under control! Speaking of their portions, they would usually provide us with more than enough to make for two complete meals. It's perfect for when you want to have some leftovers the next day. The workers here were friendly and generous. If I recall correctly, they would sometimes throw in a little something extra for our to-go bag free of charge. They also have free wifi. A lot of good Indian restaurants have buffets. For many people, the thought of eating from a buffet is an unpleasant one. Their belief is that the food is made from leftovers and is terrible. Here it's not like that at all. The food looks and smells fresh. It's a good way for someone to sample the Indian cuisine. The buffet is about $9 for lunch. Get some of the dal soup first. This is a good way to start a meal. Next get some of the pakoras or samosas and try them with the chutneys. There are many choices for diet restrictions. It has a good amount of parking spaces though the lot needs repaved. It looks kind of terrible from the outside but ignore this and step in.
