The only reason this place has disappointed is that it is beyond packed for lunch. If you go at the wrong time, there's barely standing room inside for people waiting for their order. That means if you are rushing back to your office for work or a deadline, you might have to eat later, or find another place and try Deli Delicious later. I'm not really a sandwich person..but this place is awesome. The bread, veggies, and meat are fresh and flavorful, and the portions are amazing. I have never disliked anything I've ordered here--and I tend to be picky. I mean not picky..."selective." Not only does Deli Delicious serve amazing sandwiches that are well portioned, and also chips, cookies and sodas, but they also serve french fries! This place is the best! AND they do take phone ahead orders--if you think you might show up during their busy time (around 12:05pm until 12:45pm on weekdays). Did I mention they make great catering sandwich platters which are perfect for parties or office meetings? Yup. Deli delicious is good... however there are constantly issues with their food. Check your food before you go. I'm pregnant, therefore there is a stupid long list of food that pregnant women are supposed to avoid due to illness or bacteria. Sprouts and deli meat is one of the no-no foods. I ordered a tuna on Dutch crunch to go, with NO sprouts. My receipt said no sprouts, so I thought it was good to go. I opened up the box to find it loaded with sprouts. No, I'm not allergic. I like Deli Delicious. Yes, a little on the pricy side for subs but, not bad. I've visited several Deli Delicious locations throughout the valley and usually order the same sandwiches. Tuna and swiss anyone? So why 2 stars? Well, IF I'm paying $12 bucks for a sandwich, chips and a drink and my Tuna Swiss has very little tuna, I'm asking myself one question: "where's my meat??!!" ( or FISH if you want to be technically somewhat correct although debatable). So I did ask this question to one of the girls there. My sub had just been brought. I literally showed her one half of my sandwich and mentioned to her that there was practically NO tuna on one side. She said 'maybe because when they spread it, it all went over to the other side'. IF this theory is correct then the other side would have an overwhelming amount of tuna but... NOPE. Not happening. The other half had a tiny bit more but still considerably less tuna than ANY other Deli Delicious location serving the same sandwich. This of course caused no concern to them being that it's downtown Fresno and they had plenty of business. Well, sure enough I ate what I could. I left a lot of lonely bread in the basket wishing to have been smothered in Tuna like it normally is. Verdict: not enough meat (fish). No follow thru on service. High price for what I got. Bad customer service and sandwich was horrible. I was in the area and DD was the closest thing was that quick to eat, it was my first experience and the reviews made me enthusiastic about it. After I got my order I decided to sit down and little did I know it was 10 minutes to closing time and employees told me I couldn't eat inside no more. Employees should have some work ethics and manners when it comes to things like this because I would of finished in 10 minutes. The sandwich in the other hand was horrible, very dry. Old taste to it and no flavor whatsoever. I ordered the sandwich with only meat, cheese and lettuce and received it with everything, all the vegetables they had they threw it inside. I never ordered like this. Also to mention the water from the veggies made the sandwich soggy so much it was unbearable to it. Great, new and clean location in the downtown area that also validates parking for the first 30 mins, if you park in the N St garage right next to it. Service can sometimes be stupid . One a recent visit, one of the blond cashiers insisted that she was correct on an order I placed recently, despite me arguing for the contrary. Wasn't a huge deal, but kinda goes against the whole, "customer is always right" belief that these type of places should always follow. Other than that small issue though, service here has always been fast and friendly. Sandwiches, as in all of the locations here in town, are always fresh tasting and loaded with meat and veggies. The service puts this place at 5 stars! I got the pastrami with everything and avocado on wheat. The pastrami was thick cut and the wheat bread was toasted just right. The service was superb!
