Hyderabad house castleton. to the food, service, and cleanliness!! I was disappointed with how dead it was tn The guy at the counter was so friendly and helpful and gave me great recipes for me to try next time since I usually just stuck with the classic butter chicken. I'm excited to try some other options

The portion sizes are huge! This South Indian restaurant in a strip mall in Castleton Mall area will not leave you hungry. Serving the dishes family style is easy as they provide you with big empty white plates. The menu is large and customizable on spice level, so everyone can find something they enjoy. There are several vegetarian options, desserts, and appetizers. Masala Chai is available. All of the servers put in a lot of effort to make sure we were satisfied: checking on spice levels after we got our meal, splitting up the bill at the end carefully, anticipating to-go box needs, etc. Free parking is available in a large surface lot.

The bill surprised me. I said it was a great meal for $40 and then saw the bill. Whew!

The food was really good. The price was high in my opinion but it was good. The garlic naan was excellent. The service is non-existent. You have bottles of water on the table as you enter and the man serving us seemed surprised when I asked for a cup. I don't like drinking out of a plastic water bottle. Especially in a restaurant. They seemed surprised and not thrilled that we were eating in the restaurant and not picking up carry out (we will only do carry out in the future) - I said this was a $40 meal and then the bill arrived. Tipping was hard.

Trying to find good Indian around Indy has proven challenging. So I will start by saying that our food was 4/5 stars. It was very good, tasted fresh, and came in large portions. It was a little different than what I'd had before with big chunks (1"+) of red onion and bell pepper, but I enjoyed it. We came in for dinner and realized the seating is limited and quite casual. You are offered bottled water and order at the front. I'd seen the prices on Yelp, which I now realize must have been outdated, and didn't pay much attention past that. But when we went to checkout and realized my husband and I had just eaten a $70 meal....I was a bit shocked. We both had a regular combo with chicken, some extra naan, and one can of soda. I'm just not sure if I'd return. There are many other options with nice table service and upscale ambience for this price.

An authentic Indian spot -- unassuming from the outside, but the food speaks for itself. We dined in and loved it, but it's also a great spot for takeout. Quick, friendly service and delicious dishes that hit the spot.

They are located right off of I 465 and the first turn at the first light. The restaurant is located in this huge strip mall space. There is a huge parking lot in front of the restaurant. They are spacious inside the restaurant and you need to wait to be seated. Food was delicious and warm. Their inside decor and ambiance are good too. They have a lot of food options and a great amount of vegetarian options. They do have some vegan options as well. Their customer service is good. We felt the Vegetable Pakora was a little on the saltier end. The Garlic Naan was delish!!! Thei pastries taste yummy!! They even take birthday cake orders. They do dine and carry out. I don't think they have any outside seating to my knowledge. If you like to try the authentic taste of India, this is a must try! They are family friendly and business casual. They have a buffet setup but I have never tried their buffet before.

Hyderabad House is a takeout staple in my house, but today we decided to dine in for lunch. While the food travels well, there's nothing better than their veggie samosas fresh out of the fryer--so good that I forgot to grab a photo of them! Portions are huge and filling. My boyfriend and I split a regular size boneless chicken biryani plus garlic naan and still come away with enough for at least another meal each every time. One of these days I'd love to see what the family size Biryani looks like! Atmosphere is clean and modern but doesn't have a ton of character to it. Service is attentive and our food came out hot and fresh much faster than I expected.

Pros: Flavorful and delicious food. Items we tried - chicken hakka noodles, chicken lollipop, gongura chicken, chicken monagadu, different types of chicken and goat biryani. All these items hit the spot. Multiple TVs to watch games! Friendly staff Lots of seating available. Pretty huge place. Cons: Extremely extremely slow service. Haven't experienced such slow service ever. Also, I wouldn't recommend trying their Chilli chicken.

    Masala fish fry

I ordered masala fish fry today night and this is the photo above, absolute shit. Where is the masala, no salt and was completely bland and this was $18. Complete waste of my money. If you guys can't make proper basic dishes like this, don't include them in your menu. Very disappointed.

Great Indian food, huge selection, responsive service, beautiful restaurant at very reasonable prices. There is also a large selection of Desi Chinese dishes and desserts. This may be our go to Indian restaurant now.

food here was really good, service was quick and to the point. don't really have many complaints except they have water bottles instead of cups and my table was lowkey sticky

I had a hankering for Hyderabad House. No I didn't. I'd actually never been there before and it just sounded good. Plain and simple, I was hungry for Indian food. And because I've been wanting to #GetLost at Hyderabad House, it was clear how part of today would be spent. Very unfortunately, the main reason for wanting to try this particular restaurant (the beautiful buffet I've only seen in pictures) is still not offered since COVID shut it down. Note: I have NEVER not "buffeted" an Indian restaurant. Because I don't know what to order. Fortunately, I now know enough to order what I like, so I created my own buffet; one that will feed me into next week! And it was delicious! But I still prefer to sample many dishes as opposed to feasting on one or two. I WILL return to Hyderabad House. #Getlostindiana #Getlostindiana9000

Do they serve a daily lunch buffet?

They had a lunch buffet prior to COVID but when I ate there a few weeks ago, the buffet was gone and they were doing order from menu. I believe it is down till COVID slows.

I recommend ordering ahead for a quick in/out and to make sure what you want is in stock. I've seen the line quite long, but you can get lucky with no line on a weekday. The inside is cute but there is no seating inside. You're going to get a little messy eating your cinnamon roll and want to be in the privacy of your own home anyway. My one very minor piece of feedback is I wish some rolls were sweet rolls (i.e. skip the cinnamon). Fruity Pebble is a little overpowered by cinnamon but I'd still get it. Yes, these are quite a bit pricer that's for sure. People were buying one of everything in line. I was like wow! Some Items the combinations of flavors didn't appeal to me. I love tiramisu and pecan pie so I got them both. One suggestion I would have is to have utensils and napkins at the table for people to use. The pastries I bought are really temperature sensitive and need to be kept cold. Both had a cream - mousse inside. They wouldn't last long only a day or to the next. I loved the pecan item I ordered. It was great! The tiramisu one I wouldn't order again. The bottom flakey part was so bitter. I love coffee and expresso and tiramisu. But, the whole thing just wasn't what I thought it would taste like. Now I know. :-( Creamy, sweet, smooth, with a kick of coffee all come together to make a great tiramisu. This is what most people love about it. I don't know if they are planning on opening a store or not. The pop ups are doing well it seems. What went from ordering 1 pastry each turned into 8 total.. and we regret nothing. The Tiramisu Danish was exactly as I had hoped for! The bitter taste of espresso paired with the sweet mascarpone cream filling reminded me of the holidays when I would watch my mom make tiramisu for our family. While a lot of people prefer a sweeter espresso, I thought this was perfect and very true to a traditional tiramisu taste The Pear Kouglof reminded me of a fresh yeast donut that's been tossed in sugar This was a very kid-friendly pastry in taste and while I wasn't too blown away by it, it did make me wonder if I would have preferred it with a stronger, more potent, fruit. The Cherry Basque Cheesecake -- this pastry was the house favorite. The texture of this cheesecake was creamy, but somehow still spongey.. cakey, but more like pudding. Mix that with the juiciest sour cherries and the crunch of a biscoff crust.. mind blown was an understatement. We're looking forward to what Beurre Sec has planned for their next pop-up

That could not be more true. We both did Pick Two: I got a chicken salad sandwich and my mother got a turkey and cheese both with the soup of the day which was butternut squash. Soup was OK, sandwiches were OK. I got a side of chips (not made in-house) for $3. My daughter was upset when we arrived bc she was napping in the car and she proceeded to cry for about the first 10 minutes so, I walked around with her to calm her before I sat down since it's so cramped to try not to disturb everyone else. She was not happy the entire time so we were trying to calm her and feed her. Cake slices and cheesecake are $17-20 each. They're large but other reviews say dry and taste old. That's pricey. We skipped dessert at those prices based on the quality of the rest of our meal... I got an $8 peppermint mocha which was good but, served in the smallest teacup imaginable. It's extremely small inside. Like, uncomfortable. Granted, I had a lot of items with my baby and her and we were seated at a table for two with her in my lap but it was close quarters and the waitresses were squeezing between the chairs to walk around. They have about 6 tables inside with a small event private room in back. Our waitress was kind but, the manager or owner was off-putting. She went to every single table seated except ours to ask how their meal was and experience and, when time to pay, she wanted to personally ring me up to ensure we left in a hurry. I get it, some places are not meant for babies, but, since it's billed specifically to kids, I thought this was. Nope, I was wrong. I had planned not to eat because the menu isn't very inclusive for my dietary restrictions. If you are only gluten free with no other food restrictions, they have some options for you. For me, with gluten and dairy plus some other restrictions, my only option would've been a salad and I would've had to adjust it for my needs. I planned ahead of time to just have tea, and that's what I did. The tea itself was pretty good, but it came out very lukewarm, so it was disappointing. The menu says the tea pot is for 1-2, but it's very small and I'd never consider it for 2 people. I had maybe 2.5-3 tea cup refills before it was gone. For the price, I'd rather get tea elsewhere. For birthdays, they do bring you edible glitter to blow from your hand when you make a wish. It's a cute addition, whether you're a kid or grown ups like my group. The food and drinks felt overpriced to me, but I think this is one of those places where it's about the ambiance and experience more than anything. It's not somewhere I'm eager to return to, but if someone is having a celebration there, I'll prepare ahead and maybe ask for my tea to come extra hot.

It wasn't even fresh out of the oven, and it still melted in my mouth. Light, soft, perfectly glazed... I knew right then I was in trouble. I ended up buying a box with blueberry cake, applesauce cake, cinnamon sugar, Bavarian cream, glazed yeast, and a few others. Everything was incredibly fresh, and at those prices, I had to double-check the menu because I thought I was reading it wrong! Before I left, the woman smiled and said, "Make sure you come back when you're in town." Oh, I'll be back. I may even create reasons to drive through Indianapolis now. Long's Bakery doesn't need fancy displays or trendy flavors. They simply make outstanding donuts with friendly service and prices that make you wonder if they accidentally forgot inflation. 10/10. Worth every mile of the detour.

They are famous for their warm yeast donuts, however my favorite has to be the blueberry. What a delight! It's flavorful and the texture just melts in your mouth. If you've never been, note that the lines can be long, but everybody in line is typically friendly. Also, cash only, so be prepared to pull some money out the bank!
