Food was decent and came out pretty quick. Pizza (not pictured) was okay. Didn't have much flavor though. The pasta and the salad were great though! The service was decent. Overall a good experience.

The food is good and it comes out quick, especially because they were understaffed when we ate here. The took awhile to seat us too, but overall the restaurant was fast and good quality.

I used to love CPK growing up so it has good memories/nostalgic. We went a few days ago for the happy hour menu which if not mistaken is half off drinks and apps until 6pm, and pizza is $9. Service is always pretty good, the server came around a few times to check on us, and food came out quickly. It's nice they still give out free bread before the apps/entrees come out. Tasty olive oil and basil/pesto type sauce with the bread. Ambiance is ok, it's dark in there, music isn't loud or barely heard. We sat a booth seat and cushions were fine, decent clean table space. We got the spicy buffalo cauliflower, the spicy buffalo chicken bites, and the bbq chicken pizza. I really liked the cauliflower wings, they were crunchy and enjoyed the kick from the buffalo sauce. Similarly with the chicken ones, similar flavors and spice level, cooked well, and I liked the onions as garnish. I'm subtracting a star as everything kept coming out with blue cheese which is gross for me, maybe they forgot to remove it when requested or they were unable to but that was a turn off. I always get worried with bbq sauce for pizza as sometimes it's too overpoweringly sweet but I enjoyed the sweetness, it wasn't that much and was a bit smoky. Good amount of red onions to enhance the flavor.

We are not a tall family (though who doesn't want to believe they have long legs for their stature?...)  Thus, it was even more surprising when our knees kept bumping throughout our lunch at the Tysons CPK.  So, despite the gracious service or the lunch choices, which were fine, it was impossible to enjoy the meal when we kept banging into each other under the table.  This table is a booth situated at a far corner of the main room so perhaps they were trying to squeeze in one more banquet.  But, that was not a good idea as the abnormally narrow seating space was really uncomfortable.  I don't know now if we will ever return to this location, - one we used to frequent a lot years ago.  Just goes to show the many factors that can really make or break your experience at a restaurant.

Thai Chicken Pizza and Thai Crunch Salad
    Carol D.

Food (3/5:). In my younger years (aka) 25 years ago, CPK was the bomb. I came here a lot. I loved the Thai chicken pizza so much that I tried to recreate it at home. So, I was super excited to try both this and the Thai chicken salad together at lunch special. The price was good for a lunch combo. However, the food did not live up to my expectations. All the ingredients were there, but they seemed sloppy in their composition. It's hard to describe but it's almost like they didn't come together. The pizza was ok but seemed to lack cheese (and though at closer inspection I could see it..). The this crunch salad wanted to be good, but overall lacked flavor. It's like the CPK of my younger years was in black and white. Service (4/5): Zach was friendly and helpful. He just seemed really busy and overwhelmed. Ambience (2/5): I've been to this location probably 28 years ago and it just feels dated and old. And well, dirty. It's definitely it my first choice in Tyson's but my friend really liked it. At least we go to sit near a window though it overlooks the parking garage.

Haven't been to a California Pizza Kitchen in years but decided to go to try the one in Tysons! This location had a nice atmosphere. The waitress who served us was very friendly and recommended the Neapolitan Burrata pizza. It did not disappoint! The cheese was creamy and the basil and tomato sauce complimented each other. I also tried their Sicilian pizza and it had a nice kick to it. Overall, pretty decent pizza.

I've been to this location a couple times and was really in the mood for some pasta. The place itself was super busy and packed however we were able to grab a table quick! However our server was a bit odd because I watched her give multiple tables complimentary bread yet ours didn't. I had to ask her about it in order to receive some. We got the garlic alfredo pasta & the sicilian pizza. The sicilian pizza was really good but a bit heavy, I don't think I could eat more than 2 slices because of how meat forward it was. But the garlic alfredo pasta was the star! It was one of the best pastas I've ever had and tasted the exact same from last time I went. Overall super happy with everything!

Great customer service from the beginning. The host and server were wonderful. I ordered the gluten free margarita pizza and it was amazing! The crust was thin crust which I enjoy. Highly recommend if you're craving pizza

Baja salad and pepperoni pizza lunch duo
    Derick D.

Came for lunch as I have not been here in a long time. Started with the new whiskey stone sour which was really good. Definitely recommend trying it. Bread and olive oil was brought out as a starter. Bread was perfectly soft inside with a crunchy exterior. Ordered two lunch duos. One was a 7" pepperoni pizza with a baja salad and the other a 7" margherita pizza with baja salad. Both pizzas were thin and great tasting but the crust was too big for such a small pizza. I would definitely recommend to them to make the crust smaller so the pizza seems larger. The salads were also great, had a nice cruch woth the tortilla strips. They have a bunch of shredded lettuce on bottom with some spinich leaves on top to cover it. Would prefer more dark leaves to the head of lettuce. Overall everything was good and our server Jocelyn did an amzing job being attentive no matter how busy it got.

Came here for some lunch while shopping. It took a while for our server to show up at our table after being seated. I ordered the California Club pizza and my husband got a lunch combo with a salad and half sandwich. The pizza itself was okay, not really worth $20, but inflation has raised prices everywhere so eh. The salad and sandwich combo were better than the pizza. I think I was overall kind of meh with the whole experience because the server was so absent or at least it felt that way. My husband requested more bread and they never brought it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Our kids won't eat Mac and cheese from any other restaurant since CPK has the best! They ask every night to either go there or order in.

They also say they don't restrict toppings/sauce amounts and historically, that has been true. The last two times I came to this location, I had negative experiences about the toppings/sauces. The first time, I only got one scoop of hummus because I got distracted while ordering. When I came to the counter to ask for a scoop of tzatziki, the woman at the counter asked how many scoops of the dips I had gotten. I answered honestly that I only got one, and she gave me tzatziki but warned me that they're supposed to charge if I already got dips earlier. I didn't want to argue even though I was previously told I could have as many dip scoops as I wanted. The next time I came, I asked for a second scoop of eggplant (which was clearly almost out and they gave me a very stingy amount in the first scoop). Even when they give a generous scoop, I've never been denied an extra scoop of these toppings. The employee said he would have to charge. From everything I see online, Mezeh's policy about toppings hasn't changed, so it's just employees at this location acting shady for no good reason.

Even during a busy lunch rush, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive without hovering, checked in at all the right moments, and never made us feel rushed. It gave us plenty of time to catch up and enjoy a relaxed afternoon. The dining room had a lively but comfortable energy, with enough buzz to feel vibrant without being overwhelming. The food was outstanding across the board. The warm goat cheese salad was fresh and flavorful, with crisp greens and creamy goat cheese that added just the right amount of richness. The lobster bisque arrived piping hot, silky smooth, and packed with flavor-easily one of the highlights of the meal. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her burger and fries as well; the burger was juicy and well-prepared, and the fries were perfectly crisp and golden. And of course, the Ozzie Rolls remain a must-order favorite. Served warm and complimentary, they filled the table with the aroma of freshly baked bread. Soft, buttery, and slightly sweet, they're every bit as delicious as their reputation suggests and are reason enough to keep coming back. The atmosphere is welcoming and polished, with plenty of natural light and a comfortable, casual feel. Food arrived promptly, tables were cleared efficiently, and the entire experience felt smooth from start to finish. If you're looking for dependable service, consistently great food, and a pleasant setting for lunch with friends, Coastal Flats is an easy choice and one I highly recommend.

Carlyle is our go-to (11/10), Mikes American is wonderful (9/10), and Silverado (10/10) never disappoints. But we'll never visit Coastal Flats ("CF") again. CF was pretty busy so we ordered quickly: a CF lager, a cocktail, the community bread basket, the fritters as an appetizer, crab cakes, and a grilled chicken & havarti sandwich. Based on a recommendation, we REALLY wanted to try the fritters appetizer. Unfortunately, our entrees came out after the bread basket and we never had a chance to try the fritters... our multiple servers (their operating model) totally forgot about it and we never received the item. The butter for the bread basket was half liquid when we received it. The chicken sandwich was bland. The lager wasn't anything special. Crab cakes were as good as they should have been... for the market price of $36. But how do you totally forget about one of our orders? The staff tried to fix this by offering a free round of drinks or a dessert, but we already had enough to drink and the limited dessert menu only has three items. Hats off to the staff for offering, but with so many servers/staff constantly buzzing around and checking every table, why did this even happen? Nobody is perfect. Well, Mike's American, Silverado, and (the AMAZING) Carlyle are close. Compared to those restaurants in the same portfolio, Coastal Flats in the Tysons Mall is unbecoming of a Great American Restaurants establishment. We were disappointed and won't return. We suggest to everyone who has invested the time to read my review: go to any other of the Great American Restaurants, but SKIP Coastal Flats at the Tysons Mall as they might SKIP putting in one of your orders.

The fried rice came out hot and fresh. The chilled garlic cucumbers in a plastic reuseable take away box. First the garlic cucumbers. It's basically sliced cucumbers with garlic, sesame seed oil, pinch of salt and cilantro. Not a whole lot of flavor but it is cold and refreshing. Missing sour, sweet, spicy and salty. I asked for chili oil. It helped a bit but not much. 6/10 The chicken fried rice looked good. Some veggies like diced carrots, shitake mushrooms, shallots, bean sprout and slices of dry chicken breast. Again, nothing special. No wok hei and not a lot of seasoning of flavor. Although its better than a fried rice that is too salty. The seating area was spacious but not huge. It was clean though. Overall, it was kinda pricey. $15 for fried rice and $10 for cucumbers. This isn't a mom and pop shop so I expected more from a chain. Maybe chef had bad day but if this is the norm, there are better places to eat. Maybe should have gotten the dumplings?
