I feel it would probably go a bit faster if they just had some kid deliver it to your table instead. The size of the restaurant means they can only have maybe one or two of these working. So if it's busy, I wouldn't expect to see them delivering food. The robots are a cool novelty, but mostly a gimmick for this space. Also, they have obligatory annoying request for a tip, even though robots are delivering your food... smh The Italiano with chips and a drink was delicious. This was a most depressing meal. I ordered Fettucine Alfredo. No garlic, shallot or white wine! Just reduced cream with a shake of parmesan at the end. The most bland pasta I have ever had. I stopped at Deli Italiano for a quick to go bite on a random Friday afternoon. I ordered when I got there so I knew I would have to wait a little bit. My food came out quite quickly even though they had a steady flow of take out business. The Stromboli was piping hot and filled with sausage, pepperoni, ricotta, and cheese. The marinara it came with was pretty yummy too. My only critique is that a lot of my meat toppings were in the middle of the Stromboli so when I ate the sides it was mostly cheese. i loved the outdoor seating it was perfect on a not too hot summer day! the flowers and greenery was great. the staff was super friendly and brought the food out to us even though we were outside. the food isn't bad it's just boring. it's definitely a solid meal for a decent price but it wasn't memorable. they have a good variety of options and the 2 slices w fountain drink for $10 deal is great. their calzones look pretty good and may try that if i were to come back. the sub was disappointing and was boring, though the bread was good. it just needs some good italian juice or something especially since this is a deli. nevertheless it's a cute spot and a decent option. read more

I recommend ordering the steak and cheese sub, which is a personal favorite. They also make a great pizza. It's grown in size over the years and they renovated recently. Plenty of room indoors, and they have an outdoor patio area which is nice to sit down at in the warm months. Service levels have changed over time, so I mostly order food to go now when I visit. Yes..Deli Italiano is a GF institution and we want to support local small businesses. Like many others we've been pretty much regulars here for the past 8+ years whether that's been after the kid's sporting events, stopping by for a quick bite or ordering carryout. We stopped by to grab a bite and it does seem like the standards have gone down. The pizza isn't nearly what it used to be...flat, no crust, with doughy tasting dough. It evokes school pizza now but not quite as bad...however, the pizza used to be decent by Nova standards. We also ordered a chicken parm sub and asked for a side of marinara...definitely not the same marinara they used to give. Tasted straight out of a can. I realize food costs have gone up dramatically with the pandemic and can only hope our last visit was impacted by all the challenges businesses have faced. I never liked Deli Italiano's pizza--not great quality and kind of greasy--but my kids eat it, so I've been ordering it for them once a week for years starting when I moved here in 2012, but I'm done with them now. I ordered at 4:11 PM today, and the pizza didn't get to my home until 5:32. When it did, it was old and cold. The delivery driver mumbled an apology and ran off. I was going to town for reasons unrelated, and stopped into Deli Italiano to object to the product and service, and was met with a flat-out denial by the GM, Carlos, that anything had gone wrong. I asked him if 80 mins was in line with his expectations for delivery and simply repeated that it hadn't taken that long, which was absurd--how could he possibly know? He couldn't have been less interested in addressing my concerns, and when I requested that he make a new pizza, he refused. Carlos used to work at Senor Ramon's and always gave me an unpleasant feeling to the point that I hoped he wouldn't be there when I went. Perhaps that's part of the reason that the restaurant closed--who knows. This isn't the first time Deli Italiano has screwed up my order--it's a regular occurence--but in the last few years, they've gone from being apologetic and quick to make amends, to being surly and telling you to pound sand when you can even get them on the phone. I eat out a lot and don't typically write reviews but I finally needed to write a review about this place! I live up the street so we've been here quite a few times and almost every time we come across the same issues. One time, I ordered my son chicken tenders and fries and they didn't close the sauce lid on the honey mustard so it spilled all over the bag and my car. The customer service is always terrible. Today, I ordered my son fries and tenders again and they quoted me 15 minutes when I called. I got there 5 min later and paid and waited and once it hit 18 minutes (3 minutes after the quoted 15), they finally put the tenders in the fryer, making it another 10 minute wait minimum! I had somewhere I needed to be so that was too long for me. And I didn't get an apology or anything. They saw me standing there and kept saying my order was coming but didn't even start cooking it?! 15 minutes is a lot less than 30'minutes! And the guy working said "oh sometimes it can be 25-30'minutes". Totally understandable but you quoted me 15 minutes! Terrible customer service every time. Food quality has gone down so much since 2020 as well. We used to order from pizza a lot because it was so close and tasted great. Now, it's so bad. We only go when we're in a bind and need food quickly. Which was the case today - I was headed somewhere and needed to grab food quickly for my son that wasn't McDonald's. My biggest issue is the customer service and quality of food. Similar situations to this have happened so often! Even with delivery, we've been quoted 30 minutes and it's taken over an hour. Most of the folks there are very nice and helpful and are courteous when they take your order over phone, save for one guy who has the worst customer service/phone skills, directs you always to order on their website (which often crashes), always complains that the restaurant is super busy when you're calling to place an order, "accidentally" drops the line multiple times, and claims to be a manger there who is also apparently the owner's BFF. I guess being a manager who is buddies with the owner emboldens this individual to talk down to customers like a real "Karen." I can't imagine how he talks to his work colleagues.
