    Vegan tuna sandwich
    Marissa P.

Before the Yelp Elite week with Delicious Bites, I had never heard of this business. If you're vegan or enjoy vegan treats, it's a must-try. I got the vegan tuna sandwich and it did not disappoint. The vegan tuna was creamy and delicious. I could barely tell it wasn't fish because it was prepared the same as a classic tuna salad. The sandwich was premade, so service was fast and picking up food was easy. It is a cute neighborhood spot to grab lunch on your next work break.

I was first introduced to this shop as part of a Yelp Elite event and wow am I glad for that event! During that event, I got to talking with Corey, who runs the shop with his wife, Tomira. At the time, I was looking for a bakery that could make a pistachio cake to surprise my husband for our one year wedding anniversary as that was the flavor of cake we had at our wedding. I asked Corey if they make pistachio cakes/cupcakes and he informed me that while they don't have something like that on their permanent menu, if I reached out to his wife, she could certainly make it! I got in touch with Tomira via email and it was very smooth. She was quick to respond and get me a quote. She asked how I wanted the cake decorated and sent me the invoice, which was very reasonable and very easy to pay online. They aren't open on Sundays, but the Sunday I needed the cake, they were hosting a block party so pickup was very easy to arrange as well. Both Corey and Tomira were very professional throughout the entire time I was communicating with them. Now, onto the cake: it was perfect. The cake was decorated exactly how I wanted. It tasted amazing as well. It's been over a year since we tasted our actual wedding cake, so I may just not be remembering it well, but I would even dare to say that the cake we got from here for our anniversary may have even been better! It was the best way to cap off our first anniversary and we couldn't have done it without this dynamic husband-wife duo!

Stopped by delicious bites for a quick bite and a coffee. It's a friendly, gentle spot in east tosa. I met Corey the owner who was very kind and informative during our interaction. Most of the drinks are locally made, and the food items are all made in house. There isn't much seating, just a few spots around the exterior. Definitely a "grab and go" spot and worth a visit!

Whether cooking Delicious Bites or creating foodtastic experiences, Tomira does everything with love. Her attention to detail and desire to meet my needs and those of my guests for a Sunday Brunch allowed Tomira to create a welcoming and warm ambiance that was comfortable for approximately 20 guests. The food met all dietary needs and requests AND was good for the soul. From eggs, bacon, and waffles to shrimp and grits, shrimp etouffee, and grilled fish, to the fruit platter, the mouthwatering pineapple lemonade, and the surprise showstopper - the Pecan Praline Syrup everything left all of us fully satisfied and trying to figure out when we were coming back for more! Thank You, Tomira, for your professionalism and passion!!! I will continue to support and recommend Delicious Bites!!!

Delicious Bites is one of our go-to local businesses when we want to have lunch here at The Bronzeville Collective! Food is always fresh, the family ran atmosphere is full of love, and the sweets are divine. We are a fan of the candied and caramel apple slices. You won't be disappointed!

Staff here has been here a long time and are very friendly and efficient. My go to meal here is the fish sandwich. Easily the best in the city. It's offered every day on the menu. The fried chicken and wings here are also top notch. All the sauces are homemade and they change frequently. There isn't anything on the menu that i've tried that I haven't enjoyed. Potato pancakes , which are also offered every day , are some of the best in the city. Friday's feature a splendid fish fry. And on sundays , the ham sandwich deal is excellent. Great place to grab dinner or lunch or a cold brew. Tons of different menu options for people to enjoy. I highly recommend this restaurant.

There was no one in there. We were the only customers. Very talkative guy. We didn't know what to expect so we took a minute reviewing the menu. We went ahead and ordered two turkey sandwiches. Options for bread are white wheat or rye. Other than that, we were only asked if mayo, lettuce and tomato were OK. Gus is very friendly saying we are going to love it!!! So we sat down the sandwiches came out freshly done. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in building his sandwiches. My boyfriend really enjoyed his sandwich. It's exactly what he was looking for. For my personal review I wouldn't really say this is my favorite. It was just regular white bread stacked high with three slices of cheese, a ton of lettuce and a stack of turkey. Way too big for me. I would've preferred sourdough bread maybe some pickles and toasted? Maybe some avocado and other add on options so that you can build your sandwich..... And of course a lighter sandwich. I definitely had to take the other half to go, but I wasn't really impressed. To be quite honest i could have just made a regular sandwich at home just like this. There wasn't anything special. I wouldn't spend my money on something that I could make at home. For any of those that enjoy just basic sandwiches like this i would say this should be your to go spot to help support the owners. Hours are short so you have to make sure you make your way early. Again, I'm not taking away from the fact that this is a great lunch spot and the owners deserve all the praise and business. You can tell they genuinely care. There is plenty of seating in here. Also, while other comments were made, Gus, definitely thanks you for your business quite a few times too.

But once you know where it is, it's easy to find and worth it. I went in during lunch one day and it was quiet. The hours are limited, as they close early afternoon. I had a great conversation with the owners and cook, Gus, and his lovely wife behind the counter. I ordered the lamb gyro plate with the french fries - and Gus said, you can get fries anywhere, try my rice! And so he served up the rice and asked me to try it right then and there. I asked for my feta on the side, and again he was insistent I try it then. The portions are gigantic - it was enough for at least 2 meals. We talked about his background in ethnic cooking. I was impressed they opened up around the time Covid-19 was raging and they've managed to stay in business despite opening up during a difficult time. The food was good, the portions are generous, making it a good value for the money, I enjoyed meeting the proprietors, and I'm looking forward to returning and trying out some of his soups and other lunch items.

Pavlovian response (read: classical conditioning)…read more "Classical conditioning (also Pavlovian conditioning or respondent conditioning) is a form of learning in which the conditioned stimulus or CS, comes to signal the occurrence of a second stimulus, the unconditioned stimulus or US. (A stimulus is a factor that causes a response in an organism.) The conditioned response is the learned response to the previously neutral stimulus.[1] The US is usually a biologically significant stimulus such as food or pain that elicits a response from the start; this is called the unconditioned response or UR. The CS usually produces no particular response at first, but after conditioning it elicits the conditioned response or CR. Classical conditioning differs from operant or instrumental conditioning, in which behavior emitted by the subject is strengthened or weakened by its consequences (i.e. reward or punishment).[2]" Enter, Pacific Wraps. My CS? Hearing someone utter the words "Pacific Wraps." Someone alluding to "that wrap place in the union." Anything comparable. My US? Uncontrollable salivation. Let's back up the proverbial bus here to provide a bit of context for a place which many Milwaukeeans over the age of 23 may not know about. Pacific Wraps = wrap joint in the UWM Union food court. There's really nothing special about it, I assure you... though they have lots of options and some are healthy/inventive or whatever. Use your Panther Card if you're like 20 and mommy and daddy load it for you, or pay something like six or seven bucks for any of their myriad wrap choices: Thai Chicken, Chili-Hummus, the Firecracker, Mandarin Chicken Salad, Korean, Vegan Falafel... I could go on, but I'll stop with the mention of THE MONTEREY. I am a disgusting human because I loved and still love the Monterey wrap from Pacific Wraps. I am even more disgusting because sometimes I would sub in CRISPY (read: fried) chicken instead of the grilled. Let's talk about how perfectly pedestrian this piece is regardless: chicken, cheddar, bacon, rice, and ranch all wrapped up together in a delicious, delicious gut-bomb of a thing. You wouldn't think something so plain and so fast-food-esque could be so delicious, would you? You're wrong, though. I was thrilled, however, to learn the other evening over drinks and bites post-Brew City Bash II that both my Yelp-tern Jess S and elite extraordinaire Shane H share in my secret Monterey/Pacific Wraps shame. I am alone no longer! I am not a secret disgusting monster! Shane went on to inform me that, sometimes, Pacific Wraps runs an AVOCADO MONTEREY special. Shane. I may or may not head to Pacific Wraps today and battle the throngs of 19-year olds. I'm almost ten years older than them now, and IDGAF about being in the student union anymore. Wait. Graduation was Sunday, right? Is PW even open? Do they close for the summer and I just wrote this review? TRAGEDY.

Here lemme "wrap" at ya folks for a bit…read more.. I deem Pacific Wraps to be the best food purveyor in the UWM Union. There's so much variety, as far as meat, no meat, gluten-free, spicy, mild, rice, no rice, etc. You really CAN have it all! The crew that works here obviously changes a lot since it is staffed by students, but they generally are pretty good at what they're doing. If they are out of a particular item, they are very good at suggesting alternatives. Sometimes you get one worker who just really, really, has no idea how to wrap a wrap. It is unfortunate and sometimes messy, but you know what? It still tastes the same! Eat it and go about your day! I recommend the Monterrey (rice, grilled chicken, bacon, ranch)! It's heaven in a cylinder!
