I love these places that are located in industrial areas. Just like Harry's Deli in Irvine this place is amazing. It feels like eating in your backyard. The service here was simply amazing. The food here is amazing. They've got great reviews for doing things the right way. I ordered the Chicken avocado caprese sandwich w/ bacon. The soft bread made the food go down much nicer. The mac and cheese was fairly good and I finished the whole thing. My friend ordered the rueben sandwich and whewww good stuff. If you like a light horseradish taste with meat than you'll love it here. We also got complimentary cookies that were soft on the inside and lightly crunchy on the outside. Sigh. Once again I wish Yelp would do 1/2 stars. This place gets a 4 1/2 star from me though I'm leaning towards the holy 5 star brand because it was awesome. Seriously. Easily one of the best sandwich places I've ever eaten at. Laura S. (see below!) sent out an big invite to her Yelp buddies (lucky me!) to come try this out on a Saturday afternoon. On the way to LA I stopped by. Place is small but has a real cozy feel. Really liked the decor-simple and definitely that taste of Mom and Pop owns this place. There were three other full tables eating there already with two of them still awaiting their meals. The special was the American which was a sandwich with your choice of a meat that gets grilled and your choice of cheese and then they put coleslaw and fries in it. It's been a long time since I've had fries served inside anything so it sounded good to me. As I ordered, I overheard one of their cooks talking about how she prepared one of the sandwiches. The way she described it, it wasn't like one cook instructing another. It was like one cook giving away her secret sauce to another. I was really amazed at this. A great sign that the cooks obviously enjoy their jobs. So I ordered the special and sat down. Place got a little more busier as I waited. The sandwich actually took a while. Maybe about 20 minutes. Think that's some of the longest I've ever had to wait for a sandwich at a sandwich shop. But I was hoping it was because they were taking extra care in the way they made it. I mean, after hearing how the cooks talk I hoped this was the case. Yeah, I was completely 100% correct in this. Sandwich came out grilled with everything hot. It was outstanding. I couldn't believe how good it was. I haven't had a sandwich this good since I lived in NYC and I'd go to my local Astoria deli. I really was flabbergasted. I don't throw around 5 stars like free toys in a happy meal, so this is reserved for a sandwich shop that is truly in a league of their own. A little over a year ago I came here for the first time and tried a basic build your-own cold turkey sandwich. It didn't do it for me (it was good though) but I decided that to get the true experience here I needed to try a hot sandwich. Enter: Shannon's Pulled Beef Philly Style. It's not what I usually go for. In fact, I told myself I'd try Victor's Mini Spicy Meatball Hero first, then maybe Marge's Grilled Italian Roma Sub and Sue's Chicken-Avocado later. Since I took the first bite out of Shannon's Pulled Beef, I haven't been able to order anything else though! I'm a big fan of mushrooms (no, not like that) and absolutely love their sautéed wild mushrooms, probably about as much as people that just like mushrooms recreationally. I feel like licking them forever, instead of eating them and finishing the sandwich. Ok, enough about that. My second favorite thing here is the service, I really like the "attitude." This is an inside joke, as one day a loser (that was possibly hungover) complained he couldn't find the water (it's to the right when you enter) and once he was pointed to it, he still couldn't figure out how to get water out of it. Then he complained about the attitude here and we all busted up laughing...after he left of course. Some people... In all seriousness though, the decor here has personality (they often change it up for holidays), the vibe is real, and the same can be said of the staff. My amount of check ins should speak for itself. I can't get enough of the deli. What's new since 2011? They've expanded. Their food is better than ever. I discovered their meatball and it's my current obsession. I also really love their patty melt, grilled cheese, and roma italian. And of course the staff here is freaking amazing. I always appreciate a nicely made sandwich and this place exemplifies that. This place was across the street from work , so naturally it was a must visit. Michelle's turkey sandwich here is outrageously good. At $9.25 , it's the most expensive on their menu. But the freshness in your mouth is quite worth it. The squaw bread, the mozzarella, cucumbers, onions, sprouts (oh, lots of sprouts) and of course the turkey. Oh, and the size is quite ginormous. I'm happy to see this place has continued to grow when they first started out just as a lunch spot and now has grown to an evening eat as well on the weekdays. It also expanded to a bigger place. I love successful small businesses. Just please keep it simple so you won't lose the attention to detail. OK dummies (with 3 stars or less, like Dani S), if there is a good hefty line coming out the door of an obviously Plain Jane store front, there must be something there worth checking out. Yup there is. But, thank you Yelpers! This was our first time today and we beat the crowd, ha! So I can't complain. Anyway, lines are an indicator of a good thing! The lovely lady at the counter suggested the French Dip and the Pastrami Reuben, winners both! Yes, the au jus is to-die-for drinkable. So, I did. She gave me more. The fresh french bread they came on was melt-in your-mouth tender and sinfully good. So then she plops two cookies on the table for dessert. If I weren't older than her, I would have felt like I was at Grannie's house. Don't forget, tomato soup on Wednesday only. And GOOD news for the job-impaired, they will be opening on Saturdays starting in January 2011. "Holy Cow," no really that was the name of the sandwich I got and it was soooo good. It was your typical Turkey, Ham and Cheese sandwich with a thin layer of steak that really added so much flavor it. It had turkey, crisp lettuce and tomatoes with fresh soft bread. The menu is large and I saw that they won awards for their chili- if I wasn't so full.... I really wanted to try it too. They even had a tasty looking burger on their menu. They put a twist and play on their sandwich's adding just that one little ingredient that makes each thing you order stand out. They had a corn beef sandwich and another sandwich with serrano chili's that I was going back and forth on what to order. I could really explore this menu if I lived close by. I visited once again within the same week, this time on Saturday and I brought a friend. The deal is I'll show him a good sandwich place this week and he's gonna take me to Harry's Deli in Irvine the week after. Sounds like a throwdown minus us actually making the sandwiches. Anyways, we showed up at 1pm and to my surprise, there was no one inside. I was happy because I didn't want to deal with the crowd, but I also want them to get as much business as they can (minus, I don't want them to think being open on Saturday isn't worth it). Again, I tried the chicken caprese and at Chris D.'s suggestion, got the Shannon's Pulled Beef Philly Style. Oh yeah, also threw in a side of the mac since I felt like it would be too much to eat by myself. The food came out quick and the pulled beef was moist and juicy. I really appreciated the flavor of the blue cheese in this sandwich and it certainly was a welcomed addition. The chicken caprese was good, but this time I felt like the flavor from the mozzarella was noticeably absent. I did take note of the caper mayo this time around. The mac and cheese was rich (my friend described it as light). The shredded cheese on it was a great texture to add to the dish but I felt like a little salt helped enhance the dish. All in all, I was pleased yet again. It's a nice lunch spot on a Saturday. I feel like I need to come back here a bit more so I get the warmth from the staff that all the regulars seem to get! read more

Prices are a bit high, but it's HB so I won't take a star off for that. Also the wait times can be long. We waited more than 15 mins for two sandwiches. The sliders at Delilicious are quite possibly the most delicious things that have ever come in contact with my mouth. It comes with three mini burgers: mushroom & swiss, american style, and blue cheese with bacon - all equally delicious. The workers (I think they own it as well) are just the sweetest! E side of Gothard just S of Heil (in an Industrial Complex) All kidding aside this is THE BEST sandwich place I've discovered in Southern California.... now I realize that this profile doesn't have very many reviews, but just look at all of the beautiful photos I've posted of their delicious food! I have been here many many times and have tried a good portion of the menu and I must say that 9 times out of 10 I was more than satisfied with both the food and the experience as a whole. They use really high quality ingredients here in the form of meats, veggies, spices, and condiments amongst other things I'm sure and meld it all together to provide you with a product that will have you glowing!!!! Belches will be a most welcome response (I know I know...that's pretty gross, but you get the picture!) Wende (yeah that's how you spell it) and Tracy started off by only doing catering before moving on to this brick and mortar location selling their wares and to many accolades. More good news is that they will be expanding the size of the restaurant to include the space next door as well! They do a most wonderful job not only at delivering most delicious food, but also hiring a staff that exudes their own kindness, charm, welcomeness, desires, and enthusiasm. It's amazing how they remember everyone. Every time I come in I'm made to feel right at home as if I'm some part of their family. You really do get treated the right way here! Some people aren't quite acclaimated with the idea of gourmet casual food, but I assure you that this is one place that most definitely makes one feel justified. They are open for breakfast/lunch/and very early dinner and if you have room feature most delicious confections from 3 Hearts Bake Shop. Seating inside is kind of limited for now, so it is best to either take your food to go or avoid busy periods. They have regular tables both inside and out. This is my second time coming in. I stopped in spur of the moment because my hubby loves pastrami and he's never had a sandwich from here. I ordered a pastrami sandwich, Sue's chicken avocado caprese sandwich and an order of fries. My husband said the bread was good, but there was barely any pastrami on the sandwich which was kind of a let down since I was surprising him with it. The caprese sandwich I got was very tasty. I would totally get it again. I asked if the fries would be enough for 2 people and he said that it's a big basket. The fries we got were no where near enough for 2 people. Frustrating to get home and not have enough. 2 stars lost for the pastrami and the fries, but I would go back for the caprese. The cashier was extremely nice. read more

Located in a business area, this is a bit of a hard find but once you enter in, its a very homey and cozy place. Despite its plain look on the outside, there is always some sort of steady customers ready to come in and take a bite of Deli-licious! The cashier there is very energetic and bubbly and you can't help but smile when you look at her. The boyfriend had the BLT and I had the French Dip. To be honest, I loved the BLT more with their delicious avocado, tomato and bacon.. ugh, I should have taken his entire sammich! The French Dip is more for the meat lover but still oh so very amazing. The decor is lovely, but I felt like the price was a bit high, averaging 6-7+ per sandwiches. Drinks are rather small too. Delilicious is stuck in a strip mall/industrial park kinda place, and it's easy to drive right on by without knowing it exists.(Remember it's on Gothard, between Warner and Heil) But once you step inside, it is *so cute* in there! There are a lot of quirky, personal touches. Mary Englebreit must have had a hand in decorating Delilicious. So here's the food breakdown (so far): Sue's Avocado-Chicken Caprese sandwich: that's a five star sandwich right there, and it's Delilicious' signature dish; so don't miss out on this one. They grill your chicken and ciabatta bread to order, then add tomatoes, lettuce, basil, avocado and mozarella (the soft, fresh kind). Just the right touch of dressing. I wouldn't change a thing. Mom's Homemade Maci and Cheese: 4 and 1/2 stars, very nice indeed. Now THIS is the cheesiest mac! Dad's ultimate Cobb salad: 3 stars, mainly because of the proportion of lettuce to the rest of the ingredients; but in general I thought that it was too small for nine dollars. Ironically, this is one of the most expensive items on the menu :( It was tasty enough, but I've had better. Wild Mushroom Bacon Chowder: 4 stars. A nice, thick, smokey-tasting soup with slices of mushrooms. At $3.75, a cup would make a nice light lunch in itself. Three Hearts Bakery cookie sanwiches: 4 stars. NOMS. So now I'm definitely on the hook to try out more of their sammiches, esp. the philly style, the albacore tuna and the french dip. I am a little leery of getting burned a second time on another so-so salad though. Located in an industrial complex in Huntington the outside of the place and its surroundings looked really simple and plain, but the inside is absolutely adorable! My boyfriend and I arrived at 12:30pm and found a huge crowd extending outside of the place all waiting to order. We ordered the chicken caprese and the taylor's french dip to share. The place was small with 5-6 tables and chairs here and there. Luckily, an older couple was leaving and invited us to sit down after. After a 20 minute wait, Wendy brought our food out and it looked amazing! She was super friendly and attentive to all her guests. She knew most people on a first name basis, which means that these regulars are loving the sandwiches and are coming back for more. Every bite was like a taste of heaven. The caprese sandwich was on a lovely crispy roll and had an surprisingly tasty flavored mayonnaise (usually not a fan of mayo but this was gooood). The french dip was also amazing. I am really picky when it comes to french drip sandwiches, but this just became my favorite. It was juicy and flavorful and served on a soft roll. While it had great flavor on its own, the side of au jus made it even better. The most over-rated 4.5 star place we've been to from a yelp search. This deli is mediocre and over-priced for what you get. 1. Sue's Chicken Avo Caprese: hardly any chicken. It was all tomato and avocado... Where's the chicken?! Therefore, the bread to meat ratio is way off! Tasted like a veggie sandwich on foccia bread. 2. Roma grilled Italian: better meat qty (pepperoni, capacolla, mortadella, etc..) with onions, peppercinis, lettuce with Italian dressing. It was on a hoagie that worked well with the salty cured meats. 3. Chocolate chip cookie: includes pecans. Not good at all and would not recommend even with the 99 cent price tag. Everything cost around $19.50 and took about 15-20 min on a Sun afternoon with 2 customer orders ahead of us. Not worth the money or the wait for sandwiches that should cost no more than $6. Ordered through yelp to pick up food during my lunch. I arrived at my requested pick up time and my order hadn't even been looked at yet. Not a single apology or even acknowledgement of a mistake from either lady working there. They got to working on my order once I made them aware of it. 15 minutes later (on lunch break, mind you) my food is ready. I leave the store and am on my way. Next, I go to open up my sandwich and of course they get the order wrong. I paid close to $10 for a single sandwich and I get it LATE and WRONG. Since my lunch break is already half way over, I just deal with it and eat it. I will say, even with them getting the order right, it was still a delicious sandwich. I would recommend that the employees spend less time playing on their cell phones and talking about their personal lives, and start actually paying attention to work. Must try. Sue's Chicken Avocado Caprese Sandwich. 4 Stars for this! It was the first sandwich I tried here and I keep going back for it and don't think I want to stray away from it. It's light and very tasty. The roasted chicken goes perfectly with the avocado, tomato and mozzarella. I came here once for breakfast after hearing they open 7 days a week. I usually can't make the weekday hours so this worked out perfect for me. I was excited hearing they make breakfast burritos but was a bit disappointed afterwards. The breakfast burritos are a build your own style. There are way too many options to choose from and I think I overloaded the burrito with too many different ingredients. I think it would be good if they had some preset options to choose from. The burrito was huge it and also came with fresh fruits. My personal opinion is the price needs to be a little less because it was over $8 for a burrito. Sub par 3 stars for the burrito. I don't think I will be coming back here for the burrito. read more
