This place is hidden in an alley all the way in the back (if you're on the Main Street). I think the sandwich was delicious!! The bread was very fresh and the sprouts were so good. I love sprouts on a sandwich (it is an extra charge, but worth it). My partner requested a sandwich with no onions or mayo, but since they were pretty busy they forgot about the modifications. He let them know and they fixed him a new sandwich so quickly! EXCELLENT service. There is a few tables for sitting outside which is nice. Additionally, I got the fruit cup and potato salad. The potato salad was good, on the sweeter side but I loved it. The fruit was fresh and a good combination (strawberries, grapes, blueberries and pineapples), I would just check the date a mistake I made. The fruit was two days old (which I don't really care, I'm a garbage disposal) but some of the blueberries were definitely older and mushy. Overall pretty good cute spot!! read more

Went here for lunch today . The owner was working behind the cash register. Super nice guy that has lived in La Jolla for 20 years. Our order came out in about 5 minutes. It wasn't too busy. But I got the impression that it gets busy and lots of people appeared to have called in their orders ahead of time. Super tasty paninis. My husband tried the turkey and avocado. Cute little deli in a little side alley. Great menu. I got the pastrami melt (be advised it does have mustard on it) though it's not listed, unfortunately I cannot eat mustard. I attempted to take it off, but it did not work. The nice worker made me another one without mustard with no hesitation. It was absolutely deli-icious!!! Worst grilled cheese I have had in a long time. I added turkey and it was simply not edible. For $14.67, I would have expected something more than melted American cheese! My four year old who is obsessed with grilled cheese ate one bite and refused to eat more. Very disappointing! read more

I found this gem right down the street from my job, so I decided to give it a try. It was a little hole in the wall, very busy, but the lady who helped me Abriana was very attentive, very patient with me ( I asked a lot of questions ), and had such great customer service. Abriana was so down to earth, with such a great vibe, u usually don't get that in La Jolla. So after asking about a couple of the popular sandwiches, I decided to go with the Pastrami melt and got a bowl of chili. That pastrami was so on point. The bread was fresh and soft, and it had the right amount of pastrami in there, super delicious. The chili was one of the best I've had so far. I can't wait to try the roast beef. Love this hidden sandwich spot! I woke right upstairs in an office so I've tried many of their sandwiches, never once have I been disappointed! The Buffalo chicken panini is always so yummy, I get mine with a side of ranch to dip. Tuna TNT is always fresh and has a good kick to it, not just your average tuna sandwich. A great little spot to stop for a quick bite to eat when you are shopping. It's a small place, only about five tables, but it is outdoor seating and you can choose between sun or shade. Very comfortable. Drinks, chips, fruits, and a variety of lunch/sandwich type menu options. They also have some very good hot Panini's. I believe they have free delivery to the village. The bacon absolutely was pre made and from the microwave and the so called tortilla was all broken. It wouldn't even stay together long enough to bite into it. Now let's get to the taste. They couldn't even add salt to eggs to Help this situation out. Not to Mention the size. Nothing to what the pictures claim. But honestly even if they were bigger they would have ended up in the trash because of quality and taste. I wish the reviews were honest. The Monster sandwich (ham and turkey) was perfect. Fresh bread, real turkey and ham pieces (not processed slices), and good portions. My lady got the honey berry salad, and it was yum. I was really excited to try this place since I'm from out of town and this restaurant was the only one that would pop up with gluten free bread options but man was I disappointed. My bf and I were waiting there in front of the register for a couple of minutes before someone came out from the kitchen. I ordered a turkey avocado sandwich on gluten free bread and my bf got a roast beef sandwich. It took another couple of minutes before our order was ready. During that wait we heard the smoke alarm go off and the smell of burnt bread could even be smelled from the outside seating area that we were at. I figured it was our order since we were the only ones there. Turns out it was our order, specifically my sandwich. They had burned my sandwich and instead of making a new sandwich the salvaged what they could and only replaced one of the burned pieces of bread. I don't have a picture of it but it was clearly burned one one side and then the other side was just a brand new piece of bread that wasn't even toasted or anything. Both of the sandwiches were awful. I don't recommend this place at all. read more

I don't eat pork or beef so I love all of the options they have and the vegetarian options they have! I think the turkey mex was my favorite sandwich! The quality of their products are great and everyone who works there is so kind! I always order a sandwich thinking I'm going to save half of it for later but always end up eating the whole thing in one sitting. They also have really good soups! We were looking for a place to get sandwiches to take to the nearby park, and our experience of Deli-icious was disappointing. While the "TBA" sandwich -- turkey breast, avocado, and bacon -- was satisfying, the egg salad sandwich could have been so much more. It was clear that the egg salad was just hard-boiled eggs and mayo -- there was no extra flavor from any diced celery, dill pickle relish, paprika, or any other easily added ingredient that makes for a memorable egg salad. The macaroni salad was bland. The most disappointing thing was that we were served the "Jackie" sandwich without two of its primary ingredients: avocado and pepper jack cheese. We were the only customers at the deli at the time (a Monday), so not sure why such a big mistake happened. While the staff remade the sandwich, it meant a round trip back up the hill from the park for the fix -- a real bummer during a vacation day with local family. read more
