The food was delicious and the farm had lots of activities for the kids. A bit rundown but it was a nice day spent at the farm.

From start to finish it was such a fun adventure! You're able to grab a bucket and literally walk the endless rows of beautiful tulips and pick as many as you'd like to your hearts desire. I had no idea there were so many different types of tulips. My bf and I really enjoyed learning this and also learning how to properly "pick" a tulip in order to transport them home without there being any wilting or withering. The weather actually made the experience that much more memorable in my opinion and provided quite a beautiful back drop given the contrasting colors to the grey and white sky. There were a nice selection of food trucks there as well so we grabbed empanadas and lemonade before round two of picking flowers and admiring mother natures beauty. Once we got the tulips home we followed instructions on how to properly clip and keep them watered and within minutes the tulips began to blossom :) The two vases we filled brightened our space and made us begin to plan our next visit ... with a plan on how we'd be more strategic in picking groups of colors and different heights lol. Highly recommend visiting them!

This place is a REAL farm, operating since 1860, and is simply magical. You will find only the most wonderfully friendly staff, the most sincere pumpkin patch that Linus would be proud of, and a memorable day outside in the beauty of nature and what makes farm life, farm life. For $5 per person, you are covered for a hay ride to and from the pumpkin patch. A REAL pumpkin patch; not just pumpkin purchased and thrown in a field with straw. Like, maybe bring a small knife to cut these babies free to take home with you! The ride around was super cute with how they decorated the property (I won't completely spoil it for you!) and allowed you to take in the little changes in fall foliage peeking out. For $8 per person, you get access to pick your own flowers for $1 per sunflower and $0.50 per other flower variations, as well as a corn pit, tractor tire tower, obstacle course, basketball hoops, slides, and more. Our 4 year old absolutely had a BALL in the corn kernel pit and the slides really tested his bravery. You could tell the vibe was less about posing for the most perfect photo and more about just being together with family and friends. The two food trucks on location had responsibly prices pork rolls, hot dogs, apple cider donuts and drinks, whereas if you wanted to splurge and be a foodie, they had a BBQ food truck as well. Again, wonderfully friendly staff and the hot dogs have been approved by my toddler. Cash is much appreciated here, even though they do accept credit cards. This is OUR farm now and I can't wait to come back before the end of the season!

The kids had a blast with all the activities, there was bowling, basketball, 3 corn mazes, a few playgrounds for the kids to climb on and a bunch of corn pits. Make sure to check out the pumpkin patch and pick a pumpkin, the ride is so nice and it's great to go to a patch where you can pick it off the vine. Pro tip- Get the apple cider donuts early the line can get long Pro tip- bring lawn chairs and extra snacks for the brewery next door

Love this place!…read more I'm a big blueberry fan so for the past few years have been making the drive to Emery's from North Jersey to pick my own. The entry fee is a reasonable $4 per person, and they shuttle you over to the ripe berry bushes via golf cart, at least on the weekdays when I've been there. (I suspect this may be a way to keep people from just wandering to other areas, but the Emery's folks are just so plain nice that you can't refuse to take their offer of a ride.) The driver also makes sweeps through the picking area from time to time to pick you back up once you've finished harvesting and ready for weigh-in. Blueberries are $3/pound. The farm store has a nice assortment of baked goods and jams, plus my favorite post-picking treat: blueberry ice cream pops dipped in Belgian chocolate.

We bought the blueberry turnovers, because they looked amazing and we love turnovers and all things blueberry. We tried them the same day, and upon cutting into them, we noticed a distinct lack of blueberry filling. There was some in the middle, but about half of each one contained virtually no filling. We could have looked past that because it was so flaky, but upon biting into it, we both looked at each other and wondered how something could be so flaky, yet incredibly chewy. Taking a bite was like trying to pull a piece of rubber out of the layers. Couldn't bite through it. Weird. It smelled amazing, and the flavor was there, but... A couple weeks ago I bought a blueberry linzer tart. Smelled amazing, and tasted amazing, but the "cookie" part was more like cake. It was so soft and spongy that I couldn't even lift it out of the plastic container - it was just falling apart like cake. Maybe it was because of being in plastic - but I can't imagine a few hours in plastic ruining the entire texture. Perhaps it was sitting in the plastic container for more than a day or two in the store. We're disappointed, but will not give up on Emery's. We'll give them at least one more try!

If heard of Shady Brooks light show and has never been myself - neither had my boyfriend - so it was the first time for all of us. We paid in advance online and there was luckily a discount so we only paid $25 per car instead of the original listed price of $45 per vehicle. It's was about a 40 minute drive for us coming from the city and we luckily didn't have any traffic on our way there or back. When turning into their site, they had signs to direct you to the lanes/area to drive through the light show. Once we got to that area, we drove up to the booth so they can scan our ticket, handed us a newspaper/booklet to go with it, and we were on our way! The light displays, concepts and sections (e.g. "12 Days of Christmas" with 12 displays of drummers drumming) were very well done. Our little one loveeeeedd it - except for the Grinch of course because, he's the Grinch lol. It wasn't a short drive through but not too long either. Once we finished the light show, we did park and got out to take a quick look at what else was going on and get a lay of the land. Would definitely recommend checking this out for the holidays and we would come back to check out the playground for her, wagon rides, etc.

Our kids had an absolute blast picking fresh strawberries, meeting the animals, and riding on the tractor, which ended up being one of the highlights of the day! About a 50 minute drive from Philly and easy parking in a big field with folks directing you where to go. Definitely dusty so dress accordingly (and be prepared to take a shower after you get home). We arrived about 1pm and there was a steady stream of folks coming and going. Check-in process was very straightforward (showed QR code from previously purchased ticket). Highly recommend getting your tickets ahead of time online for a timed (but not strict at all) ticket. We were not interested in the boats, the tractor (dusty!) rides, we were just focused on the tulips. $1 per tulip if you pick more than 10 $2 per tulip if you pick less than 10 There were 4-5 different large sections that had row up on row of different varieties and colors of tulips. Stations with plastic containers to assist you with holding the tulips you've picked, then tables with rolls of brown paper to wrap your tulips and rubber band the bouquets. Checkout was super fast and easy and friendly, there are food trucks in a couple different spots (we got fruit smoothies which were excellent). All in all I had a really great time and look forward to returning for the sunflowers and zinnias!

Now they hire a few high schoolers a little wage to check people in, a few independent contractors run ramshackle concession trucks (it being Easter weekend, they didn't sell beer. Thank Goodness because on top of everything else below, I didn't want to see inebriated funsters face down in the tulips, which was the original title of the Tiny Tim Tulip tune, I'm sure) So they have little to now over head and droves of families who'd go to anything to get out of the house and let the enervated kinder scamper around fill up the grass fields parking lot) What shocked me was the dismal display of mediocre tulips and the overall unpleasant experience. And spoiler: this ain't Holland. 1) 4 hour round trip not worth War Gas. 2) It's only for kids and families really. Check out the durrrr Tulip Down, besotted stumbling sickly chickens and questionable slide) 3) Dirty. 4) Dirt all over - nothing paved. Why they don't have people sign releases is beyond me. It's a trip and fall inclined tip toe paradise. 5) Paddle boats not in use. Spring and no boats. Really? 6) (cover your eyes parents - spoiler) Infested with kids. 7) Awful music. Like party music at a sleepaway camp in a slasher movie. 8) If pointlessly walking around in soft soil with a focus on not wrenching your ankle is your thing, cummere and fork over $20 and enjoy. 9) Punishing, unrelenting sun. All the outdoor fun of being on a chaingang without the chains and something to do like knocking rocks. 10) Ratty tulip flowers were unimpressive - I'm sure I'd be more impressed if I lived life at ankle level and strapped on a Transmission Electron Microscope. 11) Dig a sense of sprawling nothingness? Welcome. Nothing as far as the eye can see except sickly tulips and dirt. 12) The bad arty touches are for children and those that live at knee level. Tulip Town is more like Bridgetroll Village. 23) I came here for peace and ended up trudging around the fields like a farmer wondering where I dropped that damn-gum pouch of chew! Myrtle! Is that a boll weevel?!? Total disappointment. My opinion. If you go here and find none of this true, I'll buy you glasses.
